The Countess smiled and said, "That was wonderful Shyla. You sang beautifully." She looked at the king and saw the expression on his face and smiled deviously. Hmm, what's this? She thought. The king seems to be fascinated by this little girl. I'm so glad I didn't tell him that she was and Other-sider."
Alec smiled smugly and said, "Told you didn't I?" He swaggered up to her. "Quite the little gem isn't she?" He said as he took her face in his hands. Then he noticed the look on the king's face. Uh-uh. No way was he getting her. He thougth malevolently and wrapped an arm around her possesively. "And I get to listen to this all the time seeing as how she's MY hand maiden." He said emphasizing the word mine, trying to point it out.
Shyla looked down and blushed, glancing up at the king from under her eyelashes. His stare was making her bashfull. Why's he lookingat me like that? She thought. When Alec wrapped his arm around her she resisted the urge to cringe. He would most likely hit her if she did that. She glanced back at the king wondering what he thought.

Marie awkwardly hugged Luna back.
"Um, what exactly did I inspire?" Marie only heard part of the conversation.
"Why, the murder of the King of Spades of course." Cheshire smiked, twitching his tail.
"Eh?!" Marie's eyes widened. "Murder!?"
"What, did I stutter?" Cheshire raised an eyebrow at Marie's shock.
"But, do we have to kill him? Can't we, I dunno, throw him in the dungeon-Or maybe the Asylum Mr. Murphy was talking about!" Marie flailed her arms. "Murdering royalty just seems so...so French Revolution! And then they still ended up having kings and political unrest! And Napoleon! There was much Napoleon!"
"And how do YOU suggest we get him off of the throne?" Cheshire looked exasperated. He would much rather just kill the king and be done with it.
"All we need to do really is capture the king and usurp him from his throne. The whole marrying bit would work though, because then his wife would be the legal ruler of Wonderland...I assume. Without his soldiers, the king is powerless, isn't he? I doubt anyone would complain, seeing as how the King of Spades isn't well liked and all..."
"Pansy." Cheshire snorted.
"Oh really?" The king propped his elbow on the arm of his chair and leaned on his hand. "Looks to me that she isn't as fond of you as you are of her. Really, Alec, you don't have the first clue on how to treat a delicate girl like her." The king offered his hand to Shyla elegantly. "Tell me, my dear, would you rather live here with me as my hand maiden?"
The King of Spades hid his smirk behind the hand he was leaning on. He knew how much he was pissing Alec off.
Even if I don't take her as my bride, I could still keep her as my pet.

Oh, and I need your assistance in another roleplay, Just a little thing to pass the time away . . . See, I have a character that's based off the White Rabbit and he needs to be badgered by Cheshire. -nodnod-]
"No, Marie. We couldn't throw him in the dungeons without first gaining control of the throne and to do that we'd have to make the King marry someone we can trust and then kill him so that the Queen would have complete, unquestionable power and then the King would be dead and it would be pointless to let his body rot in the dungeons," Murphy said. "And it's not Mr. Murphy. Just Murphy," he sighed dramatically, swirling his cup of tea then taking a sip.

(XD;; Well, the King has gone into is 'Charming Mode'. He only acts this way when he wants something. ^-^ I s'pose I could help you with that rp.)
"That still makes no sense." Marie scowled. "I'm all for the marriage bit, that makes sense, but as long as the king is incapacitated enough to where he can't rule, there's no reason to kill him!"
"Other than the fact that everyone one wantes to." Cheshire quiped. "What's with you and having things make sense anyway? Besides, as long as the king lives, there are people who would be forced to help him, weither they liked it or not."

"I'm afraid I'll only be a help during planning. It's already making me fuzzy headed just to listen to you all. When you attack him, I'll go into Full Attack Mode and I won't be able to stop until the threat is gone for good or the King is dead. There's no way we can keep him alive and keep me from killing the whole of Wonderland at the same time," Murphy scowled into his tea.
"I say we need to come to a descision quickly now before Madigan faints from NRG over-load," the Rabbit said, attempting to hurry things along. The King was getting a little too interested in the Other-Sider at the Palace.
"So we have our bride-to-be. We sneak in and impersonate the guards that are going to be closest to the King during the wedding and we trigger the trap that Luna helped Marie and the rest of us set up," Tommy said.
Mae nodded. "So we need to get Marie and Luna to the Palace and have the King fall for Marie and then have Luna be her handmaiden and the rest of us figments and maybe Cheshire if he can turn invisible can set up the trap for the King during the wedding - What? Yes Fred, you can help too. We're going to light him on fire, just like you suggested."
Luna looked at the White Rabbit. "What is NRG?" she asked.
"NRG is the magic of Wonderland. In your world it's called imagination. Here its the most powerful commodity in the entirety of Wonderland and it also sustains our world and keeps it from unravelling," Murphy explained. "It can also be used for things like contracts, weapons, armor, and talking to all of Wonderland, but that last powr is only reserved for the King and his successor."

Shyla blushed and looked up at him. He called her a delicate girl. If he only knew. And if she only knew as well. She gasped softly when he asked her if she would like to come and live with him. He seemed so nice. She would love to say yes and was about to when Alec snarled.
"What gives you the right to ask her that sort of thing?!" He shouted ferociously. "She's mine! And you can't have her. Besides, she wouldn't want to come live with a moody jerk like you. Would you Shyla?" he turned to looked at her. He saw the look on her face and became enraged. "You're kidding me right?! You wouldn't seriously accept his offer would you?!" He was shouting in her face now and shaking her.
The Countess could only stand there and and stare in shock.
Shyla paled considerably and tried to pull away. "P-please Lord Alec. Don't be angry." She begged. Then he hit her across the face. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry." She whimpered and covered her face. He hit her again and knocked her to the floor. She lay there cowering. She couldn't stand this. It was the same as when she was back home. Always being yelled at and being beaten like some disobedient dog. She was tired of it. Then her mind blanked and when she opened her eyes there were glaring fiercely. At Alec. She had changed. She was no longer quiet and obedient
Shyla. She was the loud and selfspoken Alyhs. She grabbed Alec's leg as he went to kick her and yanked, causing him to fall on his back. She climbed to her feet and looked down at him, her face cold and defiant. "Nobody manhandles me that way. Nobody!"

The King's eye's widened in shock at Shyla's sudden change in behavior. He almost fell right off of his throne.
"Er, does this happen often?" He asked the Countess.

The Countess looked over at him and shrugged. "I-I have no idea you Highness. She's only showed the lsightest bit of rebeliious attitude once before. I had no clue that she could be so violent." She walked forward shaking her finger at Shyla. "Shame on you girl! Treating Alec that way. He was only trying to protect you from the br-" She cut herself off and coughed. She had almost called the King a brat.
Alyhs turned towards the two of them and glared openly at the Countess. "And you think you're so high and mighty miss, don't you? Always sucking up to his Royal Highness here. Just biding your time and waiting for the chance to steal the throne out from under him aren't you?"
Alec groaned and then climbed to his feet. "You little wench! How dare you manhandle me?!" He screamed and leapt at her, murderous intent clear on his face.

The King of Spades snapped his fingers and instantly, not only was Shyla Alyhs apprehended by a card soldier, Alec and the Countess were as well.
"Now now, I will not have any blood spilled in my throne room. It takes too long to get the stains out." He sighed and slouched in his throne. "Now, I shall keep Shyla because I happen to enjoy her singing (even if she does have a few character flaws). I can do that because I'm the king and what I say goes." He glared at Alec. "And if you don't like it, kill yourself because it's not going to change anytime soon." He turned to the Countess. "As for you, auntie, I don't believe you have the back bone to try to take the throne, so I won't throw you in the dungeon. Be thankful for my mercy." He clapped his hands. "Alright then, throw Alec and Auntie out of the palace and lock Shyla in on of the rooms until she settles down. Chop-chop!"

Alec started to protest but became silent as the guards came forward, some bearing weapons of sorts. "As you wish your Higness." He said resisting the urge to snarl. He let himself be led away by the guards.
The Countess was still speechless as they dragged her from the room, seeing as how she was unable to move her body as well as her mouth.
Alyhs however looked up at the king and smiled. "It was nice meeting your Highness. You won't be sorry about this. Shyla is a rather sweet girl. You're lucky she found a way through to this would from the Other side." With a last cocky grin sent in his direction she allowed herself to be led to a room and locked in. She turned around and surveyed her surroundings before walking to the bed and flopping on it. She closed her eyes and fell asleep. As she slept her consciousness faded and Shyla's took over. She, or rather they, slept peacefully.

A smirk slowly worked itself onto the king's face.
"She's from the Other-Side, is she? This is working out better than I had hoped..." He instructed his guards to lock Shyla in one of the more comfortable rooms.
"Now I can just dispose of all the Other-Siders Madigan and the White Rabbit find. And I didn't even have to go through all the trouble of picking one." The King clapped his hands gleefully. "I just love it when I don't have to work to get what I want."

"Oow..." Cheshire held his nose. "That hurt! How can you be so cruel" He pretended to cry. "You're horrible, Rabbit!"
"Yeah. Otherwise she could be a problem." Marie nodded in agreement. "So, how exactly am I supposed to get the king to fall in love with me? I'm not sure I'm actress material."
