AIM rp with Reese/Sae

"FRESH FRUIT! RIPE OFF THE VINE!" Reese cringed, but then laughed as a man at his right shouted obnoxiously about the fruits and veggies he had for sale. It was a perfect day for selling wares; the sun was out, but a crisp breeze coiled around the stands with a chilly promise of Autumn. Reese wore a simple sweater to ward against the cold, wheeling himself along in a definite quest. Because Merlin was a voracious eater, and while Reese knew Edge would keep his supply of fish coming, the little dragon did love something caught fresh from the bay.

Speaking of, the mottled dragon waddled along diligently at the wheel chair's side, sleek head whipping about at all the strangeness around. He didn't dare do farther than a flipper's reach from Reese. It was almost like he had separation anxiety...little could calm him down when Reese wasn't in his line of sight. He had no clue as to what they were doing out today...he just knew the weather was beautiful and fresh, and that Reese was happy. So that made Merlin happy, too.---

To Saedah this place was a place full of noise, vivid colors and many scarys things. But today..the cornsnake girl was too tired to really react or register half of the things going on. Taavi on the other hand..the glowing black and green dragon was investigating EVERYTHING she came across. with a WHAT'S THIS?? attitude as well wanting to sample everything edible on the tables. A few times Saedah had to pay for things half eaten and discarded as the hatchling decided it wasn't what she wanted to eat.
Saedah was exhausted, Taavi insisted on sleeping on her bed, and the poor snake girl was having a huge time trying to adjust to that. Ever hear a dragon howl? Well Saedah never wanted to hear it again either.

Of all places, Reese never would have expected to see Saedah at a farmer's market. In his head...he wasn't sure what happened to her. Last he saw, she was still running away, intent on never having a dragon ever. If he hadn't known that DCorp wouldn't allow such a thing, he would have cried. After all, running away meant he'd never see her again. So yes, he was shocked to look up see through the steady business of the marker a familiar pink and white candy stripped snake. However, what caught him off more was the DRAGON that tagged along behind her! "Oh wow," he muttered, and beside him Merlin curiously nudged his shoulder. Why had they stopped? The fluffy dragon began looking around as well, and just as he was about to spot the new friend heading their way, Reese remembered. Sae...was terrified...of dragons. "Merlin! Merlin, here, back up. Come on," Reese cooed, guiding the Pathoor(howeveryouspellitiveforgotten) behind his chair. "Just hang out there, ok? I'll...I'll let you know when it's ok to come out and say hi..."

Merlin blinked his big wide eyes in a sad and disappointed way. Why couldn't he go say hi to new friends? "Aw, don't look at me like that. Really, just give me a moment." There was no way he could explain this to him in the very short amount of time it would take Sae...oh wow, Sae's DRAGON!...to get to them. "Just...please."---

Saedah never had expected to be here either, especially not with a dragon. This place made her jumpy, the loud noises the people calling out...or rather yelling, the fact there were so many people...also made her hyperventilate. But her attention couldn't dwell on it for long...Taavi had caused another stall merchant yell as she skipped back with some weird fruit in her mouth. Saedah sighed and then reached into her little purse and paid the man.

She heard a familar voice calling out a name she didn't reconize. Half turning she noticed suddenly Taavi abandoning the strange spikey fruit to then give a loud chirp and charge towards Reese's dragon happily. It was a very HIIIIIII sort of reaction.
So no matter what sort of hiding Reese was trying to do with Merlin it had failed and the young ashkoort was then trying to snuffle in behind the wheelchair to say hello.

Reese was about to tell the young hatchling to come back but instead she sighed in relief seeing Reese's familar face.

"Woa!" Reese half shouted, half laughed as perhaps the SECOND coolest dragon he'd ever seen came barreling his way, trying to spin around in his chair as he...she...it went for Merlin. Who was suddenly...very overwhelmed. The younger dragon gave a shrill whistle, trying to cower into Reese's chair and hide behind the backpack he kept there, making frightened sounds before taking off around to the other side. He nuzzled his head into Reese's lap, wanting to hide. Too much! No one ever came up on him that fast before, it was too much!

Taavi didn't seem to understand that Merlin was scared of her, she was ...smaller than him..by a smidge at least. SHe chirpped again curious and then went to poke Merlin in the side before tking a very bold step and LICKING up the back of Merlin's furry head and leaving a bright glowing trail of spit in its fur. She purred and chirped again before suddenly reverting her attention to Reese and wagging her tail went to nuzzle any part of Reese she could reach.

"T..ta..Taavi..n.no!" Saedah tried to stop the out of control dragon but it was too late when Taavi then decided to drool on Reese as well. She groaned and then slithered up to Reese horribly embaressed.

Merlin made a muffled sound as he was poked, literally shuddering and trying to crawl into Reese's lap as he was licked. Oh god, it was trying to eat him! Please make it stop! His head disappeared into Reese's side, his flippers making awkward thumping noises as they hit the arm rests of the wheelchair. "Heheh, Merlin, relacth," Reese said with a laugh, hugging the fuzzy dragon pup around his neck and petting his back comfortingly. "It'th juth trying to thaYECK!" His mistake had been lowering his head to hug Merlin; it'd given Taavi a prime opportunity to leave a smear of glowing green drool on Reese's cheek. Merlin remained in his hiding spot under Reese's arm as Saedah made her way forward, and when the seahorse boy looked at her, he...hesitated. She looked so tired, so worn...having this dragon must be driving her nuts. "Hi Thae. I thee, heh...your dragon'th pretty bounthy."---

A scary encounter - Reese and Saedah rp over AIM

The bus ride had been anything but pleasant; Reese was sour and irritable, and was sneering at anyone who so much even tried to mention the blood on his arm. It's a shame...Z probably would have been proud for the way he made people just completely avoid him, but...yeah. Let's not go there, shall we?

You'd never think a dragon of Merlin's girth could be so small. The bus ride was terrifying, and the people looking at him and Reese just made it all that much worse. He whined and cooed, just wanting Reese to calm down and tell him everything would be ok. That never came though, and when the death ride stopped Merlin nearly jumped out of his skin with the hiss of the brakes.

Taavi despite her care free ways had managed to mature pretty quick when it came to her girls needs and apparantly Merlin's. But this was due to the fact Saedah had been scared of her, and she didn't want to be the reason why Saedah had panic attacks so she became the comforter. Smiling to Merlin she shook her head in a carefree manner before giving his nose a glowing slobber lick. Everything was going to be alright that much she knew.

Saedah however took a few more moments to calm down, it didn't help as she opened her mouth to tell him she was alright she smelt it. Blood. She had gotten pretty good at scenting with Geia's help in her last skills class, now she could even tell when something was just about to burn in a stove or the over. Heck even moments before the toast would burn. So smelling blood rose the panic back up, but it was still managable.

"I..I am ..o..okay...a...n...y..yes...s..sorry ..Merlin b..bumped into me.." she murmured ashamed at being afriad of Merlin of all dragons.

Holding onto him she registered if a bit belatedly his hiss of pain. Was she holding onto him too tightly? Pushing herself back so that she wasn't being quite so...clingy she brushed her hair out of her face rapidly as if embaressed by how she must look. "A..are you..o..okay?" she asked clutching her purse close to her chest. "I..sm..smelt blood."

But Reese was moving, and the dragonling panicked the entire time the bus driver helped load the wheelchair bound boy - who was cursing inside his head for being stuck in the damn thing - off the bus and to the ground. He whined and cried...completely not watching where he was going...and bumping into something - or someone. He let out a terrified trill...and hid his head under his front flippers, whimpering pathetically. *Ohpleasedon'tletiteatmeeee!*~

Saedah had been actually walking past this particular buss stop, well slithering not walking. Walking or ..prancing was Taavi's job. The candy cane corn snake girl was clutching her purse as if every day purse snatchers roamed the street looking for her. Then again this was Saedah, even if she was getting better about going out on her own she was still a very nervous and jumpy girl.

"T..ta..taavi.." She pleaded as her dragon had to stop by EVERY single person demanding a pat on the head, like a puppy that just wanted to be everybody's friend. "P..lpp..pp..please s..stop." She begged her dragon who was happily skipping past the buss that had stopped on its route. SO distracted with trying to get her dragon to stop harrassing people and apologizing to those who she HAD managed to harrass in the bad way it was easy to see why having Merlin, a grey largish shape crashing into her would cause the girl to give a shriek and nearly collaspe within herself into a small ball on the ground. Nearly.

Had she been younger she would of been a quivering mass of fear on the concrete, instead she was hyper ventalating and trying to get her anxiety in check. Taavi however remembered Merlin and giving her own excited trill pounced on the furry dragon happily. Tail wagging happily until she noticed how scared the poor dragon was. Tilting her head she stared at him and then removed herself from his body before she gently laid her head atop of his in a reassuring manner. She began to purr to try and calm him down.

Merlin screamed. That was the only way to describe it. After all, it only made sense that whatever he had bumped into was angry and now jumping on his back and attacking him. So he screamed, and began pleading in several frightened coos for it to stop...but then it did stop? And now? Now it was comforting him? Dark eyes meekly peered out from under a flipper, and when he saw it was Taavi he instantly felt relieved. *Ohthankgod!* He pushed and pressed against his friend, making happy chirps as he literally tried to hide under her.

Reese, meanwhile, was in a small amount of panic himself. He'd lost sight of Merlin in the crowd of people getting onto and off of the bus, and all he heard were several screams of terror.

"Merlin!" he called, barely waiting for his wheels to hit the ground before rushing off in the direction he last saw his dragon. "Merlin, I'm coming!" He wasn't caring about who he ran into...finally managing to get through the crowd. There stood his dragon...with Saedah's dragon. And Saedah, who was fighting of her anxiety.

"Thaedah!" he said, rolling over to her. "Thae, it'sh ok."~

Hearing the dragon scream didn't help her anxiety what so ever. Pupils dialated her eyes wide she wondered if she was going to pass out. Then like a life preserver thrown to her amoungst her drowning in fear it was Reese's voice. Clutching to it she managed to turn her head, pink hair bobbing around her face as tears sprung to her eyes so relieved to see someone she knew and was comfertable with she nearly threw herself at him but managed to refrain. More restrianed she did go t hug him though, tightly so happy to see him the panic slowly receeding due to his presence.

"O..oh thank go..goodness its..its you Ree..Reese." She murmured into his ear. Her heart still going a million miles a moment as she hugged him.

Taavi rubbed her chin along Merlin's head and used her long tail to stroke his back, she was use to doing this for Saedah now. Reconizing the sheer fear as something to comfort. Trilling a small tune she made up that sounded a lot like a lullaby before she chirped and clicked to make him look at her. As if making sure he was okay befre turning her head to watch her girl cling to Reese. How...ironic they were polar opposites for dragons.

Merlin nuzzled into the underside of Taavi's chin, purring now himself, feeling a thousand times better. In answer to her strange clicks, he chirped. Yes...he was ok...ish. Reese was here, and Taavi was here, and Taavi's nice girl was here. Everything would be alright now, as long as they were all together.

Reese opened his arms and pulled Saedah into him when she came forward with the hug, returning it tightly and curling his tail around hers. He stroked her hair and her back...though he couldn't stop the sharp hiss that escaped his lips as she squeezed his bad arm.

"Thaedah, what happened? Wash that you I heard thcream?" he asked against her shoulder, keeping half an eye on their dragons. Possibly he caught Taavi's eye, and shared that knowing glance.~

Taavi despite her care free ways had managed to mature pretty quick when it came to her girls needs and apparantly Merlin's. But this was due to the fact Saedah had been scared of her, and she didn't want to be the reason why Saedah had panic attacks so she became the comforter. "A..are you..o..okay?" she asked clutching her purse close to her chest. "I..sm..smelt blood."
"No, don't apologithe," Reese told the snake girl, squeezing Saedah gently. "I losht track of him trying to get off the bush, it'th not your fault."

But oh...the shame. Reese wasn't ready for that. Granted, there was always that little bit of guilt that accompanied his actions. He knew hurting himself was wrong, he knew people would be angry...why else would he hide it? But when Saedah pulled back and looked at him with her wide eyes- god, when did Saedah get so pretty? - and he saw that concern on her face, Reese just was not expecting the utter tsunami of disgrace that came crashing down on him.

Saedah...he'd never stopped to think how upset Saedah would be if she knew he was cutting himself. Now she was going to find out, and be so worried about him, and there was nothing he could do to prevent her knowing. The blood was right there, on his shirt...and she'd want to see the wounds, he knew. Besides, he wouldn't lie to her...not when she asked outright if he was ok.

"No...I...I, uh..." he sighed, swallowing hard. "I hurt...m-myshelf," he stammered.~

Despite him telling her not to worry or apologize sh felt her face redden, she just wanted to go crawl in a hole somewhere. This was beyond embaressing. Her body still shivering with nerves she was trying to NOT play with her hair as it wasn't a good habit to get into. Fidgeting with her purse however...was beyond her. THe poor thing looked like it had seen much better days.

When he told her that he had hurt himself she didn't jump to obvious conclusions. Instead her innocent mind quickly anticipated that he had hurt himself while getting off the buss.
"O..ooh!" she stammered looking to his bloody shirt, paling and looking away before she opened her bag rather forcefully and begane to rummage through it.
"H..How? S..someone...b..bump in..into you?" she asked as she desperately looked for a first aid kit. She carried one with her at all times. Never know when it would come in handy.
"I..I ha.have a fir..first aid kit.." she continued as her fingers deftly found the small kit and pulled it out. "L..let me h..help you." The pink girl managed as she couldn't look directly where the blood stain was but was determined to help Reese anyway.

"No...Thae," Reese started, sighing as it was too late and she was searching for her first aid kit. His mind was swimming with what he was going to do...delay, obviously. Delay as much as he could.

"Come on, let'sh get out of the way firtht," he suggested. "Taavi, could you and Merlin help get ush through the crowd, pleashe?"

Merlin perked when he heard his name, looking at Reese...and immediately drooping again. He could sense his poor rider's worry, though still at this point he wasn't understanding exactly what had mad everyone in the world so mad at Reese. He trilled at the boy before nudging Taavi, motioning to a bench off away from all the people.~

THe black and green glowing dragon had picked up the unease from the boy, she was getting pretty good at sensing these things and quickly standing up began to shepard Merlin over to the bench. Despite him already making his way there.

Saedah however was confused, she supposed it made more sense to move out of the way of the buss stop but her concern was so deeply fixated on Reese's hurt self that it hadn't even crossed her mind that they were in the way.

"O..o.okay Reese." She stammered as they made there way to the bench. Wondering breifly why they were headed there..did Reese want to get out of his wheel chair? If he did was she suppose to help him? Would she be able to help him was the next troubling question. For now though she would only worry about the blood. It was in an odd spot and she wondered how he could of gotten hurt there on the buss.
"A..are you..o..okay? Le..let me use my kit...r..roll up..y..our sleeve.."

Oh, Saedah...what have you done, getting yourself mixed up with someone like Reese? At least it was somewhere public, right? Maybe she wouldn't make as big a scene as Z did. Anyway, once they got over to the bench, Merlin took his place at Reese's side, whining softly.

"It'sh ok, Merlin," Reese whispered to him...before slowly and carefully rolling up his sleeve for Sae. He winced, since most of it was dried and had stuck to his skin. There were at least half a dozen cuts, evenly sized and spaced and each a clean slice. He didn't even look at them...and wouldn't look at Sae. He didn't want to see her face.~

Saedah was doing okay, managing to keep herself together right up until he rolled up his sleeve. Saedah wasn't so naive to think NOW that he had gotten these wounds from the buss. Swallowing she tried to find words, but the sheer mental image of Reese doing such things to himself seemed to break her somewhat stability. Anxiety welled up and threatened a complete meltdown. Closing her eyes she tried to think of something else...anything else...but he was bleeding. She had to get past this and tend to him, even if...he had done them to himself.

You had to girl the poor nervous girl credit, even as her hands shook so badly and she dropped the wrapped compress on the ground, her fumbling fingers redropping the packet several times before she managed to right herself back up. Saedah looked like a ghost, her pupils huge as she tried to take steadying breaths. She wanted to ask him if he was okay...but couldn't so manage a whimper. Tears however were ample as they welled and the slid down her cheeks. Ripping open the sterile compress packet she slipped it out and now clutched it so tightly it threatened to rip.

It was only after she managed to overcome her mental blindness that she managed to take off his old bandage and began to treat his numerous cuts. She worked in silence, her throat tight the only word she finally managed to utter "Why?"

It was so softly spoken it would of been impossible to hear in the crowd, but being that they had moved, Reese may of heard her speak.

He had no words. At least, none that made any sense or seemed like a good reason. As she tended the wounds, he kept a mostly straight face...his nose crinkling a little and a hiss from his lips only when she applied anything to clean or sterile the cuts. His tail reached out for hers, then timidly curled away and into itself. He was so ashamed. He'd never, ever, felt this much embarrassment and disgrace.

It wasn't until she spoke that he looked at her, and felt his heart break for the second time in his short life. What had he done?

"I...don't know," he whispered. He licked his lips, thinking back...she deserved the truth, a real explanation like no one else did. "I...shtarted after the whole thing at DCorp. The virush? It...meshed up my nervth, yanno?" He couldn't remember if he'd ever told her exactly what had happened to him. "I can't feel shtuff like I could. Everything'th fuzshy. Then all the shtuff happened with my da - with Edge, and I jusht...didn't shtop."~

Saedah listened quietly she felt very ...isolated. She didn't know anything about the virus or that he had been having troubles with his father. Maybe she took him for granted cause he always seemed to happy when he was around her, it had never accured to her to ask about his home life.
"o..oh.." she managed the only reply she could think of, the virus messed with his nerves? How so? He said he couldn't feel 'stuff' so did that mean he couldn't feel pain? Well that didn't make sense either since he had been wincing as she tended to his wounds. Confused she gave him a look that seemed to explain her naitivity and ignorance.
"I...I'm..s..sorr..sorry Re..reese..." she managed to start as she finished bandaging up the wound, "I..d..didn't..k..know...." She felt like a terrible friend, as if it was her fault that he was cutting himself.
"I..I'm..s..sorry." The snake girled repeated as she dropped her first aid kit and started to cry into her hands. It really was a pathetic sight, but she couldn't help it. As she felt that it was her fault for not knowing, not helping...but then again given how she reacted to seeing the wounds... she wasn't sure if she could of been much help regardless.

"Thaedah," Reese sighed as she started to cry, reaching forward for her again and wanting to pull her into his lap. He didn't even...know. It was all his fault, every single bit of it. He was too angry at the world and too angry at himself to stop and think about how his actions hurt other people. It just wasn't right. He went through everyone...Edge, and Wilbur...and Z. God, Z. Now he felt like the traitor.

"Thae, it'sh not your fault," he just wanted to burry his head into her shoulder and hold her and nuzzle her forever. He felt so close to her right now, even with all the saddness going on. And he just wanted to stop her from crying.

"I did thith to myshelf...and I hid it from you, and everyone. And...and I-i'm thorry..." God, he was going to cry now too, wasn't he? Yep, sure enough. The words came out of his mouth and the tears swelled up and over. "I'm tho thorry for...for all of thish."~

Taavi watched both of them, looking from one to the other picking up on the fact they both needed to be comforted but were both too ...scared to get too close. Well! Time for Taavi Cupids little helper to ..well do what she did best. HELP. It wasn't like she was a big dragon so she had to literally headbutt Saedah into Reese.

A squeak of surprise and Saedah found herself in Reese's lap in a rather compromising position that didn't look appropriate for their age. But even now..as she felt her face redden in embaressment she couldn't ..get herself to move. Instead she wrapped her tail around Reese's feircly (the girl could be strong when she tried), and then hugged him so hard.
"I d..don't know wh..what I'd do i..if I los..lost you.." she managed crying tearfully into his chest. She really liked Reese, in fact she never truely realized how much she liked him until the prospect of him vanishing from her life came into a plausible existance.

Ohman, this was way closer than Reese had expected, that's for sure. His own face deepened in a blush, as he stared wide eyed at her eyes...and then let out a gasp and a wince as he was hugged very, *very* tightly. His tail instantly curled around hers in the same wanting fashion, and he wrapped his arms around her and just pulled her against him, burying his face into her shoulder and her hair.

"I never wanted to hurt you, Thaedah. I jusht didn't think about...anything," he mumbled against her, feeling his chest hurt as it just settled into him deeper and deeper the damage he had done. Not just to himself, but to the most important person in his life aside from Merlin.

"I'll shtop, Thae. I promish. I won't...I won't hurt you like thish ever again."~

Saedah's sobs slowly become muffeled whimpers, she didn't realize quite how hard she was squeezing him and unless he said something it was pretty obvious she wasn't going to let go. Orpheus would of been proud of her, since one of her classes had been popping balloons with her coils. If Reese had of been a balloon he would of been a very burst one.

Sniffling she just listened to his heart beat for awhile, her mind was still swimming with this information and was a bit hard to swallow.
"R..r..reese..w..why are..a...you..an..anger...y..wi..with yo..your dad?" she inquired slowly trying to take her mind off of his cutting. Even if he said he would stop she still didn't like to think about it.

Taavi glad to have made the pair more..'comfertable' turned to look at Merlin. Merlin looked as if he could be more comfertable as well. Throwing herself at him she licked his face and nuzzeled him all over his little or rather larger furry body.

They were really made for each other. Reese's nerve damage helped soften the blow of the squeeze (which should give you and idea of just how badly pulling the shirt off his skin had hurt before, it if was enough to make him wince), but his squishy yet armored body was also prepared for Sae's intense hugs. Instead the seahorse boy just returned them as tightly as he could manage - which was still a good chunk, what with those swimmer's arms, but still not nearly as tight as his friend's hugs would ever be.

Anyway, when Saedah mentioned his father, Reese's jaw set stiffly, making him look entirely too grown up. He thought about his next words for a moment, not wanting to come off sounding bitter...which he was, but he didn't want Sae to think he was angry at her for asking.

"All my life, Edge told me he worked for thome bushinessh company...making good money bathically thitting behind a computer all day," Reese began. "But then I found out...a while ago...that he'sh an ashashin for hire. A 'mershenary', if you wanna make it thound nisher.

"He lied to me...and Wilbur too, caushe he wath covering for Edge. All the thingsh we have...were paid for with blood money." Oh, ye little hypocrite...you still use the nice pool downstairs and the wonderful wheelchair Edge had bought you with that blood money, haven't you? Yeah, Reese never thought of it that way.~
Oh Merlin, you totally didn't see her coming, did you? He let out a squeak when he was pounced upon, at first panicking before realize it was just Taavi...and she was feeling cuddly. He cooed at her happily, returning her nuzzles and licks, curling his neck around hers warmly and humming a happy sigh of a sound. Yes, this was much, much better. Everyone should be like this all the time.~~
[22:00] kirrachan: Saedah was listening absorbing every word he said, at the word assasin though she flinched, swallowing as she had never met Edge before and now wondered if she would be too scared to ever meet him properly.
'h...ha..ave y..ou..t..talked t..to him..him abou..t..it?" She managed to ask, after all what if this was all a misunderstanding? "Y..you..sh..shouldn't..h..ate..y..our...d..daad..." She continued as she found her own father figure an inspiration. Now..that she wasn't terrified of him anyway.

Taavi was leaving glowing slobber all over Merlin, not that he seemed to mind and her extra legs held onto Merlin quite happily. She was a cuddle bug though she was easily excitable as well. like when Tural was over! Gosh he was fun too. They should have a huge party with everyone!
