"That sounds nice," Higoi smiled back at Bennet, taking the weeds from Bingly, "but I don't think he would be big enough for both of us. Weaving is easy, watch this."
She sat down on the rocky bottom of the lake and crossed her legs, taking several strands of the weeds and laying them out in her lap, all in the same direction.
"Now you take another one," she smiled, "and you go the other way ... in and out and in and out ... like this!"
She showed him, weaving four strands into the first ones to begin what could possibly be a blanket. "See? It's not too hard," she grinned brightly.

Bennet giggled and nods, "Oh wow that is very easy." he giggled and moved to grab some as well. Then he tried to move them in and out but the weeds started to bunch up and he giggled more, "Oh no I messed up!"
Bingly nods and moves to weaved up some of the smaller weeds.

"Oh dear," Higoi giggled, watching Bennet's attempt at weaving. "That doesn't work at all ... here, let me help you."
She reached over and smoothed out the weeds in his lap.
"You have to keep them flat while you're working," she smiled warmly at him, "or else they get all tangled. See? Keep it flat and they can't."

Bennet blushed and nods, "Oh I see...but when your weaving them how do you keep them flat...they keep wanting to bunch."
He looked over to Higoi's lap and smiled, 'Yours are so prefect!" The perfectest!" he then looked at Bingly, "Oh no his are even gooder than mine." he blushed more and smiled at her reaching up a hand to rub one of his ears. "I am so clumsy..." he laughed and his smile was one of enjoyment and pleasure.

Higoi giggled at Bennet. "You're cute," she told him with a shy smile. Just the way he was acting, the way he talked ... she just thought he was the cutest katorai ever!
"And you're not clumsy," she added, lowering her eyes, "you just haven't learned how to do this yet. You'll be able to do it soon, I know it! Watch ..."
She showed him how she did it.
"Just keep your arm ... or your elbow or something ... on the first part ... and then where you weave you actually pull it tight and smooth instead of blobby and yucky!"
Her eyes glowed with happiness as she showed him. "See? Now you try!"

Bennet watched Higoi's skilled hands, "Wow! Your so awesome!" He clapped his hands and watched then when she told him to try he nodded and started to weave trying to do it like she showed, "Like this Higoi?"
Bingly calpped his tentacles together as he watched the two Katorai. They were so cute and it was very good for Bennet to find new friends.
He left his small blanket to go and find food for the three of them.

Higoi watched Bennet careful for a few moments, watching his fingers and his work, and then she giggled.
"Very good!" she clapped her hands to show him how proud she was of him. "Yes, that's right! And with some practice you can do it even better and be just like me!"
She heard Bingly clapping at them, and she blushed faintly, but she kept right on smiling. She was so happy ... she had never had such fun before. But as the octopus swam off, she looked at Bennet in surprise.
"Where is Bingly going?" she asked curiously.

Bennet looked up his cheeks even darker red from her praise and his smile so big it hurt his cheeks. "He said he is going to get us some food wail we finish making the blankets."
He smiled. Not minding being alone with the female. She was so much fun and so nice. He really enjoyed her company, almost as much as Bingly's.
He then looked sad, "Y...you don't want to be alone with me?" He asked with worry.

Higoi nodded her understanding when Bennet explained where Bingly had gone, and then she returned to her weaving - until Bennet asked her what she thought was a very strange question.
"I ... why wouldn't I want to be alone with you?" she blinked at Bennet in surprise. Had she made him think that way? How? Why? How could she undo it? She wanted him to know that she was happy to be with him, but how could she do that?
"I just was wondering where he went," she tried to explain, "because he left so fast ... I ... I like being with you!"

Bennet shruged, "I am sorry I just...well you seemed scared that he was leaving...I thought maybe it was because of me..." He smiled, "I am glad it is not me." He giggled and moved over to hug Higoi. "I am sorry...I just worry." He looked down, "I normally just hide when Bingly goes off."

Higoi hugged Bennet back, dropping her weaving so that she could use both arms and hug him tightly.
"You're my bestest friend," she giggled into his shoulder. "Why would I be scared of you?"
She didn't hide when she was alone, either - but then, she was used to being alone. Still, it made her glad to know that she helped Bennet to be brave when their little octopus friend wasn't around.
"We can be brave together," she told him warmly, "and we won't have to be scared of things!"

Bennet smiled and nods nuzzling against Higoi's shoulder. "Thank you...I will be brave when you or Bingly are with me." he said and slowly sat back. "I am sorry...I was just a bit confused....you sounded a bit worried when Bingly left thats all."
He sat back and grabbed his weaving again to start it up. He wanted to have his and Higoi's blankets finished for when Bingly came back.

Higoi blushed and looked down at her weaving, her cheeks growing red once more.
"Well, I'm always worried," she murmured softly. "I'm sorry ... I didn't mean to make you worried too ..."
After all, if they both worried when they were alone, who was to say that Bingly wasn't worried when he was alone? Maybe he was just doing what he was doing to be brave, and maybe he wasn't any different from her or Bennet.

Bennet smiled, "Yes I am sorry I worried you too...no your very brave...you were sitting above water by yourself...I have never gone fully above the water.... Or away from it...' he laughed as he started to weave in bunches again.
"Oh no I forgot to smooth it."

Higoi's blush grew deeper.
"Well ... I was by myself no matter where I was," she murmured, reaching to take hold of the corner of Bennet's blanket so that he could smooth it out. "So it didn't really matter if I was down here or up there. Here, if you pull on the threads carefully, you can still smooth it out ..."
She showed him how, holding the edge so that the weeds wouldn't be pulled all the way through.
