Marching Band, it's more challenging, and for our band the music is harder for trombones.
Concert band is the worst thing ever at my school I practically play most of the music concert ready with in a week of getting the music I have no need to practice it when I get home (which is bad beacause than I didn't at all and I had fine tone but I wasn't that great).
Community concert band is fun though we get like 20-30 challenging songs to play all at one time (we play 5-10 at a concert, and rotate the pieces by instrumentation) I actually have to practice, It's wonderful because now I am excelling at my instrument and can do thing like double tongue and triple tongue now!!!!!

Oh, why must you make me choose? I honestly can't pick one. I LOVE LOVE LOVE marching band - especially if people would sign up for competition marching band D:< - but concert band also has a special place in my heart. (Chorale and Shaker Dance. Just sayin.) But jazz is totally number one XD Guess it helps being the lead alto, huh?
Let's see... I love the challenge of marching band. It's tougher physically than concert, and it pushes me to my limit. I love the music of concert band. (Except marches. Those piss me off.) Like, ever heard of Metroplex? Crazy alto sax part. And Windsprints. And Rush o.o
But also, with marching band, you get the bleacher band for football games, and those songs are awesome. I mean, who DOESN'T love playing Crazy Train?!
I just can't choose Dx I love them both equally.

I personally prefer Concert Band, if only because my body wasn't built for excessive amounts of marching or standing.....so, go concert!!!

♥ Get to play music outdoors
♥ Great way to keep in shape
♥ Not as formal as concert

It may change this year, for I'm in a band who cares, but marching, just because it gives me a sense of having a family, and football games are the best ^^

I absolutely LOVE marching band!!! Its kinda sad to say but its the highlight of my summer. I get to see most of my friends and plus it gets me outta the house. It kills my pale white skin but whatev...
Concert band is ok but the music is better in marching band. Its always more up-beat (at least ours is) Concert music is more slow and pretty sounding while marching music is more in your face.

but i do like how in marching we play pop tunes its sometimes music i like~

I may have posted on here before but;
As a clarinet player, I really like concert season. I can play out and actually be heard, and I'm personally a big fan of concert music. I like the variety of concert season music, like you will be playing beethoven, pirates of the carribean, and other variations at one concert. I'm not a big fan of sticking to one thing for a long period of time, so about halfway through band camp i get bored of the marching music, whereas in cocnert season it changes day by day, minute by minute because you have different styles by different composers all at once.
HOWEVER, marching band is awesome. I feel like I'm part of a huge family, something bigger then myself where i belong and matter. i love the closeness, the energy and the support you receive in marching band. (I also love how I loose almost 50 lbs every year during this season) I like the feeling of being on field, with people cheering for you and the people you love. I love going to competitions and competing, and watchign the other bands perform. I love it all(except the heat, and the pain...lots of pain...)

I love Marching Band so much more!
Not because of the work or the fun, but because of the feeling you get when you walk on that field, and the announcer calls out the band, and you are all counting quietly to yourselves as you march the first few sets. And then you play your opening hit and the crowd cheers. Then there is the times when the judge is in your way so you run them over xd And finally as you play your last note and you walk off that field knowing you did your best and you don't care what place you come in. That is so satisfying, it can't be beaten.

i choose marching band!!! its just extremely fun and its a great feeling of accomplishment when youre done smile im drum major this year and i hope to have as much fun conducting as on the field

- You stay in shape.
- The only people who whine are the frosh.
- Marching shoes are SO comfy, but not very stylish.
- Getting new uniforms is the best feeling in the world.
- You get to see your band director act awesome!
- EVERYTHING ABOUT IT SO MUCH FUN!!!Concert Band:
Most people are in the class because they like it, but some are in it because of there parents. -
You never know what pieces you will have to play again, if not stuff that you had to play your frosh year and then you hear the frosh play it your senior year.-

Everyone complains and whines during marching season, and we have a clarinet player whose mom is making her do marching. We have people whining all the time because "its hard" "its hot" "we cant sit down" "we have to stand at attention" "we have to run back and forth between sets". The worst one this year is the freshman clarinet girl. She never stops complaining and cocks an attitude if you drop hints at her to stop.

...Hard to choose...Probably marching, especially now that I'm flute section leader! blaugh Though since we're not going to state this year, the show naturally doesn't look as good as last year's so far... sad
