Akiya agreed as he was given over his pie and he smiled happily before he began digging in happily. "Yup. They're good at making sure they don't take forever.. it must be nice to have enough people on staff hehe."
Jiro's brow shifted a little bit and he pondered it. Hmmm... "It's possible he knows some kinda of magic... he has like a magic voice... I wouldn't trust it..." But he was only joking due to the fact Sah sang him to sleep on nights were he just couldn't. His voice was always soothing. Thanking the waiter for his ice cream, he savored it. "So what are you gonna be doing when you leave here?"

Pales laughed and nodded, "Definately nice, I bet." he ate a bit more of his pudding, "So good. Better than mom's!" Pales then glanced around as if checking for his foster mother that he grew up with, "Haha..Oi, if she'd have heard that I'd have gotten a whack with a wooden spoon on the head for sure."
Armel shrugged at the question and looked thoughtful, "Pro'ly finish up m'room. Da has been working on it for weeks, lets me help sometimes. Though he has taken to locking me out of it now, saying he wants it to be at least a surprise -- somewhat." Armel gave a shrug and reached forward to drink from his water, before continuing on his treat. "'Ow about ye? What'll ye be doin'?"

He chuckled at the thought and he actually tried to think about it. What that would look like... but nothing came to mind. Which made him pout. "I've never had a mother figure... so I wouldn't know what that was like." There was no sadness behind the statement, just a known fact. It was the one thing he lacked in, something he would never get to know about. A mother's touch. But he had grown up just fine without one.. he guessed. "Though I suppose being whacked with a wooden spoon would suck..."
Rubbing at his nose, he tilted his head a bit before he gave a little shrug. "Probably practice my shamisen... or go out hunting or something. I'm sure my pets are hungry by now. I would hang out with Khia, but he's with Uncle right now and I'm not gonna be barging in on the man when he's not feeling well..." He then put a huge spoonful of ice cream into his mouth and ate it slowly before he spoke again. "That's pretty much it, I think... so why should your room be a surprise?" He didn't quite understand that logic.

Pales laughed a bit and nodded, "My first mother committed suicide when I was young...The one I grew up with is ... Odd. I love her though, she is a kind woman though she tries to overfeed you." Pales didn't look or seem sad when he mentioned his birth mother had committed suicide. He kept a cheerful outlook, he must have defeated that particular emotional demon ages ago.
Armel listened to Jiro's plans and nodded as he finished eating and then drained his drink glass of it's contents before replying to the question of confusion, "I dun'o. He's funny that way." Armel laughed a bit and shrugged, "Sometimes ye just humor the adults, so that way they stay happy." He nodded sagely.

"Ah... my parents died a long time ago when I was a baby.. locked me in a tomb to keep me safe.. but that's a long story heh." A somewhat sheepish looked crossed over his features and that was all he was gonna say about his past. "But it's always good to have a loved one, even if they like to overfeed you hehe."
"Parents are so weird." And to him, they were. Just simply weird. But he just supposed that's how they were meant to be and he nodded. "Humoring them is fun.. especially when they think they're onto something and they're really not."

Pales listened to Akiya for a moment and then nodded, looking quite unjudging of his new friend and just smiled, "It is good I guess. Though I am sometimes still lonely even with family." He shrugged and glanced at Armel and chuckled, "I sometimes wonder if my ... single lifestyle will make him a loner, but he seems okay with just him and me."
Armel literally let out a giggle nodding at Jiro, completely agreeing with the other boy, "Aye!"
Armel took his napkin and dried out the inside of his glass and seemed to have a look of concentration as he took up a chopstick and balanced the bottom of his plastic glass on the top of the chopstick. "Saw this at a bazaar." He mentioned trying not to let it fall.
Eventually it fell, but over toward Pales' side. The man caught it, simply thankful the boy had dried it out first. Pales smiled a bit and patted the ram-horned boy on the head.

"I've always been busy so I don't think I've really had time to feel lonely. Which, in the long run, is probably the best thing heh..." Noticing that Jiro was done with his ice cream, he calmly moved the bowl away from the boy could stick his face in it to lick it clean. Jiro looked at him with a pout before he took out a chopstick it and spun it between his fingers. "Heh you shouldn't worry about that. As long as Armel is loved by you, I'm sure he's happy with just the two of you."
Snickering as Armel agreed with him, he nodded, cause it was true. Adults were really silly and always thought they knew what a child was thinking. Akiya was smarter than most adults, but that was because he was still a young teen... by the laws of his people anyway. When Armel did his trick, he leaned forward carefully to watch, still spinning his chopstick in one hand. It was something he just did without thinking about it. more of a soothing thing than anything else. Akiya allowed it because that was better than him tapping his fingers on the table. "Cool... you gotta show me how to do that!" When it feel, he blinked and he was sure Pales was glad the glass was dried out first.

Pales laughed a bit and nodded, "Some people give me the hairy eye about it though. It isn't like I go around with a different person. I stay at home with them and devote most of my time to them, if not all of it." He shrugs, "I have ways of getting money so income isn't a problem. I manage fine on my own." Pales shrugged slightly and sighed, "Though Armel doesn't seem to mind too much that I am around almost all the time. When he is older that'll be sure to change."
Armel took the glass back after Pales offered it back to him, and telling him to be careful, "Da, s'just plastic." He muttered gruffly and then got up and wandered next to Jiro, keeping the walk way clear for others and the waiters. "The trick is to 'ave balance and to kinda follow where it leans toward." Armel demonstrated it, "Though if you're good you don't have to follow it anywhere it just stays in one place." Armel explained paitently, while demonstrating. The boy had been at it for a while. Pales let him do tricks like this as it seemed to occupy Armel's mind most of the time while the man ran around doing house chores.
Armel managed to balance the glass for a full two minutes before it started sway this that and the other until it finally fell, but Armel was more prepared this time and caught it with his free hand, "Heh, oops."

Akiya was silent for awhile before he gave a little shrug. "Can't tell. I don't think about such things, to be honest. I already have four sons of my own and Jiro is part of that family. I raise him as my son and as nothing less. THough I'll let him make up his own mind about everything as he gets older, I still plan on being there with him ever step of the way. It's all parents can really do, I guess..." His nose wrinkled as he spoke of how people looked at him funny. That was a sore spot with him, but he didn't say that. Just wrinkled his nose in distaste. "Beh.."
As armel came over to show him his trick, he watched it closely, wanting to know how this worked so he could try on his own at home. It looked simple enough.. but it truly wasn't and he clapped a bit as he balanced his cup properly. "Oooh awesome! But can you put the chopstick on the table and try to balance it this way?"

"Beh is right, my friend." Pales chuckled good naturedly and stared at his empty cup for a moment before glancing at Jiro and Armel. A couple more moments and then they would be leaving, he looked at Akiya and smiled, "My friend, thank you again for the wonderful time. It was fantastic to talk to you and I sincerely hope to do it again sometime!"
Armel seemed to consider what Jiro asked and then knelt to the floor, "S'kinda tricky I think. Cause then y' 'ave t'leave it the fates, and anyone that is clumsy enough to bump the table to see if the cup stays..." He muttered softly studying his chop stick he nodded, "Need a chopstick with a nice wide flat end, and a steady hand." Armel showed how still his hands are by displaying one. Which in truth there wasn't even a nervous flutter to them. A workman's hand. A hand that can do fine detail without much ado. The hands were young though, still apt to make a mistake or few.
Armel put the glass down and concentrated on getting the chopstick to stand on it's own. Sort of pressing it to the table to flatten the bottom of it. The chopstick bent to his will being made of flimsy cheap wood, the chopstick stood on it's own, "Sorta cheatin' I guess." Armel observed thoughtfully to Jiro, but continued getting the glass now to balance it on the free end. Though once the glass was placed it didn't stay long, clattering to the table with a soft plastic-y clunk and the chopstick fell as well. The fall of the chopsticks was a little less noticable over the noise of the plastic cup once it hit table surface, "Fah, well, something to practice on til' next we see eachother." The boy responded to the failure with a laugh.
Pales had cringed slightly, glancing around but not seeing annoyed faces, which was good.

"Agreed! We'll have to meet again. Or else Jiro might rip out my hair if I don't allow Armel to come with him to where he gets his weapons made and such as that." Jiro did sometimes do such things but he was a child and he showed that side of him... a lot. Mainly around him but not around others. For some reason. "I hope we didn't keep you from anything..."
"I would think it would be trickier than what was done before, hence why it's a lot more fun in the first place." Jiro's eyes followed every movement Armel made because he did wish to learn about it and how he could try it for himself. It did seem to work, after Armel had taught that weak little chopstick to behave. Wood ones were crappily made, but he didn't wish to use his gold ones for eating so wood would have to do, he supposed. Though bamboo ones were spiffy.
When the cup fell, he winced at the annoying sound it made but his eyes only blinked once. "Least it can be done, neh?" When Pales said they would be leaving soon, he pouted a bit. "Neh next time, let's meet at the park and I'll bring you to where I live! I can show you around! And show you my favorite place to be! When I'm not hunting heh.. would that be okay with your da?"

Pales laughed at Akiya's commentary and nodded, "Armel would of course probably do the same to me if I kept him from it. It seems to fascinate him." The man chuckled and shrugged before answering to the next comment, "No, but sadly, all good things must come to an end, at least for a while," Pales took a note pad from his jacket pocket and a pen, "I'll give you directions and our address. Come over anytime, and don't be afraid to call on me if something is needed." It was obvious that Pales would do anything for a friend, just met or not.
Armel grinned at Jiro and nod, "Aye, agreed. It is always funner with a challenge involved," he then moved around and righted the cup and sat across from Jiro again.
"Anythin' can be done if y'stubborn enough." Armel grinned at his friend nodding.
Pales seeming to have picked up what Jiro said as he handed the notepad paper to Akiya, "Of course it's fine. Just let us know when is best and we will surely be there."
Armel nodded enthusiastically, "Aye. I look forward to it." The boy grinned happily. It was good to connect so well to someone, and someone that likes to do some of the same things he liked to do.

"Kids are always easier to deal with if they're interested in something. Keep sthem quiet for the longest time." He seemed rather amused before he nodded in understanding. It wans't like they were joined at the hip or anything, which would have been weird to begin with, but goodbyes would have to be said sooner or later. "Least for now, indeed." He took the folded piece of paper and looekd at it carefully before he put it away. "I'll keep that in mind. I would give you directions to my house... demo.. unless you can make portals into pocket dimensions, it'd be a bit hard heh. I'm sure we'll pop by and you'll get tired of us sooner or later hehe."
Jiro nodded because he agreed with him whole heartedly. It was all about the challenge, after all, the more difficult, the better the outcome. "I can't wait to have you come visit, then! My place is kinda big, so it's always nice to have someone over." He wouldn't mind it from Armel, because they did have so much in common. Usually, he would agree to meet again, not invite them over. "Zyukori marketplace is really big and you can buy anything you could posibly want there.. that's partly why I love it so much heh." It seemed like they had to go home and he inclined his head. "please have a safe journey home."

Pales chuckled and nodded to Akiya, "I totally agree. Quiet children are often happy children -- So long as they are in sight." He smiled and shrugged, "As far as being able to make portals and the like, I can't do such things, though if I ever learn how you will be among the first to be notified." Pales gave a short chuckle as he slowly began to stand, "Come on Armel say your goodbyes. We will see them again soon. I promise."
Armel frowned a bit at Pales but nodded before listening to what Jiro said, "Aye! Sounds excitin'. I can't wait t'see it." He sounded and looked excited about prospect of it all, "Ye have a save journey too m'friend." He smiled genuinely at Jiro, "See ye again real soon!" He then moved to follow his Da after the man had paid his end of the ticket -- the sweets.
"Thanks again, it was a real pleasure meeting the both of you." Pales smiled at Jiro and Akiya, "Just let us know what time is best to meet you both and we'll be there for sure."
Armel nodded and waved at them both, "Happy days to ye both!"
With that they both went and exited the resturant.
