"Oh, Dr. Marcus. How very pleasant to see you again." Irro said sarcastically. "I don't want to be a seal. They're cute animals, but human is still better." However, realizing that Marcus's girl was there, she smiled. She liked the child. "Hi." She said sweetly, meanwhile backing up to the door where Kara was trying to find the stabilizer. She gently knocked on the door and whispered. "Kara, let me in! We need to get out of here, but I need the stabilizer!"
Dr. Jen caught up with Riley. "We're trying to help you teenagers. Don't you get it? Come on. I'll help Liz. So where is she?" Jen asked unsmilingly.

Kara pulled Jake to his feet. She looked quickly around for the stabilizer. She saw a long needle with her name taped to the side. Jake looked at Kara oddly. "What are you doing?" Kara didn't answer. She grabbed the needle and stabbed it in her arm, gritting her teeth as hard as she could. Jake nearly screamed. "What are you doing?!" He hissed. Kara whimpered and collapsed. Jake looked at her carefully. "We need the painful needles?" Kara nodded, she didn't want to talk in case she screamed. Jake held out his hand. "Sorry..." He pulled Kara to her feet. The needle stopped hurting. Kara ungritted her teeth. "Why are you sorry? You should be saying that I'm a psycho for hurting myself." Jake sighed sadly. "You're strong. You took the pain without crying out. Just watching you scared me..." He looked at the door, then back at Kara. "I guess Someone as weak as me, should do something for the strong..." Kara stared oddly at him, then realized what he meant. She grabbed his arm and pulled him away from the door. "If you dare try to sacrifice yourself, I will never speak to you again!" Jake pulled his arm away. "You might make it out. I won't. I can't stand pain..." He stood up and walked to the door. "Run, Kara." He opened the door and slid out to face Irro and Marcus.

"Thanks, Kara. Wait, Jake? What are you doing here too?" Irro asked, stunned. Oh, I need the stabilizer. "Can you distract Marcus for a minute? I need stabilizer! Then I'll help you and Kara and Riley escape. I've been here before as a child. My father used to work with Marcus. Until he was killed by her because he wanted to tell the government about the project."
Jen collapsed from fatigue. "I can't run. Riley, just tell me the truth." She said as she slipped into unconsciousness.

Jake looked at Irro. "Hey, I woke up... Hi, Dr. Marcus!" He never met Becca before so he smiled. "Who's this adorible little girl?" He thought quickly. If I get Marcus away from the lab, Kara can escape! Jake walked over to Marcus. He leaned close to her ear. "Kara ran this way! I'll show you if you can make sure the little girl gets away. Kara almost attacked me!" He said the lie in a low whisper so that only Marcus could hear him.

Liz sneered. "Looks like this one will be better than that little brat Kara."

Kara rubbed her arm and snuck over to another tray. There were a few needles with names she never heard in the lab. She picked up one with the label that said 'Irro' and stuffed it in her pocket. She saw one labeled 'Riley' and took that one as well. "Got them. Now how do we get out?" she stopped when she saw a needle labeled 'Jake'. She picked it up and thought about what happened. "Oh... If you get hurt because of me, I'll never forgive myself..." She put it in her pocket with the other two. "We need to leave. And now..."

Irro backed into the room and looked for her syringe. Found it! Once I'm clear, I can help Kara and Jake get away from Marcus and Riley away from the scientist - who I think was Matthews - who got me. Irro stabbed herself with the needle. She breathed in sharply from the pain, but took a deep breath and ran out of the room to give Kara enough time to escape. "Liz, how are you? Your forehead is looking awfully bloody. That must hurt. Though, I must say, the look is befitting of you." Kara, run!

Liz gave Irro a dirty look. "Obviously, I'm hurt. My bloody forehead would be a defect in Kara's personality. She's too violent to be kept near an innocent like you." Her eyes rolled on the word innocent. "I don't know what you think your up to, but you're not up to it anymore. I'm escorting you to your habitat. Now." She put her hand on Irro's shoulder, her firm grip would have hurt a normal human. "Come."

Kara slid out from under the desk. She hid after she heard someone slip into the lab. "Out. Gotta find a way out..." She saw a window, high up off the ground. It was Liz's personal door. Kara climbed up a bookshelf filled with tubes and vials of various substances. She almost reached the window at the top, but was about three inches too short to reach the latch. "Nngh!"

Riley watched as Dr. Jen slipped out of conciousness, running like a bat outta hell. She stopped, seeing Dr. Liz talking to Irro. She watched as Dr. Liz grabbed the girl's shoulder, and without a second thought, rammed her as hard as she could. Riley pounced on Dr. Liz, claws at her neck. "Irro, run while I hold her off. I've spent most of my life in this Damned place, and I can wait a little longer for freedom. I survived my change. Go."
Dr. Marcus looked at Jake, mildly startled. She lightly grabbed his hand, holding it and rubbing it in a motherly way. "Where is she, Jake?" She turned to her daughter, smiling at the half-parrot girl. Becca's Golden eyes hazed at Jake, and a small smile crept onto her face. "I'll be on my way mother." She turned, revealing the beautiful pattern of feathers that covered her body, making it look as if she were wearing brightly colored clothing. She stretched her wings, then quietly took flight. Dr. Marcus's eyes grew sharp, and her grip on Jake's hand tightened. "Where is she, brat?"

Jake thought fast. He settled on his teary eyes and crying voice. Worked with my parents all the time... He started squeezing a few tears out. "Dr. Marcus! She ran this way! Come on! She might hurt Becca!" Jake started following the direction Becca flew off in.

Liz punched at Riley's stomach with her left fist. Her right hand reached for a tranq syringe in her lab pocket. "Little brats!! Marcus!! They're all working together!!"

Kara jumped and caught the latch. "Nngh! Almost!" She broke the latch and fell back on top of the bookcase. "Ow..." She could hear Liz screaming. "Gotta hurry!" Kara took a wild leap at the window and caught the edge. She flipped and kicked the window out of it's frame, falling out of the window in the process. "OH!!"

Irro looked around at the chaos. She murmured, "Thank you, Riley. I'll be fine. We can knock her out together." as she grabbed Liz's hand and tried to force it out of her pocket. Then she yelled as loud as she could, "Dr. Marcus! Liz is trying to kill Riley! She's trying to ruin your experiment!"

Liz's wings flattened and made a wild swipe at Irro. Her syringe fell out of her hand and rolled away. "Get off me!!! I'll make sure Marcus's experiments will go on!!!" She kicked at Riley. "Marcus!!! Find Kara!!!"

Kara landed a few feet from the wall. The window shattered under her, but broke a little bit away from her. She wasn't cut, but she was frightened by her sudden fall. She got up quickly and started running from the lab. "I'm free."

Irro laughed maniacally at Liz. "Kara was leaving when I came in. Who knows where she is now?" She whispered maliciously to Liz. Then she screamed. "Dr. Marcus! Help me! She's trying to hurt Riley!" She yelled as she tried to cause Liz enough pain to knock her out.

Riley clawed at Liz's face, leaving deep gashes everywhere. She clawed her own arms a few times. "Help! FREAKY PHYSCO DOCTOR TRYING TO SLICE ME UP HERE!" She yelled. Riley smiled at Irro.
Dr. Marucus looked at Jake, eyes filled with tears. "There's no sympathy for you, boy." She pulled a Syringe out of her pocket and jabbed it into Jake's arm. "That should do it. You'll be immobilized for a few hours until your DNA fully mutates." She threw him into the nearest cage, locking it. "She heard Liz screaming to go find Kara, and her heart skipped a beat. She Pulled a whistle out of her pocket and blew in it, summoning a fierce-looking Panther. She stood up. "Yes, Doc?" "Find the Fish girl, and do it quickly! She's escaped!" The panther nodded, rushing up to the door and out into the world. Dr. Marcus rushed to held Dr. Liz.

Liz flapped her wings and dragged herself away from the two rogue experiments. "How dare you claw me Riley. I'll be sure to tell Marcus exactly how I came by these marks and how you cut yourself as well. Marcus knows that I live for this facility. I would never sabotage her patients. I care too much for this lab to have you ungrateful brats destroy it. Why do you think I gave myself wings?" She lunged at Irro, feinted and grabbed the syringe behind her. She leapt at Riley and tried to inject the tranq.

Jake struggled to move. He could barely speak, let alone move. "I think this is better though. Ungh. At least I tried to help. Kara might be able to get help..." He slumped over and felt the blackness of unconsciousness take over. "Run, Kara... Run..."

Kara kept running. Her lungs burned, and her muscle protested, but she didn't stop. She forced herself to keep running. If she had stopped to rest, She would have noticed that the burning in her legs wasn't just muscle friction or exaustion. She didn't notice that, on her neck, the pores were windening, into gills.

Riley smiled evily, dodging the syringe and grabbing her wrist. She quickly twisted Dr. Liz's hand, making her drop the needle. Riley's smile widened to one of triumph, but quickly vanished. "Irro, did we actually give Kara a stablizer before she left?" She practically choked on her words, terrified if the answer.
The Panther continued to dart towards the scent of the girl, but stopped as it began to change. She smiled wickidley as she saw The girl catching her breath and the gills slowly forming. She growled, leaping out of the underbrush. "You're mine now."

Jen woke up to Liz's screeching. Oh, no. Marcus is going to kill me. Jen thought as she slowly got up. I have to find Irro and cage her. She quickly found her way back to the main room where Liz was under brutal attack. "Irro! You're mine now!"
Irro turned around when she heard Jen. Panicking, she grabbed the tranquilizer and stabbed Jen in the neck. She said quietly, "This is how it feels to be captured." And she shoved Jen in a cage and locked her in. She turned around to Riley. "I don't know what happened to Kara. I think she took her stabilizer and then ran for it. She wasn't in the room when I went in. But I heard the glass smash a few minutes ago. Hopefully, Kara's somewhere safe." Irro took a deap breath and looked at Liz. "So what do we do with her if we can't reach her up there?"
