"Leopon. Cool." Motsu grinned, excited now. He could do more stuff than other lions, but he was still a lion. Sort of... He gave a loving look to his mother, walking over and nuzzling her, "I can't wait to learn to climb! And I'm gonna learn to hunt better too." He said, "Oh boy, does Sewelo know? What about the others? I wanna tell them!" He said, jumping up now excitedly, tail wagging, though his stomach rumbled, "Oh..." His ears fell slightly as he remembered what had happened the last time because his stomach had rumbled.

The look he gave her was returned, with interest. Purring at her son's nuzzle, relieved that he took the news so well. He looked so excited, which delighted her. There was no chance they would ever meet their birth father, but at least he now knew about that part of his heritage. A good spin on words helped a lot.
Sewelo knew, pretty much, because Thili let it slip and then she had to explain it. "Yes, Sewelo knows, while he doesn't know the word leopon, he knows what it means. You are the only one to know of your birth father," That was something he could have, while his brother knew some before him, it was Motsu who got the whole story first. "He knows how to climb a bit, there was a leopard that came by and taught him. I watch and now can teach all of you from your brother’s mistakes." It would have been funny, watching the cub try the walking up the tree method, but she worried too much for him.
Hearing the growling, she chuckled warmly and told her son, "Follow me, I saved what you helped catch." Turning, she walked to where she hid the hard fought meal.

Motsu's eyes lit up, "Then you caught it?" He asked, delighted to know he had helped to catch a meal. He followed after her, hopping a little in excitement. "Oh boy, wait til I tell Sewelo!" He shouted, grinning, though he frowned as he remembered something, "Momma, you need to get your leg cleaned. It looks really bad." He said, peering at the wound, ears falling to the side as he saw the sticky blood.

She nodded, smiling at how happy he was. "Of course," she wouldn't have let him down like that. Seeing the kill, lying in the grass a safe distance from the den where his siblings were. "He'll be excited to know, I am sure." Sewelo adored Thili the most, he'd likely be confused a bit, but that was what momma was for, there to clarify.
Looking to her leg, she had forgotten about the wound she had received, her mind too much on her cub. He was right; it was weeping now but would get infected and rotten if she didn't care for it. She would be nothing for her cubs if she couldn't hunt because of a bum leg. It would also mean she couldn't fight if she had an easy target for the enemy. Although she didn't know it, she was firekin, their fire blood ran in her veins, just tempered by her soft mother, even she could have fought. The only thing that would have show in it, was her thoughts on how she could fight if she needed to.
Nuzzling her son, she said, "Eat, I'll go and have the Ocean tend to it." Giving him another lick between the ears, she turned and limped her way towards the waves. It would hurt, badly and she didn't wish her cubs to see her in pain. She wanted always to be as her name said a hero. Heros don't cry they don't become weak; they are strong for those that need them.

Motsu smiled and nuzzled his mother before she left, then turned to the baby piglet, pride swelling in his little chest. He had helped catch a kill! He sniffed and looked at the marks he had put on the body when he had fought it, then went to bite into the soft tummy, ripping into the flesh hungrily. He began growling as he ate, happiness filling him as his belly began to fill. He paused, though, looking back towards where his mother went. He was a little worried, but then didn't think anymore as he returned to the meat, half-wanting to share it with his siblings and brag, the other half wanting it all for himself.

One step into the foaming waves, then another, the brave lioness continued into the water until it was over her back. Facing out, the tenseness of her body was covered by the water causing the pain. Judging her time, she needed to tend it herself as well, but with all hope there would be no lasting harm.
With a sigh to the ocean air, she turned and started back to the shore. A wave fell over her, sticking the fur to her face. She gave a look, and shook the wet fur out, having it sticking out all sorts of way. Hardly the fur style of a respectable lioness like herself, but it might make her cub laugh.

Motsu had eaten a large portion of one side of the hog, burping in contentment. He looked around, but didn't want anything else to eat it. So the little cub tried to drag the food back to it's hiding place, grunting at the heavy weight, but managed. As he lay it down, though, he saw the trail of blood and frowned, knowing something would smell it. How could he hide it? Thinking hard, he finally came up with an idea, and began digging a hole there in the bush, pushing the carcass into it and trying to cover it with dirt. It was crudly down, but he was satisfied, and, using his paws, swept away the blood from dragging it.
Looking up to where his mother had trotted off, he decided that he should go back to the den, and headed towards it. He heard buzzards overhead, but he was too big now to be afraid of flying predators like hawks. "Hey!" He shouted as he came upon the den, "Guys, I'm back!" He shouted, wondering if anyone was here.
((might be able to bring Sewelo in))

Senatla watched her little son follow instinct, it wouldn't work well on the savana, there you eat what you can as fast as you can. There is no such thing as too full when you might not eat again for days. However, he was spared the harsher life in the rogue lands, living in ideal peace for all his early life besides the very begining. It had been her dream to prove that kind of life, all she failed to do was get a constant father.
Eyes rose to the carron bird above, resisting a snarl. This was too far for a hyena or other scavenger to come, too safe, but she still hated the birds. They meant she'd loose a meal, or might be able to steal one when it got really bad. Walking to the cave, she watched as her son called for his siblings. Here, she didn't have to fear if the cubs decided to go off and play with friends.
Sewelo yawned and stretched out at his little brother's call. He had taken a nap after playing in the waves all morning with friends of his. Shaking out his salty fur he looked to Motsu, "Have fun?" he asked curiously, though he knew the answer. Time with Momma was always fun.
The smell of his breath and the blood that was visiable told him one thing, "What did you catch?" Oo, this was so cool, his brother caught something, surely, or momma did which meant lunch time!

Motsu pranced in, his chest puffing out when he was asked what he had caught, "I got a warthog!" He proclaimed proudly, "Momma helped." He did admit. "Come on, I hid it, I can show you!" He said, though his eyes went wide, "Oh oh, and I found out, we're Leopons. That's what we're called, cause Momma is a lion, and we have part Leopard in us." His grin was wide, "Come on, I'll show you what I caught, and you can show me how to climb! Momma said you knew how." He said, bouncing around excitedly.

Sewelo just woke up not too long ago, the new name baffled him. "Were lions, like Momma, just special." Thats how he understood it, and since it was how he understood it, that was how it was. He was gullible, but once his mind latched on to something, not thing different made much sense.
Shaking his fur out he ran after her brother, "Sure I want to see it! I'd love to show you how to climb!" Seeing his mother, he grinned until he saw the mark on her leg. Stopping he filled with concern, "Momma! What happened?" Running to her, momentarily putting off his brother out of concern.
Senatla smiled gently and nuzzled her waking son, giving a lick between the ears, "I am fine, darling, it will scar but it will heal. Go play with your brother, I am alright." Being firm worked, she knew of her son's way of grasping things, and bended it to work to her will. There was nothing sinister, it was out of love.
Still not sure, but his mother said she was find, so he turned back and ran back to his brother. She said she was fine, so it was completely put out of his mind. He acted like he had never seen it, like he hadn't just run over was ready to pick up where they left off.

Motsu smiled brightly at his brother, "Nuh uh, Momma said we were Leopons!" He said, "Lions but way better." He skipped towards his kill, stoping when he saw his mother. He was a little worried as well, but one Sewelo joined him again, he hurried towards the bush. A low growl rose from his throat and he let out a bark of a roar at seeing vultures trying to dig up his prize. He raced forward, tackling one before it lifted into the air and he tumbled onto the ground, growling. "Hah, that'll teach ya!" He said, "C'mere, it's here." He said, digging up a little of the dirt and pulling the baby carcass into view.

Normally, he was right there in the action when his siblings got into anything. This time, he was a few steps behind his brother and was unable to do anything big with the birds. It was impressive though, the little brother he plays with, and sometimes team up against, had just chased off something that could have really hurt them just months ago. Then again, Momma was here, nothing could ever hurt them while she was 'round.
Poking the baby hog, he investigated the kill, "Alright, way to go Motsu!" He cheered his brother's success on the hunt. It was amazing when he got to go hunting with Thili, it could only be better with Momma.

Motsu looked proud of himself. He felt fearless, powerful. He had saved his kill from the nasty birds, and now his chest was puffed out as he showed off to his older brother. "Isn't it great? You can have some, if you want." He offered with a broad smile. "I already ate." He had eaten a lot of the good fatty organs, but there was a lot of mean on the ribs. "You should of seen the momma pig! She was huge! Momma had to fight her off." He didn't add in how he had gotten lost, and the snake was pushed as far back into his mind as he could make it go.

He was proud of his brother; the two of them would be able to protect their mother when they were bigger. Their mother was the most powerful lioness ever, he greatly respected and loved her; however, it was good to know she didn't have to fight, they would be there. Yep, they would be there for their siblings and their mother. Look at them, fighting off vultures and rats, as well as felling full grown lions, twice!
He had learned a new skill, and proudly said, "I caught a fish up stream." Yep, he was great; the minor detail that the fish was caught between a rock and a log was not to be mentioned.
Wide-eyed, he listened to his brother's talk of the warthog attacking their mother. "Whoa! Is that what happened to her leg?" He looked back to his mother, admiring her for what she was able to do. She told him the leg wound was nothing, so he doesn’t get concerned. After being told something, it was truth and she said she was fine so it was nothing.
Senatla was tired; it was hard fight and a lot of worry so she walked towards her cubs, making an effort not to limp. Nuzzling them both, she said warmly, "Hide your catch, its time for a nice afternoon rest. I am sure you both have such stories to tell and I'd love to hear them." A good rest off of her leg would do her a lot of good.

Motsu laughed, "Wow, I haven't tried fishing yet. I bet I could catch more than you." He said, feeling very rambunctious. He bumped into his brother with a soft growl, tail wagging behind him and his grin wide. "Yeah, Momma took down that stupid ole pig!" He said, though refrained from pouncing on his brother to demonstrate when his mother came up. He nuzzled her, jumping onto his back legs and licking one of her ears, his excitement still rushing through his veins. "Awww." He pouted, "Yes Momma." He didn't want to rest, he wanted to play. So, doing as he was told, he re-buried the piglet and then trotted towards the den, "Bet I can beat you, Sewelo!" He shouted, looking over his shoulder at his brother to see if he took up the challange.
