CrystalMind Priestley Knatalie9 America is falling more and more everyday. Look at our economy... Other economies around the world are also in recession. In any case, why see a dropping economy as a sign of the Antichrist at work? A stage for him/her (you never know) to come out on, certainly, but their actual hand? As I've already said, I think that the only thing we can really do is live according to God's principles. If a political leader's actions go consistently against what Jesus taught, and if they preach a different Gospel than the one given to us, then don't follow them. It's as simple as that. It will happen. The Antichrist will come, regardless of what we know or do not know. The how, when, and who are not entirely revealed to us, and that can be frustrating. As humans, we have a feeling that we're entitled to know "what's going on", but even if we did know, we couldn't stop it. we should be watchful, but pointing fingers will get us nowhere. I never said a failing economy meant the anti-Christ was coming. I was pointing out that America's economy is not the only one that is struggling. It's important not to focus too much on America when there's a whole world outside of it with its own happenings.
Nevertheless, what you say is right: we have to be watchful. Pointing fingers distracts us from what we should be seeking.

Priestley I never said a failing economy meant the anti-Christ was coming... Sorry, wasn't trying to imply that you did. sweatdrop I was trying to refer to the other part of Knatalie9's post. Knatalie9 ...And it all starts with the downfall of "the seventh great empire" or something like that... which is America. Or we, as humans be flawed and bias and only think its America. Which I personally believe it is. And in that case... America is falling more and more everyday. Look at our economy... Bad quote job on my part. But your point is enlightening. We do tend to focus too much on our immediate surroundings, i.e. our own country, and forget about the rest of the world.

I personally, think that we should always be watchful and aware, to all countries. Because my vote goes to that the anti Christ probably won't be from America. But we should always be aware and informed on what to look for, so we are not so easily decieved.

Hawaii is a US state last I checked. stare

Priestley Dark Angel Rai Priestley Knatalie9 America is falling more and more everyday. Look at our economy... Other economies around the world are also in recession. Technically we aren't in a recession. In order to be in a recession our GDP has to fall for 2 whole quarters. Don't think it's done that yet.. I believe it has.
At least in the UK anyway. Yeah. In the UK maybe but here in the US it hasn't dropped...yet anyways. It might..it might not. It might rebound. Who knows.

At least in the UK anyway. Yeah. In the UK maybe but here in the US it hasn't dropped...yet anyways. It might..it might not. It might rebound. Who knows. You probably missed the recession in 2001 then, when 2.7 million people lost their jobs in your country.
The overly simplified definition of recession is two consecutive quarterly falls in the total GDP of the country. The true definition of recession takes into account elements such as output, employment, income and sales. Announcing a recession causes people to tighten their belts, which leads to a reduction in company income, which then leads to reduced output, employment and, again, less spending. It's a vicious cycle. You could say this recession was triggered in part by the worldwide announcement of recession, despite news advising people to spend as they would normally. The main reason was risky lending and ridiculous bonuses for bankers.
Anyway, that's my rant over.

Not exactly on US soil. If he wasn't born on a military base then he would've been illegiable. Again it's a minor technicality.

Well, the government in the US is finally saying the word 'recession' because the citizens keep saying the word 'depression.' But, despite the horrors of Bush's terms, the horrors to come if McCain gets elected and the insanity of his VP, my vote for anti-Christ still lies with our favorite Terminator actor.
I'm only mostly kidding. When he was elected in California, and people were starting to say he should be elected president, those little hairs on the back of my neck stood on end.
But either way. We won't know until the end. All we're really doing here is speculating and making pot-shots. Which is fun in itself. mrgreen
