Nefir cocked his head up at Shimofuri in a comical way. "Haiya-what?? You sure talk funny sometimes." He nodded and tried to jump the ledges as quickly and gracefully as his counterpart, but was less successful and even had a few moments of undignified hind leg scrambling before they stood at an impossibly high point looking out at a world of endless white. "Wow........" Nefir breathed, "It looks like the world ended up here."

Shimofuri quickly and agilely continued to climb up the mountain, pausing at points in order to wait for Nefir to catch up. She looked down with awe as they reached the top and were surrounded by snow. "Wow! Everything looks so small down there!" she gasped as she continued to look down.

Nefir grinned widely at Shimofuri and stamped his front feet. "Well, what're we waiting for!?" Not waiting for an answer (and not really wanting one), he leaped off of the ledge and began to slide down a steep incline, gathering snow all around him as he went. In no time at all he had accumulated so much snow that he had turned into a gigantic snowball, rolling down the rest of the incline and thumping into a large rock jutting out at the bottom, where it lay like a gigantic snowball someone threw.

Shimofuri laughed at Nefir before jumping off and joining him in rolling down. Snow began to form around her before she couldn't tell where she was going and going only remain rolling. She could feel the adrenalin flowing through her arms and legs, and still flowing as the ball ran into his and she kept moving from her ball into his.

Nefir saw, heard, and felt snow every which way. He started to get a little panicky, because he truly didn't know up from down at that point, when suddenly he seemed to feel a vibration from the ground; small at first, but rapidly getting larger. He heard some of teh snow around his ears falling away as the vibration suddenly seemed very loud, and he felt himself jolt really hard as Shimofuri's snowball crashed into his. He blinked as he saw Shimofuri's face staring back at him, inches from his own. He grinned and winked. "Fancy meeting you here."

Shimofuri blinked as she stopped moving, and smiled back at Nefir. "It's a small world," she coyly replied leaning in slightly closer to lick his nose. She smiled again, and then looked around. They were completely buried in snow.

Nefir's eyes bugged as Shimofuri licked his nose, then wrinkled it as he felt it get colder. "We'd better get out of here; I know it can't be good to stay here for too long. Hmm.....let's see.....how does that go again? Oh yeah." He looked straight at Shimofuri. "I read this somewhere, but it might be a little gross, just so you know."
He worked his mouth until he was working up a pretty good drool. He felt it sliding down the right side of his face, cooling and gradually turning to ice. He grinned at Shimofuri. "The only way drool travels is toward the ground. So that means we're currently sideways. We need to dig up with our left paws." He jiggled his left front paw and started scraping at the snow.

Shimofuri was slightly grossed out by the drool, but strained to not laugh as it froze on his face. "Ok!" she said as she looked towards her left hand and started to scrape at the snow there. It was easy enough, it was very softly packed, but there was enough of it to create a nice little tunnel from their cavern to the air outside.

Nefir yet out a whoop as he saw the bright sunshine stream in through the tunnel, though a piece of snow was jarred loose by his racket and landed on his head with a plop. He started to laugh, then his expression turned to horror and he began to thrash around violently. "There's SNOW in my ear!!!" He flailed his left paw until he could move it freely and then began to dig upward at a rate that made snow fly everywhere.
He was soon standing precariously on top of the two snowballs, smacking his head to get the snow out of his ear.

Shimofuri laughed as she watched Nafir do most of the work and dig a hole out. She crawled over to the opening and stood up, her waist and up in the open air. She jumped up just enough to land next to him, and whacked his head once to help with the snow.

Nefir felt himself conked on his head and he looked at Shimofuri cross-eyed. "Thanks; I needed that." He shook his head to clear the ringing and looked around him. Aside from the huge rock they were standing beside, the entire landscape was a white canvas. He turned to Shimofuri and shrugged. "Which way do we go now?"

"No problem," Shimofuri replied as she looked around. She thought for a while before replying with a smile and a coy tone in her voice. "Who says we have to go anywhere? Can't we just play here?"

Nefir's smile faded a little. "Well, we could, but I thought we were going to explore the frozen tundra and find gigantic ice caverns and maybe see a few ice creatures. Buuuuut...." He worked his paws beneath him, making a rather messy snowball. "If you want to stay here and play, then fine!" At the word 'fine', Nefir hurled his snowball at Shimofuri's chest, coming apart as it flew.

Shimofuri stepped to her left to dodge the snowball thrown at her but ended up falling into a small hole. She laughed as she pulled herself out and smiled at Nefir. "You know, you're right. We should go looking for those ice caverns and creatures. We could always play with them too."

Nefir laughed as he saw Shimofuri fall, already trusting in the padding power of snow. His eyes widened. "Really? Hey, maybe we'll find some ancient ice treasure!" Lowers his voice down to a whisper. "Know what kinda treasure the ice monsters like to haord?" He paused dramatically before continuing. "Diamonds. That's because they look so much like ice and are harder to find." He bounced on his feet gleefully. "Wouldn't it be just awesome to find a big huge treasure of diamonds?"
