Heather saw Val and smiled happily at her invitation. "Thank you. I am sorry to disturb you... but well.. I know this isn't a great greeting but I am so worried. Amkia isn't being himself. Oh I am so worried about him!" After she had got all that out she sat next to Val and held the necklace out in her hand. She didn't say anything, but just stared.

Valleldia blinked, and gave a soft smile, reaching out for the necklace. Heather seemed flustered, distraught... so the gypsy did not burden her with extra words. She simply took the silver and black pendant and lay it across her lap. The green eye stared up at her- not quite invitingly. Valelldia knew immediately what it was. She had been too long around Fortunettes not to know the spark of the meij.

The head of the caravan then looked at the mother of the almost angelic-appearing infant... and put a soft hand on her shoulder.

"...It's...sibling rivalry." She said.

"What?" Heather looked at Val in shock and then down at the necklace. "You mean... Amkia is going to have a sibling?" Her eyes didn't move off the pendant for what seemed like years. She then looked up at Val, "Can you tell... how long.. before she or he will emerge? Just.. maybe when they do Amkia might calm down because well I dont know how long I can stand his crying... its just not like him and its giving me a headache!" She sighed a little feeling kind of bad.

"The wee one is crying? Since when? When you obtained the pendant?" There were a few things Valelldia wanted to get straight about this new family unit... before she answered Heather's questions.

She nodded, "I picked it up and he started crying, he only stopped about five minutes ago, when I sneaked out to find you." She looked down at the necklace, she was slightly worried at what animal it would turn out to be one day. It definatly wasn't going to be an angel like Amkia. "I wish I could comfort him but I can't, he only stopped when he was exhausted and needed sleep."

"I don't think your family can thrive this way..." Valelldia started cautiously. "Obviously, something about this Fortunette frightens Amkia. I can't promise you that they will feel the communion of brohter and sister when this has transformed- but I can say that it will be better. At least then, they will know that they are brother and sister. What that will lead to, I don't know. And as for this pendant? ...It is very volatile. It hides its future even from me, dripping them in shadows. And as for when it will transform?"

Valelldia hesitated, looking down into the deep green eye. At least... Amkia was not about.

"About now." She said, passing the pendant back to its mother. As soon as she did, a black and grey light burst from the pendant, and it fell from Heather's lap. A burst of smoke filled the air, as well- something Valelldia had never experienced before, but it did not surprise her. In its place-

Heather listened to what Val said and was slightly worried by the lack of knowing what was going to be this ones future but as it transformed into a Jaguar, well, that was unexpected. "A Jaguar...." Heather just stared for a while and the green eyes stared back up at her. This was unreal. She hadn't seen a cat type fortunette around let alone a Jaguar!

"Kala... the name fits her.. perfectly."

"Well... as always... I suggest you exercise some caution with a predator fortunette. Especially with the other animals. It will be more eased around you and Amkia- but a little more... unpredictable with the rest of us. Oh, and Heather?" Valelldia's eyes did not leave Kala's form as she spoke. "Your daughter ... has quite a mind and a destiny of her own. I would be wary with her in any case. The only Fortunette I have ever known to come into the world with barely any provocation at all- the only one that has had THAT much need to exist..." she looked at Heather... "Was named Seira... and she became the darkest, most black-magic powerful Unfortunette adult ever. Just... be careful with her future."

Secra, the snow-crested Banya, lived up to his breed. Too often, he was displeased with his surroundings. Now, with the screaming, crying infant about- and the woman comnig back with a jaguar, of all things.... he was more ruffled than ever- and he screamed above the infant's voice in a grating call as Heather drew nearer to her wagon after her encounter with Valelldia.

If Val wanted to scare Heather, she did, without a problem. This was just all so strange. After all that happened to get Amkia to change both times and she just appeared. "Thank you for the warnings... but.. may I ask one more thing. What will I do if she and Amkia refuse to get along? I couldn't well, live with the noise he has been making all the time." She continued to look at Kala who seemed to be ignoreing them both now, she was happier just licking at her paws.

"Like I said... it should be at least somewhat better. But if there is too heavy a conflict? We may have to take some drastic measures. Moving your wagon to the absolute lowest balance of power... binding their natural powers- cast spells. It will make for a dangerous living atmosphere, but also, somehow, a safer one." She stood, making to leave for WhistleStick.

"Do not despair. The meij never gives us a child unless we were meant to have it."

Heather nodded, "Thank you Val, thank you so much." Now was the time she dreaded. She had to take Kala back to the wagon to meet her brother.

With a gulp she turned to look at her daughter, she was slightly scared after all, a jaguar was always scary even if it was your own daughter! Heather forced a smile and looked down at her. "Kala, come on." She wasn't going to try and pick up the cat unless she refused to follow, which, luckily she didn't.

As they neared the caravan Amkia's screams could already be heard and then there was the Banya bird giving out his own little thing which she attempted to remember best she could. She then opened the birds cage so he could go stretch his wings, she left food in his cage knowing he would come back for it.

Now was the time she dreading. "Kala, be nice to your brother." She spoke sternly but that cat was already at the wagon door, her tail moving strangely from side to side.

Heather closed her eyes and opened the wagon door. Instantly the crying stopped which shocked her and she opened her eyes. Kala had jumped up and was staring into Amkia's eyes. The poor boy looked terrified but they seemed to be talking, maybe something but Heather knew she couldn't break them up, not yet.

How long it took them to sort things out she wasn't sure but it was obvious in seconds who was on top. Kala curled up on the bed and Amkia just stared at her.

Heather walked over and picked Amkia up, kissing him, she also sent the dogs outside, she wasn't going to risk leaving them inside with that new baby of hers.

Once the dogs were out she sat on the bed, Amkia on her lap, he was glowing a little but he still seemed different, he wasn't going to be the same child as he was. His sister scared him and Heather hoped she would stay as a cat for a long time yet, after all, she could do more damage when she becomes an infant and then a child.

It didn't take Heather long to realise she was suppose to be going back to the group. Oh how things were getting complicated. She was till holding Amkia in her arms and she looked down at the cat.

"Kala." One green eye opened and peered up at Heather. "I have got to go back to the group, I hope you don't mind but maybe you should stay here?" The cat hissed a reply and jumped off the bed standing at the door. "Kala, I dont have the engery, please behave yourself." She then opened the door and headed back to the circle.

Heather made her way slowly back to the others. Amkia wanted to try walking, something he liked to do so carefully, watching Kala, Heather put him down holding one of his hands as he attempted to walk, stumbling every now and then.

Kala trotted ahead most of the time but occassionally she would dissappear for a minute or two in the trees, it worried Heather but then Kala was a cat, it must be natural.

It wasn't untill she saw this leaping creature she first realised the problem that Kala was going to be. Claws out and teeth showing she had climbed a tree and pounced at Amkia, Heather had got to him firt and picked him up. He wasn't crying, just in shock. He didn't say a word, he just stayed in her arms, his eyes watching the cat slink around in the shadows.

"Kala, What do you think your doing?" Heather was nearly in tears but Kala just turned to look at her; her bright eyes seemed to laugh at Heather and she showed her teeth briefly before continuing to walk. "Oh what are we in for..."

After going to see Oqaia and spending a few hours with her new son, it was clear to Altaira who he should meet for a start. She'd met Heather first, herself. A solitary animal such as a bobcat was going to need to be introduced slowly, she thought. He acted like a kitten around her - despite being of adult size - obviously seeing her as his mother. But he had shied away from the whole group. And Heather seemed to be over in her caravan...least Al thought she was...

Besides, the poor girl had seemed so down about Kala and the Banya bird's saying about her Angel. Sindri following at a short distance, using what cover he could to 'stalk', she walked over.

"Hello, Heather?"
