A light chuckle escaped his maw at the females words and he nodded. "Don't say things like that, you could never be crazy." He replied, beginning to feel more confident in the situation. The answer was simple, just go with the feeling in his gut. However acting on the feeling was what was proving to be the hardest part. His red eyes closed as he brushed away the trail of tears with a nuzzle, feeling the butterflies in his stomach go into a frenzy when he wrapped his other paw around her and rested his head over her shoulder. Now he wanted nothing more than to stay in this moment forever, nothing of his previous life was plaguing his mind, Deimos was no where to be thought of and all his worries were gone and he wanted nothing more than to be close to the beautiful lioness in his arms.

There was a few moments silence where neither of them spoke. The sensations he was feeling inside begged him to speak up.
"Sandy..." Vulcan started, his brows furrowing slightly as he tried to find the right words and he couldn't understand why they were so hard to say. "...do you...feel like there are butterflies in you stomach?"

There was nothing to hold her back from wrapping her other paw around him and making the hug complete, with both of them stood there in the early hours of the morning in each other embrace. The stars still glittering brightly unaware of the pending sun to dominate their sky in only a matter of hours and is seemed the two had no interest in anything but each other. With the nuzzle she felt a weight drop from her mind especially with his words, sometimes she thought she was crazy, that her life had driven her that way and she just acted the way she did as a cover. But here and now with Vulcan made her push those doubts away, she'd been acting the way she always did all night and had felt just fine and now she was in this moment with him and he wasn't pushing her away. Maybe, just maybe she'd finally found someone to like her for her, despite her history, despite her tendencies to always mess out or say the wrong thing... Just maybe...

As her head rested on his opposite shoulder to the one he was resting his own on her's she smiled, her eyes closing as he spoke her name and described the butterflies. Of course she felt them! She suspected she'd probably been feeling them a lot longer on this night than he, but if he was feeling them and had returned the nuzzle then... YES. Sandy's mind exploded with joy, new tears of joy threatening to well up behind her eyes, he did share her feelings, such intense feelings and if he felt the butterflies then there was only one way to check.

"You mean the friends of the weak knee's... the dry throat, Oh and don't forget the flushes that seam to appear from no-where..."
It was probably the most confident she sounded since her nuzzle, her maw giggling now giddy at the situation. It all started with the butterflies, she was so confused to start with but now it was making so much sense, Vulcan was becoming more than just friend he had so much more potential in her mind. Potential for something she'd never felt or thought she'd ever have, she felt all of the above and more that she just couldn't find words for, she did know her heart wanted to jump out of her chest with the speed it was beating.

The smile widened as another light fit of laughter escaped, more joyous now than he could ever remember being; more relieved too. He nodded vigorously in response to Sandy. "Yes, all of it." His arms tightened around her smaller frame before relaxing, he didn't want to squeeze the living daylights out of her in his happiness or accidentally cut her with the blackberry vines.

Vulcan had often wondered if he'd be able to let anyone in, even just a little bit. Sandy had been given an inch but had taken a mile, and he loved her for that.

Wait...love? The thought struck him hard. The dark male remembered talking to his sister only a few times about finding love and he often thought about how he believed he'd never attain it because of Deimos, and he realized then that that was just an excuse. If push came to shove he knew in his heart that he could put the blackberry in his place, and it felt like the yellow lioness was giving him the courage to think such things even after he'd expressed all of his fears and worries on the subject to her mere hours ago.

He didn't know what love felt like, had no idea of what it felt like. The thought of calling this love seemed all to tempting, to high in hopes. What if it wasn't love and he whole-heartedly believed it so, only to have it hurt that much more when they found out it wasn't love at all?
Maybe...falling in love is a better way of putting it. Vulcan still wasn't ready to think that drastically, still too afraid of being hurt in the end. Maybe Deimos was right, and he was a coward. He got unexpectedly angry at the thought. No, don't think about him, about all that. Just think about her...what she means to you, what you want her to mean to you. Think about what's happening now and concentrate on her and her alone.

As if by magic he was back in the same state of giddy ecstasy Sandy was in, close to tears of joy himself. Looks like he didn't need to talk to Stravina after all, he was strong and had self-confidence now, at least for the moment. That moment was all he needed though.

Quick to show her happiness at the situation she tightened the hug from her side, only giving enough to stop the thorny vines from piercing her soft skin. It was nice to feel his body warmth against her, she savored the brief encounter earlier in the night and was reluctant to ever let go. Especially when he confirmed he shared the same feelings as her, the feelings that had steadily been growing since the day they met but escalated beyond anything she'd imagined this very night, now she was aware of them and they could no longer hide subconsciously. "Then yes Vulcan, I feel all that and so much more, but only with you..." She trailed off slightly with the last three words, but knew he'd hear as they were so close and her maw was by his ear.

Sandy's thought began yet another wild spiral of analysis of what she was feeling, this had to be the thing they called love but hadn't someone warned her of lust? When she had been forced out of the pride, a small group of lions had taken her in and set her to work, investigating this and that, a higher calling they named their work about the Isle, monitoring others that where different. It was obvious she was the one with lesser experience in the group, they'd all speak of life experiences she'd never considered, love and lust and how similar they could be. But they had laughed and warned her but how would she know the difference her self? The only words that stuck vividly was that it was better to have loved and lost than to never of loved at all and that she would know after some time if the feeling stuck and stayed that it could very well be the real thing.

"Vulcan..." She began feeling her instincts taking over when her body was starting to quiver nervously, she wasn't sure how to say it but she knew that if she didn't now... she probably never would. Taking a deep breath she gathered up her courage, the courage that he had helped her regain, cleared her mind of everything discussed hours ago, non of it mattered not to her, not right now only he did. And as the thoughts of Deimos passed and there was only Vulcan there in her mind smiling at her with such happiness in his eyes it was easy, especially as they were embracing each other and he was right here and now.

"I've... Well.." She took another deep breath, this was it "I've never felt this way about anything... anyone" She lifted her head off his shoulder and glanced up at his face, searching for his eyes for more reassurance and to gage his reaction. "I think.. I mean I believe my hearts falling so very much for you." That was it, she'd said it and it felt a lot better to have it all out, she couldn't quite say the three words that most couples exchanged, but she knew it wouldn't be long if he felt the same as she whole heartily believed so at the current point in time. Her cards where out and on the table per say, and this could go two ways but to her there was only one way she wanted it to go, the one way where he'd say something along the same lines and they'd spend the rest of the night, or morning as it was now, together.

His heart was pounding harder and harder in his chest the longer they held each other. He didn't want to let go of her, not ever. The longer they were together like this the more aware he became of his feelings when they had first met. She was, is, a gorgeous lioness that he wasn't sure how to handle himself around; she was different than the lionesses in his birth tribe in more ways than one. Toward him anyways. He didn't think he stood a chance with her, and then there was their friend Soleil. Vulcan had thought that the yellow lion was interested in her, and when he didn't really know either of them he was fine with that. The way she tried to convince him to let her have a blackberry like his sister handed out her strawberries made him even more defensive, yet the more she asked the more he wished he could let her have one and the more he'd wanted to tell her about why he couldn't allow himself to let anyone have a blackberry off his vine.

So, he'd liked Sandy all along but refused to let himself see it. It made sense to him now, he could see it. He didn't want to decieve himself that he could have something as wonderful as this, it would only crush him when it came to pass. But over the course of the night all those hidden feelings came up, him wanting desperately to tell her about Deimos and his past, crying on her shoulder...she was a true friend. But was that all she was?

Her next sentence told him no. It was only with him that she felt this way, and though Sandy and Stravina were the only lionesses he knew he was sure that it was the same for him, he could feel it in the bottom of his heart.

When she lifted her head off his shoulder he looked at her questioningly, though her words made him feel so good. The questioning look didn't last very long, replaced with a look of curiosity and hope, clinging to her next words like they might be the last he'd ever hear. His smile grew even happier if that was at all possible. Now it was his turn to tell her how he felt, in more words than 'yes, I feel the same'.
"Oh Sandy, I think I've been falling for you since I first laid eyes on you, though I refused to let myself see it. No lioness I have seen or will see can ever hold a candle to you."
PostPosted: Sat Nov 29, 2008 12:02 pm

The look on his face was enough reassurance for her to smile, then his words the most romantic words she'd heard, and they were all for her. Her heart felt like it had melted into a puddle in her fuzzy chest, she'd never really been complimented before and she could see why girls sought them so often, it was such an amazing feeling to hear those words. To know that someone else in this world feels those things about you and only you, she felt as if the two of them where residing in their own world right now, just the two of them floating about in each other arms for the rest of eternity.

Vulcans words where without a doubt better than she could of expected, he seemed to be coming out of his shell and very happy about that. As was she, she liked Vulcan before as a friend but was always pondering for his reasons to be so mysterious, and now she knew she liked him even more. When they first met and laughed he seemed to keep himself away, but steadily took to joining in the group actives with his sister and their shared friend Soilei... Oh yes Soilei.... It was true she had started to develop feeling for him, but had never mentioned it and had abandoned hope on ever acting on them. What with his obliviousness to a lot of things she hadn't know where to start and then she'd seen him with a little dragon pup, whom she met on her own some time later. As the pup grow so did her feelings for their yellow friend and it was then Sandy knew she'd have no business with Soilei, after all she hadn't even really known what she felt around him and this Ceres defiantly did. Since then she'd just gone about her way, accepting her insomnia and just getting through each day as it came, spending as much time with the little group they'd formed with nothing to look forward to.

Her thoughts shifted back to Vulcan, Soilei was just a friend and even before the night before she'd established that was all they would ever be. Deimos or not she was falling in love with Vulcan and wouldn't of changed it for the world, it was all falling into place perfectly in her mind. The smile on her face felt like it would never fade as her eyes closed and she moved in slow this time, to nuzzle him on the nose taking her time to enjoy it more than her quick attempt only a few minutes previous, though it had felt like hours. "Your so sweet Vulcan, You know that?" She giggled as her nuzzle was trailed back to his ear. "I think we were both a little slow on the uptake but." She stopped briefly and made sure she was wearing her biggest and brightest smile when she bottom of his ear "I'm glad we finally got here, though... I don't think I'd enjoy someone holding a candle to me... not that they'd need to, I could probably light up enough to count for 100 candles sometimes" She chuckled again, now that the tense part was over she felt comfortable enough to start her usually ranting though she was very tired and trying very hard not to rant, the sleepiness was probably very noticeable is he'd look into her eyes. Sandy wasn't about to admit it though, the embrace, the words, the nuzzle, the feelings alone kept her feeling invincible, and invincible lions needed not to sleep!

Sweet? The thought made him blush, he'd never thought of himself being sweet. However the blush quickly faded when the lioness nuzzled him, slower than the one she gave minutes before. Was it really only minutes ago? It felt like so much longer than that. He laughed at her comment on the candles, it came so much easier now, with her there. "And still you'd outshine them all with ease. I'm so glad we got here." Vulcan didn't notice her rambling, but he could tell she was getting tired. He was pretty tired himself; he'd stayed up all night and day before worrying and talking to his sister before but he'd never done anything to spend all his energy as they had tonight.

The dark male didn't want to let the lioness go, but if they didn't then they would both fall asleep like this and feel awful when they woke up.
"Hey, it's really late, er, early." He started, not letting go even then. "We should get some rest."
PostPosted: Sat Nov 29, 2008 1:49 pm

Sandy had not pulled an all nighter since being out on her own, sure she'd only sleep when it was late but that was down to the insomnia. It had been a great night and morning, she was denying to herself the want to sleep, she grasped him tighter feeling a thorn or two pierce her skin but it bothered her non. She got to be just that little bit closer to him and that dampened out any pain those pesky yet beautiful vines could cause besides he totally deserved such a hug for that comment. "Only if it was really bright day" She smirked and yawned her maw opening wide showing vicious white fangs, though as the yawn finished she smiled as if the deadly weapons all lions own had never been shown.

"Yea but..." She trailed off and looked up into his eyes with a pout, she really didn't want to let go "I don't want to let go." and her mind was already trying to work out ways they could get back to the cave still in the embrace or even sleeping here like this, hmm no that would be silly.

A light chuckle escaped his maw. "Neither do I, but we can't sleep like this. It would be very uncomfortable in the long run." Her pouting face was almost too much for him. Vulcan could tell when he looked in her eyes that she was trying to think of ways they could go back to the cave without letting go of each other and he grinned, trying to help her along. "We have wings you know."
PostPosted: Sat Nov 29, 2008 2:53 pm

"Your right, I know I'm just being silly." She was still pouting untill he mentioned the wings then looking back at her own and his she gave him a questioning glance. Twitching her wings she didn't quite catch on till she remember the last time she used her wings. She'd pounced him down from a tree and held onto him as they gradually fell, that was the first time they had embraced each other how brief and if they could do it then.... then...

A light bulb lit up in her mind, though her glow wasn't even noticeable, just making her yellow fur stand out a little more then usual. If they could fall and be hugging then they could surely fly up together, though it'll be slightly awkward it would be doable. Fluttering her wing slightly she was ready to take off as soon as his paws left the ground. "Cute and Smart, I'm going to have to write this all down" Sandy grinned.

He could see the gears in her head turn as she worked through what he'd said about them having wings, and her expression when she finally got it was incredibly cute. He smiled down at her, extending his dark wings. The dark male was about to take off when he thought of something. "We can't fly like this. We'll have to change positions." Vulcan pointed out, thinking of how they could possibly fly in each other's arms. "I could carry you, hold you just below your chest so you have room to use your wings."

"Or, we could walk back, enveloped in each others wings."
Either was fine with him, but the latter was what he had originally though of doing. Sandy must have some imagination, he wouldn't have been able to think of something like that on his own.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 29, 2008 3:14 pm

Sandy nodded and ponder some more, she considered flying like they were currently and remembered it was a little awkward to change directions earlier when they had flown down, so that one probably wasn't a good idea. "Your right." She hummed and raised a paw to her chin, taking on the traditional and quite comical pondering position. Even though she was balancing on two paws she still continued to work out which of the remaining two would be best. Next was being carried, she didn't much like that idea, not because she worried about being dropped of the closeness with Vulcan merely the vines for a prolonged amount of time could cause quite some pain. That and she could see he was probably just as tired as she, it wouldn't be fair on him just because she didn't want to let go.

So that left one option and it didn't take her long to get into the correct position to show her decision. Taking away her paw that had been wrapped around him, she smiled walked past him swiftly turning to they stood side by side facing the same way with her wing poised and moving down around him. "I think this will be her best bet." Smiling sleepily she leaned into him nuzzling the side of her blond haired head again hist shoulder and gestured forwards.

Even when tired Sandy was still her silly self, and he wouldn't trade that for the world. One of them had to be silly, or else things would get boring rather quickly he'd imagine. He smiled again, getting back on all fours when she released him and came to stand beside him in the direction of the cave. Vulcan slid his wing over and around her smaller frame as she leaned into him. "Shall we?" He asked in a gentlemanly manner before he began walking forward, the lioness close beside him.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 29, 2008 4:07 pm

"We probably should yea. " Smile finished another brief nuzzle and kept up with him at his side, making sure to stay close even if it meant they went a little slower. She'd never had to walk this close to someone but she was determined to get the hang of it as quickly as possible. So though she was a little wobbly at first she didn't let it bother her and just carried on next to his larger frame of a body till they got to the cave, her wing as far over his body as she could manage, she was quite glad wings where stretchy.

It took them a few minutes to get back to the cave, they'd kind of wandered out aimlessly and had then bounded off in play so she hadn't quite realised how far they'd gotten from the cave itself. Especially with the both of them new to the whole walking with someone else so close, but she giggled and blushed occasionally and just kept on. The cave hadn't changed it's entrance wide enough for the both of them to just keep going until it opened up more and showed their previous placings. "I think this time the sun will defiantly be waking up before us" She smiled and slowed hoping he would too as they reached a nice corner in the cave, just big enough for them to curl up together for the remainder of the time before it would be time to awaken. If they stopped altogether she would be ready to lower down with him as not to break the body contact, she wanted to be as close to him as long as possible.

It was difficult to see in the dark, but the sky was already starting to lighten ever so slightly as the wee hours of the morning crept up on the pair as they walked slowly back to the cave, wrapped in each others wings. It was a strange thing to get used to, but Vulcan was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was getting as they stepped closer and closer to the cave, not expecting to ever like such close contact. Everytime the beautiful female next to him giggled he'd look at her with a sheepish smile, blushing along with her.

Eventually they made their way into the cave, back to the corner where they had been previously laying. The dark male chuckled at her statement.
"There's no denying that." Vulcan replied, slowing when Sandy did. Looking at the ground where they were going to lay he suddenly didn't feel like sleeping quite yet, something was tugging at his mind, saying there was something he should do. At first he thought it was Deimos, but the way it was trying to communicate was different; it seemed less sinister, though it was just a tad aggressive. His brow furrowed and he got a puzzled look on his face as he tried to figure out what in the world it was, just standing there and looking at the ground, then to Sandy.
