"Quite amazing." he intoned, voice almost a purr as he spoke,
"I have absolutely no idea what it says but knowing such material exists at all is interesting. It's a pity I cannot read the writing, for it'd be quite interesting to learn your people's belief system. Such things have always intrigued me." he explained, carefully closing the volume he'd been looking through and turning back to Talhaver to smile once again. "Thank you ever so much."

"Of course. I'd hoped to find someone who would enjoy them as much as I," Tal smiled. Oh, the strong, dark-skinned man...
"Perhaps some day I can teach you to read it...or perhaps read it to you."

"That would be quite wonderful if you could." the other said, standing smoothly to locate a nice place on his shelves for the volumes. One could tell by the lack of dust and general sheen to his books that he took great care with them and actually did more than put them up there to stay for eternity.
Turning back, he smiled lightly at the other. "It was quite thoughtful of you to bring these to me. I shall have to think of something to do for you now."

"I do not need anything from you," Tal smiled, "It is reward enough to see how much you will enjoy them."

"But what if I want to give you something?" he purred again, walking over to smile at the other. "Should I be denied a similar reward?"

Mmm...purring.
"Of course not," Tal smiled, "If you wish to give me something, I would not deny it." And that was just his old gentlemanly self speaking.

Let's do the time warp again!
It was a warm Sunday morning when a handsome young neko entered Tal's cafe, carefully holding a pot with a pretty red hibiscus in it. The young man had pale skin, featuring a light smattering of freckles across his cheeks, and his hair was a lovely orange color, neatly pulled back in the small curly ponytail. His build and features were exactly like Riot's save for his completely different color scheme. He even had a pair of soft gray cat ears and a gray tail with black stripes upon it. And the gold framed reading glasses were perched gracefully upon his straight nose.
"Hallo!" he greeted the shop's owner cheerfully.

Tal looked up and, at first, didn't suspect anything. He gave his customary smile, but then his jaw dropped and his eyes bugged, only for a moment.
"Riot?"

The man grinned broadly at that. "Correct." he half-purred, ears twitching cutely as he did. "I brought you a present, like I said I would." he informed the other cheerfully.

Tal smiled, masking his thoughts. Oh, so bright and attractive now, if not still a bit big...
"Thank you! Thank you very much."He came out from behind the counter to receive his gift, and perhaps a hug.

Riot's tail swished pleasantly behind him, his expression light and a bit more open. The man always did feel a bit more confident in his other form. Usually he didn't care but still, was nice to actually feel good looking once in a while.
When Tal had taken his gift, the neko was more than willing to give him his hug, should he be interested in it. Though still a bit shorter than the elf, he was comfortable close to the other.

Tal held the plant in one arm and hugged Riot gently with the other. He then moved to place the plant atop the display cases. Decoration!
"I'm afraid you've caught me just as I was going to close up. If you don't mind waiting a moment, though, I'm free to chat."

"Certainly. " the man said calmly, and waited just as he'd been told. He'd hoped to catch the other at a time when he was close to closing anyway - he'd have a more likely shot at getting some alone time with him. Tal was rather nice to spend time with.

Closing only took a few minutes, and Tal approached Riot, smiling, a bag again over his shoulder.
"I'm finished."
