Ah, but a pound of green lichen will encourage the clams hunger. Then he will open his mouth to eat and you will be able to snatch your gift. It all works.

You really want to hear about ammophila??? Well, first off is that it is a beach grass. We actually have an American ammophila but it only grows near the great lakes. But the ammophila here on the west coast is actually of European decent, and was brought here in the 30s I think, I don't know but, suffice it to say, a long time ago some europeans brought it over convinced that it would do the beaches good to plant this crap. So they did, in Oregon, to help stabilize the dunes. It has subsequently traveled south to the beaches I'm working on in Humboldt county and has also destroyed most of the natural occurring ecosystems there. Most of the native plants rely on the dunes migrating and since the ammophila has stopped the dunes from moving, it is now no good for those plants. It's even messing things up for the animals, because it's so tall, while the natives are ground crawling plants, it leaves poor visibility, so some of the birds are laying less eggs due to the change in environment. if you want to learn more, you should visit http://www.friendsofthedunes.org/its very informative. As a matter fact the CCC work for friends of the dunes some times.

However, the only thing that would really blow my mind, is if they grow fast after being destroyed, hence that would make them almost invincible, since man has to eat and sleep to keep on going. whee sweatdrop
