Nathan smiled at Billie and stretched out his arm behind his neck. "What wounds?" He chuckled at his own joke. "How are you, Billie? How's your neck after that little choke-hold yesterday?" Nathan asked her, jokingly. Nathan tilted his head to the side and looked out the window. He saw the lush green of the garden that was placed in the center of the Tower. He looked up to the sky and saw white fluffy clouds. He was dying to just go and fly in them. But, then the black shimmer of a small birds wings caught his eyes. A raven. I've never seen a raven around here? Must be forced out of it's habitat. That seems to be happening a lot to animals these days. Nathan inwardly shrugged to himself and turned his attention back to his conversation with Billie.

Livi stretched her wings and soared in circles over the people below. She could hear them quite well, but didn't really know what they were talking about - and she certainly wasn't about to ask.

Billie smiled at him and rubbed the back of her neck, "A little sore, but then again, this isn't the first time someone has tried to shut me up like that," she laughed a bit, "By the way, good speech, I didn't know that much about those items, now I'm glad that I do. Now I can reserve my energy a bit," she went over and sat in a chair looking at him, "I'm just glad that you're okay, you had me worried for a moment."

Livi cawed loudly. It was amazing how boring normal people - supposed heroes, she reminded herself - could be.

Nathan looked out the sun roof and saw the raven flying around. It's caw had caught his attention. Nathan turned his attention back to Billie. "Thanks. I'm always getting into battles when something gets broken. I'm surprised they have me in the Tech and Magic Department when I could be doing a lot of good in the Infermary. But, I'm not complaining. Healers never get to see any real action. And most healers are power-houses, let me tell ya'." Nathan felt shudder through out the room. His eyes grew a hint of purple, almost completely unnoticeable. He reached out with his mind throughout the Tower. Some of their fellow Legionaires were playing with their rings. "Looks like Power-Lad decided to use his ring in a less productive way. No matter. He won't break himself." Nathan chuckled with Billie.

Billie just shook her head, "You need to take better care of yourself. Next time I might not be there to help you out. Good thing I heard some bad waves making it to my room. You do a great job with what you are already doing, you're a good leader and knows what to do in a pinch. I'd follow you any day," she saluted him then chuckled lightly, "I just hope he doesn't break his ring, I know I'm not trusting him anywhere near my instruments," she looked up and saw the raven, "A raven...hmm...something...is off about that caw. I don't know what, but its rubbing my waves the wrong way."

A young man wearing a peculiar choice of clothes, white and very...eccentric, for lack of a better word, was walking alone when he heard the sound of a raven's caw. He looked up in interest.
Of course, he didn't know it was a raven or even what a raven was. He was new to this place, after all.
Not just the city. The planet.
His name was Altair Albany. His stolen shuttle had just crashed on the planet a few days ago, and since then he had been wandering around with no real goal. It was a nice day out, so he had been walking and seeing whatever he saw. Which today was a raven, apparently.
"Interesting," he said quietly to himself. "I wonder what that is." He stood, silently watching in interest.

Livi circled a few more times then landed in an empty room silently, unnoticed by the two people - heroes, of course; who wasn't anymore? - and the newcomer. She morphed quickly into her human form and smoothed down her raven-black hair. Her clothes, only slightly rumpled, were still acceptable, at least. She slowly walked out of the room and, noticing the newcomer before her, hurried to catch up to him. "Hi," Livi said, carefully not letting her lips expose her teeth: she could still feel some of her food as a raven stuck inside her mouth, and it would be a bother to explain. "I'm Olivia. And you are?"

He looked at her in interest, as he did with everything lately. "O-liv-i-a." He cocked his head. "Olivia. I'm Altair."
He looked around. "So...what do people do around here?"

Livi frowned. "You seem to have trouble saying Olivia, Altair. Are you from somewhere else? Would it help if you just called me Livi?"She paused. "To answer your question...lots of things. School, obviously" - she scoffed- "and dances, and quests for the heroes. You're a hero, too, right? Or are you...something else?" She deliberately avoided the word "villain," for that was what she was. "Are you kind? Evil? What are you, Altair? A hero, or not? Or...are you an undefined?"

He smiled. "Livi. I like Livi better."
Altair listened in interest. "School. I hate school. I've never been good at dancing either." He looked at Livi with interest.
"A hero? Not really. What are you, Livi?"

(((Its okay, I didn't mean to be yelling, just advice. Anyway, thanks for changing it. It makes your writing seem so much better. You are a good writer.)))
Nathan chuckled at all of Billie's jokes. "Me, too. But, I'm pretty sure these rings are pretty indestructable. They're made out of a combination of diamond and an alloy called polydust because of its number of uses. It's also highly indestructable. Put the two together, and you have a .1% chance of destroying it. Same with the belt. But, trust me, these things weren't cheap. Fortunantly, it will be cheap to upgrade them because we can do that out of our own labs. Thank the Higher Majiks." Nathan smiled. He looked up. The raven was gone. Must have realised that this wasn't a suitible home for it. "Ah, don't worry about the bird. It's just probably scared or something. It's home was probably destroyed because of new construction. The city is growing. Metroplis isn't just a city anymore. It's practically the New York of it's time. And more. The city thinks there isn't any room to care for such creatures. But, they don't understand that we need those creatures. They're majiks are strong, too." Nathan looked back to the sky. "See, it's gone. Nothing to it." Nathan rose. "If you need me, call. There's a communicator in the belts, aswell. But, they're for destress calls and missions only. I'll be in the cafeteria." Nathan put the newspaper down and left the lounge.

Billie nodded smiling at him, "Sure thing Mystic, I'll be hanging around here for a while. Don't get yourself into any trouble without me, ya got it? I wanna test out my new sound waves...as soon as I get them to work through my flute," she took it out of her waste, "I got to work on channelling through my mouth rather than my hands. This planet has a lot of mouth using instruments," she brought the flute to her lips and began playing a high, sweet melody and very small waves came from the end.

"Oh, I don't know," Livi said vaguely. "This and that. Hero? Sort of. Evil? Well, I'm sort of that too..." Realizing that an awkward silence was forming, she changed the subject. "So what do you like to do, Altair? Reading, swimming, etc? Do you have any pow - oh!" she cried, cutting off her last word. "I've got to go!"
She shot away from him and ducked behind a wall, where she was hidden from Billie and Nathan. She morphed quickly into a leopard, then changed her mind; leopards didn't live around here. Best then to be a strange morph - the Soglera from her home planet would do just fine. It resembled a raven, but was larger and brown with a white head - she thought that people here referred to it as a bald eagle - and then she flew out of her cover and once again circled, where she could easily spy on those below.

Altair didn't have time to reply before Livi dashed off. He half-raised a hand in goodbye, confusion on his face.
He began to walk again, heading down the street. He stopped when he heard the soft sound of a muscial instrument, soft and calming. Altair listened to it from the street, then decided to find it. He began to walk around, trying to pinpoint it.
