((Sorry if you didn't notice. ^^;; I guess I should have said something, so it's my fault. sweatdrop ))

Yugi frowned at Seto. "That was really uncalled for!" He told him defensively, walking to stand by his new friend. "How can you judge him when you don't even know him?"
He didn't want there to be any fighting, but that by no means meant he was going to let anyone walk all over Jounouchi! He glanced back at the one who ran into them, wondering if he was ok and hoping he didn't get sucked into this.

((*blush blush* Well, I guess being obsessed with Jounouchi in a non-crush way for a couple of years pays off when it comes to RPs. ^^;; It also makes up for my horrible writing skills by knowing how to keep Jounouchi mostly in character... scratch the yaoi part... >>))

Jounouchi put a hand out to stop Yuugi, "It's fine Yuugi. I'll deal with him." he glared up at Kaiba, "Maybe we should take this outside. You think you're so great? Well I'm prepared to prove you wrong." He smirked and juggled some fire back and fourth between his hands.

((Well, I was originally planning for Jounouchi to just flat-out attack Kaiba (physically, rather than using magic), but then when Yuugi spoke up before I could post that it didn't seem natural, so I decided to do this. I personally don't care if there's a battle yet or not, so let's just let Kaiba decided. smile ))

However, remember.... the number you rolled on your 20 sided is the number of spells you can cast. ;3 You'll eventually get more, but that's what you started with.

The trick to this will also be how you define the spells, and that's where it can get interesting. ;3))

Yugi's eyes widened, and he jumped back a second before putting a hand on Jounouchi's arm. "Don't fight!!" He exclaimed. There were probably rules against it....
And he didn't like fighting anyway...

((Yeah, I know. It's so obvious that Jounouchi's gonna lose if they fight, not only because of his rank but also because it's Jounouchi versus Kaiba; Jounouchi always loses. XD))
Looking at Yuugi, Jounouchi realized he had already found a soft spot for him like they had been friends for years. "Yuugi, it's fine. You don't need to be involved in this. Why don't you go into the school. I don't want you getting into trouble. I started the fight so I'm gonna end it."

Seto smirked, he was certainly not the type to turn down a challenge, especially not one that he knew he could win so easily. He would put this Jounouchi in his place, and be assured that he would no longer have to deal with the boy. "Alright, I accept you challenge." He said, "I'll out you down like the dog that you are." ((I know this isn't puppyshipping, but I really couldn't help it...))

Suddenly, the wind began to pick up, his hair and trench coat billowing slightly in it's gusts.



((I figured I wouldn't start the battle yet, since you haven't posted the rules. And it would be wicked funny if a teacher came out right after the battle, or maybe even right before it started if you still think it is too early. And how long does it take for you spell count to go back up again? Like after a battle or whatever it was used for? Just wondering.))

((Well, spell count is actually the number of DIFFERENT spells you can have.
Your rank decides how much strength is behind your attacks (4 sided for fourth rank, six sided for third rank, eight sided for second rank and ten sided for first rank) and rank also helps the speed of your attack. (To see who goes first, roll a six sided and add the distance your rank is from 4.)

Stamina I'm not completely sure on, but I feel people should be able to rp that fairly well. ^^;
For now, you'll have 20 points worth of damage you can take, and the number of spells you can cast total depends on your rank. (eight spells for first rank, nine for second, ten for third and forth rank can cast up to twelve spells. This should help even out the power difference, and make sense because more powerful spells take more out of you. x3)
After a battle, it'll take a bit of recuperation time to get that back, which you can basically do by relaxing activities (sleeping, eating) and by getting healed.

Defensive things- well, if you have a defensive spell, you can use it to block/deflect/whatever an attack. If not, you can make a savings throw vs. spell, in which you have to roll the exact same number they made on their attack, and you can dodge.

Casting any sort of spell-
Basically, make up a spell, and name as well. Describe the effect and name it the first time you use it. After that, it's a permanent spell, and will count as one of the limited spells the roll of the twenty left you with.



And.... um, this is a very primitive battle system and obviously needs lts of work, so I'll need your input before posting the final one! XD
If you think there's a better way to do any of this, PLEASE TELL ME!

I'll post more in depth battle info, but this should do for now. x3 I'm eager to see how this works out anyway. ;3))

((x.X man, that is like the third time I have missunderstood the dice rolls and such. I'm really slow at this...

Anyway, as you can probably tell, I've never done very much of this battling rp stuff before. So for now have the basic battling systems is probably better for me, so that maybe I can actually do it. This ought to be an interesting experience though, I am rather excited to try it. I'll have to give my spells some thought, though...))

And yes, creativity will definitely be advantagous. x3 Even if you're a rank four with one spell, if you're very creative about it, you'll do well. ;3
Plus, everyone will get more spells as they progress.

Jounouchi was too excited about getting into a good fight to pay much attention to Atem, "I don't care what started the fight. I can't let this guy just insult us. Ready?" He jumped back into an open area of the grass.

((I have my seven attacks planned out now. I now feel kind of lucky that I only got seven, because it's hard to think of unique attacks for an elementalist, because they all have to do with fire. I'm sure once school starts, Jounouchi will learn some non-fire moves... hopefully. ^^;; Anyway, I thought for the battle system, moves could have certain effects, for example, I thought Jounouchi could have a move that burns his opponent so they lose half a damage per turn. Also, maybe certain attacks could have certain attack strengths and speeds that you add to your dice roll, but the more you add the more drawbacks they have. For example, attack does 3 damage plus dice roll, but you have to give up one of your attacks/turns to use it. Just a thought. Ooh, this is so fun! It's like a video game! Heh, I felt like I was naming Pokemon moves when I named all my moves. XD
Also, I thought during a full moon all of Jounouchi's attacks that could gain power and/or speed gain five plus the dice roll, but I list an attack to a dice number and roll a six-sided dice (there is one attack that Jounouchi won't be able to use on full moons, because he can't control himself enough to use it) so I won't be able to choose what he uses. What do you guys think?))

One of the reasons I still have to work in the battle system is because of special abilities that cause effects (like Jounouchi's, but also things that might be used by illusionists and psionisists that can affect the other player.

However, I think I have an idea for it, we'll see though. x3)

(Note- the idea being once again a savings through. If your ability has an effect, you roll a ten sided with one extra for every rank you are away from four, and your opponent does the same. If they roll a higher number, then they escape the effect. If you roll the same or higher, then the attack's affect is succesful. x3 Sound good?)

Oh yeah, and if the affect is something REALLY nasty/complicated/whatever, and/or something that'll be really hard, I'll probably give you an added penalty for it just because of that.))
