Peppy the Pirate Super Joshina 3 I wish the items you won for collecting fish were items people would actually want, instead of ******** fish hats. I agree with THAT. I thought the items would be clothes that real fishermen would be actually caught dead wearing: rubber boots, an old hat with 20 lures stuck in it, a fisherman's beard... I'd actually wear that... That'd be the coolest Gaia outfit ever! TO THE SUGGESTIONS FORUM!

Ever-Infamous Kojiro-san While you're at it, throw in a suggestion to toss our fish back if we don't want them. And if you toss trash back there's a 5 gold penalty for littering!

Fair warning!
The fishing game has been ruined by the server switching process this week. Both Floyd and I have lost full buckets of fish due to a time out error that happens while playing the fishing game. I hope that with the installation of the new servers, this will be a thing of the past.
To play it safe, don't fish for the time being.

Floyd informed me that this happened to him twice.
While fishing yesterday, he found that clicking on the main browser window and checking to see if he had been logged out helped out. He found that he had been timed out at around 10 minutes into a round of the Durem game. After logging back into Gaia, everything saved properly.
So, before your fishing game ends, check to see that you're still logged in before you catch that last fish. If you're not logged in, you loose it all.

Time for me to be a forum necromancer and revive our official Fishing Thread.
Well, I tested out Fishing 1.5 and, uh, yeah. There's multiplayer fishing now. Multiplayer...Fishing...sounds bad, I know. And there are NEW FISH, but they're just recolourings of the old ones. And I lost five of my fish due to some store glitch (yay).
I personally love how in G-Fishing you either get 20-30 gold fish or ten-thousand gold fish. Why no inbetweeners? How about a hundred-two hundred gold fish? Or even a fifty?
Discuss, those of you that still fish. Or...uh...care, alternatively.

I've played the new fishing for a bit. First of all, time to be a geek and point out that the numbering system used to denote versions of the fishing is totally wrong... a 1.5 version? Is this the actually an expansion pack for a finished version?
It looks nicer on the whole. The flash bells and whistles are well animated, and the interface is smoother on the whole.
As a game? 'Tis the same old fishing. I want to try out the multiplayer fishing though, and see how it actually works.
Either way, not as good as Sega Bass Fishing for the Dreamcast and its excitingly animated flapping fish.

Multiplayer is actually not too different from single player... It's like a 5 people chatroom, with the fishing game added. Funny thing is, there is not a lot of chatting. OH! And you can see what other people are catching, or if they fail to do so. It's a bit funny and entrancing, when you're tired/bored/high.

I'm really unhappy with the way things changed in the Durem game. It takes as long as an hour to fill a bucket with a performance rod plus now.
Fishing is much better in the Gambino game. While I don't make the amount of gold I was used to before the change, at least I'm making gold without wasting my time.
