Snow isn't immediately as dangerous as a hurricane, but if you get a really bad blizzard with a lot of ice and it piles up, then it can make everything just... stop. There was a bad blizzard here in Red Dirt Land a year or so ago, on the week of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We had school out for MLK, and then we had out the other 4 days of the week thanks to the big blizzard icing over all the roads, and coming back on Wednesday to add on more, too.

I don't exactly have to worry about hurricanes since I'm too inland, but I'm hoping no one here lives in the path of Hurricane Gustav. D8 Best wishes to everyone in Louisiana and anywhere else in the path.

All this hurricane talk reminds me of something funny. I have a friend named Katrina. Whenever she tells people that, the response is normally something like "Why would anyone name their kid after a hurricane?". XD

Oh, Gustav is going to be a really bad storm. x___x;; Is it a level 5 yet? I think Hurricane Hannah is going to hit the the south-eastern side. I hope we get some good rain so I can stop hearing about the drought. 3

According to http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/, it's a Saffir-Simpson Category 3. Sp not a 5 yet.

ばらのきのしたで おちゃーかい Under the Rose Trees, tea time
My friends and I have been laughing about Ike since we've seen it on the news.
The only not-funny thing about it is that everyone in the city is going to have to evacuate if it doesn't drop down to a level 2. Because...the county I live in is completely sea level and prone to flooding. And tornadoes/waterspouts. . __.
You lucky people who live in big cities, where there's not enough trees to crush a complete housing area-watchamacallit. >:

It's not going to drop to a 2 though, it'll probably hit as a 4.
I'm also forced to evacuate since i live on a barrier island. On one side the intercostal, the other the ocean, fun stuff. Wonder if things will flood, or will it be the opposite and easily be drained away?
Either way, the parents and I already have plans for evacuation; I might also get to visit one of my friends who lives in the place we're evacuating to. xD

I don't have to worry about hurricanes where I live unless a hurricane swooped over to the very left area of the Gulf of Mexico, then swooped northward and was strong enough to survive all the way across Texas. XD

Eee, Hannah came by last night and left around noon today~ Lots of rain. Wind wasn't too bad. I heard the coast got beat up a bit but it wasn't horrible. Nothing we can't handle~ And a friend of mine who went to school today for ROTC practice told me Hannah made the school "cry" on her hall, leaving puddles everywhere... Now, Ike is right behind Hannah... the wife beater 3
