Niyana had laid out a clean towel as Ruque had started searching for tweezers. When she saw them she nods, "Very good, that is them and yes they are very good for helping take out splinters." She motioned to the towel, "Okay place them on the towel and lets see what we can find next."
She nods, "Okay how about gauze. It is used on burns or deep wound to cushion wrapping."

Ruque smiled widely and nodded. "Tweezers," he repeated again so that he would remember and set the tweezers on the edge of the towel. "Got it. Good for getting things out."
Then he headed back to the bag and stuck his head in once more, repeating Niyana's words to himself to aid him in his search. Suddenly he paused and backed out of the bag, looking up at Niyana curiously.
"Cushion?" he asked, blinking in confusion. "What does that mean?"

Niyana burst into a warm friendly laugh."Cushion means it adds padding and makes things softer." She smiled, at least he had not grown up too quickly. She wondered it her mate had luck on his hunt as she watched her innocent son. She knew he would not like the killing part of getting meat.

Ruque blushed with embarrassment but he smiled up at Niyana. "Okay," he said softly, turning and sticking his head back into the bag. The first thing he found were the pads that he had used to wipe the blood away from his mother's cut, but he already knew what they were called, so he knew that they couldn't be the gauze that she wanted, even if they might work for the same purpose.
"Hmm," he murmured, looking around even more. "Gotta be ... somewhere ..."
He found a roll of something soft and pulled it out. He turned it over in his hands, wondering ... if he unrolled it, what would it do?
"This?" he guessed, holding it up to Niyana. "It's kind of hard when it's rolled up like this, but if I unroll it ..."
He unrolled about a hand's width length of it.
"It's soft." He rubbed it between his fingers and looked up at Niyana anxiously.

Niyana nods and smiled brightly, "Very good, you got it yup, when it is rolled tightly you can't tell how soft it is, but when you unroll it it is really thin and light and soft. It also lets the wound breath so it wont stay wet and fester...which mean get infect and dirty."
She patted his head softly then smiles motioning for him to put the gause on the towel. "Okay lets see what should we do next...um how about...oh this is easy, cleaning pads."

Ruque giggled. "I know that one!" he said brightly, waving his hand as if trying to get her attention. He turned and dove back into the bag, coming up with the pads right away.
"Here they are!" he giggled, setting both the pads and the gauze onto the towel. "What next?"

Niyana nods and claps, "Very good! You have those ones down!" she laughed and smiled, "Okay there should be some willow bark, it is a piece of a tree that is used to help numb pain." She wondered if he would pick the right plant life that was in the pack and she held it open for him so he could get more light to look around.

Ruque grinned and nodded, turning and sticking his head back into the bag. He knew what bark looked like ... but he didn't know how to tell the difference between barks.
He picked up the first piece of bark that he saw and held it up to show Niyana. "Is this one right, Mama?" he asked anxiously.

Niyana smiles, "Yup that is it. There are lots of herbs we use for cooking and healing but willow bark is normally the only bark we use." She sits back, "you are going great would you like a piece of fruit and a quick break?"

Ruque smiled and shook his head. "No thank you, Mama," he said softly. "I will wait for Papa to come home and then we can all eat together! I want to learn more!"
He set the willow bark with the other supplies and dove back into the bag.
"Tell me something else to find!" he requested cheerfully.

Niyana nods, "Alright there should be a needle and some thick thread or horse hair in a pack. It is to close big wounds that wrapping doesn't stop the bleeding."
She kept the bag open for her son and watched him. He was very bright and very kind. He wanted to wait for his father. She hopped Celebor was alright and that he was not taking down something too big.

Ruque grinned and stuck his head back in the bag, rummaging around for the needle and thread. He knew what it would look like, he had seen his mama sewing things before.
Suddenly Celebor appeared at the mouth of the cave, rabbit in hand, but when he saw that Niyana and Ruque were in the middle of something he hung back, wanting to see what was going on as well as how it was going.
"I found it!" Ruque exclaimed excitedly, wriggling backwards out of the bag and holding up the needle and thread triumphantly. "Just like for sewing clothes, for when you have to sew up people so they don't fall apart!"
He giggled and set it on the blanket next to the other things that he had already successfully identified.

Niyana claped softly and smiled, "very good you got that one as well. Lets see we what you should try to find next." she leaned back, "Okay there is a special type of moss that you use to soak up infection but you also use it to keep salves and medicine on or in the wound."
She could feel her mate near by and she tried to figure out where he was.

Celebor smiled, watching the lesson. It seemed as though it was going very well.
He seems quite bright, he thought to his mate, keeping hidden. Let me watch just a bit longer ... I want to watch this.
It was quite possibly one of the sweetest things he had ever seen before.
Ruque giggled. "Moss! I know what moss looks like!" he said enthusiastically - and he dove once more into the bag to look for it.

Niyana smiled, I am glad you are back safe safely she did not turn to him allowing Celebor to watch.
"Oh do you know what it looks like? We will see." She played with her son. She laughed warmly and waited to see if he would find it. "And do not worry the next one will be easy if you can't find this one."
