Skittles shrugged. "I guess it might be sorta sweet. I mean sometimes it's nice to have her around..for food and stuff. But she tries to stay in all of our business and she's overly controlling." He didn't say it with spite, but with slight humor as he thought about how it frustrated his human that he didn't have much of a social life.

Raspberry nodded. She could see how that might get annoying. "Maybe she can help your with your garden when I can't. At least then it's something useful." She nodded.

Skittles nodded. "Yeah, put all that excess energy to good use!" he laughed. "But.. I don't think she likes gardening." He frowned. "But maybe if I promised to pickle some cucumbers for her." He laughed again. "You know anyone who knows how to pickle stuff?"

"No, I don't think I do. I could ask my sister. She might know." Raspberry thought about her twin Blueberry. "I, myself, prefer my veggies and things fresh and ripe. But that doesn't mean everyone does." The elder looked to see if they were close yet. It was a nice walk none the less.

Skittles nodded. "I like mine fresh too," he agreed. They soon came up to a house with a few trees out front. "This is it! I think we cold put the garden on the side." He motioned to where he meant. "The back is full of lots of junk." It wasn't really junk, but was junk to him because he had no use for any of it.

Raspberry walked over to the spot Skittles pointed out. She ran her paws through the dirt. She even took a little and tasted it. Raspberry looked back to Skittles with a smile. "Yes, I think this soil will do. Now, we just need to till it."

Skittles watched as Raspberry check the soil. He didn't know much about it except that it was brown..and dirty. His eyes widened as she tasted a bit of the dirt. "Well I'm glad you can tell. I don't think I could tell good soil from terrible soil if my life depended on it." He paused for a moment as he thought hard. "...till?" he asked as he tilted his head.

Raspberry looked to Skittles and nodded. "Yep, we need to till the earth to that the roots of the seeds can take hold. Watch me."" Raspberry then began to claw at the ground with her front paws. It looked like hard work, but Raspberry didn't mind it. "Want to try?"

"Oh this looks easy! I love to dig!" He began doing what she did, clawing gently at the ground. But then he began to get carried away and began making a hole without realizing.

Raspberry giggled. "Oh, not so deep. That would be too far for the sprouts to find their way to the top." She then toiled the soil a little more herself. She was making nice rows with her claws like she needed.

"Oh!" he gasped when he realized what he'd done. "Oops. More like this?" he laughed as he mimicked her again, making sure he was gentle enough that he didn't make it too deep.

"Yes, that's better. Now these rows will be for the cucumbers. I think the flowers should go around your house. What do you think?" Flowers looked nice in beds where people could look at them. That what flowers were for, to be pretty and looked at.

Skittles stared at the patch of dirt they had been tilling and slowly nodded. "More room for cucumbers!" he said with a laugh. "Flowers by the house will make the house look much prettier." He wondered if they should plant any more vegetables in the garden here. He wasn't sure what the others who lived here liked.

"Okay, after I'm doing showing you how to plant the seeds and water them here, then you can try with the flowers. How does that sound?" She smiled as looked agian at the soil. "I think we can move on to planting."
Raspberry got out the cucummber seeds. "You make a hole with your claw, then put one seed inside, cover the hole and then move over 2 inches and plant another." She then showed him with a few.

Skittles watched carefully, and tried his best to mimic her. He stuck out one claw, and dug it gently into the dirt. The urge to dig again hit him suddenly, but he resisted. He made one small hole then stared at it. "Is this big enough, or should I make it deeper?" he asked almost hopefully.
