Now that I think about the opening scene and read posts, it's starting to remind me of "Snakedance". O_o
I thought maybe Billie Piper had had something done with her mouth. Maybe she'd had dental work done. It did sound odd. I'm basically glad that bringing her back wasn't as disappointing as I expected it to be. I thought it would be completely awkward, but having rips in worlds could help explain how she could cross over since the sealing of a rip was the reason she couldn't in the first place.
I wonder how the Doctor will react to seeing her again. He didn't seem too happy to hear about her reappearance and what she said.
This is so going to rule!!
And I agree that the plot line with the beetle and all were out-there.

I really liked this episode. This whole series has been amazing.
I love 'what if' scenario's, it's always interesting to find out what life would be like if you did make a different choice, a seemingly unimportant one.
I really love how it's built to the series finale. It's building it up as though it could be the last ever episodes of Doctor Who. And that's what you need for a series finale, the uncertainty that it might be the last one.
But I think I'm in agreement that Donna's going to die. It all leans that way. What Rose said to her, the way River Song reacted upon learning her name. The simple fact that we know that next year, there won't be a whole series, mearly three specials throughout the year, so that suggests the idea that the Doctor doesn't have a companion, but rather has three different ones. I also think that perhaps one of these specials will see the Doctor meet River Song as she knew who he was as David Tennant, so it's before the Doctor's regeneration.
But back to Turn Left, the beetle thing wasn't that overly stretching but the simple idea behind it was a good one. I got chills from the episode, watching all those who the Doctor knew, slowly die one by one. And then, how we'll all get to see them again in the next two episodes. I simply cannot wait :]

I guess I'll pop in and add my two cents to the episode Turn Left.
I may repeat somethings that were said but meh.
At the beginning when I saw that they were in a China Town in space I was kinda expecting a puppet to end up jumping on Donna's back when she was having her fortune told. (Go back and see The Talons of Wang Chang to get my silly reference XD). Also if you go back to your SJA that was the same lot that swapped Sarah Jane with her friend(her name escapes me at the moment) and also tried to remove the Doctor from existence.
I thought how the way the events went very well. Jumping up to Christmas when Donna got her promotion and the blond woman saying "You've got something on your back" gave me a flashback of The Fires of Pompeii when the girl told Donna there was something on her back.(surprised no one else brought this up.) The Doctor dying the way he did seemed very interesting, but I can see him dying because how he felt after losing Rose leaving him cold inside. Sated in the original thread about the episode didn't anyone recognize that UNIT solider? I think that was one of the one's who was under mind control by the Sontarans. Second I thought it was neat how they did the alternative version of Smith and Jones and put the SJA people in there, to just kill them off. The Adipose Industries going to America. Yes, I'm from there and I know there a lot of fat people but not many other nations have the money like America does to just toss it away on diet pills. Titanic landing on Buckingham Palace. Technically it should have destroyed the entire Earth but I'll let that pass for sake of argument. (Go back and watch Voyage of the Damned if you've forgotten). Fourth with the Sontarans invading I thought it was good that they remembered Torchwood and UNIT working together because I was wondering during the actual episode was "Where is Torchwood?!" I was also sad that Gwen and Ianto died but I'm interested that no one brought up what they did to Jack when they sent him back to the Sontaran's home wold?
As for Rose I really liked how they are bringing her back. When I first heard that she was coming back the first thing that came to my mind was "Oh everything is going to hell and a hand-basket." (and I'm not bashing Rose in that statement). I love how she acted. First she sounds different because it has been over a year since we've seen her. Also I loved how she's acquired some of the Doctor's personality. Also for a previous question I noticed about her working for either UNIT or Torchwood she said at the end of Doomsday she was working for Torchwood.
Overall I loved the episode and really enjoyed seeing the preview of the next episode and I'm not shocked that You-Know-Who is coming back. I figured his sect of Daleks would be coming some time but did not know when.
Well here is what I thought and all that I could remember to type.

I remember watching the episode and thinking that something looked weird with Billie's teeth. Maybe it is that. I guess maybe we'll get more of an answer this week. Hope so, anyway. Reason points to Billie just forgetting how Rose sounded in the first place.
Am I the only one that was tickled pink at the Doctor's telling Donna that she's brilliant? I thought it was one of the best parts of the whole season!
Also, I may be extremely rude in saying this, but I think the woman who played the fortune teller looked prettier in the Chantho make-up. Just saying.

First reaction to Rose's return: WHY CAN'T THEY JUST LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE!?!?!
But they did a good job, honestly. I still loved Midnight more, but for other reasons than plot. XD
Rose is more like the Doctor now.. she's taking charge, she never even mentions her name, and she even admits to saying something 'the Doctor would say'. I think Billie Piper did something to her mouth, though.. it sounds like she's wearing a retainer, so she lisps. I thought that she was gonna say her name to the dying Donna, but she says something instead that makes every fan completely flip out. eek
I did like how they showed time as it was changed by the decision to turn the other way. It's very different, obviously. I got upset when they showed the hospital, because I knew Martha was in there. What made me even more upset was that Sarah Jane was in that hospital too. The Sontarans invade, the poison gas is eventually dealt with, but that was Torchwood's doing, and Ianto and Gwen die while Jack's carted up in to space. Donna doesn't know them, but we do, and I, for one was on the edge of my seat going crazy.
I'm very surprised it's taken this long to mention that 'something is on your back' was foreshadowed in Fires of Pompeii, as well as the darkness returning, if I'm not mistaken. I'm also VERY surprised that nobody's mentioned yet that even on this alternate universe, the bees are disappearing. That still hasn't been explained.. maybe they're like the dolphins in H2G2, and have decided to evacuate because the planet is going to be destroyed in some way.
List of things mentioned multiple times so far (whether directly or in reference):
Rose Bad Wolf (the picture on the girl's wall in Forests of the Dead?) 'There is something on your back' 'The darkness is coming' Planets being lost/taken (the spoilery title of the next episode: The Stolen Earth) Disappearance of the bees **Medusa Cascade **Shadow Proclamation (first mentioned in The Christmas Invasion)
And I had a thought, while reading comments on a review. Donna ‘Noble’ another word for ‘Lord’ and the endless reminders that she’s ‘just a Temp’ – which is a contraction for the Latin “Tempus” meaning ‘Time’ Hmmm! The fact that Rose declared Donna to be... the most important woman in all Creation…and the reaction of River Song to Donna...
More later, I gotta go act! (WHY NOW I WANNA FINISH THIS POST)

Ceribri What made me even more upset was that Sarah Jane was in that hospital too. Not only Sarah Jane, but the three kids from SJA, too.

Okay. So I has a theory. Has anyone else noticec how many people have been brought back lately? We have:
Astrid - in VotD Jenny River Song River's crewmembers Everyone who was in the library Donna (in Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead) Donna (in Turn Left)
That's not something they've done much before, really. In the last few series, dead people tended to stay dead. I has some conclusions to draw from this:
1. It's part of the build up to bringing Rose back. Cause she seemed to be gone forever. 2. Someone major is going to die, possibly Donna. 3. It could be connected to the idea of lost planets being brought back.
Anyone with me here?
I would also like to add a fourth conclusion:
4. Adric may come back.
Okay, that'd never happen. But it'd be cool. *scuttles out*

If that's the case, I hope she's the Rani, because Donna as a new incarnation of Romana would just suck... gonk I almost prefer her to be the Key to Time. I would say that these theories are too far-fetched, but then I think about Face of Boe = Jack...

@Riona: yeah, I noticed they mentioned the kids, but I love SJ more. =/
@Hairy: it's only a guess, and I can't remember where I was going with that bit, but.. *shrug* She's certainly going to be Important, especially after these two things: 1) The Doctor said that ordinarily, the thing on her back makes the universe just sort of work itself around her, but she's got alternate universes around her a lot (ie: Library) 2) You would think that Rose saving her father's life would have more of an impact on the universe than Donna simply turning right. (speculation)
I don't think they're bringing back the Rani, though. A friend pointed out to me: Romana - - - > Donna
Either way...what if she just never knew? And not because of something like a pocketwatch, either. rolleyes Like the destruction of Gallifrey really messed with her head and she got amnesia or something.... it's all very farfetched.

Not being very well versed in OldWho, I should probably ask (since we're talking about her).... Whatever happened to Romana, anyway? I think I heard somewhere that she didn't actually die, but got stuck in some sort of pocket dimension? Or something along those lines...
In which case, Romana ----> Donna might actually work. But I'm not sure how I'd feel about that. I like Donna as a normal but awesome human.

In a nut shell she and the orginal K-9 stayed in E space and helped a group of people to help them gathering the race back together.
It might work because of the Chameleon Arch pocket watch and all.

Yeah.. Lucy Saxon was way more like the Rani than anybody else thus far. *REDNAILPOLISH*
And honestly, I have to say I will scream if they do the 'Oh look, a pocketwatch' routine if Donna really is anyone other than herself.

I have limited backstory on both, only from a little of what I've read/heard. Romana = Timelady who travelled with Four, regenerated once at some point just 'cause she was bored with her looks (?) Rani = Timelady, but an evil one, and from what I've heard/read, she was pathetic/boring in all her stories. oO
