The phone conversation had last maybe an hour or two and when he looked outside he was shocked to see it was dark and his hostess had not yet arrived home. He hadn't eaten lunch quite yet so he made his way over to the fridge. There were a few things that were on his mind at the present moment, one being the spirit that was following him around the house at the present moment and the other being the cat that was constantly hissing at him.

Every time he turned around the spirit of the father would vanish and his chance was gone. The only conclusion that he came up with was this man was aware of the after life and the dangers that it brought. There was a balance between good and evil on the earth for the most part. He knew that he had a chance of going to a place that wasn't quite enjoyable.

Dawn had opened the door and then closed it quietly behind her. "I'm back." she spoke slowly, putting her coat and keys away. "I'm going to have a bath." she said walking towards the bathroom after grabbing a towel from the laundry room. She closed and locked the door behind her and switched on the taps. Placing the plug in the tube, Dawn then slipped into the hot bath water, to just relax for a while.

She was safe at least, it was the important part to him. He had just begun to enjoy his meal so the interruption was almost annoying. The food was good, better than he remembered it and it brought him back to the times before he became what he was. His anger seemed to rise, producing hatred towards Lav. He hadn't seen him in over a century though so he was safe for the time being. He would find him later, tell him how angry he was, and then kill him. He wasn't strong enough yet.

The spirit reappeared behind him again and he scowled. "You know you're going to kill your daughter if you keep appearing like that. I'm going to have to take you to the spirit realm soon anyways," he said sternly, hoping that the same effect as last time wouldn't occur.

After awhile, Dawn washed her hair and dried it, putting on some pj's which she had brought into the bathroom with her. She let out a relaxed sigh and unlocked the door. Turning the handle she opened it, and brushed her hair walking to her bedroom to find that Grey had been locked up in it yet again. She smiled, picking up the gray kitten and walking into the kitchen. She grabbed the cat food from the ground cabinet and poured some into the bowl, making a dull clicking sound as the food hit the bottom of the bowl. She then put the box away and re-filled Grey's water dish with clean, fresh water. Dawn stroked his head a couple of times before picking up the brush she had left on the counter top, and started to brush her hair. Next, Dawn went into the fridge and grabbed the milk from one of the top shelves. She placed that on the counter, along side the hair brush and grabbed a cup from the top cupboard. The glass was tinted green, with a bubble pattern on it, one of Dawn's father's favourite cups. She poured the milk into it and then returned to milk to it's original spot. Next she grabbed the brush in one hand, and the glass in the other, she walked to the television, and sat down on the old stuffy couch. Tomorrow would be Sunday, and there was rain to be expected, announced the weather woman on the telly. Dawn placed the brush on the table and sipped the milk, while playing with the remote, trying to find a channel that had a good show to watch. Luckily for her, her father had invested in satellite, so she got more English speaking channels then the French ones she didn't completely understand. Deciding on a station, Dawn sat back, legs crossed, cup in hands and watched the show quietly, following along with the storyline. Something had been bugging her, the connection of the two murders, and now the feeling as if she was being watched. She shivered, but didn't say anything to Atticus. He was the guest, and less she would trouble him with, the better.

The spirit had vanished when he'd spoken and he was fully attentive now. He noticed how she shivered slightly and he wondered for a moment why she seemed so distressed. He then recalled the incident he come upon earlier and shook his head slightly.

"Do you mind telling me what's bothering you?" he asked. "You seem a bit tense and if you no longer want me here I can leave. You just say the word.' He was trying to figure out a way to make it easier to get away from her, a way so that it wasn't so suspicious. He didn't have the rest of the year or even the rest of the month, just three days. Three short days.

Dawn looked over at him, she frowned and turned off the television. She waited a few minutes before starting slowly. "The night you came round...I saw...my father murdered..." she looked at the table and shivered. "It was horrible...and lately I've been feeling...strange..." she looked over at him and shook her head. "It's probably nothing, but I feel like I'm being followed, and it's just started lately. Went I felt really cold... it was there, and then as I left the house, it was gone, but on my way back..." she looked him straight in the eye. "I was being followed...and I'm worried now..." she stopped and sighed. "I went to the police station to talk with the head officer of the case, because I noticed something familiar on the news that seemed to connect with that night." Shrugging she looked out the nearest window and sighed again. "And now... even after feeling like I'm being followed, I still feel all alone..." she pulled her knees up to her chest and placed her head on it. She didn't really have anything else to say.

Dawn hadn't caught on, it placed Atticus at an advantage but he was worried that Alysia would find him due to some thought he might have. He was careful then, not thinking of his surroundings but rather the soul he had to transport. His arms were behind his back so she would not see the marks from the blade. His vulnerability was still high from before and when he heard something outside he jumped.

"I understand what it's like to see someone be taken from right in front of your eyes," he said in a serious tone, not changing his expression. "I've been through the same thing before, only with my fiancee."

It had been a horrific moment when he had seen her get slaughtered. He flinched slightly at the memory. He shook his head as if to ward off the memory.

Dawn looked at the ground. "I'm sorry to hear that...it must have been very painful..." She then stood up and walked over to him, giving him a hug. I'm so sorry for you're loss." she gave him a kind smile, and went back to pick put her glass before depositing it in the dish washer. "I'm going to go to bed. I'm going to need some sleep, because I have to study tomorrow-for exams." she waved him goodnight, and took Grey up to her room with her and closed the door. Dawn pulled the covers back and after a few minutes, she was asleep.

Atticus just stayed where he was, he sat down at the kitchen table then, letting his thoughts over take him. He'd hugged her and she barely knew him. It was a strange act indeed and he had to remind himself that times were always changing and it might not be strange for her. He rested his head in the crook of his folded arms and closed his eyes. he was hoping desperately that he would actually sleep some that night and before he knew he'd drifted off to sleep.

It was about midnight when Dawn had come downstairs to get something to drink. She had had a weird dream, not much like a nightmare, but something just kept her up. She noticed that Atticus had fallen asleep at the table. She secretly smiled, and went into the laundry room and grabbed a spare blanket. Dawn tip-toed over to Atticus and placed the blanket around him quietly, making sure not to wake him. She smiled to herself again, grabbing a cup from the cabinet and going up stairs to fill it with tap water. Then, she went back to bed.

When the blanket had been placed on him he moved slightly and wrapped it around his body. He adjusted his position slightly. It was about four hours later that he woke up from a nightmare, confused for the most part. He couldn't breath and it felt like he was drowning in water. When he'd gotten a hold of himself he stood up and started pacing, wondering if he could get the idea out of his mind.

Dawn was fast asleep in her bed with Grey curled up beside her asleep a well. he purred softly nuzzling Dawn and licking her face in his dream. "Come on Grey...quit it out...." Dawn murmured rolling and shifting about the bed. She hadn't woken up by Grey, then again, odd as it was, she felt Grey licking her in her dream, as if he was trying to wake her, or warn her about something. Dawn began to feel really cold again and she subconsciously pulled the blankets around her tighter. The windows began to mist up again, and after a few minutes it had stopped, and Dawn felt warmer again. Shifting and rolling over again, she let out a shallow sigh as she entered a new dream, this one was a horrible nightmare that she couldn't wake up from. Grey had woken from the sudden movements, and knew something was wrong. She licked her nose, trying to wake her, and he even bite it, but there was no response. He began meowing at the top of his lungs, but still no response. Grey hopped off the bed and ran to the door, only to find it locked. He started scratching at it and meowing loudly, trying to get Atticus' attention.

Atticus turned when he'd heard the meow and raced up the stairs. He froze slightly as he looked at the shut door, contemplating on what he could do. He moved forward and attempted to turn the handle. When he found that the door was locked he swore before lifting his hands and muttering something. The scyth appeared in his hands, fully visible to anyone that was present and smashed through the door. He'd have to help fix that sooner or later but for now he needed to make sure she was all right. He made it disappear soon after and he stepped through the shredded door and approach the girl.

"Dawn," he said. "Wake up. You're dreaming."

He placed her hands delicately on her shoulders and shook her lightly, afraid that she wouldn't wake up. His wrists were bleeding again and he swore lightly but continued to shake her though it was gentle.

Dawn's eyes opened slowly, she sat up and rubbed her eyes. "Hm...Atticus?" she asked sleepily. "What's wrong?" she hadn't remembered the dream she was having. Dawn suddenly shivered, feeling cold again. "It's cold..." she murmured. She pulled the blankets tight around her and blinked, a bit confused about how he got into her room.

"Your cat was acting like you were in danger," he said after she'd realized that she had been dreaming. "I'll fix the door by the way." He'd have to wait till she was asleep though to reverse what he'd done to it. He glanced at it and the glanced down at his hands, the bandages seeming unrealistic at the moment because of how shredded they were. He was bleeding again and he swored under hsi breath.

"I'm sorry I have to go fix this," he said. He walked away from her then, stepping through the shredded door once more.
