Zahzi

Distinct Lunatic

Zahzi watched the event from further away, almost reaching for one of his pistols, thinking it was some sort of hostility.
"• • •"

He looked over at the group, noticing no one was reacting the same way, so he took his hand away from one of the pistols.

Malcolm looked at Amnity with a face halfway between fear and pure joy.
"I know. That should not have been able to happen."
He quickly looked back down at the book, searching for some kind of explanation. What he found was something slightly different. He looked up at Amnity.
"Wanna get out of here?"

Amnity looked up at the sky, still not believing that that just happened....But then again, she did have much more unbelievable encounters when she was a child. She looked back at Malcom, her face showed no trace of emotion what so over, but her heart felt like it was about to leap out of her chest at what they had discovered. She nodded, then fixed her jacket before getting off the bench. Never before was she so eager to learn something, she knew that they were on a road to discovery. If only Malcolm could read just a few more things...

She walked on ahead, not knowing where he wanted to go. She decided that they should go to the library, that's where she usually goes to find peace and solice. Amnity looked back at Malcolm, then to Zahzi, then to Belle and Tsuki. If anyone of them other then the one that can read Russian comes along, she would go ballistic, and it said it in her eyes. "....Library..." She said very stoically to Malcolm before continuing down the street.

Malcolm hurried to catch up with Amnity, grabbing her by the arm when he did.
"Not like that" He whispered, glancing back at the book. "I think there is another way.."

Amnity tugged her arm back so he would let go of her. She looked down at the book, then back at Malcolm with a look that asked 'What other way?' Though she didn't ask it out loud, the expression on her face spoke for her.

Malcolm gave a small smile and grabbed her arm again,
"I think you have to be touching me, and even you don't it's better to be safe."
He opened the book, turning quickly to the page he was looking for.
"Ok, I think I found it." He said nervously, double checking the reference to make sure. "отведите меня домой! (Allocate me home)"
In a flash of bright light, both Malcolm and the girl disappeared, reappearing in the dimly lit reading room of Malcolm's home.
"Well that was... weird.." Malcolm said, collapsing into a nearby chair.

Amnity rolled her eyes when he grabbed her arm again. Before she could open her mouth to say something that might hurt his feelings, they both disappeared and reappeared in a dim looking study room. That's...Different... Alright, maybe she was a bit shocked at all that happened, but still, she did see worse. She looked around for a second before looking back to Malcolm. "....The book." She reminded him. Amnity wanted to get straight to the point, she didn't want to spend all day in some stranger's house

Malcolm smiled and moved to a desk.
"Of course, the book." He stopped suddenly, then turned to look at the girl. "You know, I don't believe I've caught your name"

Back at the park, Tsuki was more confused then ever about the current going ons. First the flash of bright light, and now both Malcolm and the strange girl had vanished into thin air. Something was definitely not right.

"Amnity." She replied quickly. "Amnity Porter." Scratching her head, Amnity tried to remember how people usually introduce themselves to each other. After not speaking for almost her whole life, she lost most of her knowledge on human communication. "...You?" It was supposed to be proper to ask for the other person's name. After the little introduction fest, she was looking forward to get back to the book and learn the other secrets that could be hidden in it's pages.

Malcolm smiled at Amnity.
"My name is Malcolm. Nice to meet you Amnity."
He returned his gaze to the book, absently taking out a Russian dictionary from a shelf along the wall.
"So far we have learned two things about this book, number one, it can make things very bright, and number two, it can teleport people. The question, is how, and why."
He looked up at Amnity,
"Any thoughts?"

"Where...." Amnity stood beside him and looked down at the book, delicately tracing the title on the cover with her fingers. "...Did you get this?" She asked. Where he got it is a crucial detail as to how they're going to solve what's really in this mysterious book. "...A...Spell book?..." Her eyes never left the letter. She continued to flip the pages, scanning the symbols and pictures quickly, completely transfixed.

Malcolm looked at Amnity as if it was teh strangest question in the world.
"A friend of mine keeps his eyes open for rare books, that's all."
He gently took the book from Amnity and began analyzing a page.
"And I don't think it's a spell book, rather, a book of commands, commands that pertain to a being of some sort, possibly that light we saw in the park.

"Spell book." Amnity insisted stubbornly, slowly taking the book back and placing it back on the table.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 18, 2008 11:43 am

Malcolm took the book back once again and placed it on the table in front of him.
"Hmm, we shall see, you may be right, or I may be right, or maybe we're both right."
He turned a page and stopped suddenly.
"Well now, that's interesting." He whispered, "I wonder.."
He moved silently to the window, opening it wide.
"I believe I've found something, but if it works, it may not be pretty for the people outside.. This window overlooks the lake, so I think it'll be fine."
He moved back to the table and lifted the book up and examined the page intently. He moved absently over to the window, mumbling under his breath as he translated the instructions.
"Aha, I think I get it now" He said, stretching his hand out, pointing at the window. "станьте пламенем! (Become a flame)"
No sooner had to words left his mouth, a swirling ball of light appear in the center of his hand. The light shrunk to nearly the size of pea, then ignited into a small inferno, coating his hand in flame.
Now quite naturally, Malcolm dropped the book, and screamed. and then tried to put the fire out, which worked, and also ruined his curtains.

Amnity just watched as he began chanting another spell, as she read the book over his shoulder. Even when his hand caught on fire, she was so focused on the book and the different enchantments in them. She caught the book before it fell on the ground and opened up to the page with the fire command he just read. "....May I?"
