In my spiritual beliefs, we all pick things we want to experience and go through for our own soul's benefit.

I can relate...

I have imagined it being sort of like registering for classes...
You KNOW what credits you need when you sign up for a class
but then the experience VARIES for ecah individual depending on who else registered for that same class at that same time, in other words, each individual will have different interactions, making each potential experience unique.

I have yet to visit this thread, so I finally decided that I really ought to. I can't bring myself to talk about my lost loved ones either, even though there has been a significant amount of time since I lost my beloved grandmother, who Toni is named for (middle names only) But I just wanted to stop in and pass around some hugs, and warm thoughts heart heart

Well, I have some heartbreaking news... my parents lost their beloved pet today. His name was Jake and he was about 7 years old. Dad got him from my uncle who left him out on a deer lease to get rid of him. Dad took him in and gave him a good home and he became one of the family. He was my daughters' protector, he watched over them and wouldn't let any other dog near them. And he was my dad's best friend. He was diagnosed with heartworms about a month ago and the vet put him on some heartworm treatment. He was doing really well with it and the vet had confidence that it could be completely healed of it. Well today... a pit came in the yard and picked a fight with him, he gave it all he had but with the treatments he was getting made him weaker than normal. So he couldn't keep up very long and the pit chewed him up pretty bad. Mom called us this morning to run over there and take him to the vet. When we got him to the vet, he said that he was only suffering from minor puncture wounds and shock... which he could have recovered from that easily. But what happened is that the shock he suffered in combination with the heartworm treatment caused a blood clot in his heart which made his heart stop. My dad is very upset and feels that he's at fault because he let him out of the house. Everyone send some prayers our way for my parents because they're pretty hurt over this.

*HUGGS Everybody*

I almost forgot to mention too that Mom lost her cat, Katie, here about a month ago, from epilepsy. She took that pretty hard too. Poor things, they're just getting it tough these few weeks cry

cry
how awful!
but what a wonderful animal to have as a pet, that's a tragic way to lose a pet, but he was obviously a heroic beast!
i'm tearing up a bit here and i REALLY feel for your parents crying

As a hard core animal lover, I can agree that losing a pet can hurt very deeply. My sister and I were talking about the kitty I had to have put to sleep a few weeks back, and I felt like I would cry for him all over again.

Jason and I just got the news that Jason's first cousin (younger than both of us) took a turn too sharply on his motorcycle, hit a tree, and snapped his neck. I don't think his family's ever had a member die so young like that.

eek i feel for him and his family right now!
how are you about it fawN?
Because it's happened so suddenly i imagine there's a lot of blank shock around right now, you just can't seem to take in sudden tragedies like that.
The only losses in my immediate family have been through old age /illness so i know i'd be totally unprepared for the mental anguish that something like that would cause cry

ok..i checked and checked to see where i could put this...but this thread is where it needs to be...

after naunny(stephanie) passed away it hit me hard....after the twins were born i started subbing a paper route...the paper route ended over by where steph use to live.....everytime i went in there i got to thinking about her..i missed her...then one night while i was riding in the trailer park i happened to look up and saw a shooting star...i thought that was cool....i thought it was a one time thing..i mean..you know how you dont see too many falling stars...but for every friday night that i did the paper route...as soon as i went in there, there was another shooting star...and since then i have had this image in my head about naunny....

we all know that our purkle sunny has been doing edits...so i asked her if she might could make this image i have had...i explained it to her and let me tell you..she captured it to a T..........

since those nights i have had an image of steph sitting on high throwing stars accross the sky..letting me know she is still near....

thank you sunny for making this for me...you just dont know how much it means to me...butterfly luffles you a LOT crying heart

that is a great story and a great edit!!! heart heart heart heart heart

Which reminds me...My Mama (grandmother) used to always say that whenever we saw a cardinal come to the window or perch in a tree it was my Uncle Joe (he passed in 1981) cuz that was his fave bird. When I got married, as me and my bridesmaids were walking down the path to the bridge, we saw TWO cardinals. My cousin reminded me of the story of her dad (my Uncle Joe) and said it was prolly him and our mama coming to see the wedding.

i love stories like this too...and i truely believe that they are watching us and sends us signs that they are still around us...i was a bit worried about telling my story for fear of yall thinking me crazy(well crazier then normal)...but knowing that there are others who have had experiences somewhat like mine is a relief.....so if anyone else has any kind of story like this..please feel free to share.... biggrin

Oooh I love both of those stories! I got chills reading them. 4laugh I often get chills too when I read something that just makes sense, like in a spiritual book or something, like when a truth hits home.
