Logan knew that Jess wasn’t one that was big on jewelry, nor was she one to stare longingly at anything. He raised an eyebrow. “What’s wrong?”
Jess shook her head. “It’s nothing; it just…reminded me of something.”
He knew that she didn’t want to talk about it anymore so he trained his eyes forward, but in his mind he took note to try and talk about it later. They passed many other similar little shops, all of which Logan pretended to be very interested in. He pointed at things and discussed them with Jess, pausing over intriguing bobbles and random odds and ends. To anyone watching the two really did look like an innocent couple taking a leisurely stroll, but inside Logan’s heart was pumping. When he looked to the left he could see Jasper flirting with a girl selling jeans. Only someone that really knew him could tell that the excitement in his eyes was for something else entirely. Somewhere behind the group Rosen had settled down outside of a coffee shop and had ordered some tea. Her face held no emotion as she browsed through a newspaper she had bought.
None of them looked suspicious; none of them had given themselves away. Everything would go smoothly, safe and sound. Even if they didn’t find anything, everything would be alright.

“She is always asking about her parents, Logan. She wants to know what happened…she wants to know everything. She has nightmares about pale demons sucking her blood and giant wolves carrying her away. What am I supposed to say to her? I can’t very well tell her the truth, now can I?”
“Just tell her everything will be alright.”
“…do you believe that?”
“I already promised her it would be.”

Kira slipped into the crowds of people around her. she was walking in pace with them, and had a long overcoat on, disguising her appearance from anyone who would know that she was part of the Cursed, and too keep away the sun's rays from her longer. she was walking quietly as she passed the shops the rest of the Cursed had just been at. she located Logan, then Jess, and lastly Jasper. those were all she could see at the time. Kira walked over to a cafe across the street, her white hair swaying behind her.

Blade had been pricking his fingers for about fifteen minutes. he had always enjoyed these little bits of pain, because every time he fought someone, he would have them dead before they could even strike. After sheathing his sword, he walked straight into the sunshine. he had to let his eyes adjust first, from the shaded coolness to the warm heat of the sunshine. he smirked, wiping the blood off his hands on his shirt.

Alice finished her book in no time at all. It wasn't very thick, but left her wishing she had the second one.
"Hmm I guess I will be heading to the bookstore early today." She said to herself as she went to her room to get dressed.
Shortly after getting dressed Alice was ready to go, she locked up her small apartment and headed to the bookstore.
The Black Lilly was only two blocks from her apartment, meaning only a 20 minute walk. As Alice approached the door she saw a couple browsing through a window of a shop. She paused for a moment feeling as if she recognized the man for a moment, but dismissed it as she couldn't put a name to the face and proceeded inside the bookstore.

((Sorry it's short. Writer's block.))

Jess turned to Logan and she could feel and see the excitement and tension he held, although it wasn't apparent to those that didn't know him very well. She also had a bad feeling that he was going to ask about the necklace later, since she wasn't the typical girl to be that interested in jewelry. As they continued to look at the shops, Logan pointed out some things that he seemed to be interested in, but she knew that he was just putting on an act. He wouldn't actually buy those, not now at least. She looked up the street more and saw the book store. "Logan, the bookstore is just over there, and they might have the book that I've been looking for...Can we go in, please?" she asked. He smiled, nodded, and said, "Well...alright." They walked into the bookstore together and she walked over to one of the many book shelfs, the place hadn't changed a bit since she had been there last. She picked up one of her old favorites and brought it over to Logan, "Here it is, I found it, and it's only 10 dollars." She began to dig in her pocket for the money for her money that she always kept on hand and looked over to Logan again. He seemed to be in a trance, so she looked in the direction he was looking in and there was a girl.

“8 years…”

He knew her instantly. Her long black hair had since been cut very short and was now streaked with pink. She was taller and had the body of a woman. But that face….it was the same. Curious, contemplative, kind and with a spark behind the eyes. It was her.
“Jess…keep watch….and…” Logan looked at her, unable to finish his sentence. “I’ll be right back.”
He darted off, moving fluidly through the rows of books on shelves that almost brushed the ceiling. The girl had moved into the back corner of the store with a book tucked under her arm. She was hidden from the rest of the store.
She had her back to him. Logan reached out and grabbed her shoulder, making a move to turn her, when suddenly she flung herself around and Logan found a fist crashing into his jaw.
“Stay away from me you creep!”
Logan cradled his jaw and gave her an appraising look. “Not bad. Luke taught you well.”
The girl’s eyes got wide and she stared at Logan like he was something from a nightmare. Logan’s hand stopped rubbing his jaw and fell to his side. He looked hurt.
“Alice…I mean, it’s been 8 years so I figured you wouldn’t recognize me, but…didn't Luke tell you to be expecting me at least?”

“Where are you going Logan?”
“I’m leaving, Luke. Alec is after the both of us. We have a better chance of staying hidden if we split up.”
“Logan, don’t be stupid….there must be another way…”
“No. We must keep Alice safe. Just trust me; I know what I am doing.”
“Oh, and what exactly are you doing? You have been here for three years and we have been fine. What has changed?”
“I’m going to fight the Rouges and I can’t do it when I am so near to the both of you.”
“Logan….it doesn’t have to be like this….”
“Luke, we both know it does. Think about Alice. She is what is important here.”
“She will miss you…”
“She will forget me. Give her time.”
“And what about when she is 21?”
“Come find me. I’ll stay in the city. But you have to move away for a little while. I don’t want to know where you are going, just go.”
“Alright, I’ll let you leave…but the minute she is of age I’m finding your a** and kicking it for being so cautious!”
“Haha, I’ll be waiting old man.”
“Logan…don’t go yet. Aren’t you going to say goodbye to her?”
“A clean break is easier to heal. Besides, I’ll see her in 8 years. This isn’t goodbye forever Luke.”

Alice stared at him for another two minutes, her mouth gaping open. Memories ran through her head like a sick movie in rewind. Then it clicked. It was Logan.
"You a*****e!" Alice shouted as she slammed her fist into his chest. Once again Logan looked confused.
"You left with a note, with out even saying goodbye!! And you didn't even come to Luke's funeral!!!" Alice shouted as she continued to pound on Logan's chest, though her shots were weak with grief; tears spilling down her cheeks.
Logan's complexion looked paler, and his eyes where wide as he stared down at her. He grabbed her wrists gently to cease the hitting.
"Alice what do you mean Luke's funeral?" Even as he spoke he could hear the disbelief in his own voice.
Alice tore her hands from his grip and fell to her knees, sitting on the floor like a broken doll.

"I came home and he was dead...just like my parents..."

Unknown to both Jess and Logan, the small dark, space that they had stepped into to talk about Rosen happened to be exactly where Syvra was sleeping. She didn't move. She was awake, but only barely. She had spent the night out in the city and she was tired, so she'd curled up in a dark place and tried to get to sleep. She'd heard voices, so she pricked her ears up and listened. She wasn't surprised by what she heard. Before she'd met Logan, she'd fed on plenty of people too. She hadn't made mistakes like Jess. She'd made sure she'd drunk everything and then broke their necks so they couldn't come back like she had. Looks like Jess hadn't. Typical, she thought, her tongue running over the fangs inside her mouth. It sounds like she didn't have the heart to make sure they stayed dead instead of coming back from it. But she heard Logan's voice, and she stiffened. He probably didn't know about her hidden feelings for him, how they tortured her, cut her up inside. She never spoke about her feelings to anyone. She was all murderous kick-a**. Jasper with his sarcasm wouldn't come within 5 feet of her if he didn't want a roundhouse kick that broke his nose. She listened for a while more, but nestled down into the dark floor and relaxed. Logan and Jess's murmuring voices soon sent her to sleep after a long night.

((Sorry Rosey! I didn't even know you guys had started! O.O))

A few people’s heads turned at the sound of shouting but neither of the two paid any attention. For a moment Logan’s thoughts were far away, back eight years ago.

“A clean break is easier to heal.”

He dropped down in front of Alice. His hands took hers again despite her struggling.

“This isn’t goodbye forever Luke.”

“Alice,” Logan whispered. “We can’t stay here.” He took a cautious look around to make sure no one had come to check on them and then focused on Alice again, dropping his voice even lower. “Take me to your place. Tell me everything there….please Alice, don’t fight me here.” Logan let go of one of her hands and whipped away the tears from her cheeks. He stood, pulling her dead weight up with him. ”And….I will tell my side of the story too.”

Her thoughts were going wild, she had really been right and her dreams were starting to tell her about things that would be helpful to her, rather than "national disasters" and things of that sort. She wanted to do so many things; leave Logan and Alice alone so they could get everything figured out, tell Jasper and actually get a chance to talk to him, eventually get Logan to help her with the whole Rose thing, among others. But she knew that she at least wouldn't be able to do the first one, not now at least...not everything was safe.

She slowly walked towards them and whispered, "Logan..we cant stay here..it's not safe." She placed the book she was holding aimlessly back into one of the open slots she saw, not remembering where she had gotten it. She then whispered to Logan, quieter now, "You can bring her to where I was living before I came to the warehouse. Nobody knows about it anymore..it's just two blocks from here."

Alice was about to speak when a girl walked over and whispered to Logan.
"No..no I have to go back to my place...to get my cat." As Alice said it she made a face at herself. She sounded like one of those crazy chicks who obsess about their cats. Alice had a feeling that once Logan took her, she wouldn't be returning to her quaint apartment.
"Plus, I can take care of myself." She added. Alice was tired of being 'protected' all the time. It only got the people she cared about hurt.

((Super short post. Not much my character can do really =/...plus I am dead tired *yawn* my brain isn't functioning @_@))

Logan’s face twisted. “A cat? Since when did you like-” He shut his mouth quickly, opened it, and then shut it again. A few seconds of silence went by where all he did was blink. Then, looking as if he couldn’t control himself, he shook his head. “No, absolutely not. We are not going back just for a cat.”
Alice stared at venomously. Her lips were set in a firm line and her hands were perched on her himp defiantly. “Then I’m not going with you.”
“Alice!”
“Logan.”
Logan’s lip curled and he almost growled. “Fine,” he said through clenched teeth. “We will get that disease infested-”
Logan felt a sharp pain in his arm. He looked down to see that Jess had pinched him and was now giving him the “shut-up-and-be-a-man” look. Logan clenched his fists and stood up straighter. His eye just might have developed a twitch. “Lets go…people are starting to get nosey. Alice, you have five minutes at your place to get the animal.”
What a happy reunion.

Kira slipped out of the cafe she had been hiding in, and down the road. she didn't want to be around a fight if she could help it. she walked down back alleys and around crowds looking for things to gossip about. in this town, Kira had heard people ask many times about if she was gothic or not. but every time the question came up, she ignored them. she was good at that. she had done it throughout her childhood.

Blade looked at his hand. the blood was coating his fingers, and sliding down his hand to his elbow. he smirked with delight. the pain was so wonderful, and yet the people he fought, and let suffer, cried, whined and screamed. the question he's always had was why did they? he enjoyed the pain, so why didn't everyone else?
