i ended up playing the flute because in sixth grade was when i joined band and we got to write down on a slip of paper 3 instruments that we wanted to pay....so i chose trumpet, tuba( i think ), and the flute being the lest likely instrument to play. he grades on a scale of 0 to 5 i got a 4+ on the flute so he was like i want to see where you end up oin the flute. turns out i have more talent than i expected. first chair for two years now and still going for 3 he says im the bes player in class sadly we got a new band teacher crying but hes cool

i wanted to play trumpet sooooo bad when i was starting band, but when i tried to play it for the first time i couldn't make a sound. i think it would have been easier to make a mime talk. anyways after that little fiasco i tried the alto sax and now im first chair in pep, concert, and jazz bands. im so glad i didnt stick with the trumpet because who knows what would have happened... i might have never been first chair in the trumpets (then again our schools trumpets suck)

I played piano when i was 5 because my mom made me and then clarinet in 5-8th grade because 3 other people in my family play clarinet. My band instructor from my old school never realized that I couldnt read music so I asked my new instructor if I could try percussion and he put me on tuba. At first I hated it but now I love it! biggrin

i didn't choose it it chose me! when iwas little and still playing with barbies, i had a plastic flute tht i'd always make her play (now that i look back on that i relize that she was holding it completly worng and that bothers me nowadays ((idk wherei got the mini flute)) ) and when i came to the american girl stage in my life i had a american girl flute. and when our school started offering band classes at the intro thing shetook out a flute and it was so pretty, and it sounded amazing (and now that im much more experienced i relize that it sounded like crap to a fluteiest). i<3 my flute

My first instrument was flute. I chose it because my parents wouldn't let me play violin.
During my freshman year I volunteered to switch to french horn. After a few days my band director decided to put me on euphonium instead. Ever since I've been playing euphonium. It's so much better than flute.

Well...
Alto got a bit boring, so I went to my jazz band teacher and asked if I could switch. All I could do was play bass.
Sexiest instrument ever cool
Then marching band came. So I decided to play the baritone

I started on Bb clarinet by force. I used to claim I hated music, so I didn't care.
Later on, I learned that I loved music, so I wanted to learn another. I chose trombone because it was so different.
(My favorite jazz instrument is Bb Clarinet, though. I find it easier to play swing than straight, so I'll find myself accidentally playing swing on a classical piece once in a while...)
Then I found my love instrument for band and marching band:The Bass Clarinet. I fell in love. Best thing to play, ever. My band needed one more bass clarinetist because they've always had three, and there was one extra Bb clarinet, anyways. I was one of the first asked to switch, and as a complete band geek, I jumped for the chance. Now I'm a loyal low-brasser.

Hello! I chose the clarinet and I heart it! I mainly chose it because when my mom was my age she played the clarient. Plus it looked like it would make a lot of noise.
