Efreet had been about to launch himself at the male, then he heard the young pup cry out and run from under him. He was almost going to pull him back, but paused. Papa...that had to mean one thing.
Efreet sat back on his haunches and watched the probably joyous reunion.

Jaden continued circling around, trying to glance at Joska only a few times. Maybe if the male didn't know how important Joska was to him, he would be more willing to leave Joska and try and attack him. He saw him hide his face behind his paws and wondered if the orange male had hurt him in some way. The thought angered him and he growled louder, digging his claws into the slightly wet earth, preparing to charge. He stopped, however, when he heard Joska's small voice and was about to tell him not to move, but it was too late. He could only stare as Joska crossed the short distance between them and he was glad the male didn't try anything. "Joska!" he called, placing a paw in front of him protectively. "You shouldn't have left like that." he said, trying to sound firm although it was mostly worry that filled his voice. He shot a wary glance at the orange male, then back to Joska. It didn't look like they were enemies. Maybe the other had helped Joska from the rain, instead? That seemed to be the case. "Hello," he said, sitting down himself. "I'm sorry about my previous actions. It was wrong for me to assume you would hurt my pup." he hoped the male would forgive him, since he himself would have been angered for being accused of the crime. "My name is Jaden, by the way." he added, trying to smooth down his fur. He didn't want to look rude, although he supposed he already had been.

"Papa!" Joska pressed against Jaden's legs and once his father sat back on his hanches, he snuggled against his stomach.
"I know, I know, I'm sorry..." Jaden didn't sound angry and Joska's tone sounded more sincere this time than any other. It was obvious that the pup was actually regretting leaving the den this time, while all the other times he would roll his eyes and sigh. This night had been very interesting, but the runt was worried, wet from the rain, and exhausted.
"We had fun, though, Efreet says I am a real warrior 'cos I caught a vole, all by myself! I really did! I killed it and he named me a warrior and kept me warm when it rained!"

Efreet lifted his hind paw and scratched his ear and face with it. "Efreet." he replied. "Its nothing to worry about." he mumbled, staring at the pup and his father. "I just kept him safe from anything that'd eat a helix pup...and from getting more lost." He explained.
Suddenly, he had the oddest urge to slip away. Let the pup forget him. If the pup lingered too long, he would find himself in the same position as that north pup. "Anyway. Its good that he's back with you." he turned away, padding towards the forest. "And be careful You have a warrior pup on your paws. The fastest vole-catcher and tracker his age that I've met."

Jaden decided this male wasn't dangerous and he looked down at Joska when he pressed against his stomach. "That's alright, son. Just make sure to tell me next time. You had your mother worried." he said, chuckling. The pups were growing so fast and soon, they would be adolescents. After that... well, they might decide to leave. The thought saddened him as he had grown quite fond of them but he chased away the thoughts. It would be a while until that happened, right? "Really? A warrior!" he tried making his voice sound awed. "I'm so proud of you, Joska." he nuzzled his nose onto Joska's forehead. "Nice to meet you, Efreet." he said, nodding in the orange male's direction. Jaden perked his ears at the mention of his leave. Before Efreet could go too far, he called out. "Wait." He stood up again, padding closer. "There must be something I can do to thank you. I owe you so much for making sure Joska was safe."

Joska's heart (and ego) swelled as Jaden mentioned how proud he was of him. He made his father proud! He really was going to be a warrior! That, more than anything, was all the pup wanted. He felt bad for worrying his mother, but wouldn't she be proud, too?
Suddenly he wanted to return home. He wanted to tell Lunar just what he did while he was away in hopes that she would be happy, too.
His ears pricked and he had a silly grin on his face... Until Efreet announced his leaving. The pup liked the bright orange male and hastily padded after his father. He wanted to beg the adult to stay, but something made him feel like it would of been neither the time or place, he had already been a pawful for long enough.

Efreet paused, looking over his shoulder. He was about to speak, to tell them 'I am a loner. If I wasn't looking to live here, in the east, i would have killed your pup when i first laid eyes on him. now leave me alone before i change my mind.'
But he didn't. Instead, another small smile lit his maw. "...If you could give me something to eat and a dryy place to rest, that would be mighty gracious of you. I will not bother you farther then that." He turned and walked back to them. "Besides, nothing out here that would harm a little pup." He reached out and patted his paw on Joska's head.

Jaden smiled. "I'll get to it." he said, chuckling. He was ready for the challenge of looking for prey in the rain. "Just stay here for a bit, if you don't mind." he said, starting to leave the protection of the... the... ((Wow, I forgot. What are they under? -will pretend it is a tree for now-)) tree. He shot another glance at Joska, his step faltering. Was it really alright to leave him with Efreet? He shook his head to clear the thoughts. It would be. Efreet had already proved himself and he didn't look like he was lying. He ran out into the pouring rain, already knowing scent would be useless. He ran to the stream, his mind registering the fact that, hey, if the prey there are already in water, rain wouldn't affect them. The water had raised but it was still shallow enough for Jaden to stick his head, shoulders, and part of his back out. Using the tricks Lunar had taught him, he caught a few fish, unsure of how hungry the male was. He shook the water out of his fur when he started on his way back out of habit. When he reached them, he plopped the fish down by the orange male and nudged them closer. "After you eat, I know this relatively dry place around the den." he said. He would have offered the male to come into the den itself but Lunar was very protective of her pups and he didn't think she'd let a stranger in anytime soon.

"You're comin' home with us?" The little gray and black pup peered up at his new idol and his tail wagged hastily. This was the best night. EVER. He had already made his mind up about that.
"Then where'll you go? Do you know? Do you just wander around and do awesome things?" His questions came rapidly, with little space between each one.

He took the fish and bit its head off, then skinned it with his teeth and suckled the flesh, snorting and growling until he had finished. He finished it and dropped the bones.
Once he was done, he stood up. "It would be appreciated." he said to Jaden, lowering his head and ears submissivly. He looked to Joska.
"Not home, but close to it." he said. "After that, I'll be on my way. I'm not as awesome as you think, pup."

Jaden respectfully kept his distance away from the male while he ate. Wolves, especially the males, were naturally competitive and easily angered when it came to food and he wasn't sure if Efreet was like that, as well. He nodded at Efreet's words, standing on his paws, ready to lead the way. Before Joska could say anything, he picked him up by the scruff of his neck and started on his way, trying to keep his neck bent so that the rain wouldn't hit the pup. He was growing and Jaden would have asked if he wanted to walk, but he figured he was tired from the long day. After a while, he was panting heavily, Joska's scruff still between his jaws. Just a few weeks ago, he was easy to carry around. Now, he was so big he almost touched the ground. They entered a forest and Jaden used that as an excuse to put Joska down, watching the small puddles around them rippling with the drops of water that fell through the trees. "We're almost there." he said.

The growing pup was tired, so tired in fact that Jaden probably noticed a complete change in behavior. ally Joska wiggled and whined. He always wanted to do everything himself, and although he wanted to be big and brave before their strange guest, he was too tired to do anything but dangle in Jaden's maw.
Fortunately, they were almost back.

He followed at a respectable distance, smirking. He knew the alpha would carry his pup. He made no comment on it. He was cold and wet and he wanted a warm place to wait out the night. (could efreet maybe join joska and his parents as an associate pack?)
