"I did, i met lots of people they were nice."
she smiled and held her hand out to a bluejay that was sitting in the tree above them, it flew down and landed on her hand
"But i liked the animals best, Momma said that when she found me there were a bunch of animals all around me, she said they were guarding me."
the bluejay hopped onto the table to look up at alice
Cassie just watched shaking her head

Staring in utter awe once more, the child leaned forward to look at the bird, scared to even breath, lest she scare it. Carefully, she extended a small finger in front of her - turned so the length of it was held towards the bird, the tip pointing off to the side. She wasn't quite sure if she should try to touch it or not, but she might offer.
Harriet smiled, watching the exchange, but was a tad worried about the whole matter. He didn't want his little one hurt or sick.

Fiona watched as did Cassie as the jay looked at aliced finger a moment then hopped onto it. His feet wrapped around her finger but he didnt dig his claws in to keep his balance.
Cassie leaned toward Harriet just a tiny bit and spoke softly explaining,
"Fiona has a talent with animals, that jay wont hurt your girl."

"Well that's good to know. I was hoping so but I really don't know such things yet." he whispered back quietly.
Alice looked positively delighted at the turn of events and carefully lifted up her other hand to gently stroke the bird's head. It was in all honesty one of the most amazing things she'd ever seen! This little bird was so SOFT! And it didn't dislike her!

Fiona smiled happily, happy to see that Alice was happy. she made a soft twetery sound and the bird chirped back
Fiona put her chin in her hands and watched Alice and the Bluejay
"I dont know how she does it, they just seem drawn to her. Scared me pretty good when we woke up one morning on the reserve in africa and there was a pride of lions sleeping outside the hut

"That does sound a little unnerving." the man replied. "I am sure Alice would find that an utterly wonderful ability, though. She seems to love anything and everything she meets."
Almost cooing, the girl pet the little bird and smiled over at her friend. "The birdy is soft." she intoned in her sweet little voice.

She nodded and smiled
"Baby bunnies are really soft too"
Cassie nodded there had been a lot of odd stuff happen in africa with the animals, but she got some really good shots of them too

"Oooooooooh! Bunnies! I see them aaaaaaaall the time in books. They're cuuuuuuute! And they have teefs like me!" Alice said, pushing forward her overgrown front teeth a little bit so it could be seen.
The child's grammar and ability to speak right was waning, but this was partly due to both not paying attention and to being excited.

fiona squeeled at Alices slur and hugged her
"You are so cute!"
she exclaimed
Cassies' beeper went off and she looked at it and growled to herself but looked away from it

About that time, Harriet's went off as well. "Oh dear." he mumbled, checking at it. "Bella's off early."
The jay had fluttered off of Alice's finger when the other girl grabbed her into a hug and she squeaked happily.
Standing up, Harriet sadly had to end the meeting after the hug did. "Alice, honey, Bella apparently is off earlier than expected and we need to go get her - she wanted to go out to the movies with us, remember? How about you write down your phone number for Fiona and she can call you and see about you coming over later on, hm?" the man tried to be reasonable, pulling a small slip of paper and a pen from his pocket and giving them to his daughter.
Scrawling carefully the big numbers her father and sister had taught her to write, the Herald wrote down her home number so Fiona could call her. Handing it to the other girl, Alice gave her new friend a huuuuuuuuge hug and waved to Cassie, sadly having to bid her farewells to go and get Bella. But they would definitely meet up again some day!

Fiona took the paper and handed it to Cassie so she could put it safely into her wallet. Cassie nodded to Harriet and waved to Alice.
"She'll give you a call when her room is clean so you can come visit."
Cassie said as she put her hand on Fionas sholder before stering her away down the side walk back to the bike,
"Sorry kido i got a message from the boss."
