~ "Not at all. It's just a delay. It'll probably be here in an hour or so."
Mai said, her tone of voice returning to normal.
"And you should notice stitching on purses! With one kind of stitching, it could be worth less than a pile of dog crap, but with another, it could be worth millions!" Mai retaliated, turning to look at him.

He pointed at the purses and tried to defend himself. "You bought them in an airport! How much do you really think they are worth? Besides the 30 some odd dollars you spent on them!" He shook his head and leaned back in his chair. "Girls and their extra money...I will never understand it!"

~ "I didn't say that these purses were anything special. They're cute.I like them. I wanted them."
Mai explained, in short sentences. She need not to confuse him.
Mai blinked at his last statement, and sighed.
"Actually.. It's not my money. My father.... let me borrow his credit card for this trip." Mai said, lieing. Though, she'd gotten good at this, and it was next to impossible to tell.
"By the way, I'm Mai Love. You?" She asked, changing the tone of the conversation with one question.

Liam looked over at her with through the side of his eyes before before fulling turning his head. At first he ignored the question about his name. "You seemed hesitant about the whole "Borrowing the credit card" thing. But forget it, it's not my business and I could care less." He shrugged it off and then replied. "My name is Liam, not like it matters though, I mean we really will only know each other until this flight gets here and lands. Then we go our separate ways and never see or speak to each other again! Which might be for the better." He smiled at the thought of not having to deal with her or any body else who might be getting this plane ever again. "May I ask why your getting on this plane? I'm assuming it's for a vacation, I mean you are bringing all of this crap."

~ "In truth, it's more like a life-long vacation away from this place." Mai replied.
She looked away, and stared straight in front of herself.
"Yes, it might be for the better. Anyways, why are you getting on this plane, as you so hurriedly asked me?" Mai asked, raising an eyebrow, and settling her vision back on him.

He shook his head. "The reason I am getting on this plane, is of no importance to you." Liam smiled and cocked his head a little to the side. "The only thing you need to know is that things are not good for me here and so I need to leave."

~ "Actually, in reality, I don't need to know anything. As you so blandly put it, we won't see each other after this plane lands."
Even though she said this, Mai's curiousity was getting the better of her.
"So.. are you in debt or involved with something? Perhaps drugs, maybe?"
She asked monotonlessly, raising her eyebrow once more. It was unlike her nature to talk about someone other than herself for this long, but this guy intrigued her, and with Mai's mind, he was basically challenging her to try and find out more.
Mai never backed down from a challenge.
((I must leave, to sleep. It's 3:32AM here, so good night/morning!))

Liam looked at her with a really annoyed look and spoke in an even more annoyed sounding tone. "Look, I told you that it was none of your business, so stay out of it. Just because you told me yours, I don't have to tell you my reason. And you wouldn't want to be mixed up in this!" He turned away from her.
((alrighty, good night! I'm off to bed now too biggrin ))

~ ((Alrighty. Night))
"Hmph. Fine. Just trying to make a little small-talk to pass the time." Mai said, rolling her eyes.
For a women in her 20's, she didn't act like one. Or look like one, for that matter. She was used to acting the way she did, because she was spoilt rotten, even though her parents beat her.
"Wait--, what do you mean, by that I wouldn't want to be mixed up in this?"

Lizzie looked at the nine bags. She wrinkled her nose. "More money than sense." she said, returning to her game.

"Well at least she's found a friend," I said sarcastically, subtly gesturing to the young man she was animatedly talking to. In fact, she looked a little flustered, and he looked... well, cocky. And... I may not have been straight, but it was rare I really take looks into account - especially of the same sex. But the spoiled girl's "new friend" was gorgeous. Straight, but gorgeous. I chuckled to myself and turned back to the card game to make my turn, then going back to observing, all subtleties abandoned.

Lizzie simply didn't care, believing (again) that those people had more money than sense (or taste). She set the cards down, looking at the boy. "You win." she smiled.

Hitomi frowned and sighed. "Maybe... she has a reason for this. I don't know, lottery? family business? Either way, I feel happy for someone who can have a lot of money! I know it would've helped me with this trip..." Hitomi said as she remembered her 2 month job to pay for this flight and the one back. "Oh, by the way guys, did you know that I play the violin?" She asked. Now noticing that she had her violin case in her hand.

I glanced down at the cards and realized Lizzie was right. "How bout that?" I said. "Beginner's luck." I turned to Hitomi. "I'd love to hear you play," I told her. I didn't respond to her first comment because I didn't want to have an argument - especially not about something so trivial.

"What I mean, is stay out of MY business!!" He just glared at her now. Why was she being so persistant? It was annoying him! But he would have to deal with it. Liam never made friends with anybody unless he thought they would be of use to him. This Mai Love girl, had money, and lots of it by the looks of things. So he had to deal with her. It was a good thing he learned how to keep his intentions hidden.
