Yay! A necro thread! *gasp* information that doesn't take ten pages worth of reading. Sorry, but of all the legends of "monsters" and stuff, necromancers are my favorite. 3nodding

maybe because they're too powerful its hard to design an enemy that could match them.. or maybe readers would think that to raise the dead is too much for a story.. maybe a blasphemy.

They are way too powerful for me to try and roleplay them in a vampire rp. Plus, with the way some people roleplay vampires, and other supernatural things, I'm not sure it would work. I could see them having some "amulet" or blood line that allows them to resist to necromancy.
A book series I'm currently re-reading that actually introduced me to necromancy. The first book is called "Sabriel".

I might have to disagree on that point.
One instance in particular, Vampire: The Masquerade to be specific. Within this game there's a clan of Vampires called the Giovanni who specialize in Necromancy.
Sorry if that sounded mean, I didn't mean it to.

You didn't sound mean. Now, please understand, when I say vampire roleplays, I mean vampire roleplays on Gaia, in barton town. Gaia is one of the few places I can roleplay at all. You see, its not that my group of friends are not into roleplaying, it is just that no one can ST/GM/DM/ect. The ones who can, went to college.
