Well, it depends. If I'm playing D&D (I.R.A. Nerd) and I'm an Elf, I dislike Dwarves or I tolerate them. Although Dwarves are awesome and if I were to ever RP as one, I'd be a male just because you can't tell the difference anyways, lol.

The Lord of the Rings really made the thing about the dwarves definite.Most things we know about them has been confirmed from that movie.Now we are affected by it.

I mainly respect the dwarves for their crafting abilities.
There are many theories and such about which race are the superior craftsmen... but... yeah.
By general appearence I like elves more.
Beards on females doesn't sound to attractive.

Actually, it's a myth that female dwarves have beards. They are actually clean shaven. It's also a myth that dwarves sound like Norsemen. I've talked to a few very well spoken dwarves that were more Irish accented. But I have to agree on the point that Dwarves are the best at metalcraft. They work and mine metal, as though it were the finest of jewels. Much like we elves work with plants and wood.

I believe you mean "jewelers".
The elven craft is definately fancier, but the dwarven works, in my opinnion are more effective. After all, they the battle hardened warriors. No need to be agile... although their build doesn't permit it either.
