~The Find~
"...have NO IDEA what you're talking about, Shorty," Rabid argued with Liam as the family returned home.
"Oh, but I do! He's a bloody demon-posessed freakzoid! I mean, not that he's not a nice guy, but he could kill you, Rabid!"
"Oh, shove it, jealousy boy."
"I'm not jealous!"
"Look, Ma!" Clemmie called as she picked something up off the floor, "LOOK!"
Rabid took the paper in her hand, and a slow grin spread across her face.
"Wha' izzit?!"
"Oooh, yay! A piece of paper! Let's all freak out!"
"Shut up, you idiot. It's your quest, Ike! You can be a kid like Len and Dei and Rex once we can figure it out!"
"Awezume!"
"OOOOOH!"
"Huh?"
"...but...I really haven't...noticed..." Rabid peered around her room, suddenly noticing the gnawed-upon pencils...the bite marks in her son's pillow...
"Ooooh my..."

~The Violin~
Ike sat awake late at night, strumming silently on his bass. His sisters had long since gone to bed, and even Mummy and Liam were beginning to act tired. He wanted to practice, though, before going to bed himself. The squirrel boy then decided to plug in the instrument.
He did so, and strummed a few chords. ACK! They sounded terrible. Absolutely horrible. His claws raked the strings that shouldn't have been plucked (among other things) and the chords were moreso random bursts of jumbled notes.
Ike huffed in frustration and unplugged his bass, tossing it into the corner with a satisfying cracking sound. He contemplated for a long moment before picking up his violin. He could live without the deep, adrenaline-inducing tones of a bass, but not quite without the shrill, sorrowful ones of his violin.
He took a deep breath and rested the instrument under his chin, removing his bow from its case and drawing it against the strings, producing a single note.
Wait...one note? As in, a single note? No others hit? No terrible screeching?
He tried again, and again hit a perfect note.
It's a B flat.
Wow! Since when had he known notes? Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes and drew the violin bow against the strings, moving his fingers nimbly on its neck.
A song! He was playing a song!
Absolute glee engulfed him, and he just listened to the music. His own music! It was amazing. Unbelievable. How could it be happening? At the moment, he didn't care. He continued playing, as if this sudden talent would be gone the moment he stopped.
"Woah..." Rabid murmured quietly, "How...how is he doing that?" Both she and Liam had been watching Ike since he'd thrown his bass into the corner.
"I don't know," Liam said, but then came upon a stunning realization, "I think...I think William was a violinist..."

~Halfies~Ryoukai_Angel Riyu had been bored that morning and
decided to go for a walk. Whistling to himself, he cleared his mind of all
thought, one of his odd habits. He had just been kicked out of his mother's
house again, because his family was having a reunion. His mother had been quite
apologetic as usual, but Riyu was quite used to it by now. Since he gets thrown
out so much, however, Riyu became quite the wanderer.
During his walk, he made several wrong turns without realizing, and somehow
ended up on a strange path leading off to a new territory he had not yet
explored. Going a bit further down, he faintly can hear some music.
o-o? Hm...interesting...! Rabid Ice Weasel Ike sat on the edge of the bridge,
his eyes closed, playing his violin. He was getting far too into it to notice
much else aside from his own movement; his own music. He kicked his feet in
time, scuffing them against the rough sides of the bridge.
Rabid had an opened novel in her lap to make for a quick recovery, because she
was, in truth, just sitting and listening to her son. She, though, had the
presence of mind to see someone approaching from far down the path. She raised
her arm high above her head and waved, wondering who it was.
Ryoukai_Angel Drawn by the music, he smiles as he
recognizes it is from a violin. As he gets closer, he appreciates the music a
bit more-it's nothing like his son's banging of pots and pans at home, though at
times he can appreciate that as well. He squints and sees a small squirrel boy
and what he assumes to be as his mother.
Once he is close enough, he waves. He decides against speaking so he doesn't
interrupt the child's play. Rabid Ice Weasel "Bonswa!' Rabid greeted the man in Creole and
held out her hand for him to shake, "I'm R...they called me Rabid." Introducing
yourself with a nickname such as hers was never quite easy.
Ike's ears snapped backward at the sound of his mother's voice. Was
there someone else here? He stopped playing abruptly and whipped his head
around. Gah! Random stranger!
The boy quickly grabbed his violin case and began to pack everything away.
Nobody was supposed to see him play! That's why they'd come out so far!
Ryoukai_Angel He offered his hand in return and
shook it vigorously. Though he looks to be a highly intelligent older male, his
childishness is apparent right away.
He seemed a bit disappointed that the young lad had chosen to stop his
playing.
^^;; "Hey now...that was some good violin you played there!" o-o "And I'm not harmless!" Rabid Ice Weasel Rabid retracted her hand a bit quickly. His
touch kinda itched. She rubbed her hand on her pant leg to try and get the
tingle to stop. Her smile didn't disappear, though.
"That's my son. Malachi."
"Ike," the squirrel boy corrected as he spun around to face the man,
his violin case clutched tightly in his lap, "Hi."
Ryoukai_Angel He smiled at the boy.
"Nice to meet you, Ike!"
The sun glinted off his silver necklaces. He bent down slightly and
pointed at the violin case. "Mind playing that again? I
rather liked it." Rabid Ice Weasel Ike peered down at the case in his
lap before peering back up at the man.
"No," he said quite seriously, his eyes following the cross around his
neck.
"Er...excuse him," Rabid scratched the back of her neck, "He doesn't like
audiences much." She laughed nervously and gave her son a kind of
'be-nice-or-I'll-be-forced-to-strangle-you' look.
Ryoukai_Angel "Ah, I see. That's too
bad." Notices the look Rabid gives her son and
smiles. "Eh, don't worry about it too much. I know what
it's like."
Follows Ike's gaze to his necklaces and holds em up.
"Like em? I'm going to get a demon insignia on the second
one soon." Rabid Ice Weasel "Alright," Rabid gave a small smile. Only
then, though, did she notice the cross on the end of the man's chain. Something
was definitely not right about him, but she just couldn't put her finger on it.
"Get it away from me," Ike stated simply, his pupils narrowing into
slits. He knew enough to know that Vampires and religous icons didn't mix
well.
"Malachi!" Rabid shook her head at her son, "I'm sorry. We...err...crosses can
cause severe pain. Or death." She grinned broadly, pointedly flashing her fangs.
Ryoukai_Angel Blinks, then hides the cross necklace
under his t-shirt embarassed. Flashes an apologetic smile, backs slightly away
from the two of them and rubs the back of his neck. "Aa...I
apologize for that..."
Wishes his father would grant him the demon insignia already.
Sighs. He should've known better by now, realizing that wherever he usually
goes, his mother's blood is usually cursed for their existence. Times like this
make him hate his mixed heritage. Rabid Ice Weasel "It's alright," Rabid shrugged, "There's not
many Vampires out here. let alone halfies. It's not your fault." It was times
like these when she hated her background.
Ike continued staring, having to turn his head slightly to get around
his blind spot. He didn't like the creepy guy standing so close to Mummy.
Ryoukai_Angel He sweatdrops at the mention of
half-breeds. Plays with the other chain necklace a bit nervously.
"Are half-breeds not appreciated around these
parts?" Rabid Ice Weasel "They'd better be," Rabid laughed, "I am one.
More of a...tri-breed...but still." Ah, the joys of being a social outcast.
Ryoukai_Angel Blinks and feels a bit more
comfortable. He flashes a small smile. "Really? What a
coincidence. I'm a half-breed as well." Rabid Ice Weasel "What of, if you don't mind me asking?" Rabid
inquired. Maybe this would explain why he made her so damned itchy.
Who cares? Ike though and huffed.
Ryoukai_Angel Feels slightly embarassed. His story
always sounds so farfetched, especially because of the two breeds he is a mix
of. It is no wonder he is the only one in the whole family that was attempted.
People don't normally believe him until he reveals his odd
traits. "Well...light angel and hell
demon..." Rabid Ice Weasel "Ah. That explains it," Rabid looked down at
her hand as if to scold it, "My best friend and her brother are kinda demon-y
too. Hell, I'm a...Human-y Vavvian-y Vampire-y...thing. Welcome to the club."
She gave a short laugh.
Ike just mumbled under his breath, peering off to the side at nothing
in particular.
Ryoukai_Angel Rubs the back of his neck sheepishly
and looks over at Ike. "Guess that means I won't be so
agreeable to him unless I make myself full demon, huh?" Rabid Ice Weasel "Err...no. It's not that," Rabid shook her
head and glanced at her son, "It's just...guys. In general. He has a bit of a
problem with them. His first experience with one wasn't all that grand." She
thought back to her first meeting with Julian and shuddered.
Ryoukai_Angel Sweats. "Well, I
guess it would help you at least, if I temporarily change...mind you, this won't
last a long time though, only about 12 hours give or take a few
minutes...unfortunately I'm still in training as far as my old man is concerned
so...the magic is temporary."
Concentrates on the small ring on the second chain necklace, where
his insignia should be. A red glow slowly engulfs him. He appears again
slightly more demonic than originally. He huffs, feeling a bit
exhausted. Rabid Ice Weasel Rabid shook her head and sighed deeply.
Ike turned toward the man and glowered at him. Now he was like
Julian, which almost made him worse. The boy turned to his mother and leaped
down.
"I want to go home."
Ryoukai_Angel BIG sweat. This was not turning out
the way he was hoping at all. ^^;; "I apologize for
this...what exactly happened?"
size=9]Concentrates again in the meantime and attempts to change
back to his half-breed state, feebly. x_X How do I get
myself in this messes? Rabid Ice Weasel "Uh...I....eurgh," Rabid looked nervously
between the randomly transforming man and her son, "I guess we'd better get
going. It was nice meeting you." She smiled feebly and stumbled off.
Ike had grabbed Mummy by the wrist and was already dragging her off
toward the HQ.

~Followup~Rabid Ice Weasel ~A Follow-up Meeting~
Liam twitched nervously outside the office, staring at the door as
if it was about to wrench itself from its hinges and violate him. He'd been
standing there for a good ten minutes now, not quite sure of what to do.
Rabid had told him nothing aside from the fact that Jabir wanted to talk to him.
He hadn't shot anyone, had he? He certainly didn't remember...
He took a deep breath and knocked lightly on the door.
Magical_Mishaps Jabir opened the door "I was expecting
you. Come in and have a seat" he said with a smile as he motioned him towards
the chair in front of his desk Rabid Ice Weasel Liam nodded and shuffled in,
taking a seat in front of the desk. He felt as if he was making one of the
frequent principal's office visits of his youth.
Except the principal wasn't usually a large blue reptillian man.
Magical_Mishaps Jabir sat in his own chair, head resting
on the back of his hands
"Has either Malachi or Rabid told you the reason for me wanting to talk to
you?" Rabid Ice Weasel "Uh...no. Not really," Liam laid
one knee across the other, attempting to look casual, "Although I can assume it
has something to do with William?" Even saying the name made him physically
shudder.
Magical_Mishaps "You're quite right. I went to have a
little talk to Malachi and managed to talk to him face to face. In few words I
insulted him, he tried to prove himself with his past actions and he only got
humiliated in the end"
"My reason to talk to you is to compare the information I've got with what he's
really capable of. In exchange you can ask me whatever you want to
know" Rabid Ice Weasel "He's such an idiot," Liam laughed
and shook his head, "Are you sure you want to know?"
He continued without waiting for a response.
"He's...massively telekintetic, can exert enough force with his bloody
mind to make the planet implode...err...the whole...controlling the
undead...and...invading minds. He has to power to drag you into and alternate
dream dimension and go Freddy Krueger on you, and even drag you into a further
dream dimension and torture you there. He's...hold on...830,044,821 years
old. Technically, anyway."
He paused to laugh.
"Or...I am. I could show you...the visions, I mean. Actually see what he
saw..."
Cocky.b*****d. Get over yourself.
Magical_Mishaps "I see. The undead part is farely easy
to take care of, but the mind controlling one... I'll have to do some research"
"Yes, I think that would a good idea"
The more information about him, the quicker for me to gut him open
Rabid Ice Weasel "Hm. Alright," Liam bit his lower
lip before remembering that he no longer had to physically touch a
person. He raised his hand and allowed his memories to briefly flash through
Jabir's mind.
Said memories were terribly horrific. They were all of thievery, rape, handless
murder, children being eaten alive by the animated corpses of their parents.
Most were too terrible to put into words...for Liam, anyway. The flood ended, of
course, with William tearing his way through Liam's own bloody throat.
"Pleasant guy, eh?"
Magical_Mishaps "Oh yes, really charming" he was so
furious at what William was he didn't noticed he had cracked a hole in the wall
with his tail or that his fists were dripping blood from sinking his claws in
them
"Do you think he can gain access to his old power again?" Rabid Ice Weasel Liam nervously reached out,
wanting to stop the bleeding or...something, but froze in that position.
"No. Definitely not. He's some...formless spirit aimlessly wandering space. He
would have made your skull implode via Ike if he could."
Magical_Mishaps Only then he realized his own bleeding,
when the smell of rotting wood reached his nose. His blood had dripped on the
desk and was slowly doing its job Muttering a few curses to himself he quickly cleaned up the mess, at the same
time he willed the wall's fagments to return back into place
"Sorry about that. The only thing he has left are his memories then!? As for
killing the rest of him I think it would be farely easy with the proper
tools" Rabid Ice Weasel "Pretty much, yeh," Liam returned
to his seat, "If you're going to get him out of Ike...do it right. I don't want
anyone else having to live through full-blown William..."
Magical_Mishaps "Not yet. I know a person that could do
the job. But convincing him it's a completely different story"
"Well, you certainly helped me confirm my suspicions. I believe it's my turn to
return the favour. What do you wish to know?" Rabid Ice Weasel Liam shrugged. He wasn't used to
getting things in return, and rarely ever wanted them anyway. Asking about
Jabir's past seemed a bit too personal, and so he leaned forward on his knees.
"What can I do to help?"
Magical_Mishaps Jabir was a bit surprised by that
question somehow. He took a minute to think before he replied
"Keep an eye on things, making sure no one gets hurt would certainly be a big
help. I often get my hands full with the creeps back at the forest and the
idiots who try to shut this place down"
"But don't be afraid to ask more about me. I heard Rabid comment something about
it during Malachi's alignment test. If I let ask it's certainly because I don't
mind" Rabid Ice Weasel "Alright," Liam agreed. Alright.
If he was asking to ask more...he wanted it, right?
"Fine. Care to tell me of the terribly depressing backstory of the blatantly
awesome Jabir." He crossed his knees again and leaned back to listen.
Nobody that different ever had a normal childhood. This he knew from
experience.
Magical_Mishaps He only nodded in reply and took a few
seconds to calm down a bit before carrying on
"I ran away, scared. I never had killed and now a new rush of emotions was
overwealming me. I specificly remember looking at a bird and for a split second
wanting to crush its hearth, bleed it out and eat its flesh. You can imagine how
horrified I felt at those thoughts"
"I remained hidden for a few minutes before my friend found me. He had that
ability to locate people, never figured out how he did it. I backed away, afraid
of doing the same to him but he stubbornly stayed by my side and didn't go away,
even when I threated him"
"He told me the reaction of the town folk. A few were thankful but most were
terrified by the violence of my attack. Some had turned to Maggie and started to
blame her for it"
"I think that's what made me come back. She had protected me my entire life and
now it was time to protect her back. None of them dared to approach me or even
to say a word. When I reached her I just fell on my knees and started crying on
her shoulder"
"I think everyone understood my reaction but things were never the same. I was
treated with a feared respect, no more insults, no more stones,... no more
easiness around me"
"It became even worse when I realised I could no longer eat cooked food or
vegetables. I started picking up some nasty habits, like hunting the rats and
eat them whole or sometimes looking around in the trashcans for some rotten
piece of food when no one was watching"
"The only thing that remained pretty much the same were my friends. They took my
attack as the vengence for our dead friend, so they they didn't blame me about
it. Actually more and more often they asked me to perform my magic, never in the
same way of the attack of course"
"But soon the retaliation came and it was much worse than the first attack. They
knew about me and what I did, so I was their first target. I don't know how this
happen but I believe they used a poisoned dart. But they must have miscalculated
the dosage because I awoke right in the middle of the battle with a killer
headache"
"As soon as they realized that I was still alive they concentrated their efforts
in bringing me down. Obviously it didn't took long before I was out of my mind
with fear, pain and anger"
"But I got completely out of control. I think it was thanks to the stuff they
used on me because I didn't stoped. I kept killing everything in my reach,
feeding from the corpses that rotten abnormaly fast"
"I don't know how long I kept this induced killing frenzy. But when I realized I
killed not only our enemies but also my friends I ran away for good. I never
dared to set a foot on that town again"
"For months I walked aimlessly, killing for for food here and there but never
geting close to houses as far as I could avoid. During that time I realized what
I truly was and what I was meant to be. I am a predator and a scavenger, a
Famine as I learned later on"
"I woke from that living nightmare in the most unexpected way possible. I had
settled down in a forest for some time, tired of walking around continuously,
when one day my friend was waiting for me down the path"
"I didn't recognize him right away and took him for one of those bounty hunters
that try to slay monsters in their free time. Only when he spoke I realized who
he was"
"I was about to run away again, afraid to face the consequences, but again he
didn't gave me a choice. He was furious at me, which I don't blame him, but
still he agreed to bring me back no matter what"
"In the end I followed him as he brought me back to Maggie. She had been worried
sick about me and despite of what I did and the pain I caused she forgave me.
You can't possibly imagine how relieved I felt, a huge weight being lift from my
hearth"
"But still I had to deal with what I had caused. Maggie told me the town was no
more. Few had survived to the attack and more had died in the aftermath, because
of the rotting bodies and the plague that had spread"
"I couldn't bring myself to face the remaining survivors. Instead I tracked them
down and did the best of my skills to help them out at a safe distance. Mostly
by making their lifes more prosperous"
"After that my life was mostly filled with the quest to redeem myself. I didn't
want this situation to happen again, so I tried to find out exactly what I was,
my flaws and my streghts"
"I found out a lot of things but in the end I realised the main problem was for
me not have had full acknolegement of myself before the first attack. So I just
picked up this concept and brewed it with another me and Maggie had for some
time: to create an adoption house for other Mishaps"
"It took us some time and luck to bring this dream to a successful end but, as
you can see, we managed to attain it"
"And from that point on my life has been mainly dedicated to provide a healty
environment for the Mishaps to grow and develope" Rabid Ice Weasel Liam listened with peaked interest
before nodding in acknowledgement.
"You've done a good job of...making up," Liam stumbled over words, "You are a
better man than I, Jabir."
He nodded solemnly.
Magical_Mishaps "But still there is lots to be done
before I'm completely redeemed... or even cured" he sighed Rabid Ice Weasel "Well, yes. There's always
something to work on. There are no acceptions," Liam sighed and
rested his head on his hand, "You're doing a great job, though..."
He suddenly began reflecting back on his own life...un-life. He still had time,
right?
Magical_Mishaps "It's a bit more than that" for some
unknown reason he could help to smile "My... condition kept getting
worse... eversince I bit that guy" Rabid Ice Weasel Liam thought for a moment, before
inhaling deeply.
"You know...I have plenty of...un-living...things...if you ever need to...take
it out on something else..." he smiled slightly at his memories of target
practice, "Unless you think it would make it worse, of course.
My poor minions.
Magical_Mishaps "I have plenty of game around the forest. It's a dangerous place to hunt but that way I kill 2 birds with one stone. I get my food and keep them terrorized enough to avoid having them lurking around the grounds"
"But thanks for your offer anyway. Is there any more questions you want to ask?" Rabid Ice Weasel "I have a few I want to get annihilate, though. They were...deeply involved in the William...thing..." he slouched, but quickly straightened, "No, not really...although I feel like I'm jipping you. Anything else you need to...want to...know...or...need?" He arched an eyebrow and fiddled with his earrings.
You asked that. Twice. ******** idiot.
Magical_Mishaps "I don't enjoy eating sentients... or at least those who can still bear the title. That's why I respect the burried and their graves"
"No, thank you. I already got all the information I needed and you keeping an eye peeled is more that enough" he got up and offered his hand for a handshake Rabid Ice Weasel "They're totally mindless...they don't even feel pain...but alright," Liam smiled and stood, giving Jabir's hand a quick shake.
"Damn, I'm small," he murmured before waving and walking out the door.

Warning! Graphic Content and Intense Sadism Below! ~Hunting~Rabid stalked down the hallway, her arms stiff and straight by her sides. Her face was set in a deeply angry expression, and her stomach growled in protest of every step. She reached Crow's door and knocked as lightly as her current state would allow her.
Liam followed close behind, leaning againt the far wall when Rabid approached the door. He was in a similar state, although much more loose. He was very ready to get back at them all. There was no answer - the door had been slammed shut with some force, and was standing a bit crooked on its hinges. The front bore a few rows of claw marks - bad moods seemed to be going around.
Julian stormed back down the hall, muttering and raging to himself, ripping a fresh row of gouges down the wall as he walked.
Looking up and seeing Rabid there, his heart gave a leap - if anyone could help, she could.
"RABID." he said clearly, his voice strained and angry.
"Hunting. Now. Please." "Exactly," Rabid growled and grabbed him by the arm, dragging him back to her room quite quickly, "I'm in the mood for a good meal."
Liam followed behind, but not before feebly attempting to fix the door. Ah well. The door could wait.
Back in the room, Ike was sitting on his bed, knees pulled up to his chest. He watched sadly as the adults entered.
Rabid quickly pushed a button on the portal hidden in the shadows of the floor.
"Under no circumstances," she turned to her son, "do you ever turn this back on."
Ike nodded in understanding as he watched a picture of a dimly-lit Vavvian street flicker up from the metal bar.
"Shall we?" Glowering and ready to explode, Julian looked through the portal intently.
"Dibs on the first one," he said, fingers hooking into talons and claws elongating to needle points.
There needed to be death. Soon. Screw morality for five or ten minutes - he had to succumb sooner or later to his instincts.
With excessive force. "I'm hungry," Rabid groaned, "Let me get to them before their hearts stop beating, hm?" She stepped through the portal, turning digital and flickering, "Come on."
Liam invaded Julian's mind for a moment before stepping after Rabid.
That explained things.
"Don't hurt anything!" Ike pleaded. Julian gave a derisive laugh before he could stop himself.
"Please. I'm not going to hurt, I'm going to maul." he said, following Rabid willingly.
He breathed in the unfamiliar scents, pupilless eyes wandering lazily around for prey. He was in a terrible enough mood to let everything he'd worked so hard to suppress come forth - there was no need for inhibition here.
The release of his instincts took on physical form - his eyes darkened, claws grew longer and curved like meathooks, and there was death and cruelty shadowed over his face.
"Of course. I've forgotten my manners - ladies first," he said, smiling evilly. Rabid gave a low, gutteral laugh and crouched down beside a building, hiding in shadow and waiting for something to cross by.
Liam snapped his fingers, simoltaneously glitching the portal out and bursting into his newfound shadow form. He perched himself atop a roof at the other end of the street to watch.
Ike was about to scream at them to stop, but had no time before the portal flickered away. Oh no...
A young man walked down the alleyway, again on his nightly patrol. He was short, as Vavvian males go; about 6 feet tall. He wore a tight, elaborate military uniform, adorned with a gruesome amount of embroidered niceties. He began whistling as he approached a corner, peering up at the buildings. Funny...shadows generally didn't fall in the centre of lighted roofs, did they?
"I hear one," Rabid whispered, standing and brushing herself off, "We approach on three?" Julian nodded slowly, his smile thin and vicious.
"Ready when you are," he whispered. "Three," Rabid smiled and began sauntering in the direction of the whistling, purposefully swinging her hips back and forth. She turned to give brief instructions, "Remember. Until blood starts to flow, I'm your whore." The more dramatic, the more fun.
Liam watched the man below him, his trigger finger twitching. Rabid had forced him to leave his gun home, and with good reason.
The guard, like most Vavvian men, had terrible sight. He squinted against the dim lighting at the figure approaching. Huh?
"Dae'en varie?!" he demanded. The smile grew wider, and Julian sauntered along. It was taking a bit of effort not to drop to all fours and rush the prey from the front, to rip open his throat - but the game Rabid played made the coming kill more entertaining.
"Sha'alath ya grezt," he murmured in response, serpentine words in an evil tongue slipping from his mouth. He put an arm around Rabid possessively, eyes lingering on the man's throat. Rabid forced self-control and refused to let herself slip into attack mode. Not yet. She was, though, quite aware of the man before them's pulse.
"L'anfe non maerie," Rabid replied in Vavvian and grabbed Julian's arm, "I was told you would be expecting us?" Her accent was forced to the surface, although it was her original, natural accent.
It sounded like the decrepit lovechild of German and British.
"Ah!" the man replied, "Of course!" His accent was quite the same as the woman's, although he quite obviously hadn't the slightest idea as to what she was referring to.
Who was going to pass up a good run-around with one of the Ladies, though?
Rabid looked over to Julian with questioning "just-say-anything" eyes. She had to admit, doing this with someone else was all too fun. Hiding one savagely clawed hand behind his back and the other resting on the small of Rabid's back, Julian took a shaking breath, willing himself not to give in and attack.
Cripes. Wish I could speak Vavvian, he thought.
"Y'varaath...ya gezt'th?" he said, almost coyly. "You are... interested in what we offer?" He felt a tad stupid, but was still enjoying the game.
He could hear the man's heartbeat, soft and enticing. How could he not have wanted this before? Hm. Strange. The pimp sounded foreign.
"Of course," the guard smiled and nodded.
"Alright," Rabid gave a small smile before spinning on her heel and turning to Julian. She ran a finger down his chest and pointed to an alleyway with her free hand.
"What? There?" the man piped up from behind her.
"Of course," Rabid slurred and stepped up to the man, lazily wrapping her arms around his shoulder and kissing him fairly viciously. She gave herself a few moments to build up intense anger.
The man, of course, responded quite well. After longer than it should have taken, though, he realized something quite strange.
"Fangs?"
Rabid yanked herself away.
"Yup. Sorry, kid," she said, her Vavvian accent now totally gone.
At this point, though, she had a firm hold on the Vavvian man's wrists. He wasn't going anywhere.
"Julian, my love! Have fun!" she gave a girlish giggle and spun the man around to face Julian, hooking his hands behind his back. She teased herself, listening closely to his quickening heartbeat and resting her index fingers on his pulsing wrists.
"WHAT?!" Entranced by the sound of his heartbeat, Julian crept forward, his face betraying no emotion.
"You kissed my girl," he said, his voice a monotone. He hooked his fingers out again and raised them slowly, letting the light play on his long, brutal claws. He trailed one down the curve of the man's face, remembering his last prey with relish....
"I didn't like that."
He struck once, twice - leaving long, bloody gashes on the man's chest. Lost in furious ecstasy, he struck again and again, claws rending flesh and blood flying in fine spray, coating his face and clothes.
"I'm-not-sick-" he hissed, delivering slash after slash, "There's-nothing-wrong-with-me!"
He halted mid-strike, breathing hard and laughing. Raising a shaking hand to his face, he wiped a bit of blood from his eyes. He leaned in close and bit at the man's neck, laughing as the skin broke and blood touched his tongue. He drank for a second, then staggered back and spit a bit out.
"All yours," he said amiably to Rabid. "I'm good for a minute." The man shrieked at first, a high, almost animalistic sound. He soon went silent, though...and numb. Everything seemed like a dream to him, and yet it was all so real. He felt the blood hit his face, but the slashing didn't hurt, exactly. The sensation was something new altogether.
Rabid wanted to say a whole lot of things, many of which pertained to the whole "my girl" comment. She wanted to. Badly.
But she couldn't.
She just kind of stood there, her grip tightening, her jaw slack. Now that right there was some kinky s**t.
"Please..." the man pleaded, "Please let me go...?"
Rabid was confused for a good long while at the sudden voice, and it took even longer to come up with a good response.
"Tsk," she sighed, "Gre'al a sangrie takes no prisoners."
The man gave a final, shuddering breath before going completely limp, unconscious.
"Awwww!" Rabid huffed, feeling for a pulse. It was weak, and she impulsively snapped his neck, more out of frustration than anything else, "They're no good when they're that weak." She gave a shudder of morbid pleasure as she recalled back that short time to Julian's vicious attack.
"I guess we just have to wait. These guys never go out a--"
"Dae'en mel arie?!" yet another guard pressed the barrel of his gun to the back of the woman's head, his partner aiming for the man near her.
"...lone." Julian eyed the weapon with curiousity, shaking his head slighty.
"No, no. Put that away."
He willed a spurt of fire to life in his hands, the flames dripping from his fingertips like water. What fell to the ground and on the fallen body continued to smolder, brilliantly white and cold.
"Shoo."
And with a pleasant laugh, Julian raised his fingers to his lips and blew lightly. A spurt of flame rushed forth, twisting around Rabid and trying to envelope the second guard's head.
"Never burned anyone corporeal before - maybe the flesh'll just freeze off," Julian remarked lightly, smiling at the thought. The second and significantly taller guard shrieked in agony and tried to rip the fire from his head, and in effect tearing the flesh from his face. Green-black blood poured from his wounds. He collapsed to his knees suddenly, his muscles wrenching in agony, before his brain gave way to the cold and he dropped to his stomach, lifeless.
The first guard, acting on frightened impulse, pulled the trigger of his gun.
Rabid gave a sudden sharp breath as blood spurted from her nose, mouth, and ears, along with a greal deal of brain matter. She gave Julian a disconnected kind of pained "not-again" look before her eyes rolled back into her head and she dropped to the ground. A slight crackling could be heard as her body healed and regrew ever-so-slowly. Julian gave a shouted curse and knelt down, gathering Rabid in his arms.
"Sorry - didn't think-" he whispered before laying her down gently. Turning to scowl at the guard, he rose and shook his head slowly.
"Bad, bad man. You're gonna pay for that."
Snarling, he lunged at the first guard and slashed a couple times, relishing the raging dark roar of blood in his head.
"You-don't-do-that-to-a-lady!" he spat between blows, finally giving up the sport and grabbing the man's hair and yanked his head up.
"I'll apologize for you when she get's back up, just because I'm a gentleman," he whispered. Without hesitation, he grabbed hold of the man's head by the sides and gave it a violent twist. He gave an ecstatic laugh at the sound of breaking bones, eyes dancing. "Nnnnn..." Rabid groaned and sat up, "The...I and the oh...ffff..." She gave herself another few moments before the crackling stopped completely. She fingered her forehead and felt no mark. She stood slowly, using Julian for support.
Upon seeing the guards lying on the ground, the last going through post mortem spasms, the Vampire gave a saddened sigh. Her stomach growled hollowly, as if to accentuate her unspoken feelings. Breathing a sigh of genuine relief, Julian held Rabid close for a second.
"I'm sorry - I didn't think," he repeated, touching her face to make sure she was okay. Suddenly realizing the poor girl still hadn't gotten a bite in edgewise, he winced and released her.
"Er - forgot about that,, too. Why don't you....take the next one," he said sheepishly, the madness caused by his raving instincts abating a little.
"You must be starved."
"Blah," Rabid wrapped her arms around Julian's neck and flopped slightly, peering around, "Thh...they generally just walk around in two-os...threes are rare, even." She continued searching for other signs of life while her speech reassembled itself.
She gave a sad sigh and rested her head against Julian's neck...and the first thing she noticed was his pulse. A steady, repeated pulsing of the arteries and veins in his neck. She was fully aware of the thumping, and almost nothing else.
That terrified her.
She suddenly wrenched herself away and crossed her arms, never tearing her eyes from Julian's carotid arteries.
Julian smirked down at the bodies.
"He said he's sorry, by the way," he said dryly.
Noticing where Rabid's gaze lingered, he ignored the predatory urge to put out her eyes.
No. he told himself firmly. She's one of the people I won't touch.
The urge ebbed away, though a sense of discomfort remained. He shrugged and put a claw to his throat, ready to slice if she wanted.
"Hey, whatever. Go for it - not like you're gonna kill me or anything." Rabid snerked and tore her eyes away from his neck. It was generally the offers that made her snap out of it.
"I don't want to hurt you," she smiled slightly, her pupils fluctuating wildly. She hadn't the slightest idea what being fed upon felt like, but it didn't seem that puncture wounds and blood-draining would be very pleasant.
...weeeeeell... Kicking at one of the bodies in sudden boredom, Julian gave a sly grin and caught Rabid up in his arms.
"You've got the perv-look, you know," he said mildly.
Not that that was a bad thing. He bent his head down to kiss her, then hesitated to wipe a bit of blood from his face.
"We make a sick couple, don't we?" "Do I, now?" Rabid laughed richly and, mildly disappointed, kissed Julian herself. She ignored the faint taste of blood, not quite wanting to tear out the jugular of the only person that could recognize her thoughts by way of facial expression.
"You have no idea," she laughed again as her stomach growled. For some reason, everything was suddenly happy. Ye Gods...sap. Enjoying the moment, he tangled his hands in her hair and kissed her back. There was something vaguely sadistic about making out next to freshly dead bodies, but what the heck, wasn't like anyone was complaining.
"...We should probably find someone for you to eat - you didn't get to do anything with the first two," he said, pulling away with a bit of effort on his own part. Willing his nails back to normal size, he touched the side of her face tenderly, careful not to scratch her.
"Could... could I stay with you for a little while, when we get back?" he blurted, feeling a blush rise for the first time in ages. He hadn't been nervous around her for such a long time, it surprised him how quickly he fell back into the habit. "Of course," Rabid smiled, although she felt her face grow hot. She gave a nervous laugh and looked away for a monent. It was weird, how Julian seemed to be the only person physically capable of making her nervous for no real reason.
"Either you help find me a victim," she changed the subject quickly, "Or you are the victim." Nodding eagerly, Julian kicked at the bodies again as he crept out of the alleyway. Listening hard for any kind of prey, his eyes swept from one end of the street to the other.
"...There. I think I hear someone." he murmured, pointing off into a shadowed corner of the sidewalk.
Another guard, he hoped. They were fun to kill. Alas, the newest soon-to-be-victim was not a guard, but the half-breed son of the king. He was a bit short, a bit off, and a bit too pretty for his own good.
Not to mention the fact that he couldn't possibly be older than 10 or 11. In the way of Vavvians, though, that was mentally and physically somewhere in the late twenties.
He turned a corner and spotted two people standing there.
"Hello?"
Rabid recognized the boy, and all thoughts of a game were erased from her mind. Predatory instinct took over. He was nothing but food, and she was hungry.
"Hello, Dinner."
"What are you t--?"
He hadn't the time to finish. Rabid already had him by the shoulders and was keeping him tightly in place.
"What are you doing? WHO ARE YOU?!"
Rabid ignored the boy's pleas and peered up at Julian with a questioning glance. To her, feeding off of someone was one of the most intimate events one could go through. This meal just happened to be male, and it only made sense to her to ask permission.
"ANSWER ME!" Eyeing the fresh meat with malicious pleasure, Julian nodded briefly at Rabid.
"Go on ahead - make him thrash a little, it'll be funny."
Crossing his arms and grinning, he edged a little closer - he'd yet to have the pleasure of seeing Rabid do the whole Vampire thing that didn't involve beating off assailants in rage-mode. The prince struggled for a moment, trying to overpower the taller woman holding him. He hadn't the slightest idea as to what was going on, but he didn't like it.
Rabid gave Julian a small smile before returning her attention to the prince. She could make it quick, or she could make it painful.
Ah, this brat had thrown rocks at her as a kid.
Rabid bent slightly and cocked her head to one side, slowly opening her mouth. When at the proper angle, she snapped forward, piercing the flesh on the boy's neck, purposefully just barely missing anything vital. She removed her fangs quickly as her pupils dialated.
She wrapped her mouth around the quickly bleeding wound and, feeling absolutely no compassion, quite literally chugged the vital fluid from the boy's body.
After a few moments, she shifted her weight a bit and closed her eyes in complete ecstasy. She made a small noise out her nose, completely undaunted by the horrified royalty's short, sharp movements. It was strange, how they fought until the end...even when they felt the life being drained from them. Even when they felt too weak to stand on their own.
The pulse began to slow, though, and Rabid forced herself to pull away from her latest victim. She licked her teeth and lips clean and threw the prince's near-lifeless body to the ground, her mouth still slightly ajar. Her eyes flickered to Julian, pupils very slowly returning to normal size.
Hm. She'd forgotten what that felt like... Julian gave a long, low whistle. He was impressed.
"You're beautiful when you're killing things," he said in easy amusement, taking her in his arms again and glancing down at the almost dead boy with interest.
"What d'you do with 'em afterwards? Just leave 'em or dispose of them?" He asked, faint licks of fire tracing over his hands.
"I could get rid of him, easy." Rabid nuzzled the side of Julian's face affectionately, resisting the urge to do quite a bit more. Instead, she pulled away and began looking for the least-damaged body. She settled on the faceless guard and, without a second thought, forcibly tore her way into his abdomen and removed his intestines with her bare hands.
She immediately went to work, spelling out "I'm Back" in Vavvian with the entrails. She was going to scare this city back into submission no matter what it took.
"I leave them," she said once finished, her expression still quite serious.
Liam sat atop the building in his normal, Humanoid form. He watched the murderers (for that's what they had to be considered there) carefully, jealous as all Hell for seemingly no reason. Ignoring the flare of bloodlust that surged up as he watched Rabid work, Julian gave a wild laugh.
He was definitely going to have to do this more often.
"Ah, Rabid, that's classic," he said jovially. Wishing he had a camera for posterity, he wrapped his arms about her from the back and laid his head against hers.
"Entrails look lovely by night, don't they?" he asked jokingly, absently twirling one of her curls in his hands. After a moment's careful thought, he let her go and skittered over to the other body. A smile of pure innocent pleasure on his face, he bent over the body and cracked open its jaw. Humming lightly, he ripped out a couple teeth and polished them with his shirt tail, and held them out to Rabid with a loving expression.
"I keep one, and you keep one," he said with buoyant pleasure.
Julian had gotten into the habit of taking trophies from his prey - though he had not yet had the opportunity to claim one from a dead victim. Rabid was disappointed, to say the least, at being released, but her spirits lifted slightly as the tooth was offered up to her. She approached quickly and took the trophy, smiling and holding it up against the dim illumination of a street light.
"Thanks," she laughed, blushing slightly, "We're so damned creepy." She gave the tooth a final glance before shoving it into her pocket and rushing to Julian once more. She slung her arms around his neck and leaned back a bit.
"They'll be after us soon. We should probably go back." "The creepiness is just character," Julian said mildly, pocketing his own trophy and reaching up to toy with her hair again. Standing a little regretfully, wishing the hunt could have lasted longer, he nodded.
"Okay. We can come back soon, though, right?" He said, eyes wide and innocent as he glanced over at the mutilated bodies. "Not too soon," Rabid laughed, her face turning an odd shade of red, "The anticipation is the fun part. The cops...not so much."
Liam sighed deeply and teleported himself down to the ground beside Julian and Rabid. Without another word, he made a motion with his hand and sent them all back to Rabid's now-empty room. Feeling refreshed and happy, Julian grinned at Liam and offered him one of the smaller teeth he'd yanked.
"Here - I got one for you, too."
Kissing Rabid on the cheek, he smiled brightly at her.
"I'm just gonna get a change of clothes from the room - I'd just like one night away from the Moodswing Queen. Back in a second," he said lightly, setting of jauntily out the door to his and Crow's room.
