"You shouldn't sleep during class Reichi. You never know if the teacher's watching. Heh", Ian exclaimed as Reichi walked along with him towards the tryouts.
They both entered the gym looking around. They noticed both Fate and Toko waiting at the center of the gym. The other small kid with the big bag waiting against the wall behind them smirking.
Reichi noticed that Fate, the mean cold-hearted girl with long hair, had already taken out several participants. She began to speak in a cold-mannered tongue, "Get out. Hate to tell you your not worthy."
Toko chuckled, "Hey hey!! Princess! There's no need to be so cold! Yikes...uh...hey kid. Come back next year ok! Haha."
Fate just brushed off Toko's response as she watched Reichi enter the gym.
Reichi gulped, "Man she's mean. Don't tell me I have to go against her for tryouts. I...man...why is she even in the team? I've never seen a girl in an actual squad."
Ian placed his hand on Reichi's shoulder explaining, "Fate is pretty much strong and she gets to go on the team automatically. Get this, she's the captain. Surprised? If your going against her, just becareful. I know everything about Badmington! I know information on everyone heehee."
Reichi answered, "What's...what's she good at doing?"
Ian smiled, "Her zig--"
"Come to the center for tryouts", Fate yelled quickly as Reichi walked towards the center. She then pointed at Toko, "Choose an opponent for tryouts and see if they are worthy."
Toko smiled, "Geez princess you didn't have to be so cruel. Hmmm who is there to challenge anyways?"
He noticed a girl sitting against the far end of the gym. He ran up to her quickly, "AAaah! Such a beautiful lovely presence that wraps the gym in total control. How cute!!! You and me MUST battle! Or...is there someone else with the radiance that defines beauty? I know there was one other girl with you..."
Speaking of Mai, he looks left and right.

Adrian became a little startled by the boy rushing up to her in such a hurry, as if he were on a very hyperactive sugar rush. Waving her hand, she replied polietly.
"Um... I don't know... I kinda just came to watch..." Her accent was very noticable when she spoke softly. "Besides... I don't know much about the game..."

Mai took her time getting to the tryouts, late because her teacher wanted to talk her into taking a Academic course, rather than the Applied one she was. Mai sighed, and pushed open the gym doors, morphing into a game face.
She set her bag down, and pulled out her specially designed racket, and made her way to the center, ignoring everyone who looked at her. She stood with the rest of the group, keeping an eye on Fate, until she saw that the Reichi kid had shown up... and so had Toko. As well as that, the other girl was on the recieving end of one of Toko's flirtatious attempts.
Mai sighed.

Ranano walked into the gym as well. His small yet slender arms and legs gave away that he was ready to play. Of course as long as Fate had determined it. Reichi took out his racket and walked towards his side as did Fate. She smiled, "So you want to go against me?"
Reichi smiled back, "Well...I thought that was the whole ordeal? Hm?"
"Your right. You want to be in this team...you go against the very best", she replied grabbing her racket.
REICHI VS FATE!
Toko noticed Mai had walked in the center as well. He quickly rushed towards Mai. When he appeared right in front of Mai, his eyes began to shape like hearts. He yelled, "Ah! The gracefulness and sweetness of your beauty! I savor it all!! Ah! Your hear to be on the team, huh?"
Ian walked towards Adrian looking at all four players and that odd kid with the big bag. The odd kid kept walking towards Ian.
"Kinchi. Ugh. I hope he doesn't come over here. What are you doing here Adrian", asked Ian.

Mai rolled her eyes. Toko was starting to get on her nerves.
"Yes, Toko. That's why I'm here." She said, more focused on the upcoming game, then the lovestruck boy in front of her. She wanted to check out this Fate girl, and also, she wanted to see if Reichi made the team. If he did, he must be good.
But Mai already knew the kid had raw talent.
"How many spots are left, Toko?" Mai asked, generically. She wanted to know her chances at making the team. If lots of people had made the cut, then she had a lesser chance. If not so many people had, then her chances at making the team were over half way.

"Generally, three. But we don't need more than one. You see...at the Spring Tournament only four players are called upon. Two singles and one double. So I guess this is my chance to try out your gracefulness. Ah I can't wait", yelled Toko as he walked to his side of the court.
MAI VS TOKO!
Toko winked, "Your so cute cutiepie. Try to go easy on me okay!"
Reichi served the birdie. Fate smacked the birdie back running to the front. Reichi quickly returned the smash by moving to the middle. Fate returned again this time aiming to the left. Reichi responded by moving and shuffling his racket to smack the birdie to her side. Fate smiled as she hit the birdie to the right.
1-0 FATE!
Reichi smiled, "Ah. How careless of me. To quickly observe just one side. Haha, it won't happen again."
Ian watched both matches and pointed, "Look Adrian. Mai's going against Toko the Smash Lover. Haha suits him right, that flirt. His technique is pretty simple. He's a power-house. He has no skill. At least not to my knowledge."

((Haha. Finally, 3nodding ))
Mai raised an eyebrow, but pulled out a birdie, none the less. She scanned through the possible approaches, and decided to test Toko's strength, skills, and speed, first. She had a few points she could let him win, but she only wanted to spare one.
Tapping her racket lightly to the birdie, Mai judged how far, and how fast she should hit it. Deciding on a close range, but swift movement, Mai swung her racket, catepulting the birdie at a higher speed, not very fast, but higher than average. She also aimed close to the net, but behind the boundary line. The shot would be easy to return, if said person on the recieving end was fast enough.
Readying herself for a return, or any other possiblities, Mai waited for Toko's move.

((lol...also...quotes are flashbacks. Just wanted to put that out there.)) Quote: "Toko...", a person answered while watching Toko on the ground. "I...I can't...do anything. I can't do anything right", Toko responded on the floor. Toko quickly responded during the match. He ran towards the birdie smacking it to the right. He winked again, "Oh! Beautiful! Your burning with fire! With desire! Haha!" [Meanwhile] 2-0 FATE! "She's good, but not that good. She hasn't released her true powers yet. Ah! I know...I'll just hit her with my best", said Reichi running towards the net. Fate's birdie was already heading towards Reichi as Fate ran towards the net too. Reichi lobbed the birdie ahead of Fate. She turned around to look back at her mistake. "Hmph. Should've seen that coming", Fate answered while looking at the birdie. 2-1 FATE!

Mai refused to answer him, focused on the test she was giving him. He was quick, about the same as her own speed. Maybe a bit less.
Mai took a step to the right, and hit the birdie back, towards the center, just inches away from the net. She took her step back again, careful not to let herself be open for a point. The birdie was estimated to land just inside the back line, which was always a tough call.

Toko ran closer to the net this time swinging early missing the shot. He sighed as the birdie hit the ground.
1-0 MAI!
He look at the birdie and then at Mai. A burst of excitement rushed his eyes, "Not only is she cute! But she's so smart!! Aaaah!!"
He jumped up and down with glee, "This might be an awesome game! Ok cutiepie! I won't go easy on you then! Hahaha!"
[...]
2-2 TIE!
Reichi gasped as the birdie hit Fate's side. Fate chuckled, "Hm. What an interesting player. He's still so positive."

"Hmph. Do your worst, Toko." Was what Mai said, smirking somewhat. She took the birdie back, and lined up for another serve.
This time, Mai hit it fast, and aimed it straight at Toko's forehead. The kid would have to back up, to hit it.

Toko swung, this time having the birdie hit Toko's forehead. He watched as the birdie fell on the ground once more. He didn't like that she was already winning, but he didn't want her to know that he had no skill. The only thing on his mind was the power shots he had. He could lay some serious ground rules with the skills.
2-0 MAI!
Toko watched Mai, this time with a more serious look to his face. He walked back to his original stance and place on the court. Toko's grip hardened and by the look of it he was a little more serious. He smiled, "...Ok cutiepie. I acknowledge that your strong."

Mai liked the idea of Toko's more serious nature, now. She now smiled, actually smiled, and got ready to serve, for the final time.
"The question is, are you?" Mai asked.
She carefully estimated by the tightening grip on his racket, that he was planning a powerful shot.
What kind of person would I be, if I let him?
Mai prepared the birdie, and swung carefully, gently tapping the birdie, just enough so it would hit as close as possible to the net, and slow. Mai loved to toy with her oppnents, make them think. That was why she was one of the worst, but one of the best teachers.

Adrian's head was moving with her eyes, following the birdie flying from both of the matches occuring. The game seemed so slow to her. She knew in reality that it was rather fast and competitive, but her eyes were just as swift, and so the birdide seemed to fly slower threw the air as it was hit from one to the other.
"It seems so simple..." She spoke to herself, but she knew Ian could hear. "... She will beat him... I wonder if... I could as well..."

Toko rushed towards the birdie as he yelled, "Argh!! Take this cute-face!"
A loud smash was heard from racket as the birdie zoomed closer to the ground. Toko, smiling, watches as the birdie is pummeled towards Mai. He keeps his stance and nature still waiting for the response.
[...]
Reichi walked towards the net this time. Fate had served the birdie aiming towards the left. Reichi headed left smacking it, but backing up in the process. Fate began to smirk as her grip changed. She smacked the birdie to the right and as it went with incredible speed so did Reichi. He quickly ran to the right only missing the shot. The birdie quickly changed position to the left and then back to right and then back to left again.
3-2 FATE!
Reichi put down his racket for a bit examining what just happened. Ian looked at Reichi's match while answering Adrian, "Yeah it is simple if you know how to--oh...no...Reichi..."
He turned to see the shot, "It's...the Zig-Zag shot only Fate knows. Reichi...he must be surprised to see something amazing like that."
Reichi walked back to his side muttering, "What was that now? As I tried to hit her shot, it went the other way..."
Fate walked back to her side as well as she answered, "Something you have yet seen to the fullest boy."
