*sighing, she clasps her hands behind her*

*raises an eyebrow and chuckles*

Cautious. It would do you well to keep that up if you're looking to capture Ember...

But if you need a name to put you at ease, you may call me Amber.

*she admires her fingers then uses a small throwing dagger to pick under one of her fingernails*

It has a nice ring to it, don't you think? Ember and Amber; Such eloquent irony.

*smiling, she puts the dagger away and folds her arms over her chest*

She left the office back into town. "Must find Ember..." she said. She was serious about overthrowning the Paladins to become her own army. No one would dare challenge her if she had command of all Paladins.

Oh, charity won't earn me my keep, so of course I would require some reward for my services...

*she smiles slowly and perches herself on the edge of a nearby table*

You wish him dead..and that's no business of mine; but would you like me to complete the task or merely deliver him for it? I could do either, mind you...so make me an offer I cannot refuse.

"Yeah, you might say thaat, I guess."

Kiris follwed Lunar after replying to her question. In an effort to provoke the least amount of volatile coughs possible, Kiris took a slower pace, watching where she was leading him wih his righ eye, the left hidden behind a wall of hair. Kiris knew full well he could simply push the hair off to he side, but iit woouldn't do him any good. All it would do would cause people to stare for longer than normal. For, behind tthe mat of hair conceiling the left eyelay the fact that there was no eye to conceal. Just a black circle sewn to the skin surrounding an empty, scabbed socket. Leather on the side facing the socke, airtight cloth on the outside, the patch's only real use was to prevent infection.

Actually, the eye was the main reason Kiris had no place, and was forced to steal. After having it gouged out while trying to back out of a barfight he'd been forced to run out and skate on a medical bill he couldn't pay. Thus, they had repossesed everything he'd owned, except what he'd had on him. The doctors were supposed to have fixed his goddamn coughing to, if he'd been able to afford it. Kiris clenched his right fist, reflecting theatt the better course of action would've been to make the ******** bleed before he went at his eye. Oh well though, there was no use in attempting to change the past.

Kiris stumbled, odd scratching sounds coming frpm his mouth as he fought back cough after cough. He saw the girll seemingly slide into the ground. Kiris walked to where he'd seen her seemingly drop out of sight, and looked down to see a whole in the ground. Hoping the girl wouldn't hear him, Kiris hacked and sputtered facing away from the hole. He spit out a mix of blood, saliva, and snot several times, before stumbling towards the whole. Kiris let what he hoped to be one final cough escape, spit the blood away from the whole, and half lowered himself, half fell down the hole. Kiris slid down the short distance, finding himself in what looked like a large den of some animal, made larger and furnished to someone with more humanoid characteristics. He sat still at the entrance, and looked around, taking in all the details of the place.

::Gaurdus is now walking along Barton West Field. He sits down and drinks some beer. He watches a squirrel eating nuts, then stabs it. Gaurdus looks up and sees smoke rising to the heavens. He gets up and goes inside Barton Town, hoping he'd see his hit. His "hit" is wanted dead or alive, but Gaurdus prefers to kill someone, even if he gets a slightly smaller reward.::

"I-It's alright, really."

Kiris' having to reply cut short his scan of the den. It was a unique place. Better han anything he had, at any rate. He hurriedly shuffled himself off to thhe side, and watched Lunar climb and exit with the tin pot. Kiris then looked where she had indicated food. Feeling another cough, he clamped his mouth shut, and forced himself to swallow the foul concoction. Looking at the rolls, Kiris' stomach reminded him that the last tthing he'd eaen had been relatively clean snow when he hadn't been able to find any water, and it wasn't raining, late last night.

He took only one from the bowl. Swiftly, yet carefully as not to disturb the other rolls. He bit into it with furry, chewed the bare minimum number of times and swallowed hurriedly, barely tasting the bread. He took a smaller bite, letting it sit in his mouth a few moments to moisten it, then chewing and swallowing it. Finally, he stuffed all that was left into his face, shoving it past his teeth. With difficulty, Kiris chewed and swallowed. Having difficulty getting it down, he made a fist with his right hand and pounded his chest a couple of times. Hearing Lunar coming down the entrance, Kiris stepped to the side of the table, nearly trippingn over one of the crates in the process. Staying back as to not make himself a pest, Kiris responded to her question.

"Sure, if it's not any trouble."

Kiris then took to watching her seearch. He observed what she did have. She had a container for cooking, she had fuel, and Kiris could see cups plainly off to the side. What could she be looking for? Kiris examined the oven. he saw a place to secure it to the fuel, a stand, and a place where the flame would come out, along with a rest for a pot or pan. Nothing more than that though. Nothing to turn fuel into flame. The notion hit him, that shemust need something to light that stove with. Kiris felt with his left hand for the leather pouch secured to the back of his belt. He undid the top, and rifled through the contents of things he'd picked up living in the streets intermixed with what he'd been ablee to steal from the hospital before his flight. Finding them, one of a few common boxes of matches. Looing at it, Kiris could remember that it had been one of the two from the hospital, as opposed to the ones from various bar, and two boxes he'd picked up on the street.

Kiris reded the pouch, closing it, with his right hand. He leaned back, putting his weight onn the wall. He did not want t walk over, as to be a disturbance and interrupt the girl, even if it was for help. Casually, he tossed the box to get it moving. Kiris didn't want to show off, but he deemed this the best way. As the objestt was, in its rapid descent, about halfway to the grround, Kiris caught it with his mind, and gave it a motion forward horizontally. Te box nearing the girl, he brought it up to roughly her eye level, and floated it into the space in front of where her face was moving about.
