Bakura didn't feel Amia leave his arms. So when he woke up to see nobody there, he shock up and looked around. Was.... everything just.... a dream? No, he shook his head. He knew Amia was here- were was she though? He was a bit freaked out- she wasn't in his arms. It wasn't a dream, it couldn't have been. Or was this a nightmare he was in now? Sometimes he couldn't tell. He walked quickly around, thinking she was somewhere close. He walked up to the bathroom, the door was closed. Now, usually somebody would just knock to see if somebody was in there. Not Bakura, he opened the door and called, "Amia?" Thankfully, there was a cover that shielded Amia when she was taking a shower.

"Wha?" Amme said when the covers were pulled off of her. She was trying to continue that dream of hers- to see who the siloutted man was. Instead, she saw Seto standing over her. Not the person she wanted to see. "Ughhhhhh," she mummbled taking back her blanket. "It's not time to wake up yet....." she said thinking (for some dumb reason) that he would go away by doing that.

Amia nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard Bakura "Um yes?" she asked as she pulled the curtain back slightly and peaked around it to look at him. her cheeks were glowing red "I'm sorry i didn't want to wake you, so I decided to let you sleep." it was obvious she was bathing, her hair was wet and had some shampoo in it and she was hiding behind the thank fully dark curtain.her clothes were also folded up on the counter.

Seth was becoming irritated and he pulled the blanket completely off of the bed "nonsense! its mid morning! everyone is up and doing their duties but you! now get up and get dressed or next time I'll get ice cold water to wake you..." he walked out with a slight scowl on his face "women." he snorted.

Bakura's face turned red with embarassment as he looked away. "Ah..." he mummbled under his breath. "No, it's fine," he said in a strange timid voice. "S...." he began to say, "sorry," he mummbled under his breath. He turned his back to her and said, "I'll be in here when your finished." He closed the door and walked to one of his couches. Plopping down he rubbed his forehead a bit. Why was he so worried about her? She wouldn't leave now. It was his paranoia bothering him. He kinda felt bad for storming in, which was also so strange for him. He could do anything he wanted and yet he felt like he did something wrong when he stormed in. Obviously it was. Well, at least Amia wasn't mad at him. He rubbed his face a bit- feeling the warmth of his reddened fave. He tried to make it go away. He also couldn't get the thought of Amia in the shower out of his mind. That aggravated him. He knew Amia to be his childhood friend, now different thoughts were flooding his mind. He growled at himself, unable to adjust to these strange feelings.

Of course, that didn't work. Amme made her own scowl (though it was barely threatening) when the blanket was pulled off. She sat up slowly as Seto was leaving her room. While he wasn't looking, she stuck her tongue out as she rubbed her eye. Guess she had to get up. She got out of bed and walked to her own small bathroom. She took a quick shower. After so, she dried herself off and put on clean clothing. She walked out and went to her mirror to brush her hair. She wondered what was in store today. What obligations she had to do. She had no problem with doing what she had to- it was her freetime she wanted back. After her duties, she would have to go back to her room while she could be out there helping more people.

Amia soon finished and came out of the bathroom. she ran her fingers through her still wet hair. she sat beside Bakura and smiled at him "It's ok you didn't know i was bathing.... an thank you for holding me last night. I had a nightmare. though they're common for me, this one seemed... different.." she was afraid to tell him what it was so she stared at the wall deep in thought. her clothes clung to her still wet body so it was much like tight leather.(lol poor Bakura is going to go insane XD)

the guards escorted Amme to her working area and waited outside.

Bakura looked at her with a calm face, free of any type of scowl. He hadn't smiled in years, and smirks didn't count- so when he was happy it was when he wasn't scowling. He was about to say something, but took notice of Amia's clothing. God damn, when did she become such a woman? It drove him crazy- she was just about the most beautiful woman he's seen and she was his childhood friend. She could have been mistaken as a boy when she was little and now she's blossomed! He growled at himself again, thinking things he didn't want to; well, he did but didn't want to admit it. "Yes, I saw. You seemed to be in your own hell in your dreams," he said. Usually, he would deny his act of kindness and say it was for a different reason- but he couldn't find it to lie to her. Nor could he even come up with an excuse. "Are you hungry?" he said. His voice was also a lot more calmer then usual. It was a nice start, considering.

Amme followed the guards into her work station. Here was were guards that were hurt were brought to. Not only them, but those in the palace that didn't feel well or were sick. There weren't that many people today- at the moment. She walked up to an old man that has been staying here for the past few weeks. He was slowly dying from something Amme could not cure- old age. However, she was able to make his pain go away. So that when he was ready to pass on- he would not be in pain. "Hello sir," she said to him as she sat down next to him. She always smiled at others- for others. He looked at her back and smiled as well.

"Well hello there healer. My, you look different today," he said in a fragile yet spirited and kind voice.

"Oh?" Amme said looking at him in puzzlement, "how so?"

"Your eyes are much brighter today," he said happily.

Amme looked away and blushed a bit. She had been feeling a lot better since Atem had talked to her last night. "T-Thank you," she said as she started to run down procedure of this man's check up. But she did keep Atem on the mind. She felt bad, for all the years she kept quiet and away from him. She always felt she was protecting him by doing so- now she saw that he really hurt him. She had to thank him later, for always being there and for never giving up. She couldn't thank him enough.

Amia smiled softly, her features were much more relaxed unlike last night. she noticed how much Bakura had changed since their childhood. he was a scrawny little boy but now he was well built hand had a very nice tan. the thought made her cheeks turn a light red. "yes breakfast sounds good, after all it's the most important meal of the day." she turned away quickly, hoping he didn't see her blush "my dream was more sad and and hurtful than anything else. however, it's of no importance now. A dream is a dream... nothing more." she seemed reluctant to go into it. she wasn't ling but rather more afraid to talk about what happened in her dream.

Atem attended to the people giving them what they needed and turned down the things they desired. the people cherished him for his kindness. a guard reported about an attack on a village last night by Bakura. there was evidence of him almost being killed by a mysterious person but they could not say what actually happened. "all we know is that the person he was fighting had as much experience as he did.... but at the last moment they seemed to have spared his life." the guard had told him and this troubled him. 'who would spare a murderer....'

Amia smiled softly "I'll eat just about anything so anything will do." she then thought about his previous question "...my dream wasn't of that day. more like a scenario.. it's weird really because it was the first time I had that dream." she decided she could trust him with it, after all she had no one else to trust "it had you and me in it..." she said gently as her cheeks began to turn a light red. whispers could be heard behind them but Amia ignored them.

Atem was finished for the day and went to see Amme. the guard let him in and he saw her with the old man. "hello Amme. I thought you might be hungry." he said gently and held out a tray of food. he then smiled at the old man "and how are you feeling?" he asked in a kind voice as he sat beside Amme.

Bakura nodded, "Same for her," he told the man as he went to get their food. Bakura raised an eyebrow, it had the two of them in it? Her dream that was. Why was she so upset about him and her being in a dream together? "And?" he said. He sat there with his leg loosely crossed. His arm was laying on the top of the chair and he slotched in his chair. He too heard whispers but couldn't make them out. He glared to his side to see who was doing so. But didn't see who it was- they stopped when he looked. They were obviously behind him though.

Amme heard somebody enter and she turned around to see Atem. She smiled at him as he walked to her to sit down. Another thing she noticed- food. "Oh thank you," she said a bit relieved and happy. It was bread and fruit- something she enjoyed in the morning. She split the bread in half and offered it to Atem. "Aren't you hungry?" she asked. Her tone of voice did not hold defenses. It was pleasent as usual, but whole hearted.

The old man bowed his head a bit and said, "I am doing as well as I can, my Pharoah." He watched as Amme took the food and chuckled, "I offered mine, but she wouldn't take it."

Amme giggled slightly, "I won't take food from those who need it."

Amia looked at him "It's not what you think..... It's hard to explain.." she took a deep breath to recollect herself "in my dream I had told you that i loved you and wanted to be with you but you... you seemed angry and doubtful in my words. it hurt, though it was a dream the pain was real..." she said softly and laid her head down on her arms as she stared at the wall in front of them.

Atem smiled and took the bread "thank you Amme." he said softly as he accepted the bread and ate some. he then looked at the old man "she's right, you need your food." he smiled kindly, t was a warm smile but the one he gave Amme seemed to hold something more, something deeper.

Bakura stared at her as he listened. He couldn't help but feel his heart palpatate quickly when she said she asked him if he loved her in her dream. Did he? He loved her as a friend, of course. Bakura didn't even know what love was- the one she spoke of. In fact, why did she ask it in her dream? Did that mean she, wanted to ask him in real life? He was worried, love was something he could see in the village. Where somebody would hold the other's hand, caress them gently, give them what they needed. Sure, Bakura could give her everything she needed- shelter, food, weapons, anything. But to hold her and give his heart to her? He was the King of Thieves, how could he love somebody? And yet, who better then Amia? He tried to sort his mind, he knew there was nobody else he could care for more then her. The only thing he could think of saying was, "And would you? Would you ask me such a thing?" He could have said it nicer, instead he questioned her blankly- as if trying to solve the reason why she asked instead of finding out if it was from her heart. Bakura then looked up to see two men walk up behind Amia. One was the man from yesterday. It was already morning and he was drunk. The other man was just a foolish follower, a friend perhaps.

"Oi there, I see the King of Thieves at least takes care of his pet," the drunken man said as he brought his face close to the side of Amia's.

"And what a pretty pet at that," the other man said as he touched Amia's hair.

Bakura stood up and slammed his hands on the table. "Do you both have a death sentence?" he growled in the most sinister voice that ever escaped his mouth.

Ammeterasu noticed his smile and smiled to herself as she looked down. She didn't look away in shame, she just felt she was blushing and didn't want to show it. She wasn't though, but she felt that she was. Or would. She looked at the old man and said, "You also need your rest. I'll see you later ok?" She stood up holding the food and looked at Atem. "We can sit over there, there aren't alot of people here today, so we can sit almost anywhere without disturbing anyone," she said. She didn't want to keep the old man awake- he needed to rest. She started to walk to an empty area. After sitting down she looked up at Atem and said, "Do you believe there is a place that instead of sand- there is green like plants that grow on the ground?" There were plants that they grew in the palace- they had a garden, but it was highly tended to so the plants could grow. "I think I saw a god in my dream. Or at least I think he was a god. He was silloutted. As he walked, greenery grew underneath his feet. Behind him was a land of green," she told him part of her dream. She didn't really think it was a god that was the silloutted figure. She thought it was a man.

Amia merely flung her balled up fist back and slammed it straight into his nose. she then stood up and wiped her bloodied hand on her cloak "don't let appearances fool you. I'm neither his pet nor a weak little girl..... next time i suggest you talk to me with more respect before you get yourself killed in the most agonizing way." she hissed darkly as her blue eyes flamed with rage. she then looked at the drunks friend "as for you i suggest you take a seat before you become the second thief that is a woman in this place. she tapped her serrated dagger that was up her sleeve.

Atem followed her and sat down. he then blushed at the thought "well in a way i think it was a figurative expression of how kind and loving the man was. for in the desert there are very few places that support the kind of life that we have in our gardens. maybe your dream was trying to tell you something?" he suggested kindly as he continued to blush.

"Aw Bakura, we're just having some fun with ya," the drunk said to him. "And maybe you'll share with..." he said but could not finish his sentence because Amia had back fisted him in the face. Not only was he shocked that he was hit, but it hurt! The drunken man fell to the ground and cupped his hands over his face. He screamed in his hands. "You broke my nose you..... you b***h!" this man simply did not know how to keep his mouth shut. The other man- the drunk's friend, he quivered in fear. "Who are you?!" he said fearfully. "You.... your crazy!" he added.

Bakura was still angry at the man- but seeing Amia take care of it brought an evil grin to his face. He liked that, the fact she was strong like him- she was sinister like him. He could feel her aura beat like a heated heart beat. Bakura shot a glare at the drunk's friend- his anger still resided from their comments. With a quick step, Bakura was behind the man- holding him from behind, one arm around his neck and the other holding the man's arms behind him. "I don't think I heard an apology from you yet," Bakura hissed. Both he and Amia's anger were not quelled yet. He wasn't sure about her, but he needed some type of retribution. "Go on, say it," he said. He then looked at Amia and said, "Pick up that fool whose face you broke- we have to set an example." He had an evil grin while he spoke to her- though it was not directed at her.

Amme smiled a bit, "I did seem calm when he walked. He brought a feeling of peace." She then looked up at the ceiling for a moment to think. "Before that though, the land was not sand either. It was like shallow water that was only as high as my ankles. I've seen it before though- in my dreams that it. It's a place of quietness and calm atmosphere. It like the place I see when I meditate," she said. Amme always dreamed, they were usually highly visual and abstract dreams. Her mind was potent when she rested. "But what about you? Do you dream? What do you see?" she asked. When she was younger, she thought everyone drempt like she did. When she found out that some people didn't even dream, she was astonished. She woundered if he did or not.

Amia laughed coldly as she picked the man up and wrapped her hand around his throat as she looked at the man Bakura held "I am your darkest and bloodiest nightmare...... remember my name and remember it well for I am Amia the desert dragon." it was mostly thought by many thieves that the desert dragon was a man. her face then turned back to the drunk "I would also watch that tongue of yours. address me wrong again and you'll never speak again." she then smirked at Bakura and her eyes leveled with the man he held "you are right, I am crazy but being crazy beats stupidity any day." she said darkly before her attention was drawn back at the man who she hit.

Atem nodded "yes but not always. Last night i dreamed of...." his cheeks turned pink "... you and me...we were happy and well we... we um... kissed." he said the last word quietly.

PostPosted: Mon Jul 28, 2008 10:05 am

"And stupidity comes with a price," he added to Amia's last sentence. He then called out to everyone, "Listen up! I want to make this as clear as possible. If any of you mistalk, touch, or do anything to harass this woman here," he pointed at Amia and continued, "I will find you and make it your last breath." With that last sentence he slit the man's throat, the one who he held onto. "And if I don't find you first, Amia will certainly take care of herself," he said looking at her- waiting for her to follow him in showing everybody an example of what will happen to them if they do anything to her. "You'll respect her like you respect me," he added. All the men who witnessed shuttered in fear- none of them were strong enough to go up against him or Amia. It was rare that Bakura would kill one of their own in front of everybody- only those who disrepected him. Of course, he would beat them and torture them before death was an option. This time, Bakura skipped to just killing him.

Ammeterasu took notice in his cheeks turning pink. She tilted her head as she listened to him. He dreapt of her? She was a bit flattered that he kept her on his mind. She couldn't hear the last word he said, so she leaned in and said, "We what?" she said in an innocent tone. She really didn't hear what he said- he spoke to low. She hoped it wasn't anything bad. But while she waited for him to say it again, she couldn't stop thinking how cute it was he was blushing.
