Abel smiled at the reaction he earned from the little clam-bound offspring of his friend and he continued his soft singing until he heard the sound of another's approach. He looked up, blushing a bit as his eyes met his beloved's. He smiled and nodded when Morgana walked up with the mushrooms. He uncurled himself from around the clams and grinned happily.
"And what good fortune! I remember where the yew bushes and lilies are," he said, walking to Sarah and kissing her cheek as he spread his wings.
"I'll return after the lilies have bloomed for the night," he whispered to her and took off in a rush of air.
The wings otter landed next to a great bunch of bushes, speckled with little red berries. He smiled and picked a couple of branches, putting them in his pocket before taking off into the sky again. Shortly after, he landed once again, this time by a dreary little pond, its water almost completely covered by a green carpet of pads and stubby little buds. To the untrained eye, it was really a pitiful sight.
Abel sat by the water's edge, removing the branches from his pocket and slowly began to pluck the berries from them while he waited for the moonlight to work its magic upon the scene.

Sarah smiled at Morgana and moved close to give her a thankful nuzzle and gather the mushrooms from her. She smiled and turned to relieve Socks of his flowery burden as well. Finally things were all coming together, and Abel would be back with the other half of their ingredients.
She curled up around the jewelweed and mushrooms to wait for her beloved to return. Her head rested lightly on her paws as she half dozed, unable to rest fully in such an unfamiliar place, guarding things as she was.

Abel looked up from his work, having noticed a change in the air. And was a sight it was that met his eyes. In the time it had taken for him to pluck the berries from the branches, he had lost track of the lake and was suddenly met by the view of an entire pond in bloom, soft white and pink lilies releasing their fragrance to the moon they bloomed beneath.
"Oh Lord, this is indeed one of your gifts to the world," he whispered and walked to the water, carefully plucking some of the blooms within reach. He promised himself that he would have to bring Sarah to this place, to share such a wonderful sight with her. Those he held in his paws, the berries safe in his pocket, and he took off into the sky once more, promising himself that he would have to bring Sarah to this place, to share such a wonderful sight with her.
He landed silently near his Sarah, smiling softly.
"Here they are, my love. I have the last bits of the mixture," he whispered into her ear, holding out his double-pawful of lilies. "Let us take them down to Hazel."

Morgana gave Lovett the bundle and nuzzled her back, smiling. She went over to her basket and checked on her clams, curling back around them to let herself rest, folding her tired wings along her back.

At first Sarah believed she had drifted off, and dreamed a lovely dream of the moon filled sky and Abel bringing soft delicate flowers. She blinked and opened her eyes wide at his words. No, not a dream after all!
"Oh Able, thats everything love!" She scooped up the flowers and mushrooms and followed him as they moved to Hazel together. Sarah hoped silently that all the ingredients would work for the potion that the old bob intended. In her heart she was mildly afraid of what such a potent mixture could do, but wasn't the joy of pups worth any risk?

The house in the old tree was much as it had been when Lovett and Morgana had been there first, little puffs of smoke issuing forth from the rickety little chimney.
There was a small flock of mini otters hurrying here and there, doing maintenance on the tree and the surrounding grounds. This time, the door was wide open. Apparently they were airing out the stump a little.

Lovett gathered up the supplies from Abel and nuzzled him as she slipped inside and gazed about. The open door might have cast some light were it not such a late hour, the moon might have helped, had she not been blocking the entrance.
She moved closer and set the items down infront of her. "'Azel, we brought everything..." She murmured softly her voice a mixture of hope and uncertainty.

Abel walked with Sarah, stopping at her side when she did, wrapping his tail and one around her and pulling her close to his side. He watched the bob, hoping as his beloved did as he set the yewberries next to everything else.

"Eh? Who's there, then?" The elderly bobcat looked up at the pair, obviously wondering who the heck they were.
From the top of a nearby lantern, the little hummingbird, Louis, piped up, "They're the pair that came about the babies, Hazel."
The bob blinked a few times, then nodded slowly. "Ooooh. Of course they are. I knew that, you silly thing. Come in, come in you two. So you've been successful then?" She padded slowly around the table, sniffing at the ingredients. "Oh my, those do smell lovely, don't they? Yes they do, yes they do. It's all here, then?"

"Yes, that's everything you bid us get," Abel replied nodding, smiling a bit over her absentmindedness and her attempt to hide it. Perhaps she wasn't so bad after all.
"How long do you think it will take?" he asked, tilting his head a bit in questioning. He hoped to God that this would help, a blending of His creations into something that would help him and his love.

Sarah nodded her agreement and huddled close against Able to try and stop her trembling, she wanted so badly for this to work. She longed to share a family with Abel, to raise a generation that understood the balance of good and evil, prey and predator, and learned not abuse it. She wanted to hear Abel singing softly to their pups beneath the shade of a solid tree, and she wanted to teach her children to create, to make the best of even the hardest situations.
All this and more flitted across Lovett's face in a moment before she steeled herself prepared to take even the risk of poison if the result was what she longed for.

socks hunched outside the doorway to hazel's tree. he was so excited that he had been able to help the nice older otter and her mate. while he listened in on what was going on inside, he cleaned the mud from his race back from underneath his claws and scratched part of a stem from underneath his collar. he knew that he should leave them alone for a private moment, but he couldn't help listening in on the conversation.

Hazel scratched one ear lazily as she sniffed at the ingredients. "Hmmm? Oh. Yes, yes. Let me see here." Slowly - creakily - she turned around and shuffled back to her messy, cluttered shelves. "Let me seeeee. Ah. There's the customer. Louis! The green bo-"
The little bird was already flying over. "The green bottle. I know."
"You keep your cheeky lip to yourself," Hazel grumbled. "Just get the bottle down, now, there's a good bird.
The humming bird rolled its eyes as it snagged a small, dusty, green vial from the shelf and fluttered back over to the table with it. Louis set the bottle down with a clank as Hazel turned back to face the pair.
"Now then," she sighed, "I think everything is in order. You drink that green tonic there, and you'll be right as rain before the new moon."
Louis coughed. "Full moon."
The old bob craned her head. "Eh?"
"Full moon. Two days. New moon is somewhat farther away that tha-"
"That's what I said, daft bird," Hazel grumbled, looking back at Lovett and Abel. "Before the full moon. You come back and see me the night of the full moon, won't you?"

Abel listened to the old bob, and then looked to the tonic. Did she mean for them to both drink it? And there? And then what? Would they have to wait until the full moon to try again or were they expected to in the two days prior?
The young-old otter carefully took the bottle and looked it over.
"We should both drink this? And... Are we to keep trying between now and the full moon?" he asked slowly, dual eyes watching her, waiting for her response, answers for his questions.

Sarah gazed at the green bottle her eyes filled with a reverent hope, this then was what would aid her dream? She pressed against Abel and tried to focus, she knew these questions were important, but still she had the strong urge to just down the bottle.
She steadied herself and ripped her eyes from it to focus back on hazel, she hoped between the bob and bird someone had gotten the date right. She flushed slightly at the thought of continuing her efforts with Abel, that wouldn't be any problem at all.
