"Hmmm...Well. We've reached the edge of the forest. Toraka, speak up or I'll be forced to read your thoughts to find the way. We've got about 25 minutes until sundown." I hear something. "Stand back! There's someone near by!" Esteladan! White flames appear again, however, this time, they seem to be ready to be thrown. Ilisia hurls the flames in the direction of the sounds. D***! Must be an elf or a vampire! They're the only ones I cannot hear! OW! Ilisia falls to the ground screaming her head off. It's definitely an elf. Ow, that really hurt. Vampires don't sting when I'm done. Once she stopped screaming, Ilisia called out to the sounds. "Please come out! Elf! We know you're there!"

Rayne leapt up into one of the trees. Psycho! Attacks me with no warning! All I did was get lost! Rayne pulled her scythe off her back. If she attacks me again, I'll defend myself. "I'm coming down. If you attack me, I'll use force!" She climbed down slowly, using one hand to climb. The other held her scythe at the ready.

"Well, personally, I hate surprises. Sorry I attacked you. I don't really mean any harm. I just like to know what's coming. Besides, that magic can't hurt you. I'm only a Half-elf. My magic isn't strong enough to conquer yours." Ilisia sighed. "Anyway, put down your oversized knife. No one's going to hurt you. Would you happen to know the way from here to Kinton? My company was intending to stay the night in that town. Would you like to join us?" Ilisia smiled apologetically. I'm really not a psycopath. I just hate suprises.

Rayne leapt off the tree about five feet above the ground. She landed on her feet and used her scythe as an extra balance. "This 'oversized knife' is a scythe. And I'm sorry I'm a little defensive seeing as how I get attacked out of nowhere for being lost." She said sarcastically. She sighed and shook her head. "Sorry. I'm grumpy, tired and hungry. I also mentioned lost a second ago. I guess I should be polite to my savior, even if she startled me." She bowed low. "Please accept my apology."

Ilisia smiled. Then she sighed. "Toraka, last warning... Oh, what the heck. I can find my way to Kinton without your help. Ilisia looked wryly at the elf. "If you tell me your name and your abilities, I swear I won't try to mentally attack you again. Come with us. Sundown is only 20 minutes away."

Rayne bowed low. "My name is Rayne. I know how to weild different weapons in battle. I don't like magic used on me." She rose. "I'm pleased to meet you."

"Ilisia M'ordenaria at your service." Ilisia replied as she too bowed. "I have all the powers of regular Half-Elfs as well as defensive spellcasting. I am no master of weaponry. Come. Let us all go to Kinton." In fact, I think we're nearly there. I can hear the sounds of magic wards somewhere near. Ilisia suddenly looked at Rayne. "Um," she said awkwardly, "would you happen to know a far-traveling elf by the name of Terachii Goldwist? He's... Well, he's my father."

Rayne shook her head. "Sorry, but no. Have you met a boy named Rai anytime within the week? I got lost looking for him..." She didn't mention that once she found the boy she'd have to drag him to his teacher and have him explain why he ran away...

Ilisia smiled apologetically. "Sorry, I don't know any Rai. Why is it that you were looking for him? Well, we'll think about it in the morning. We've reached Kinton, Toraka! We're staying for the night. I know the woman who runs the local hostelry. Come."

Toraka snapped out of the daze she had slipped into and looked around her. They were in Kinton. Strange, must have been out for a while this time. When will I forget him? Why did I even come back here? She looked on at the group that walked towards the center of town to the local hostel. Is that a new person? She's talking to Illisia almost friendly. she paused. Oh no wonder she's an elf too. They always stick together, that's what got me that time. She growled at herself completely missing the weird looks some of the group sent her. No. This is ridiculous stop thinking about him. He's gone he left you. Brighten up and move on just keep- "Ow!" she screamed as she fell onto her butt. She had hit...a...wall. Wow she really was out of it...and she could swear she heard some laughter around her, elfish laughter. She looked up and brightened immediately. Her favorite place in the whole town and not only because they had the best ramen. The Silver Meadow Hostel!

Ilisia looked at Rayne curiously. Why does she really need to find that little boy? "Let's go in. Time to eat and to rest. We can start out again in the morning."
