Leslie spotted Kale and gave her usual, child-like smile.
"Hi! I'm Leslie." she said politely, "It's nice to meet you, really! Are you new to the band? I don't remember seeing you around last year..."
She hoped that he was new, or she made a rather embarrassing mistake... and she hoped that wasn't the case.
She twirled her hair with her finger, showing the obvious nervousness that was creeping up on her.

JimJim the Candyman Marie rolled over in bed, looking at the clock. "Augh, I'm late for band again..." she muttered, tugging on a shirt and jeans. She grabbed an apple in the kitchen then headed out the door. Fortunately for the young junior, she lived right behind the school. Marie ran into the band room, then looked at the clock. Sweet, I didn't think I'd be early! she thought, smiling sleepily. The girl then lay down next to Cameron. "How's it goin' this morning?" she half yawned. Marie didn't hate band, unlike a lot of the band students. She just didn't care for waking up, expecially after sleeping in until 2 in the afternoon most of the summer. Cameron was happy to be talking to Marie, but couldn't smile because of how tired he was. "Not so great. heheh. What about you? You over-slept too, huh? Cameron decided to sit-up as well, since she was talking to Jaedan at the same time.

Keep me in your dreams...
With conversations suddenly filling the air around him consisting of only giggles, 'I've missed you's' and screams of joy, it was not very difficult to realize that Caden's thoughts were muffled and almost snuffed out. This was the very situation of which he had dreaded, for solitude was much for a friend than enemy. Eyes downtrodden, attempting not to catch attention, the lad marched on. It was a slight surprise that no one had greeted him, though there was a great deal of comfort in that fact. There was a slim chance that if no one knew him here, he wouldn't be the center of their gazes and whispers. A small chance, but still a chance.
Seeming shy instead of the confident, 'colorful' person that would hopefully remain hidden behind the new plaster that being molded to his mask, the boy made his way forward without knowing which direction he was headed. A smirk was infecting Caden's lips as he marched on, realizing that, unless someone knew him before this, he had the possibility of being a completely original person... One who most hopefully wouldn't be drawn to.
Most would categorize everyone in the room as 'band nerds', but Caden thought about their categories differently. If he ever got to know them, which wasn't very likely, it was only then that he would make a judgment. Labels were one of the few things that the lad could not stand, and he wouldn't be a part of their cruelty. Other means of rudeness didn't phase him, however. His downtrodden vision allowed him to see three people in a row, all lying on the floor. The only reaction he had was raising his left eyebrow and looking at them for a moment.
So I can still make you smile.

As Cameron was still communicating with MArie and Jeaden, his peripheral sight saw a band student who looked rather shy. but Cameron is always the excitement of band, and wanted to make everyone feel like home. This is our family away from family, right?
"Hey, What's up," said Cameron, intended at the student(Caden).
"You know, you can hang with us if you want, we're all cool, we won't bite. I'm Cameron."

"DUUUDE! MARIEEE!! THIS THING IS SWEEEEET!!" Jaeden exclaimed. "Thank youu!!!" He embraced her in a hug.
Just then, Cameron had invited another student to hang out with them.
"Yeah come hang out with us!" Jaeden encouraged, "I'm Jaeden."

Leslie gave a smile,
"Well, I'm sure you'll love it here...especially in the band." she said, "I know I do, and so many others. It's great! So, what do you play?"
She tilted her head, ever-so-slightly and it made her look even more innocent then she usually did.
Jonathan watched them talk and he stretched. He couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy...but he always felt like that when another guy talked to her...even if it was her cousins or something.... but he kept an eye on her anyway, since, when it came to Leslie, he wanted to make sure everything was alright.

Kale smiled back at her politely then suddenly had feeling he was being watched but he didn't pay much attention to it. "Currently I'm playing marimba, but i would really love to play snare. And what do you play may I ask?"

Sierra had gone into her office for now, and had reclined in her chair. The band director's chair at Cedardale was considered one of the best: cushioned, armrests and cupholders, and a way to recline the whole way without fear of falling.
She closes her eyes, sighing, remembering one of her times on the band bus...
Sierra had not yet fallen asleep. But then, who could tell when she was on the most crowded bus, the bus where people slept sitting up. The gentle sound of rain pattering on the metal roof of the bus was comforting, but Sierra felt lonely, since everyone was asleep. She saw G turn around to check on everyone, and a car passes by at that moment, illuminating her face and making her eyes glow. She blushes, knowing that the darkness had covered her blush.
"Not asleep yet, are you?" G asks, and she murmurs back a quiet 'Yeah.'
"You look exhausted. Can you not sleep because its so crowded?"
"Kindof..."
"At our next stopping point, come up here. There's room."
"O-okay..."
The bus stops at a red light, and Sierra climbs over her sleeping bandmates, and sat beside G. Her arm brushes his as she covers her mouth to cough, which wasn't bad, considering it was before the accident.
"You're extremely warm. Are you okay?" G asks, and Sierra shrugs. He pulls her close, causing her to go into a reclining position.
"Sleep. If you're sick, you need the rest," He murmurs, but Sierra was already out.
Sierra shakes her head, snapping out of the memory. She needed to focus. After all, this was only the first day of band camp.

Marie giggled as Jaeden jumped her. "Yeah, I'm glad you like it...okay get off me!" she playfully shoved the boy off of her.
"Yeah, thank god I live by the school now so I'm not late. The last thing I need is another band teach that hates me..." Marie rolled her eyes. "Hey, at break let's get coffee since you can drive."
"Oh, and I'm Marie. I play bass bone." she nodded at the new boy.

"YEah," Jaeden replied, "DUUDE, I'm totally stoked* for this year! It's gonna be SO awesome and we're gonna get first in EVERYTHING."
Their conversations had gotten Jaeden riled up for marching band. He was getting antsy and couldn't wait to get his quads on.
((*not sure if "stoked" is just a California word. >_> basically, it means super duper excited))

They'll be able to work something out for you." As Cameron was still conversing with Marie and Jaeden, he heard the words "Snare" and "Section Leader" in the same sentence. "Hey guys," he said. "I'll be right back in a second." Cameron got up, and walked over to the two band students. "Hey," said Cameron. "What's up? Hey, did I hear did I hear that someone wanted to play snare? Oh, I'm Cameron by the way, DrumLine section leader, Percussion equipment manager, and 1st snare. What can I help you guys out with?"
