Nico smiled at Eloise, proud of her. "It's better than the cat in my opinion. I'm glad it didn't shed too much. Don't worry though. Remember, the main part of the spell is the wand movement. In nonverbal spells, that's the main focus. It took years for me to get that, and my father's a teacher," he said gently, patting her on the shoulder, "But now, you might want to turn it back. Same wand movement, love." He was a little surprised by the kiss, but he didn't show it. At least Eloise was happy, which meant all the more to him.

"Sorry about the cat." Eloise blushed, trying to shake her hair in front of her face to keep him from seeing her pink cheeks. Right then the owl snapped at her hand, leaving a small red mark. Jumping as she remembered that the owl was there, she swore under her breath, and repeated the same thing so that the owl would turn back into a bag.
"Well, my dads a lawyer. I can tell you the inside and out of the law, find loopholes, and other things like that but when it comes to magic...No. Jasper during the summer would help me, though, since he couldn't actually use magic it didn't help me much." With a shrug of her shoulders, she looked at the bag, rather glad that there wasn't an owl in it's place. Eloise really wanted to walk down the hallways holding Nicodemus' large hand, but since class was still in session, she couldn't.

Admiring Seamus's owl, she nodded her head and said, "Well done, Mr. Riley. Two points to Slytherin as well."

Turning to Angelica, she replied, "Miss Ellsworth, you performed the transfiguration in reverse order. I asked for a schoolbag into an owl first. This is done specifically because of the possibility that that may have been an owl to begin with. If you read the material in the textbook, you would know that with animal transfigurations, the creature does have the capacity to undo the transfiguration at any point, though this varies with the magic user's strength. Since the bag was already in owl form, it can easily be suspected of being an owl to begin with. And creature to item transfigurations is a fifth year level assignment."

Noting the amount of noisy, Professor Arashi pressed the tip of her wand to her throat and muttered, "Sonarus." With that her voice boomed over everyone in the room, "THERE IS ENTIRELY TOO MUCH NOISE IN THIS ROOM. EVERYONE WHO HAS FINISHED THEIR WORK AND IT HAS BEEN APPROVED BY ME HAS PERMISSION TO LEAVE. EVERYONE ELSE IS TO CONTINUE WORKING, BUT NOISE MUST BE AT A MINIMUM." She took her wand away from her throat and continued to round the classroom.

Nico laughed at the owl snapped, though when Professor Arashi's voice boomed, he shut up rather quickly. "Why don't you get that approved? We can probably take a walk on the grounds afterwards," Nico suggested, "And don't worry, about it El." He brushed the hair away from her face and chuckled as he saw her blush.
"Remind me never to get on the wring side of your family, please," he joked, though it was halfway serious. He really didn't want to get on anyone's bad side, save for maybe the Potions professor, and a few Slytherins. And they deserved it. It wasn't his fault they had something against him. And it wasn't his fault he could probably own them all in a game of Quidditch as a Beater.

Seamus tipped his head to the Professor. "Thank you ma'am. Have a good day." He opened his sack and began poking around inside. He wanted to make sure everything had remained intact during the spell. He was skilled enough that he knew everything would be in order, but it wouldn't hurt. He raised himself fluidly from the chair and left the room, stopping on his way out for Figaro's cage.

Eloise smiled, the red in her cheeks quickly disappearing as her mouth widened with happiness. "I should get my wand skills approved. I would love to take a walk with you Nico." At his comment about never wanting to get on her families bad side, she smiled, trying to imagine a situation where Nico could get on her families bad side. He would have to either beat El, swear a lot, show absolutely no respect, or get Eloise pregnant. Though, the chances of any of those happening were very, very slim, she still let out a small laugh at the thought of any of those happening, especially with Nico.
"Nicodemus, I highly doubt that you could ever get on my fathers bad side, or my families bad side even if you tried. Well, you will almost automatically get on my overprotective brothers side, but he'll get over it. Oh, and ed might be terrified of you, however, you shall grow on him. You would have to do something horrible to me in order to get on their bad side, and with your personality I doubt you could."
With a smile, she looked over at the professor, and raised her hand to try and signal her. "Professor. I would like to...Demonstrate my transfiguration." Even as she tried to project, Eloise was still quiet, trying to speak louder, but didn't want the slytherin boy or the several other students to stare at her. The fact that Eloise hated being looked at strangely made it almost impossible for her to be a circus performer. If it came to it, Eloise would much rather be a stay at home wife or mother than a circus performer.

"That's a comfort. Now... Jasper is the overprotective one, correct? I'll have to be extra polite around him. And, I would never be horrible to you, Eloise Mason, how dare the thought cross your mind," he joked, patting her on the head and smiling, "And if I do, I'll hurt myself twice as much to make up for it." He made that promise with a straight face, solemn. He would keep his word, really and truly. He didn't like hurting people, unless they ot in his bad side. But, Eloise wasn't getting on his bad side. She was staying very firmly on his loving side.
"You'll do fine, Eloise,"
he assured, and winked.

Elijah slid slyly into the Transfiguration classroom, knowing that she was entirely late. She hadn't woken up well that morning and had spent the time from when she awoke to now throwing up in a toilet. She didn't know why, most likely something at dinner stirred her stomache in an unpleasant way.

Completely wishing that she had Dissallusioned herself before entering, Elijah took an indescript seat in the back. Maybe Professor Arashi had yet to notice her absence? Elijah deftly slid her wand out of her sleeve and looked up to the board. If she started working, Arashi would probably think that she had been there the entire time.

"Transfigure my bag into an owl? Doesn't seem too hard,"knowing that Transfiguration wasn't her absolute best subject, Elijah tried not to think about the poor owl or whatever the thing looked like when she was finished.

Quickly, the seventh year unloaded her bag and set the books inside on the empty seat beside her. Her Defense text, Charms text, and her Transfiguration text were joined by her four books that she was currently reading for fun at the moment and a packet of Drooble's. Hopefully the strict professor wouldn't see that.

Setting the bag in front of her, Elijah took a deep breath before exhaling and pointing her willow wand filled with hippogriff talons and hoped for the best and she waved it at the bag. Clenching her eyes shut, Elijah cast the spell to turn her bag into an owl. Once she had figured that it was finished, Elijah cracked open one eye and let out a sigh of disappointment.

The bag's strap had turned into a single wing. Not that good for a first try.

Florida Love said that I could post as she has yet to add me to the class roster. Just wanted to clear that up.

Professor Arashi came over to Eloise. She saw Nicodeamus hovering close by. Since it was against her upbringing to show too much affection romantically towards another person, she gave him a look that said 'Please maintain your distance.' Her father had not tolerated public displays of affection and she did not either. And Nicodeamus being one of the best in her class did not excuse him from that.

Looking at Eloise, she said, "Please proceed with your transfiguration."

Eloise Nodded at the teacher, trying to keep a shy smile on her face. Come on Eloise, get out there! You can do it! Go go go! Smiling at her own thoughts, she turned her attention to her spell, trying to focus on what was going on instead of her own flirtatious thoughts.
Wit a wave and a jab of her wand, remembering the tip Nico gave her, Eloise said the spell and Nico's bag turned into an owl. Instinctively, Eloise backed away from the bag, or owl, or whatever it was.
"Tada." Eloise said, trying to be make herself smile, though it didn't quite work, since the thought of 'don't let the owl bite you' was stuck in the back of her mind.

Lowering her face so Professor Arashi wouldn't see, and rolling her eyes a bit at the professor's reasoning, Angelica scowled at her schoolbag. She had followed the instructions perfectly. In a bit of a huff, Angelica slammed her textbook closed. She was used to getting what she wanted, and in this case, the teacher was being unfair. Idly twirling her wand between her fingers, Angelica fell silent before the professor made an announcement. Angelica winced at the volume of said announcement, then gathered her belongings and quickly left the room, throwing Professor Arashi a reproachful glance before exiting.

Sezer laughed drly, running a hand through his hair gently, unconsciously ruffling it up worse than it already was - a task in itself. "Yes," he conceded, "a certain draw. If only it were to someone else... Kanita, for instance, doesn't seem to mind so much.." He trailed off thoughtfully. His left hand, in the short, companionable silence, reached up and pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose - effectively pulling them - mostly - out of danger of falling off and shattering. Even if h could just peform a simpe reparo spell.

Sezer had to smile at Vliatyn's smile, and the smart, scholarly Ravenclaw, himself, had to wonder why. Thinking back quickly, he recalled that Vlaityn had always had that ability with everyone around her. At least he thought it was everyone. Really, the only thing he knew for sure was that her smiles had always affected him, personally. But it wasn't as if they were directed at him, or anything. He brushed off the thoguht after a rather uncomfortale silence in his usually crammed-full-of-thoughts mind, and nodded hastilly, something telling him it was the proper thing to do at just that moment. Then, fully out of his thoughts, he noticed she had begun to walk toward the door. Polite reflexes kicking in, he hurried in front of her, a feat. not too hard for Mr. Long Legs, and opened the door for her all gentleman like.

Vlaityn couldn't help but look up in mild surprise at the level of polite kindness Sezer had as he opened the door for her. "You know you don't have to do that. It won't make you look bad." She murmured slowly, but with great appreciation. Sezer was the perfect example of a gentleman and displayed his cordiality to everyone, but it always made the pit of Vlaityn's stomach jump slightly when he bestowed such acts upon her. It made her feel honored and unworthy all at the same time.

Walking through the door, Vlaityn shook her head to herself slightly, hoping to disperse the slight color that had risen in her cheeks.

'A simple 'thank you' would have sounded so much better.'

All the way to her seat Vlaityn continued to chide and admonish herself for the horrible word slip up. Not only was it humiliating, but it was so unlike her. Vlaityn rarely slipped up like that, at least not in front of people. Wondering idly on if it was Sezer who had caused her the lapse in function, Vlaityn inspected his face, attempting to be subtle.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 18, 2008 11:55 am

Sezer blinked, stopping short in his act of closing the door behind her. What the devil? He thought to himself. Never before had something been said to him of that nature. Never before had he felt this peculiar stab in his chest that felt suspiciously close to his heart. What the devil? He again asked himself, now genuinely curious as to what had made her say such a thing. Just moments ago everything was all well and fine, they were even laughing, sort of... Even if it was at Joel's expense. But what he didn't know didn't hurt him. Except, of course, in the case of his O.W.L.S. But that was another story entirely. So stunned was he that he completely missed the great appreciation in her tone. He cleared his throat and took a seat next to her, not one to back down from his proposals.

He would've been forever lost in his inner musings if he was not in class. Especially Transfiguration Class. His favorite subject - one he was none too shabby at. In fact, he liked to admire himself as much as one could without sounding terribly full of one's self, for, back in fourth year, a seventh year had come up to him and asked for help on transfiguring objects into living things. The very thing they were performing today. Curious, that. Quickly scanning the instructions, taking care to read it over twice, he promptly threw himself into his work. Efficiently, he emptied his school bag, and organized the contents into various, neat piles grouped together by some similarity, and set about the task. On his first try, all went well - he's successfully made a burrowing owl. A small smirk spread across his face in approval. Then, he decided to try something more difficult - a snowy owl.

However, just as the incantation left his lips, he noticed Vlaityn's apparently 'subtle' attempt to study his features. The result was, as he'd lost his concentration at the very last moment, that his snowy owl had a spot of black on it's stomach. Snapping back to attention, he cursed. He'd meant to make an all-white owl. He cleared his throat, his cheeks coloring with the unnecessary swear word, and, being the dammed perfectionist he was, it bothered the snot out of him to be anything less than absolutely perfect, as you might've guessed. He sighed.

"I apologize for my language, Vlaityn. It was uncalled for." Bravely, or perhaps because he'd been raised with the early nineteen hundreds fashions, he met her gaze as he spoke.

Unknown to Sezer, the sunlight streaming in through the above window made the brownish-blonde stubble on his chin stand out. Bloody hell, when had he gotten stubble?

Vlaityn could only sit at her seat and blink slowly as she watched Sezer's near-perfect transfiguration, his swears, his sturdy apology, and his facial features in the light.

Facial features?! I'm losing it.

A large, genuine smile uncurled across Vlaityn's face. Not that she'd ever want Sezer to mess up, but this made him more real as well. Tangible once again.

"Oh, jeeze, it's fine. Really. I would have already given up while still stringing out the swears." Vlaityn looked back into Sezer's gaze and gave him a small, sheepish smile. "It's still a darn good display of skill for transfiguration."

She turned to her now empty school bag to avoid being more distracted by Sezer's calm gaze. With her wand pointed at the limp bag in front of her, Vlaityn concentrated, or tried to, on the image of a horned northern owl. Which by all means would have been a lovely thing for the bag to turn into. But life being such as it is, Vlaityn didn't get her desired bird. Instead she was rewarded with a rather small owl with very large eyes and a beak that didn't seem to open. Vlaityn studied the slight disaster of a bird for a few moments before slumping back into her chair, hoping Sezer wouldn't notice the owl was quite nearly the same color as the stubble on his jaw.
