Dante's ears perked as he was pulled from his semi-mindless daydream. Glancing up at Chance he gave a small smile, following him as he sat, "Hey there. Are you feeling better?" He'd hate to have dragged Chance out when he was so sick...
-----
In the end, Anatu hadn't gotten everyone out, and finally, about an hour later succeeded. He smiled politely and was freindly, but in the back of his mind, the whole 'we need to talk' lingered. Tail flicking he followed the last people out and closed and locked the door behind then, flipping the sign to closed, just for the sake or privacy and less interruptions. Kaspar had said it was important...
Tail waving he headed back to the angel's table, and took a seat. "Sorry... they took longer than I thought..."

Chance's skin was actually pink again. "Yeah, for now," he chuckled faintly. In his pocket he was actually carrying a case with toothpaste and portable toothbrush. He was doing that well. But he usually felt better in the afternoons, and as such was already starting to. Maybe he'd be able to eat something soon. "How about you?"
- - -
Kaspar always brought a book if not homework when he came in. Something to occupy his mind while he ate. Unfortunately he could not really focus on the page, and spent the majority of the hour re-reading the same sentence over and over again. Finally, he set the book aside. Anatu was ushering the last of his customers outside, so he had little time left to gather his thoughts. What was he going to say? He wasn't even sure what it was...
"Hey... that's all right," he trailed off quietly, fidgeting with a thumbnail. He watched Anatu sit down nervously, flushing a little. "So, um..." Where did he start? "So you probably know about Dante and my father... well, of course you do, you live with him," he blurted. "Well... I've been doing a lot of thinking..." perhaps obsessing was closer to the truth. He hated how they had both conceived without really even trying (trying being a point of perspective, the way Chance was always gone, probably with Dante). And neither really knew what the other wanted to do. His face became redder - yes, he was embarrassed, but now angry as well. "I don't want us to end up like my parents. I want us to always talk things over, to work things through. I'm sure they did... but... No matter what happens between us in the future, I don't want to be stuck making assumptions about what you want... and I want you to know about me. Even if I'm not very good at expressing how I feel."
There. He'd said... enough. And his face felt like it was the color of beet juice.

"Mm... pretty good..." He looked at his drink, smirking lightly, "This is about all I feel like having right now." His tail waved behind him before looking at Chance again, not quite sure how to start off the subject that needed to be started.
"So... I've been thinking..."
-------------
Anatu's tail curled around himself as he leaned lightly on the table, curious. He blinked, feeling sort of as if he'd been caught in the middle of one of Kaspar's thoughts. Either way, he listened, trying to make sense of it. It wasn't till the end that he was caught a bit off guard.
Yeah, he knew Chance and Dante were having kids... He had yet to grasp the roles of the people in Kaspar's family, but he was getting it. Obviously, he couldnt tell what Kaspar was thinking and found this all a bit random, but when he thought of what was going on with Chance and Dante, it made sense.
Taking a moment he tried to find the right words, slowly he reached across the table to take the others hand. "End up like your parents or Chance and Dante?" Personally, he had no grudge against either, and found the fact they were having kids a fabulous thing, but he tried to see it from Kaspar's point.
He didn't know the story with Canth and Chance, but for what he knew it seemed over. Maybe there were lingering affections? Giving a small smile he purred, "I... dont really know what happened between Chance and Canth, but, it won't happen to us. We just have to be unafraid to tell each other what we're really thinking. And, I promise to tell you what I want."

"I had some coffee..." the unicorn offered. It was all he had been able to keep down today, so far. He tilted his head curiously and leaned forward to listen. "Yes?"
- - -
Oh. He didn't know about his mother, did he? He clenched his jaw a little. "Well... both... I don't think my dad ever really loved my mom, but he dragged him along anyway. I don't know why. And I don't know why they stayed together, either. Maybe Mom was convenient. I guess you'd just have to ask Dad, if he'll give you a straight answer." He sighed and tried to keep the bitterness from his voice, but he still scowled, he just couldn't help it.
On the bright side, he and Anatu were off to a better start than his parents. And they were also better off than Chance and Dante.
"I guess I'm just angry because Mom wanted a family and Dad never cared enough to stick around. He throws money at us and pretends to care, then he's off again. But it looks like everything's different with Dante..."
He took a moment to let Anatu absorb all that, and to collect his own thoughts. He looked at their fingers entwined and it seemed like a physical manifestation of Anatu's promise. He looked up at the tiger and smiled, even though he felt a little sick inside. "I promise too," he said, then lifted Anatu's knuckles to his lips and kissed them.

Dante had looked back down at his cup that he held, ears going back comfortably. "Well... I guess first off," He poked at it lightly, his mind was floundering a little, "I.. don't think the way things are will be suitable later on."
Finally, glancing back up at Chance, his tail flicked, "I don't want to raise kids by myself. I'm not sure what you feel or what you'd like to do, but, since we're living in two completely different places, that's... sort of what it seems." It was also partially because they could do days without talking or seeing each other, but the last couple times had been almost self inflicted. "I guess I'm asking, how would you feel about finding a place for us?" He couldn't help but let his gaze drift to his own stomach, "Considering... who knows, how many we'll end up with, since both of us..." He trailed off.
Eh, seemed it was still a bit weird to admit he was pregnant, out loud at least.
-------
Anatu's ears went back a little and couldn't help the small frown on his face. He had tot stay neutral on this topic, even though now he was getting details. He felt he should just stay and watch from the sidelines as usual.
It tore at the tiger a little, and he looked at their hands, unsure of what to say. What was he supposed to say to Kas? He understood hard family situations, sort of, even though he never really had anyone besides his mom. "You have a right to be upset... really..."
He knew there wasn't anything he could do to help the other besides stick around and be there for him. This was going to be hard for Dante and Chance, and even harder for Kas to accept it seemed. "It seems... choices have been made by them, and... if no one says anything, it'll just be that way." Anatu looked at Kaspar, "And, it's their decision to continue the way they want. "
Ears perking, he watched Kas kiss his knuckles. He felt so bad for the angel, which caused him to drop a bit before he finally stood, letting their hands stay together as he scooted around so he could sit next to the other and wrapped his arms around him hugging. "I won't go anywhere..." He felt almost helpless at not being able to do anything besides comfort the other...

Chance watched him curiously... to listen to him talk, it was as if they both lived on their own. He had every intention of bumming the kids off on everyone else in the house. Well, that was not exactly true; he simply was beginning to feel that way, after feeling so horrible for so long. He had never been sick like this. He did not even suffer from allergies (unless one considered being an herbivore an allergy to meat products).
He sat bolt upright, ears and all standing at attention. "Move in?" Affording something on top of this house... it might be a bit of a stretch, but they could pull it off. It just seemed so sudden. "I don't know... I wouldn't be opposed to it, but it seems to be a decision based solely on the kids. That's not a reason to move in together. We don't even know much about each other."
On the other hand... would it be right to keep the kids separated from each other, and from their other parent? He knew that the fact that Agios and Kaspar were adopted had affected each profoundly... He sighed. "I don't know what to do. Who knows? Maybe we'll luck out and have one each..." Though it didn't feel like that. It felt like he was carrying a lot more than just one.
- - -
"I know..." What was so terrible was that, no matter how much he hated what Chance had done - was doing - he couldn't really hate him. Oh, but he could be spiteful to him. He deserved flack every now and then, even from 'the well-behaved son.' "I mean... no matter what they do, he's still my father. I can't really change that, just as I can't change the fact that he's a complete a**."
He was slow to look up when Anatu rose to his feet. The tiger did not let go of his hand, so it was easy to tell that his intention was to sit down beside him. Normally he probably would have felt a little nervous with the gesture, but Anatu had taken on a different role. He leaned into the hug at first, then reached around behind the tiger and clung to it. "I'm glad," he said quietly into the tiger's hair before leaning his eyes into the other's shoulder. "Thank you..."

Dante understood the wanting to bum the kids off on someone at the estate, but they weren't really 'family' so they wouldn't have even a little bit of obligation to do so. But, wouldn't that be cruel? Not only to the kids, but also to his housemates. He gave an inward sigh. Gotta buck up sometime, right?
"I know it seems absurd, but wouldn't it be cruel to keep siblings apart?" Who knew, maybe it was different because they were coming from two different people? That made no sense. It pretty much was based on the kids, but that would give them time to get used to each other right? Unless, they just kept living apart and had nothing really to do with each other; that was a sad thought.
Then there was the whole 'walk away now while you can' scenario, which made him squirm a little in his seat, not even wanting to think of that. "I suppose... we need to get to know each other, make some kind of foundation, unless..." He fidgeted; why was this so hard?
Shaking his head he spoke again, "Never mind." He looked at Chance, "What do you think we should do?" Either way, he had been pondering moving out anyways, just so whether Chance wanted to or not, Dante would probably find a separate place to live.
-----
Anatu shifted so he could keep hold of Kas more effectively, resting his cheek to the top of the others head, his ears back. Silence felt more comfortable right now as he just keep his arms around the other. Gently he turned his head to nuzzle lightly.
It was so depressing and it hurt to see Kas like this. Squeezing his eyes shut, he couldn't help but hug a little bit closer.

A wave of nausea hit Chance. His ears flattened backward and he visibly paled (yes possible even for him). Growling softly, which came out sounding vaguely like a moan of distress, he turned to glare at whomever had ordered something with melted cheese on top.
He turned back to the wolf. He was listening, it was just so difficult to do. Taking a couple slow, deep breaths, he finally spoke, focusing on a point on the tabletop that wasn't wont to move around. "I think... what would be best for the kids is a supportive environment, no matter how broken or bizarre the set-up. One of the worst environments is a family together but fighting constantly. It's stressful and hateful."
A couple more deep breaths. He was feeling light-headed. "I'm not saying we shouldn't try, Dante. I have to admit that if I wanted to make it work with anyone it would probably be you." He smiled weakly. There was just something about him that made turning his life upside-down perfectly all right. "But I don't think we should stretch the limits of sanity just to get together and stay together, 'for the kids.' I think that is wrong."
The room spun and he went silent. Wiping his brow, he tried again. "I'd like to get to know you, Dante. If it doesn't work out... well... we can figure that out if that happens."
- - -
Funny thing, Kaspar realized, was that being held like this reminded him a little of his mother. But it was Anatu, not Morcanth; it was certainly very different, of course, but similar in that it was so very soothing. The angel snuggled up closer to the tiger and nuzzled his throat, kissing it gently.

That made sense, it all did. He glanced at the unicorn, ears perking lightly at the growl and glanced towards the meal too. Carefully he watched the unicorn. "Chance..."
He didn't interrupt the other and listened nodding at pretty much all of it, and agreeing to all of it too. Chance didn't look too good, and he set his hand in the middle of the table lightly, "Chance, do you want to go somewhere else?" His ears rested back lightly, feeling incredibly fortunate he wasn't nearly as sick. He didn't want to see Chance get sick all over the table either...
-----
Anatu sighed inwardly, keeping his arms around Kas. His ears perked but settled back again at the kiss to his throat, unable to keep a small purr from coming forth. Tilting he kissed the others temple in return before going back to nuzzling. It was nice to just... sit. To sit and snuggle up with Kaspar, in a quiet and empty place, just them.
He didn't want to ruin the moment with talking, but there was something... something that he felt that he wanted to say, but was it the wrong time. Nuzzling a bit he murmured, ears back, "Kas..." He was taking a step out on a limb...

"I'll be fine... it's like this every day." Chance took a couple of slow, deep breaths then looked up at Dante with a faint smile. "I don't think I'll get sick again... but I probably won't be able to eat anything. Sorry..." Vaguely, he felt regretful that he couldn't actually just 'meet for coffee' or dinner, like normal, and that Dante looked so worried.
- - -
Kaspar heard the other begin to speak then buried his face in the his shoulder. He did not want to let go... but felt sudden guilt for even allowing him to close the shop. Reluctantly, he pulled away. His face had reddened a little, though the reason was unclear - from upset or embarrassment? "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have taken your time away from the shop..."

Dante frowned lightly. "We could go somewhere else..." He tried to think of a place without food or lots of different food smells, though he glanced back at Chance when the sorry was spoken. "It's fine. It's not your fault." Giving a small sigh, he sat back in his chair a little, taking a drink of his getting-cold-hot chocolate, thinking a little.
-----
Anatu's tail flicked as he was about to go on before the other pulled away. "Ah--Hm."He reluctantly let go of Kas and glanced down. Wait to go Anatu... You just get to wait till next time, huh? Clearing his throat he glanced at the door then back at the reddening angel. "It's okay... It's a really slow day anyways. I thought about going home early anyways..." He gave a small smile. "Anytime is a good time to take a break, and talk to you." He'd rather do that anyways, not that he didn't like his customers but he would probably do almost anything for the other...

Chance smirked faintly at Dante, his tongue peeking between his teeth. "No... it's your fault. And it's fine," he finished with a smile. After a moment he flagged down a waiter and ordered some tea with ginger or lemon, "Or better yet both, if you can," he added. "And another hot chocolate for him." He could tell just by the smell what it was.
- - -
His face darkened a little at Anatu's words. But he smiled and leaned closer to kiss his cheek. "You shouldn't neglect your shop." He paused for a moment as he leaned away again, thinking. "I have some homework I could work on, if you want to do something later on."

Dante chuckled lightly, "Oh yeah. " His tail waved behind him, ears perking as the waiter was waved over and glanced at Chance as he ordered him another hot chocolate. How had he...? He sniffed at the cup... By smell maybe? Hm. He smirked lightly and finished off the rest of the contents.
-----
The tiger smiled lightly, ears perking at the kiss and tilted purring. "I'm not neglecting it ~" He chuckled lightly, blinking at the suggestion, only to grin and purr more. "That would be fun. It's a Monday though; are you sure?"

"Yeah, I could smell it," the unicorn said, watching as the wolf sniffed at his cup. "It must be getting cold because I can't smell it now, but I can smell hot food like crazy." When the waiter left, Chance smiled warmly at the other. "I don't regret it... sometimes it gets really bad and I think I do... but I don't, really."
- - -
"Yeah... about all I have is a test tomorrow, everything else is midway through a project or something like that." The angel smiled at the tiger. In other words, he could be done at any time.

"Really?" Dante's ear's perked as he set the cup aside. He hadn't gotten to that yet. He could smell certain things better than other though, that was about it. Blinking lightly, the wolf watched Chance. He didn't regret it... Ears flicking he looked at the table before looking back up, "I... don't regret it either. I'm sort of... happy, I guess." It would most definitely be interesting and horribly difficult, but he wouldn't regret it because it was with Chance. The thought gave him a funny feeling on the inside.
He obviously didn't know Chance very well, but yet, there was still that feeling that everything was okay. It was hard to believe all that had happened, and how it had happened. Who would've thunk they would end up like this after their first meeting.
-----
"Okay." Anatu grinned happily, "Sounds like a plan. Did you have something in mind you'd like to do?" He glanced at the clock over the door, just checking the time out of curiosity. If it stayed too slow, he'd close up early.
