lotusvoid Volvy Tool, Lacuna Coil, Nightwish, Tool, Deicide, Tool, Dragonforce, Tool, and several others I can't think of at the moment. And Tool. tool? not kvlt enough? now before you flip on me... the following statement is not necessarily directed at you, as I do not know why you chose this thread to so ... eloquently... display your disdain for tool. I have found that just because a band is popular (even that popular) does not mean that it is bad, and people who allow that sort of thing to affect their taste is obviously paying to much attention to other people, and not enough to the music. scream burning_eyes well I agree, like in the case of Nightwish. but tool? Tool is not bad cause it's popular, it's bad just because. Have any reason to tell us why it isn't?

I am not saying that his dislike is not valid. I am commenting on the anti tool movement, the backlash from the aforementioned people from their wild mainstream popularity, and my dislike for basing ones decision on a validity of a band by its mainstream popularity. and despite best efforts to overplay tool by some, I do like them.

I second Iron Maiden, Nightwish, Cannibal Corpse, newer DragonForce, Immortal (they're just for the lulz, not musically talented), Celtic Frost (they were alright live though back in 2005)... hmmm...
I don't really like Korpiklaani. Some good songs, but in general, blah, repetitive songs and bad pronounciation of English.

FUN has to count for something in music. if you cant have fun, then whats the friggin point? oh and btw, i nom dark funeral

And the thread is for METAL bands, tool isn't metal. Always read the first post talk2hand Lol, the others were just throw ins (though all true) so I could say Tool more times. And call them what you will, I've seen Tool defined as metal often enough that I'm willing to throw them out there. Especially since I really don't like them.

I just really don't like Tool, regardless of their popularity level.

Is it telling that the "don't like" thread is three pages longer than the "do"? xd
Judas Priest. Yeah, I respect their contribution, but their music just sounds primitive and hard rocky to me.
