((Lol well that was odd. You must've walked right past Oliver and didn't even notice he was there. Just don't go outside....))

(Oh, haha, sorry. We'll just say that Estelle was too scared of the dark to notice. My bad. ^^)

Araiah awoke to complete and utter blackness, something she'd still hadn't become accostumed to. Shivering, she unbended herself from her uncomfortable postiton on the ground to sit up. She strange noises emmitted once again aobve her head, causing her to shgrink back into the wall she sat against and grab tightly to her knees. She squeezed her eyes shut if only to relish in the comfort of the familiar darkness behind her eyelids. The darkness that surrounded her was too dark, too cold- perfect monster territory. Once, she thought she could hear footsteps and voices, but they faded quickly. She hummed softly to herself so she wouldn't go completely insane.

Stephanie stepped off of her cot and cautiously peered around the entrance of her cell.
/I wonder what I'm in for this time?/ she thought.
She brushed the dust off her clothes and straightened out wrinkles. She knew what was coming next, she would go to court and they'd assign her another lawyer, and then she'd be sentenced a month or two and cleared, off to ruin her life once more.
She took a deep breath and slowly let it out.
"Here goes nothing." she mumbled and stepped out of her cell to see an old man and a little girl. She gasped.
/This can't be prison!/ she thought.

kryxel awoke in a room with no windows. he stood up and walked to the only door
"locked would be my guess." he kicked it and it dident fall off the frame
"..wouldent hurt to try" he said turning the handle. it opened revealing a long hallway. to the left is towards the house...the right the path that none take.
(chance time...if the die is 1-7 left...if it is 8-10 right.)

Nam jumped as the door to his cell slid down with a thunderous noise. Involuntarily, he shook. Trying to be as still, small and quiet as possible, Nam scrunched into a tiny ball.
Nam realized that no one was there, but every hair stood on end. If he had been himself, he would have been even more suspicious of the circumstances, though circumstances being as they were, Nam (like an animal,) saw an opportunity for freedom. Crawling ever so slowly, he peered out slowly around the door. Every single hair of his stood so erect he would have been surprised if they didn't pull themselves out and leave a mess on the floor. In one direction there was an open door, where a few girls were gathering. In the other direction there was darkness. Light meant a way out, but it also meant people, the people who caught him. The dark was completely unknown, though there might be a way out, however it may be endless corridors where he would die, lost. He weighed his options carefully, still not able to choose. If he chose to go to the light after he was done thinking, he might have taken a long time and they may be angry with him, which would be bad since he was a scrawny boy whose genetics had traded speed for agility (and there IS a difference, he knew). Still contemplating, he thought he might try the dark.

Alya just looked around at the opening entrance to the cell she was in and quickly moved out of the cell. It had scared her and she was glad that she was now out of the cell that seemed to have enclosed her. She looked around the area she had come into and saw other people there, older than her expect for someone who seemed to be younger than her. She frowned that she noticed most where women expect for two, an old man and another man. She didn’t speak as she noticed the others did.

User ImageMy name is Luna Star...
"Love Me."
I think I'm kinda: "confused"
I wonder: "Who is the granddaughter?"
Probably shouldn't be listening to: "some spoiled brat and old guy"

Luna sat on her bed motionless, suddenly hearing a squeeky sound, that trembled Luna. What the-? Grandpa... Luna's eyes widen, finally understanding. She must be a granddaughter of that guy..humph. Luna then heard a sudden jingle from her cell door, it opening. Luna's eyes widen, and she slowly walks out of the room, her back slightly hunched like always. She looked around, and followed the crowd, glancing at the old man once more.

((Don't know if anybody hasn't posted yet, assuming everybody left their cells.))

Oliver stared after his young mistress long after she had left. Then he returned his attention to the gathering crowd.

"Everyone," Oliver began in his old, croaked voice, "you all have the, ahem, 'privilege' of being the guest of the great Duke Hoyles. He invites you all to join him for dinner - and I myself apologize for how you were all kept. You will each receive a private bedroom - unless, of course, some of you feel the need to share." With that, the old man turned to walk up the stairs behind him, not waiting to see who followed.

Of course, Evelyn followed immediately after. Prisoner or no, she needed to get on their good side. She didn't need to become an outcast here, like she had everywhere else in life. And who knows? It might end up benefiting her in the end, plus, she may make a few new friends. Win/win situation. That is, unless they hate her from the getgo. Then, it wouldn't matter, because everything would turn up horribly in the end.

Stephanie thought over her choices.
/Well, I have really no choice/ she thought, /but to follow and see what happens./
She looked over her shoulder into the darkness. Then she ran to catch up with Oliver.
"Excuse me, sir, but, who is Duke Hoyles?" she asked.

Oliver stumbled, turning to stare at Stephanie, blinking uncomprehendingly. "Why, Duke Archibonde Hoyles of Boltonne, my lady. He is the wealthiest noble this side of the Great Sea!"

The old man, turned to face all of the Duke's 'guests'. "It is thanks to Duke Hoyles'... 'generosity'... that you are all guests here. He has taken an interest in each and every one of you, for reasons he need not share with a lowly caretaker such as myself. I am sure he will discuss it with you all over dinner."

Resolved to say no more, Oliver began climbing the creaky stairs into the library.

Stephanie stared after him.
/That explains nothing/ she thought, but didn't complain.
She started walking behind him, trying to peer around him to see where they were going.

Evelyn continued to follow quietly, a faint smile upon her lips as her sea green eyes darted around, observing her surroundings. Something told her that she really needed to know her way around, or it would end up biting her for it in the end.
