Steven looked at Nathan's face, he knew that he was faking a little bit. Steven then grinned widely. "Even though I know you are trying to use some form of phycology on me, I will watch your back." he smirked, pointing to his chest proudly. He then remembered he had some gum in his pocket. He then took it out and held it in his hand. He then asked Nathan, "Hey, do you want a piece of gum? Its Juicy Fruit." he smiled. "Because, you know, people who watch each other's backs share their gum." he smirked.

Patrick gave a shout of victory upon finding the stairs, a slight smile crawling upon his mouth. "Hey, there's some stairs here!" Dropping to all fours, he slowly crawled up the stairs, somewhat startled by the loud creaking each movement caused. Reaching the top, he placed both palms on the wooden trap door and shoved it open, the slap of his hands against the wood resounding throughout the dark room. Atleast he opened the door though. "I found a door." Patrick entered through the door, crouching slightly aside the stairs to help others through.

Nathan's smile widened, and he took a piece of gum. "Okay. You're much harder to trick than my nephews." He was about to say something else, something about not running off alone, but an excited shout interrupted him. Nathan almost laughed out loud with relief. At the very least, they were getting out of the oppressive darkness. Maybe now his words of caution wouldn't be necessary. He hoped so; he hated lectures, and, as a result, hated giving them a thousand times more. "Alright," he said to Steven, starting toward the other man's voice. "Let's get out of here."
((Sorry, llama. Had to edit. Nathan wouldn't sit there giving a lecture when someone had found the way out.))

((editted!!!))

Steven looked up at Nathan. "Ya, lets get out of here." he grinned, grabbing his arm. He then slowly started to make his way towards the cellphone light of Patrick's cellphone and the stairs. When he saw the shadows of another figure of a man, aparently just coming around, he stopped walking and looked at him.

((man was Ander Grey...... I edited this after a lot of people posted so I thought writing it this way was fitting.))

Anna's serious face broke into a smile that was bright with absolute relief, and she immediately started making her way gingerly through the darkness toward the stairs. Upon finding them, the smile faded into uncertain concern; they did not look or feel stable. On the other hand, if they had supported the weight of a man well over 6"5, they could certainly support her. Taking a deep breath, she started crawling up, though couldn't seem to help wincing at every creak and groan.

Vera was searching for the light switch, sweeping the wall with her hands, when Patrick's words reached her ears. Her heart skipping with hope, Vera turned around, searching for the mobile phone light Patrick was holding. In the room, a few weak lights were scattered around the room, moving slowly, searching for the light switch. Upon scanning the whole room, she found a spot of light a lot higher than the others, on the other side of the room. She could see shadows started heading for that direction. Her left hand guiding her along the wall, she finally reached the staircase.

Upon close inspection, Vera saw that the steps were rotting, as if anyone would fall through if walked on. The girl in front of her was hesitating, being the first to reach the stairs. But after a few seconds, the girl walked onto the stairs despite her apparant doubt. Looking at the girl as she climbed steadily upwards, Vera herself took a deep breath, and stepped onto the stairs, with her left hand holding the rusting railing. The staircase creaked ominously under her as she walked. But at last, she reached the top. She let out the breath she was holding in. Her body relaxed, her right foot kicked her left when she attempted to move, she stumbled forward. But a hand from her right steadied her. Turning her head, she saw that it was Patrick. Smiling faintly, she uttered shyly, "Thank you," before moving through the door to join the girl in front of her.

Codi smiled. Victory at last! With a triumphant pause, she flipped the light switch.
Nothing happened.
Her grin disappeared. She tried it again.
…Still nothing happened.
In frustration Codi stamped her foot against the ground. ”Damnit!” she hissed, mainly to herself, ”It doesn’t turn on!”
”Maybe the lights are burnt out?” suggested Muse rather blandly, ”Or the power? Or, heck, this place is so decrepit, the wires could’ve been chewed through by mice.”
Codi rolled her eyes and folded her arms. ”Thank you, miss optimistic.”
It was almost like she was in her own little world. Surely she noticed the others and, to some degree, interacted with them, but most of her conversation was with Muse and Muse alone. Odd as this may sound, this was not an unusual thing for Codi. After nearly a decade of constant bickering, she was pretty used to the quirky voice in the back of her mind.
Codi took another sip of her drink and leaned against the wall. Only then was she startled out of her sulking when Patrick found a staircase.
It was odd, really. He seemed to be kind of the leader—he wasn’t scared at all when he first awoke, he was the one who convinced everyone to start looking for light…and now he found a way out of here?
Also he sounded a lot like Clay. And he had the same name as one of Codi’s very good friends. I don’t say this lightly.
Suspicion creeped through her bones, but Codi quickly discarded that idea. Perhaps he just wanted to help and was a natural leader? She really needed to start trusting people more. Although she would like it to be so, in the real world, expecting the unexpected got Codi nowhere fast. It only made people think she was mentally ill—well, more so than usual.
Meanwhile, a way out! Straw still firmly grasped between her teeth like a piece of grass in the mouth of a farmer, Codi swiftly (but still unsteadily; her messenger bag screwed with her balance quite a bit) made her way towards the gathering of lights and figures. Creaks from the stairs reached her ears and she winced.
It was a good thing she wasn’t afraid of heights. Codi filed in behind the others, careful not to crowd anyone in front of her so that the stairs would not collapse and nobody would fall off. That would be a bad thing.
On her way up, Codi was one of the few (so it seemed) who had absolutely no problem with the instability of the stairway. Her free hand—the one not supporting her can of soda—was jammed inside one of her many pockets. She made no attempt to grab the railing. Instead, she was too busy staring at Patrick.
Good lord. It was like looking at Clay—only this was a much taller, older version. Either way, he seemed to have the same effect on her, which was immediate and overwhelming attraction.
Nevertheless, also like Clay, it would never work out between them. Codi’s thoughts went elsewhere…but she was still curious.
”Patrick…” she asked, a little devilishly as Muse pushed her way forward to Codi’s subconscious, ”Tell me…are you scared?”

Ander Grey awoke with a gaping mouth, which squeaked quietly with a yelp. He felt a sharp pain through his cerebrum, and he waved his arms uselessly in the darkness. Eventually, Ander regained his composure, once his eyes had adjusted to a weak candle source. He discovered himself to be sitting upright, and rose to his feet to explore his surroundings. Ander kept a calm expression, with only the slightest pang of pain beneath the surface. His throbbing mind raced and strained to find an explanation as to why he was here.

He surveyed his surroundings as best he colud, and made out the figures of humans in the faint candle light. He discovered he was walking on feeble boards, that groaned in despair with every step. It was pine, or maple. Oak? Perhaps even yew. Accursed darkness, thought Ander with a frustrated smirk. Ander investigated the group, as they seemed to know more than he did. They were apparently fixated on a path.

Subconsciously, he wanted to find someone who knew about as much as he did, and not more so. They would be able to think on the same page. The words "Should we follow him?" jumped out at him, echoing across the oak(...) walls. Ander approached the question and its recipient. His face remained calm, but he gave an expression in such a way as to convey his ignorance of the situation. His mind thought of a suitable question, then relayed its results to Steven:

"Where are we going?"

Patrick allowed the corners of his mouth to quirk upward, aiming a small smile toward Vera. As odd as he was, he did tend to be protective. Just a natural trait he'd always seemed to have. As well as leading. Funny how the odd, apparantly suspicious guy is a natural leader, eh? After Vera got through, he felt someone's eyes on him. A dull, clouded gaze shifted to the girl who seemed to have been talking to herself earlier. An eyebrow rose in curiousity, tilting his head to the right ever so slightly. "As long as I don't understand what is going on here, I harbor some fear." Patrick blinked. "Besides, I have people to protect. All of y'all were so panicked down there, without someone to lead ya', I wouldn't be surprised if y'all were still down there, pissin' y'erselves." His tone was slightly sarcastic, but held a rare tone of playfulness. Her gaze and mannerisms confused him somewhat.

Michelle felt frustration boiling up inside of her. All she wanted to do was scream and wake up, but unfortunately, her present situation wasn't a dream. For some reason, she felt annoyed when the man, Patrick, started to lecture about being calm. It was good advice, and in her head she knew it, but her heart felt indignant at being told what to do. At least someone was taking control, organizing the blind mice to do something useful. She clenched her teeth tightly and started to look for that light switch.

When a girl announced she found it, Michelle ran over to meet her. Well, more like walked quickly, trying not to trip on anyone who might still be unconscious. The girl who discovered it sounded really young and she thought she heard a little boy too. Everyone else seemed teen-ish. No real adults? Wonderful.

"Good, at least we can have some light," she said to herself and the young woman next to her. Michelle searched along the wall with her fingers for the switch and flipped it, closing her eyes so she wouldn't be blinded.

Unfortunately, she wasn't so lucky. The lights hadn't come on, nothing happened. Michelle sighed inwardly, again having to fight back frustration. Her mind started a checklist of what went wrong. It could be the wrong switch. It could be broken. Rats could've chewed through a cord. The light could be out. The power could be out. The-

A shout interrupted her silent reflection. It was Patrick again. He found a way out. Thank goodness! Michelle followed the moving figures towards the door.

…Yup. He was just like Clay.
”Don’t get any smart ideas,” Muse nudged with what Codi imagined was an evil grin—but she only shook her head, smiling gently to herself. ”Now why would I do something like that?” she muttered, still out loud but soft enough that only those very close would hear her; in any normal situation, all of this would be a mental conversation. However, for whatever reason, the stress now put upon Codi brought out the worst of her “habits”.
She chewed busily on her straw. ”You know, I have a friend who has the same name as you,” Codi continued randomly, still directed at Patrick, ”He goes by ‘Rick’ though. Do you go by Rick?”
With Muse properly stifled within the depths of her mind, Codi sounded a lot less sadistic. Nevertheless, her thought patterns were considerably more unstable and prone to random changes in topic.
Abandoning all patience, Codi took advantage of her skinny form and first year of high school to squeeze past those in front of her, including Patrick, so that she was the first to peek through the trap door.
She was silent. Well, Codi was silent.
”Sweetheart,” Muse quipped sarcastically, ”I really don’t think this is your room.”
The light blinded her. Codi blinked several times as her eyes painfully adjusted, shifting her glasses up the bridge of her nose now that they actually had use; reminded of her throbbing headache by this new stimulus, she took another few sips of caffeinated beverage and felt better.
Besides the dirt and murky air, the place was beautiful. It was like looking on the inside of an old castle…but no matter the fancy decorations (and the fact that it looked like nobody had cleaned here in years), Codi’s eyes immediately flew to the fabulous white piano in the corner.
But I don’t think “fabulous” is quite the right word. “Spectacular” and “magnificent” might replace it, but they would still be quite inadequate in properly describing the sheer beauty of this grand piano.
Codi said nothing. Instead she leaped from the trap door and sprinted for the antique, eager to play a few notes. Muse was practically screaming at her, but Codi was determined. She would make a sound on that piano and that was final.
She made it across the hall and, holding her breath, slowly slid onto the ivory piano bench. Her fingers trembled as she began to open the cover over the keys…

Anna's eyes widened involuntarily with shock as she looked around. What the hell is this? she asked herself, twisting a strand of short, fine brown hair around her index finger in a manner that suggested unconscious habit. "It's like... something out of a gothic novel," she murmured, her pale face wondering. She looked around slowly, her eyes focusing on rotting lace doilies, tarnished silver, and other examples of elegant decay. The whole thing was deeply beautiful, in a forgotten, slightly sinister sort of way, but nothing was familiar. Finally she tore her eyes away and turned back to Patrick, looking faintly intrigued and excited, like a child who has just discovered a dusty old dollhouse in the attic, but also disturbed on a fundamental level. "Where are we?" she asked slowly.

A sudden sound made her tense, and she spun around to see one of the teenage girls start to lift the cover to the piano. "NO!" she cried out, her eyes going wide with panic, "Don't open that!" She sprinted over to the younger girl, and gently but firmly slid the cover back into place; then she looked down into the odd, over-bright eyes, her expression annoyed and not a little incredulous. "Have you ever watched a scary movie? Played a scary game? Read a scary book? No? Something like playing the piano usually does something in those settings, and half of the time, what it does is spring a trap. Maybe I'm being paranoid, or maybe I've just played Silent Hill too many times, but I think it's better to be safe than sorry, don't you?"

Vera took a few more steps away from the wooden door, determined to get away from that hateful lightless basement. Glancing at her surroundings, she was amazed. Though every corner was covered with dust and cobwebs, the house's glorious old days could still shine through here and there, enough to dazzle her eyes.

Suddenly, a young girl ran past her, heading straight for the large open space in front of her. After a few seconds, the girl in front of her sprang into action, running into the room too. Curious of what this was all about, Vera turned around. In a corner, a grand piano stood. In front of the piano, were the two girls, opening and shutting the cover. The older girl was talking to the younger girl in firm tones. Disconnected words floated towards her. "...scary...piano..trap..paranoid...Silent Hill... don't you?" Raising her brows slightly, Vera looked away, trying not to appear as nosey. Scanning the room, her eyes suddenly lit up. There was a pair of white tall double-doors, on the wall on her left. Her eyes transfixed, she walked past the two girls, her sneakers hitting the floor with dull thuds, she reached the doors.

Vera yanked at the golden handles as hard as she could, but the doors wouldn't budge. She closed her eyes, and took a deep breath, If I can carry 35 kg with one hand, I can do this, I can open the doors. Opening her eyes, she pulled at the handles in a lightning flash, with all her might. The doors didn't move, but the handles creaked slightly, Great, I am going to yank the handles right off the door. Decided to try pushing, her hands pushed at the handles repeatedly, each time harder than the previous. But still, no response. Frustration started to build up, slowly blinding her eyes. Time for brutal measures, a voice whispered at the back of her mind. Her mind blocked by the frustration, Vera took the advice. She took a few steps backward, and ran towards the doors with her right shoulder aiming for the gap between them, like an angry bull charging for a waving red flag that was taunting it, real bad.

A huge BAM!! echoed throughtout the room, and a striking pain hit her hard on the shoulder. The pain cleared her mind from the anger, she accepted her defeat. She slided onto the floor with her back against the doors, panting slightly.

Steven was still holding Nathan's arm when Ander spoke to him. Steven smiled and then said "Well, that guy says he has found some stairs over there. We are all going to go up them to hopefullly get out of here." he sighed. Steven then grabbed Ander's arm with his free hand and started to pull him over to the stairs to.

As Steven pulled the two men to the stairs, he found that the stairs were old and rotted by the feeling of the first step. He still held the guys' arms and walked cautiously up the stairs, leading the way. At the top of the stairs Steven saw a man and women talking. He couldn't help himself so he shouted. "Aww, kissy kissy kissy!" Steven then started laughing at the faces the made at the comment.
