Alright then. First of all, I'd like to apologize for how long it took to get the tourney matches judged. They're just about finished now, so round two of the tourney will begin shortly!
On another note, I'm sure many of you have noticed already, but I'm afraid that our beloved Vice Captain, Sonia, has left us. I'm not sure how long it will take to replace her, as she left pretty big shoes to fill. So for now, I'm afraid that we'll have to make due without a Vice Captain. Worry not though, I'm already on the lookout for a new second in command and have my eyes on a few individuals.
For now, keep working hard and I'll do my best to get things running a bit more smoothly around here. Peace out.

Alright guys, time for another announcement. It looks like things have really been slowing down lately, so I'm gonna go ahead and clean up the squad a bit. Archiving old threads and remaking some of the older ones such as the captain's office and the squad barracks.
If there's anything that you DON'T want me to change or get rid of PM me immediately so I don't do it by mistake. I'm cleaning everything up so that the squad's nice and tidy for the second round of the seating tourney, so unless you tell me to keep an old thread, I will be archiving it.
On another note, Christmas is coming up and that means that everyone's gonna be busier than usual. If any of you are going on a holiday trip with your families or just aren't expecting to post much during the time off from school, do me a nice big favor and POST IN THE ABSENSE THREAD IF YOU'RE LEAVING. It makes my job a lot easier and it keeps me from demoting you.
On the subject of Christmas, I was thinking of having a secret Santa or some other kind of holiday event for everyone this year. Good idea? Bad idea? Send me a PM and give me your two cents, I'm always open to suggestions.

Alright guys, good news. I've finally found us a new Vice Captain! As of now, Kinsetsu Ichikuri (Aurilien) is the new Vice Captain of squad eight. Please be sure to give him a nice warm welcome to our squad.
Now, as for the seating tourney, I've decided to postpone round two until after the holidays, seeing as many of our members will be inactive throughout them. Please be patient just a little while longer.

Alright guys, time for another announcement. I'm sorry to say that this time it isn't good news.
It's been nearly two weeks since the second round of the squad seating tourney started, the seating tourney that you all begged me to set up. The seating tourney matches have almost no posts in them, and that's unnacceptable. I'm not accepting any excuses, it's ridiculous.
From now on, we're going to do this my way. The tournament match threads will be taken down and the seats will be decided via RP samples after I've made another attendance thread, which I expect you all to post in. Those who do not write a sample or post in the attendance thread will be removed from the squad.
I know this may seem unfair to many of you, especially to those of you that were doing well in the seating tourney, but my mind's made up. Sorry guys. The attendance thread will be up shortly, so please post in it as soon as possible, that'll be all for now.

Alrighty then! Today's the 1st of March, which means that the squad eight seating tournament is officially concluded! The new seats have already been posted up, so please go ahead and take a look at your new ranks. Good job guys! For those of you who have questions regarding the rankings, please feel free to drop me a PM and I'll explain.
On another note, now that the seating's been finished, I'll be allowing seat challenges again. For those of you who forgot, here are the rules regarding seat challenges:
Rule one: PM me and the person you are challenging to start the challenge. I will prepare an area in the squad for you two to fight and judge you along with two other captains.
Rule two: You are not allowed to challenge anyone who is three or more seats above you. Period.
Rule three: You are not allowed to make more than one challenge per month.
Rule four: If the person who you are challenging does not reply within one week, they forfeit their seat to you. (If you have any reasons for not being able to post for a little while PM me immediately so this doesn't happen to you)
Rule five: Be respectful towards your opponent as well as the judges when they make their decision. If you're having an attitude problem, I will give you one warning. One. If you do it again I will cancel the challenge right then and there. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
**Please note that unseated members are not qualified to make seat challenges**

Hey guys, I'm finally back from absense and ready to get squad up to snuff again! To start things off, I'm setting up another attendance thread, so make sure to post in that ASAP.
I'm also going to be working hard to get all of your training requests done, so bear with me for just a little while longer, I'll do my best to get around to all of you.

Well I'm formally returning as the VC once more and will look to regain the activity level we had prior to my departure. A mission shall be in the future as Tansen also believes its a good idea but for the moment we will focus on what many of you are seeking, training. I will make a thread regarding training request and we can go from there and judge what training may take place based on each individual case. Please post in that thread as it will give us a clear indication of what each member is currently seeking for development of their characters skills.

It is with deepest regret that I must inform you all that Tansen will no longer be maintaining his duties as Captain. This decision was made on his own accord and certainly he would have excellent reasoning in doing so. With that said I have been given the task of replacing him and I will attempt to create immediate positive movement in squad.
What that will mean is slight changes will occur in the coming days. As of now instead of our 12 seat structure we will return to a 10 seat roster meanng certain people listed will not remain seated. Knowing this, since the seating will be adapted it will also be in regards to current rank of seat. I will overview current seats held and make changes accordindly with the aid of a PM that will be sent out to all members within the coming days. This PM will be used to obviously perform an activity check but also inquire into the minds of all members in order to put forth the best plan of action for the squads success.
With me acting Captain now it will also mean we will require a new VC. I will look within our own squad of course for a candidate but elsewhere as well. My decision on who will take the helms will also come in the coming days. It would be well adviced with all the activity that will occur shortly that you keep tabs on what goes on.
We will also likely be going on an inter-squad mission very shortly. What this comprises of is our squad with another of the sereitei's squads RPing together a mission that is currently being developed that will utilize both squads specialties. This will be a good way to build RP bonds with other characters one typically does not RP with as well as maintaining a consistent activity level in squad.

A quick update on events we will undertake. We will be engaging in the labyrinth in an inter-squad event. I will also be part of it and will be a good way to RP with each other in a very entertaining event. Secondly, we will be going on a mission with another squad. It is almost set up and could be occuring in the coming days. Finally, I will open a mass kido training for our squad teaching approximately four kido's under 40. I will consider what everyone already knows and since all members have tenure within guild you can receive such training. Message will self-destruct in 3-2-1 Poof....

The seating is officially out as of today July 25th. As mentioned I cut down seats to 10 as I found it more appropriate. What is also of note is that their is now not only no VC but no 3rd seat. I wish for our squad to be of the highest standard and 3rd seat being a rather significant one did not feel anyone currently deserving to maintain title. If you are not listed in seating at all and are still a member please get to me asap as I will be deleting all profiles of those who currently are assumed not in squad by the end of the month. This of course can change and will change shortly as my second major announcement concerns this.
There will be an open elimination tournament for the 3rd seat. It will be a 10 post head to head where winner of each battle advances. All the skills at one's disposal are allowed and of course some will be more powerful on a pure shinigami skill level however it is not the only factor that determines the winner. In squad 8 we pride ourselves not only at being adept fighters but using our intellect to the fullest. With that in one who demonstrates superior tactical or strategic abilities within the battle can advance over the other who has done more damage. This is not a guaranteed case but it is one to take into consideration within the battle. That may mean also our newest members have the possibility to defeat one of our better ranked one.
Finally, I will be holding off on any inter-squad missions for now as I have noticed how little engagement we received with regards to the kido training. It was an opportune time for members to advance their skill and only three chose to pursue this and only one has actually posted in the section. I simply can't see us heading on a mission at this current stage with that in mind.

Alrighty, First off I would like to inform you all that there has been a change of captaincy in this squad, resulting in me becoming the captain of this squad. As of this moment, no major changes are scheduled at this moment. However, changes to seating will be made if activity is not seen by squad members that have not done much of anything recently.
Also, I will be able to post in rp shortly, this up coming week is also a hell week for school work and most of my free energy will be on any logistical and other work the crew needs me for. If you have any questions at all or just want to know what exactly is going to be happening in the near future feel free to pm me your questions and you will have a reply within 1-48 hours usually since I try to check gaia at least once a day.

Ok, now that things have been basically taken care of to get the squad back up and running, I am going to be having a role call/training/meet the new captain session. This will be mandatory for all members wishing to stay on the roster in the following weeks. I will be making the Special Training/Meet The Captain thread set up in this squad starting tonight. I look forward to observing your characters skills in the near future.
