Also, it should be said that since we're grouping practically all the women of Africa today, we're going to clash pretty badly.

I'm sure every. Single. Country works a little differently, and the rules, and likelihood of a women's movement, is different per country.

Okay, no. That is what you said. I am referencing exactly what you said, not where you said, "Well some feel..." Not where you said, "We should think about..." I am referencing -the words you said on how you feel about the subject.-

I'm done. When you start deciding your opinions aren't "static," and that you can just change them on a whim and act like you've always felt that way, you're no longer worth arguing with.

WHERE?

EDIT:

My first post in response:

"The opening movie as I told Kate is a bit of an "allegory" of how the idea could function, in many, many possible ways. "

EDIT2:

And what I meant by "static" was that I'm saying "It's something like A, it's something like B". To make actual equations would require more thought on my end, and I don't feel like evolving a thought right now. (I'm multi-tasking). I'm not telling you: Hey I.Am! I can change whatever the ******** I want after i've said it!

I'm by no means saying not to donate to them. If you'll look at my post dissecting the video, I point out different charities on the page, and while they're good for individuals perhaps and charity is always given in good faith, there's no substance to the video.

I don't like the video because it makes it easy for people to feel good about donating money and move on, saying, "Well now that a girl's got a cow, things will get better."

I don't like raising women up when it comes to investing, because we need to invest in boys as well or it won't work.

You just said "Handing money to girl's in school isn't going to make them revolt," and then say, "Throwing money at the problem?" I'm not being frivolous. Did you see the charities linked to? They were all for donating money to go to the same causes in the video. That's like saying a commercial with people having fun and drinking coca-cola while doing it isn't trying to get you to spend your money on coke because it never says "Buy our product." The first charity you saw is girls' schooling and funding it...oh you mean just like in the video? And then there's one to give money for a loan for a cow...oh you mean just like in the video?

I didn't say "Don't invest in girls because it's sexist," I'm saying, this promotes investing specifically in girls which is sexist. I'm all for investing in both, which includes girls (unless girls aren't human beings anymore). This video, specifically, does the job of promoting things that may not be harming girls but alone will not reach the supposed objective, but it doesn't give any indication of that. It's misleading.

If there was a charity video saying to invest in boys because if boys are educated to treat women equally then things would be better, I'd also be opposed. Probably moreso, honestly, because there would be no logic behind ignoring girls, where I can vaguely see some logic here (although I believe it is faulty).

You apparently read "Women, when given equality, will just be the same as men" as "Women are evil, they suck, and they'll be totalitarians."

That's how I read it. I mean... that's how men are, so if given the same opportunities why wouldn't women do the same thing?
