The 50% Change Quote: Moreau was feeling particurally approiate, it had taken some stings to sneak Hargun out on Halloween night earlier in the day, she may not have realized just how many hours she'd been out. He found it ironic though, and had particurally chosen her because it was Halloween. A bat for Halloween, of course he'd decided to toss in something a little extra to the bat serum.
He always found it amusing that Hargun's form was chosen by Aubrey. It was the part of him that felt a bit of pride every time he saw her get closer and closer to him. He watched the video as the changes progressed with a measure of glee. You awake to a feeling of stretching in your fingers. Almost in a way similar to your dreams. Your body itches as fur begins to grow out of much more of your body. You feel your ears legthen as your ears get even more sensative, but your eyes seem to blur, as it gets a bit harder to see. You screech as the your fingers begin to legthen more painfully along with your arm. When you screech you get almost a picture of the room. That seems to come from your sense of hearing. Though you can still see you defintly lack the clear sense of vision you had previously. You feel your feet legthen as the claws grow out and your feet change. If you try to walk you'll realize that you now walk on your toes, digitigrade. Your head begins to ache as horns push out from on top of your head. The horns grow painfully, of course bats don't have horns. You notice the skin that seems to have grown benith your arms and attach to your claw like.... fingers. Bat like thoughts intrude on yours, as you don't realize that your new eyes are also more sensative to light now. Your left there, realizing that your now even less human than you once were. .

Hargun sat up, wincing and crying. "Oh god.. "
She tried to scratch the fur all over her but only found herself wrapping herself in this new webbing in between her extremely long fingers. At this point she was highly concerned with her head.. this was a new pain to her as compared to the rest of her strething body.
"What the.. hell?!" she shouted as she rubbed her arm across her head, only to find that not only had her ears become huge but there were two spikes emitting from her skull.
She staggered back over to the mirror and hesitated, trying to see but couldnt in the dim light. She rushed over, nearly tripping on her toes to her dim light and turned it on, squinting hard. "Oww.." she murmered then darted back to the mirror and looked in blurry horror to two horns now on her head.
"No.. this.. this isnt right.. ACK!" she squeeled and fell over trying to calm the pain and itching. No use. She kept picking up awkward sounds around the room that seemed to bellow above her wimpering as it did before, but this time at a more different perspective. Her eyes were sealed shut, and her squeeling seemed to be echoing off the walls.. which seemed quite unsual. She limped over to her nightstand without feeling or looking, and stood up wihout banging her head on it.
As if it seemed like no big deal, she grabbed her soctume, and closed her eyes, making a mad dart to the party, unable to think straight the whole way... shed change there, but first.. she needed help. Badly.

Thought Id log something for once x'D I havent been lately, just so yall know.. Ive still been rping dont worry.. just being too lazy to log. Meeting Greer and Ambrose in their 50%'s... and not doing a good job of reactingGreer Cassenwari Greer slipped out of her room at a decent, social hour, trying to get herself to be okay with seeing people again. It was fifty-fifty chance she'd bump into people in the cafeteria, it being a brunchy time but not quite lunch, and if she were lucky there'd only be one or two eating at most. As it was, she nearly sighed with relief when she saw that the village eatery was empty, and so felt confident enough to fill a large bowl with rabbit stew and sit down at a table to eat it. Hargun Aikason Hargun had been out and about near the river and such; exploring a little today. She needed a little bit of fresh air to rid of her homesick feeling she so suddenly obtained when she had been talking to the Dude and Amaya, learning about the Halloween Party incident. She hummed lightly to a song as she made her way back to the village area. When the cafeteria came into veiw, she heard someone else in there eating, and decided to pop in. Company.. she needed some company. However, once stepping inside and spotting Greer, she tripped over one of the chairs, sprawled over on the floor in shock from Greer's appearance. Greer Cassenwari The sound of crashing furniture made her jump, and before Greer knew what was going on she was crouched on top of her table with her feathers fluffed and her talons flexing. Swallowing the hiss in her throat when she scanned the room for the disturbance, she quickly hopped down to the floor and hurried over to Hargun. "Hey are you ok- woah!" She stopped halfway through offering her a hand up, rather shocked by Hargun's changed appearance as well. Hargun Aikason Hargun shakily stood up, having to use the collapsed table to help her up. Amaya told her Greer and Cass were the other two that changed, but she truly wasnt expecting to see it. Wow. Greer was so much different from the day she met her when she had absolutely no changes. If it weren't for her voice and tiny resemblance to Greer, Hargun wouldn't have been able to recognize her. "Yea.. uhm.." she swallowed and nodded quirkishly. "Im.. Im okay Greer... wow." she said, taking a deep breath, and slowly walking towards her feathered friend. Greer Cassenwari "Yes, well, wow to you too." Greer tried to smile encouragingly, gesturing to the table she'd been sitting at. "You okay? Why don't you sit down and I'll get you some water." Bustling over to the food line, she collected said liquid in a glass and went back to the table, offering it to the shaken young woman. Hargun Aikason "Heh.. thanks." She grinned and sat down next to Greer's seat. She nodded and took the glass carefully setting it down on the table with her webbed hands. Although it was hard to pick things up, she found a way to work with her hands to hold things in one position. She took a few slow gulps and set the glass back down and looked at Greer. "Phew. Some way to enter the cafeteria, eh?" she laughed with a somewhat red face. Greer Cassenwari "The most energetic reaction to my appearce yet." She laughed, eating more of her stew to calm her shakily alert nerves. Down feathers, down... "So, how have you been doing? In general, I mean." Greer nodded towards the artist's webbed and distorted hands. "You seem to have changed a bit yourself." Hargun Aikason "Ive actually been doing quite well.. gotten a bit homesick lately though. Im sure itll probably go away soon though." she poked the two black hrons on her head that were unexpected when she changed. "Yea.. changed. And I definately wasnt expecting it on Halloween night. So.. when did you change?" she asked and took another sip of her water. Greer Cassenwari "Halloween? Rough." Greer made a face, shaking her head. "I changed... at the beginning of the month, I think. Dunno. I've been rather spacely lately." She'd been rather avoiding people for more than lately, but no one wanted to hear that. She smiled again, perversely glad she'd bumped into someone she knew, who was as changed as she was. She was a bad person. Ambrose Maurlias The next morning, after taking a well-needed shower and dressing, Ambrose actually braved a trip to the cafeteria by himself, mentally congradulating him for summoning the courage to do so, but secretly hoping not to encounter anyone new. As he poked his head into the large room, his tail tucked as he saw two figures sitting at a table. However, moments later when he realized that it was Greer and Hargun - two of the only people on the Island who had changed about as much as he, he relaxed a bit and whet his lips. After a moment's hesitation, he padded towards their table (not quite ravenous just yet as he had not been up for all that long), his toenails clicking on the tile floor. "G... good morning, Greer... Hargun." Ambrose said quietly with a small nervous smile. Hargun Aikason "Wow.. that was quite some time ago." Hargun looked pretty suprised. "Heh.. its good to be spacey. Im constantly thinking about the stuff going on. I need a good break from this place." she snorted and finished off her drink. I should find something to eat, but I shouldnt eat any bugs in front of Greer... she probably wouldnt take to it very well. she thought and couldnt help but smile at the thought of Greer lunging at her head, pecking her unmercifully. And then Ambrose came in, her smile faded, and she nearly choked on the last trickle of water. "Ambrose?! Oh my god, is that you?" she squeaked and blinked at every clicking step he took. Greer Cassenwari Greer chuckled. "I think we could all use a break from the island. For eighty, ninety years..." Her voice trailed off at Hargun's reaction, and she turned her head slowly towards Ambrose, steeling herself for calm. The last thing the pup needed if he'd changed, which judging from the artist;s reaction he had, was her jumping out of her skin- Woah. It was a lot to take in, but Greer made a friendly smile spread across despite her shock. "Heya pup. How are you?" Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose swallowed, Summoning every ounce of courage to stay fixed to the spot at Hargun's reaction. He should have expected it - just because she had changed already didn't necessarily make it any easier to be confronted with someone who almost looked to be more animal than human. when it happened to you, unless you faced a mirror, you didn't have to look at it. "Y..yeah... it is." Ambrose said meekly. "Just... yesterday." He said in a half-explanation. He matched Greer's forced smile as she turned to him, his ears lowering and his tail giving a couple of slow wags. "Hi Greer. I... well... could be better." He said, almost regretting it as soon as he said it after the Dude's reprimand for the slightest indication of his unhappiness compared to what Greer was going to be facing. "But that seems to be the general state of things here... for all of us" he finished, trying to save. Hargun Aikason Now confirmed it was him, Hargun tried to calm down a bit and turned to a weak smile. "Im sorry bout that Ambrose.. two.. shocks in one day. Soon Im going to need therapy if this keeps up. Not used to seeing everyone changed THIS much yet." she sighed, knowing she may have made things a little moody just from freaking out. Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose shifted nervously from one foot to another. He was obviously making Hargun uncomfortable (at least that's how he intrepreted it). And he wasn't exactly "comfortable" with himself yet even. She, although she had gone through two transformations herself, at least still had her own face. He could easily see how he would be frightening to her - showing her what she could expect to come. Like Hargun, Ambrose had been dwelling too much on their fates. "I'm sorry. I..." He ran a hand through his hair. "I realized I wasn't as hungry as I thought I was just yet. You two take care. I'll... catch up with the two of you later. I need to go check on something real quick." He finished lamely, unable to dredge up a concrete excuse on the Island where time was rarely an issue. He gave the two a final wave and turned, heading back to his duplex. Greer Cassenwari "Ambrose, wait-" Greer raised a hand to stop him, but let it drop as he fled the cafeteria. Poor thing. She knew exactly how he felt. Finishing her stew, she bussed her tray and gave Hargun a sad smile. "Would you mind if I continued my reclusive ways?" Hargun Aikason "Sure go ahead." She sighed. "Ill.. just stay here.. find something to eat then head out." Oh, this was all her fault. Why'd I have to spaz? I need to learn to keep it together. Honestly.. Im such a wimp. she thought, and scavenged around the cafeteria for her 'little friends.'

'Officially' meeting Jamal
The entertainment room was fairly quiet today, being somewhat early. Perhaps that's why Jamal found himself there, lounging casually on one of the couches, eyes glued to the TV as some sort of action movie played; rips of gunfire pierced the silence every once in awhile with an accompany tire squeal. The man had apparently demolished a bag of Doritos, a bag of cheese popcorn, and half a two-liter over the course of the movie, as the remains of his food items were scattered about on the floor in front of him.
Hmm.. Ambrose told me I should go look at some books about bats. Arg.. I dont want some random animal tail popping out of my a** like these horns on my head without me ready for it. Hargun thought to herself as she exited her duplex and headed for the village. Hmm.. no wheres that.. entertainment room..
It didnt take too long for her to find it, hearing the gunshots and awkward sounds comming only from a television. She followed the sound till she came in. Looking around, she spotted Jamal. She didnt want to disturb a man and his movie, exspecially since she didnt even know him, so she walked over towards the book section and began searching through the shelves.
Normally Jamal wouldn't have bothered to break his gaze from the TV, but the movie didn't seem to have his attention like it normally might. Perhaps he was distracted by his thoughts, which were oddly loud and nagging today, or perhaps he was just looking to pass time until the village 'woke' up and more people were about. Whatever the case, he heard the door to the room open and the sounds of someone moving inside, so he glanced up and was met with a potentially horrifying vision of the half bat, half woman 'thing'. Brows flinched and knit together as he tried to ignore her, not really wanting to acknowledge someone that was a later picture of what he'd be later on, yet he couldn't help but to keep glancing up at her in a more or less fullout stare.
Hargun could feel him staring at her. She continued to searchthough until she found a rather thick book. A bit uncofrtable, she turned and skimmed through it, but facing Jamal.
"Hiya." she said, looking up once, then she found a page she was apparently looking for, dog-eared it then leaned back against the book shelf, holding on to the book.
"Im assuming youre new here?" she asked, trying to spark converstaion instead of blank stares at one another.
Jamal tried to cover his blatant staring by trying to avert his eyes back to the TV, but he couldn't stop the sheepish smile that spread over his mouth, realizing he'd been caught.
"Uh...I ain't dat new," he said, smoothing his flustered countenance by offering her his most charming grin as he peered over the arm of the couch, even if it was somewhat forced. "Been herr 'bout a month o' so, I figger. Keep losin' track..."
He sat up slowly as he spoke, arms crossing over his chest without a real reason to do so. "I know I seen you b'fo...at least, I be thinkin' so."
Hargun turned her head a bit. "Hmm.. A month?" Wow.. Im suprised.. Id think hed have changed by now..
"Ive been here over two months.. almost three if Im not mistaken." she shifted over to another shelf of books, rather curious now to see some info on somw of her friends' animals.
"Now that I think of it, you seem familiar to me too. Your voice does.. if nothing else.." she said, and her ear twitched.
"s**t...well, dat'd explain...uh..." He sort of made an up-and-down motion with a hand in her direction while trying not to grimace or look sick. "Why you how you is," Jamal finished lamely as a hand rubbed his chin. He wasn't trying to be insensitive, but it was hard to sympathize when he hadn't yet experienced what a good percentage of the island's population had already.
"Prolly saw ya at dat damn hall'ween party, now dat I be thinkin' 'bout it. Ya were wit'...uh...Amaya?" He squinted at the wall above her head, as though it would help him remember everything properly. However, he decided it'd be better to just admit his poor memory. "I ain't so good at 'memberin' names, so dat's prolly wrong."
Hargun looked down at herself and frowned a bit. "Yea..." she muttered.
"Yea, I was at the Halloween party with Amaya. Maybe I left before we really could 'meet' each other." she said then smiled and took as few steps towards him and held out her webby hand. "Im Hargun." she said. "And you?"
Jamal looked a little better, finding his stab in the dark was probably correct for once. That was enough to make him grin as genuinely possible as Jamal could ever manage and, even though he was somewhat apprehensive about it, took the offered hand and shook it long enough to not to appear too offset by her 'modifications'; actually, the wingy membrane between her fingers did manage to catch his curiousity. "Da name's Jamal," he responded. "Sorry I didn't run ova ta get da name thing outta da way at da party...distracted 'n all dat. I was wearin' da bedsheet. Ghost, ya know."
Hargun laughed.
"And the best costume idea there." she sighed, glad that he wasnt going to completely freak out about the wing thing and run off. "Nah its okay. I wasnt doing so well at the party anyways. I had changed again just that night so it was rather disturbing for me."
She looked around and found a seperate chair facing towards the TV. "So what the heck are you watching?" she asked, opening her book with her pointy finger to the page she dog eared.
"I ain't got no otha ideas at the time, so...figgered a ghost be nice and easy," he said with a shrug, leaning back into the soft cushion of the couch now, watching Hargun part the pages of the book with her extended digit.
"The Italian Job, I think," he said after a pause, glancing at the TV, showing a chase scene of some sort. "It be a'ight...only watchin' it cause there ain't nuthin' else ta do. Tryin' ta distract mahself from s**t goin' on herr. Wond'rin I start this change bullshit. Mostly a sit n' wait game though, ain't it?"
He was sure if if it required the doc's having to come in and give him another shot that he'd be able to fight them off. They weren't going to get him so easily.
"Heh.. never seen it." she said, shooting a quick look at the tv then reading through the page, having to squint several times.
"Its hard to dstract yourself once you start changing though, I have to admit to you. Youve got to enjoy being 'normal' while you can, then everything seems to go downhill." she looked at him then smiled weakly. "Sorry.. I sound so negative."
Back to the book. "Thats exactly what it is. But not a single person yet has changed, knowing exactly when to expect it. Its become obvious now that they do it to us in our sleep."
The TV was pretty much forgotten as the topic inevitably changed to what he figured it was, and oddly enough he was somewhat relieved. Maybe he could get some information about what was going to happen to him...maybe so he could prepare. Afterall, he'd been stoutly ignoring the fact this was going to happen until the run-in at the cafeteria and since then he'd kept his company limited to 'normal' islanders as much as possible. Plus it seemed that Hargun didn't mind the topic so much, at least to what he saw.
"Well, changin' to a damn animal ain't really gonna be a good experience no matta how ya look at it, unless ya had a bad bad life," he said in a grudging manner, rubbing the sparce moustache above his lip with a pensive look in his eye. Or you did something that'd probably prevent you from living a normal life anyway...
"I figgered dat them bastards get ya'll in ya sleep...dat's what I worry 'bout. Gotta be some way to keep 'em away at night, unless somethin' else ain't gonna let us stay up at night." He vaguely wondered if perhaps he and Awen should just take turns staying up at night...perhaps that'd do some good against preventing them from coming. Maybe...
He looked at Hargun's fuzzy form with a morbid sort of curiousity and found himself speaking before he really thought about what was coming from his mouth. "How bad does it hurt?" he queried in reference to the change, but perhaps she didn't catch what he was talking about.
"I guess if you put it that way, yea. But I had a perfect life before this so.. its pretty bad period." she laughed uneasily.
"Theyve got cameras in the rooms, just incase you didnt know.. or at least thats what we all figure. Nobody really doubts that." she shuddered remembering when she and Amaya really thought about it. Perverted Moreau..
She blinked at his question, suprised he asked. But she wasnt even bothered by it. In fact, she was kinda glad he asked. "Well.. uh.." she started.. it was hard to decide where to begin. "It only really hurt after the night I changed and for a few days. My fingers were sore for a while and sometimes if I try picking something up and move them the wrong way it hurts. But I have to say, these hurt the worst." she said and looked up, signalling to the horns.
She laughed. "I dont even KNOW where those came from..."
"Yeah, I figger there be some cameras...ev'rythin' else got 'em, why the duplexes be any diff'rent." His lips pursed some at the thought of privacy invasion and for other reasons that he didn't care to elaborate on, at least right now. "I dunno...gonna work sumthin' out. Tryin' mah damnest ta avoid this bullshit if I can."
His gaze drifted to her webbed fingers, finding them almost too delicate to really be able to do any sort of normal hand manipulation, but obviously she was doing alright with them. Probably adapted...like she had any choice. "So...stuff just kinna pops out then? O' be it slow? I ain't a fan of slow pain, but if I at leas' know it comin', I be a'ight."
The indication of the horns made him blanch a touch. Hargun looked like a bat...and no bat that he knew of had horns. Did the doctors screw up serums sometimes? He didn't want to end up looking like a mix of animals!
Hargun nodded. "Good luck." she said, trying to sound as supporting as she could. As much as she didnt want to see his hopes die, he was dommed here for sure, and there wasnt a chance of avoiding the second change, or at least any side effects by just being injected once.
"My hands grow only with each change Ive noticed, but the mental stuff such as food cravings and hieghtened senses seem to change and grow every day. And so will your sleeping patterns if you become a nocturnal animal... although I still like to come out at day time a lot."
Jamal spread his own hands, envisioning webbing like Hargun's between them, then found it to be stupid to do so. There was nothing at all that gave him a hint he'd be a bat.
"I ain't got no idea what I'm 'sposed ta be yet. Chubbs said I could ask...but I ain't sure I wanna know." He grimaced and jammed his hands in his pockets.
Hargun sighed. "Most of us arent sure what we're turning into.. even when we've had our first changes. Plus I wouldnt want to ask the staff.. itd make them feel overly proud of themselves, not to mention probably lie about what your changing to."
She scratched the back of her head and asked while glancing at some pictures in the book. "Do YOU know if bats have tails or not?"
"Them bastards would lie, wouldn't they," he practically growled, clenching his fists briefly. "Well, whatever. I ain't gonna get any contact with them unless I gotta."
He then peered over at the book, wondering what she was doing. "Bats?...I think they got a tail..but like...it got membrane on the sides so it kinda look like anotha' wing. O' maybe dat's jus' the kind I seen."
Hargun winced. "Gah.. its gonna hurt like hell I bet.. Probably wont even be fluffy or anything either.. just an ugly stick out my butt like some rudder.." she laughed at what she said though.
I make such... interesting comparisons..
She turned the book to show him a picture of a bat skeleton with transparent lines to show where the wings would go.
"I ain't thinkin' bat tails are fluffy...I founda bat once, lyin' on the sidewalk on ma way home. I don't think it gotta fluffy tail, but it was years ago."
He peered at the skeleton, somewhat interested the the bones in the arms and hands were so similar to that of a human. It was almost eerie. A bat skeleton was weird otherwise...they hardly had legs, and that made him wonder just how much like animals everyone would end up turning into. Was there the potential of losing legs? He'd never met Cassidy, so had no idea.
Hargun chuckled softly. "A dead bat? Heh. Odd, Ive never really seen a DEAD bat but I saw them a lot when we'd go on trips and see caves in various states."
She pulled the book back and flipped to the next page. "I wonder if these horns belong to a specific species of another animal.. after concluding that obviously they dont belong to a bat, surely theres something else that has em. Maybe some sort of deer-like animal?"
She slowly walked back over to the shelves and flipped through the titles.
"Yeah...it was about this big," he said, spreading his hands apart maybe 3 to 4 inches apart, growing a little nostalgic over the thought of the city. "Lil' guy really. Prolly ran into onna da buildin's or sumthin'...ain't dat unusual, I think."
The mention of the horns brought his attention back to the present relatively quickly. Ah yes...this was his new reality.
"Looks like some deer thing I seen in a zoo once," offered the black man, slithering up from the couch to wander over to join her at the book case. He gazed at the bindings of each book, his eyes darting over each as though he were rapidly reading each title...yet honestly, he couldn't understand a good 75% of the words before him.
Hargun laughed at the bat. "So Im going to change into a blind, flying dimwit?"
She snorted. "Aaaand Ill be a zoo animal. Yep great. But then again a zoo is probably better than this place.. in a cosmic.. sort of way."
Moreau probably intends sticking us IN a zoo when hes finished.. otherwise what other use does he have for us? she thought.
"Maybe its bull horns? Theyre dark in color and I havent seen any sort of deer horns this color.." she suggested.
Jamal shrugged, offering Hargun a small grin as he did so. It was somewhat fascinating to him that she hardly seemed bothered by this changing business. "Could be worse?..." he mumbled uneasily. A bat hardly seemed like that bad of an animal really...better than a mouse or a bug or a toad anyway.
He let his fingertips run across the spines of a few larger books before drawing one out that read "Endangered Species in North America" and idly parted the book about mid-way through. Large colorful photos of large raptors glossed over the page, which he examined with a somewhat dejected look on his face.
"...I ain't thinkin' I can do this animal s**t."
Hargun glanced at him.
"Could be yea.. the only downside Ive bumped into so far is not being able to use my hands for things as much. Other than that though..." she paused and turned her head.
"Hmm? Oh.. yea.. I didnt think so either after realizing what was happening to us. It was probably the most scariest part of being here.. and then I changed and everything seemed to become a little less frightening. Then I changed again. Now the scariest part is the Moreau factor actually.. not so much the animal part." she pulled out a book specifically about horned animals and skimmed the pages.
It was true.. she wasnt AS scared of the animal changing but Moreau and his undescribable power over them. Jamal flipped a few pages in his book, giving the picture of a gila monster a morose glance before he snapped it shut and put the book back in it's assigned slot.
"Makes sense, I guess. I jus' ain't talked to many...changed peeps, I guess. Too busy makin' up what gonna happen in my head so it's prolly all outta wack by da time I actually start this animal bullshit." He eyed the books again, this time pulling out a thinner one labled "Marsupials", which he couldn't understand, but opened anyway.
It didn't make sense, at least yet, for Jamal to be afraid of Moreau. The black man didn't really fear anyone. Doctor Moreau was just human...he could be taken out if the circumstances were right. Jamal was afraid of the unknown.
Hargun spotted a page with some very strange and exotic antelope-looking things, making a disgusted look as some of their horns looked really wierd or mutated.
"At least youre trying to substitue whats really going on. Thats probably a good idea while you wait for your changes, then just keep the story going."
She glanced at the book he was opening up, then squinted, imagining him turning into some sort of tree-eating Koala. An.. interesting sight indeed. Jamal crossed glanced, looking at her book and then glancing at her horns. "Jesus Christ, I hope you ain't gettin' them things," he said, pointing at a picture of a Greater Kudu. The horns were massive...and the sight of those things perching on top of Hargun's head almost made him laugh, but he stopped, finding a situation like that not impossible. Hell, surely the Doctors were out to make everyone miserable through this transforming nonsense.
"Anyone else gettin' weird s**t like horns when they ain't 'sposta?" He wondered if this phenomenon was common, but couldn't remember seeing Ambrose with anything non-wolf like or human-like at their last meeting.
Hargun shook her head. "Actually, I and this one girl, Cass are the only ones I know of getting.. 'different' creature parts put on us but, I havent gotten to see what hers looks like. Only heard shes sprouting feathers and is turning into like.. a snake or reptile."
"Ewwh.. I hope Im not either.." she pursed her lip and held the book away from her, examining it then turning the page to some sort of bulls with not atrociously large horns, but still rather cool looking.
"...feathers and scales. Okay, dat's ******** up," he said bluntly with a shake of his head, shutting his book and replacing it in it's groove, then leaned back against the shelf, content to look over her shoulder at the pictures in Hargun's hands. "Bulls ain't too bad. I ain't never seen a real one, but...they be lookin' like they could cause some damage. 'Long as I ain't turnin' into a mouse or a rabbit or sumthin' like dat...it'll work out a'ight eventually. Peeps say yous pick up da animal's feelin's or whatever...Be damned if I be turnin' into some pansy a**. "
Probably stupid reasoning, but Jamal was certain he'd never be taken seriously again in his life if he turned into a rabbit or something cute and cuddly and that bothered him a great deal.
"Ha.. next time I change I bet these will be so sharp I could maime Moreau and the rest of the horrid staff.." she said, a firey determination in her eyes.
She shook her head grinning. No need for such violent thoughts.. yet. You cant really hurt anyone with the stubs you got now. "Well, we have been changing in sleeping patterns and food cravings.. I mean I eat bugs all the time now for christs sake. I guess it depends on how the animal thinks. If its violent, youll probably turn more violent. But I somehow doubt if you turn into a rabbit or mouse that youll become gentle.. probably just more smart." she shrugged.
He smirked at Hargun's blurt aout maiming people, mentally chiming in with a "right beside ya" before making a very disgusted face at the mention of eating bugs. How nasty!
"Aw hell naw, I ain't eatin' no ********' bugs," he nearly spat, a shudder running across his back. "Uh uh. No way. I don't care if dat be da only thing they eat...ugh..."
Hargun laughed and placed the book back on the shelf, then immediately went searching for books on insects while continuing on to disgust him. "Oh, but theyre so good! All crunchy and squirming about in your mouth.."
She flipped through it as quick as she could and threw a picture of a decaying bug at his face.
"See? Now doesnt THAT look appetizing?"
"Ugh ugh ugh...dat's SO not cool," he said, giving her mock-scathing glare, pushing the book away from his face with a hand. Seriously...how nasty. The thought of a midnight bug snack made his stomach lurch unpleasantly.
"How can yous EAT dat s**t. I thought mah auntie's cookin' was bad, but damn. I ratha' eat her cookin' than nasty-a** cockroaches."
She pulled the book away and set it back in the shelf.
"Ill have you know they really are good! And those chocolate covered ants the cafeteria provides.. theyre like Raisinets!" she said and walked over to a seperate shelf not filled with animal books but cooking recipes, and flipped through one of south american delicacies.
"Well whatever, Im sure youll eventually have to eat SOMETHING you dont like, and believe me, you wont think of it as very nasty after a while."
"Anything gotta be betta' then bugs," he said with a final empatic nod, giving Hargun a 'yeah right' sort of expression. He didn't follow her, just in case she wiped out another picture of six eyed bugs or spiders the size of basketballs. "As long as a brotha gets ta eat some meat, dat'll be a'ight wit' me." He couldn't imagine not eating some form of meat for the rest of his life...he was practically raised on hamburger helper and hotdogs when he was younger. Being a strict-plant eater wasn't even an option, in his mind.
He watched her suspiciously from his perch against the wall, trying to see what she was looking for without having to get closer.
"Chances are youll probably turn into a leaf-eating cow or some.. plant.. or a bug.." she couldnt help but snicker at that one.
"Knowing the staff theyve probably got something ironic picked out for you, I hate to say." she frowned and continued to strum the book blankly, staring at a page or two rather curiously.
"Oh.. I forgot about them serving candy-coated cockroaches... oh and shrimp too. Surely youre not bothered by eating shrimp though right? Maybe youll be some sort of marine animal.."
"So I be hearin'. The staff likes ta ******** 'round wit' us all. I almost wouldn't be surprised ta be some sorta plant-eatin', bug-snackin' freak. Bastards." His eyes narrowed and he thumped the shelf with a fist. More and more people were confirming his fears...that the Doctors were just using them as puppets to make dance whenever they wanted.
"I could handle shrimp...da s**t be good, but just 'spensive, otha'wise I be eatin' it mo' often back home." He looked off towards the ceiling at the thought of being some sort of water-based animal. Awen said that she had a suspicion that's what she was turning into...could being a dolphin or a whale be that bad?
"I couldnt agree more with yah.." she mentioned to the comment.
"And to believe I almost saw good intentions behind them.. that girl Lauren almost convinced me the staff were 'good'." she snorted and looked up from the book.
"If anyone can think that Moreau has any decency, they must be ********. I swear." His eyes narrowed dangerously at the mention of Lauren. That little b***h...
"Lauren's outta her ********' mind," he said bitterly, jamming his hands into his pockets to hide the fists he'd formed at the memory of the small, fiery tempered blonde. "Lil girl ain't got no ********' clue what be goin' on. She jumped all ova' me last time I seen 'er. Thinks she be tough s**t."
"Ain't nothin' these doctors be doin' that be good fer anyone but themselves. They ain't out ta help no one unless, like I said, their lives sucked mo' then than they do now."
Hargun took the hint Jamal definately wasnt fond of Lauren, and was laughing at the back of her mind.
"Not sure if I should be saying this, but her life DID suck before now. Shes one of the few here who are better off here than before. But unfortunately as I said, I had a good life. I really shouldnt be here." she sighed and put the book up.
"But, at least we're all crammed here together.. not stranded on seperate islands with no one but a Moreau clone to torture us all friggin day long."
"Well, dat might be true dat her life be bad back home, but I ain't takin' s**t from anyone...I ain't carin' so much as to how peeps were gettin' along b'fo they ended up herr." He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, trying to remain somewhat calm just to prevent himself from making more enemies right now.
"But yeah, at least we gots peeps ta deal wit' this togetha'. I ain't a fan of goin' batshit crazy all by maself."
The black man sighed, feeling somewhat downtrodden again all of a sudden. It seemed like things would never get any better here.
Hargun nodded, understanding why he wasnt sounding any bit sympathetic.
"Yea. I cant imagine what it would be like without having the others around here. Whether or not we like some of them, we almost literally NEED them and theri support. Try to make the most friends we can, stick together like a family, and this will just seem like a silly nitemare." she coughed. "But still.. regardless of that, we wont be able to ignore us changing."
She figured it was comming time when she needed to head back to her duplex and just reflect.. getting her information she needed, and meeting someone quite interesting.
"Fair enough," he admitted, though privately he refused to just get over Lauren and her outburst. He didn't like her, pointblank.
However, he was also thinking was probably best to head back to the duplex...maybe visit Awen on the way and let her know about some of the stuff he found out.
"Well, I figger I best be walkin' back home pretty soon. Been herr awhile...gotta stop by Awen's place b'fo it gets too late."
Hargun frowned a bit at Awens name. It wasnt like she hated her, but ever since that argument shed been trying to get an apology to her.
"Okay. I should head back too." she said and started heading for the door first. But first she turned to him and furrowed her brows. "Hey, can you do me a favor? If you see her, tell her I said 'Im sorry.'" she said, and pushed the door open, heading on out.

Hargun sat on her bed, her knees wrapped by her webbed hands. It was relaxing moments like these that made her wonder how the hell she could be so calm, while everyday, fear, anxiety, and depression just from being on the island seemed to fill her mind. It was like when she used to draw in her sketchbook. That always calmed her down, but now.. just sitting there, in a quiet state as night rolled in.. it felt the same.
She took in a deep breath and exhaled, looking out the window as everything seemed to darken. She began to think about a while back when she thought about exchanging drawing for flying.
"Hhmm.." she sighed thoughtfully, and sat up, scooting off the bed and walking towards the door. She opened it and looked outside to see if anyone was around, then climbed up on the upstairs railing and clung to the top of the railing with her toes, scanning the sky and ground. She took in another breath and sat quiet for a while, simply listening to the insects and creatures rustling about, everyonce in a while turning her head to listen in another direction.
She felt a bit silly there, just kneeling on the rail with her toes as her only support. And she felt even a bit more silly after considering leaning fowards and letting her body drop to where she would hang upsidedown. But she decided not to do it. Shed end up falling most likely.
It sure was comforting though, just being out in the fresh air, not another islander in sight at least, and no industrious sounds as insects chirped away.

Greer, Amaya, and Harg, the three.. demons... o.o;Stewart_Young Once again Stewart was out exploring the village, he didn't dare venture out into the jungle again without Colche. But it was a nice day, so he didn't have much to complain about. He hadn't seen any demons lately either, mabye it had only been his imagination. It must of been, it was very late and he had been very tired. That "demon" was probably just a very harry islander, or some strange jungle creature that had wandered into the village. Liking this new idea Stewart hummed a random tune while enjoying the island. Hargun Aikason Hargun had found herself having fallen asleep outside her duplex where she had been relaxing the night before. Or.. was it that morning? Whatever. It was dark. Nomatter. She got up and stretched, yawning then went inside to change, comming back out with her pair of sunglasses on, her tummy rumbling. "Ack.. should go get something to eat.." she muttered, and headed out of the duplex area. It hadnt been very long when her ears picked up the sound of a man humming. Rather curious as to who could be so merry right now, she fallowed it until she was a few yards behind teh Father. Wait.. isnt that the guy who freaked out.. earlier? she thought, and quickly tried to hide behind some bushes before being spotted. Amaya Vaughan Ah, laundrey day. One of the most boring days in all of MAHKIND. Amaya sat ontop of the washer while her clothes spun around inside it. Today she was looking particularly gothy, wearing her torn off black tank with the fishnets from the Halloween party along with the thick black belt and torn black pants. Afterall, it was dirty but it was the least dirty thing she had. As the washer shook under her she read through her 7th JTHM comic.
Hearing someone humming outside, she looked up from her reading material and leaned to try and see outside the door without moving. Grumbling, she scooted farther to the side to see and leaned farther.
And farther.
And fa-OHSHIT!
Amaya tumbled off the washer, limbs flailing as she toppled out of the laundrey room and landing halfway out the doorway, seeing stars. Greer Cassenwari Having returned to her room two days ago to a whole mirror and hungry pets, Greer had decided to act her age, suck it up, and go out into the village in daylight. If little Amaya could take all this so well, she could at the very least live up to the maturity level her 'adopted' daughter thought she had. Walking down towards the cafeteria, she managed to turn the corner just as said lizard girl crashed out of the doorway to the laundry room. "Amaya! Sweetie! Are you okay?" Greer ran to her friend's side, not noticing anyone else. Stewart_Young Stewart thought he heard something moving around in the bushes behind him, but after not seeing anything. He blamed the sound on his nerves. He was about to continue on with his nice walk when he heard, and saw, some poor girl come crashing out of the doorway. He was about to go after her when he saw another go help her... Something was very wrong here. Both of the women did not look exactly human. Did he not imagine the demon the first time, and there was more than one? Still in shock he just stood there staring at the scene adhead of him. Hargun Aikason Hargun had heard Amaya and Greer making a bit of noise up ahead. She wanted to jump out and shout to them, but instead crept out from the bushes and followed after Father. She looked at Greer and Amaya and sheepishly waved a hand then made several gestures to the figure in fron of her, trying her hardest to point out he was new, and exceptionally not easy towards her changes. Instead she looked like some babbling goose, trying to spread its wings and scare a little kid on the side of a lake. Amaya Vaughan "I... leaned too far." Amaya rubbed the back of her head with a large hand and winced. She was dazed, but alright. "But yeah, I'm good." She gave a smirk and reached for her fallen comic to make sure it was alright, obviously in a much, much better mood then she had been ever since her second change.
As she stood, she noticed the preist staring and froze while brushing her comic off to stare back at him... then at Hargun, who looked like she was trying to mimmick a swan having a seizure. Raising a brow, she stood up straight but didn't say anything which... probably didn't help since her new feet looked rather dangerous and added a whole 4 inches to her height. Greer Cassenwari Greer tsked, eyeing Amaya for wounds and taking in her outfit. "I'd ask you if you hurt your head, but it seems you did that before getting dressed this morining. Or you got attacked by a masked scissor-wielding bandit." Crossing her arms under her chest, she fluffed her wing feathers and turned to follow the girl's gaze. Random priest, Hargun jumping around like she was being electrocuted- Eeep! Greer had been raised vaguely Catholic, and so had some fuzzy, murky memories of men in a lot of black from when she was very little. How the hell had they gotten a priest here?! Stewart_Young After looking around he finally noticed the demon from first time. She seemed to be using some sort of strange sign lanuage to communicate with the other two. But the odd bird one and lizard girl were speaking english. He would not freak out this time. No he would not show fear in the face of the enemy. He quickly crossed himself and said "Why are you demons here? Are thee slaves of Lucifer, or have you wandered out of hell? What it is you seek here on the island? Human blood? Souls?" Yes, he would stand strong in front of the enemy this time, even if he felt like shatting his pants on the inside. "Yeah and he w-Hey!" Amaya retorted, being in too much of a good mood to really stare at the preist very long. "I'll have you know it's laundrey day so..." She looked up at Greer and stuck out her large, pink tongue.
Then upon hearing the preist she almost facefaulted and turned back to look at him. "Uhhh... yeah, what?" She raised a brow and stared at him like he was the demon while listening to Hargun, completely lost and looking between him, Hargun, and Greer.Amaya Vaughan "Yeah and he w-Hey!" Amaya retorted, being in too much of a good mood to really stare at the preist very long. "I'll have you know it's laundrey day so..." She looked up at Greer and stuck out her large, pink tongue.
Then upon hearing the preist she almost facefaulted and turned back to look at him. "Uhhh... yeah, what?" She raised a brow and stared at him like he was the demon while listening to Hargun, completely lost and looking between him, Hargun, and Greer. Greer Cassenwari Greer chuckled at Amaya's response to her teasing. "Be that as it may, even on laundry day I don't wear fishnets. Just as well: you pull them off better than I could have-" Demons? The hawk woman's mouth fell open at the priest's assertion, the shock staving off the urge to laugh. Blinking, she spoke, letting her confused mind wander. "We're not demons... heck, I can still say the Lord's Prayer and probably a Hail Mary if you pushed me. I'm not sure though, since I haven't been inside a church since my confirmation." Stewart_Young He paused for a moment looking once again at all three of the women. The hawk, she could stand to speak the lord's name... How? We was becoming even more confused, and even a bit more scared. "A-Are you saying that it is true what the girl told me about the shots changing us? No tool of man could cause such changes. Obvisouly Satan is on this island, you all have fallen for his trap. May God save your souls" He said shaking his head, even though the truth had been explained to him, we was not leaving his little reality he had created. Hargun Aikason Hargun raised eyebrow again, yet even higher. "Whatever she said, if it had anything to do with a b*****d named Moreau, an injection, and us mutating into animals, then yes, its true." she grumbled, starting to get a bit tired of Moreau's name, and this man's impudence. "Satan equals Moreau if you want us to put it that way, but again.. we're not demons.." she explained, trying to come up with a way to proove it. She wasnt in teh least bit religious and it would be hard for her to think of something that would defy what he believed. Amaya Vaughan Amaya slumped while watching the preist and Hargun try to explain it to him.
"She's right, and everyone on this island that's gotten a shot when they arrived is sealed into the same fate. And were not demons." Her brow furrowed and she looked around, wondering how to prove that they weren't. She wasn't one bit religious, really so she didn't know HOW someone could believe that much but... "Oh!" Reaching under her fishnet shirt, she pulled up her silver locket and slowly approached the black-clad man. "See? This was me when I was younger." Clicking it open with a claw, she let it dangle from the chain off two of her long fingers. She would let him see it while holding her hand out to him, not wanting to scare him off if she got too close.
Inside the locket was a picture of a couple on one side and a elderly woman with a rather young Amaya on the other. Greer Cassenwari At his insistance about demons, Greer wondered idly if he'd seen or heard about her blow up. She definitely would have pegged herself as a demon after that little show... "I'm a scientist, and while I would never have thought science could go this far, I'm afraid it is possible. Although if you'd like to have us gave on some holy objects or get doused with some holy water to prove the whole not demon thing, go for it. But you know, just to be sure: Hail Mary, Full of Grace, The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of death. Amen." She was suprised she still remembered that. Stewart_Young Stewart could lie to himself no longer, everything Moreau had told him was a lie. Would he change into some horrible beast too? She had just recited the Lord's Prayer, no demon or posessed person was able to do that! They had just destoryed any hope he had left in his fantasy world. But he would pove this first, an exorcism mabye? Yes, that was the only way to prove what was really going on here. If it was successful, then we would have his work cut out for him... But if nothing was there, would he have to trust in science? He said something along the lines of "I need to go think this over" and started walking towards his house. Later he would get his exorcism equiptment together. But now he really needed get his thoughts together. Hargun Aikason Hargun hadnt a clue what some of what Greer was saying but nodded along to it anyways. She looked rather suprised at Stewart before he left and scratched the top of her head. "Oookay then. I guess youve guys got him convinved?" she asked, feeling kinda weak not being able to think of anything quick enough. In fact she mightve made things worse if she tried something. Amaya Vaughan Amaya sighed and watched him go, flipping her locket up into her palm and shutting it before carefully putting it back over her neck. "Heck if I know." She shrugged and looked back at Greer before going back into the laudrey room.
"Whys he think were demons? He's a preist or something, right? I mean... I can kinda understand it, but..." The iguana huffed, leaving it at that while opening the washer and moving her wet clothing to the dryer. "Poor guy. Why would he bring a friggin' priest here?" Greer Cassenwari Greer watched him go sadly, mentally berating herself for chasing another person of. She needed to stop doing that! "Heck if I know, but I could see where he'd rather see us as demons than think he was going to turn into an animal. We all have our own delusions our brains use to protect us." Sighing, the hawk woman ruffled Amya's hair affectionately and then turned to go. "I need food and lots of time outdoors to keep the hawk happy. I'll probably be sketching at the cliffs again if you need me. Have fun with your laundry and your interesting clothing." Waving to Hargun, Greer trotted towards food. Hargun Aikason "Hmm." she muttered to Amaya's comment. "Oh.. see yah then greer." Hargun said and returned a wave before turning back to Amaya. "We all know the ******** Moreau. I dunno if its good or bad saying this though, at least he didnt take another female. Makes me worry why theres so many of us here even though he and Aubrey are an item." she shuddered at that. Amaya Vaughan "Alright, see ya Greer." Amaya smiled as her hair was ruffled and watched her go before returning to her laundrey, having to carefully pull wads of it out with her fingers to make sure she didn't tear any of it.
"Holy crap, don't remind me." She paused to shudder. "It's friggin' disgusting. I mean... why else wouldn't their be more guys? It's not like male and female are THAT different enough to show different changes or something or whatever." The girl waved a large hand in emphasis before piling the rest of her clothing in the dryer, shutting the door and turning it on. "I've had to block out the fact that he's got us monitered in our bedrooms just to friggin' SLEEP at night." She grumbled and hopped up onto the dryer, resting her comic on it as well. Hargun Aikason "Certainly though he doesnt have our showers monitored.. we arent going to do much transforminng in there.." she sat on a dryer next to hers and sighed. "Doesnt he have the whole place wired? I mean, hes probably watching us right now.." with that she scowled and looked up and looked around the ceilings, and brushes her chin with her webbing. "Thats right, ******** you, Moreau!" she called. "Argh. Im pushing it.." she said and slouched, discontinuing her offensive behavior. Amaya Vaughan "Jeeze, I hope not. I mean, that'd just be stepping it way too far... though considering, he's stepped pretty danm far as it is so I really wouldn't put it past him." Amaya scowled, resting her chin in one of her palms.
"And he does probably have this place wired..." She looked around before putting a finger in each side of her mouth, pulling it open and sticking out her tongue. "NYAH!" After that was finished, she slumped again.
"But in any case, s'not like we can do anything about it." The iguana girl sighed and kicked her feet in the air. Hargun Aikason "Yea.. kinda screwed. Although I bet we could make mean faces and vulgar gestures all day. Surely he cant use that 'put us to sleep' command thing from far off. I bet you have to hear it or something like that... otherwise we'd be dropping like flies all the time." She took this thought into consideration. Maybe Moreau's power over them could be fairly easy to avoid if they simply stayed away from him, and considering he hardly ever showed his face around the islanders, that really wouldnt be a difficult practice. "Ugh.." she made a sick noise. "What if like.. sticks probes and tracking things in our food? I mean that could explain.. things." although she hated to think about all these things, it was worth talking about. They could find ways to weave around without fear of their disturbing master. Amaya Vaughan "Augh..." Amaya matched her friend's look of disgust with her own, but didn't add to what she said. Instead she jumped to another subject.
"... So, how've you been these past few days?" Hargun Aikason Hargun grinned. Nice change of subject at least. "Ah well.. ever since appologizing to Ambrose, meeting with Joliette, and Jamal, and hopefully getting an apology to Awen through him, Ive been a lot better. I keep finding myself almost cheerful being here.. which is really wierd. Guess its experiencing watching more and more people come and more change.. you feel like everyone here, whether or not theyre agreeable, have become bonded. Almost like a family, if not a brotherhood." her grin changed to an embarassed look. "Eugh, see? A bit unusually positive." She sighed and looked up, leaning back a bit, putting an arm behind her to hold her up. "I even slept outside my duplex the other night after relaxing and listening to everything." Amaya Vaughan "Well, I think almost everyone can see something positive in being here despite what's going on. I mean to be completely honest... I don't really regret coming here. Like you said, we've created some sort of dysfuctional family or something. If I never came here I'd still be alone and would have never met you or Ambrose or Greer or anyone..." Amaya smiled and curled her toes a little.
It was then that the dryer beeped, causing the girl to jump off the top and start piling her clothing into a pillow case she had been using as a hamper. "But then again, that doesn't keep me from thinking about how you and the others shouldn't be here. You have crap back in the outside world to miss... And I'd rather be stranded here alone then have to watch you guys miss so much." She gave a smirk.
"Well, I better get back to my duplex and put my clothes away before I start getting all sappy. I'll catch ya later Hargun!" Amaya waved and grabbed her comic before swinging the pillow case over her shoulder and heading back to her room. Quote: Hargun laughed. Dysfunctional family.. "Alrighty then. See ya Amaya!" she waved and sat on the dryer she was on for a while before heading back to her duplex... just to reflect. Shed have to worry about that Stewart guy later.. probably try to burn her or do some ritual to her in her sleep. Shuddering, she hopped up and walked out herself, to her duplex.

On the way back- Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs made his way into the cafeteria, whistling a possibly familiar tune on his lips as he swung the door open. With hands in his pockets he smiled and took a deep sniff at the smells in the air. With an empty stomach and his senses on high, he grinned and made his way to the food. Hargun Aikason Hargun made her way back to the duplex, passing by the cafeteria. But another musical sound hit her ears and she turned around, facing the doors. "Hmm.. someones else rather..uh.. cheerful?" she whispered to herself, and curious just as before, went inside to find out who it was, finding a very large and unfamiliar man she hadnt yet seen before. "Uhmm.. hello?" she called. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs got himself a great helping of sausages, mash potato, gravy and peas and headed towards a table whistling. He blinked up at the hearing of a voice and blushed that he was caught whistling. Looking over he found himself with someone he hadn't met, a girl that well.. looked a bit batty. " Ummm... ah heya there" Joliette Rigiel Joliette wandered into the cafeteria, she was looking through the 10 or so 5x7 photos she had brought with her, her face held a look of mild confusion as she walked in. she didn't notice the others at first Hargun Aikason Hargun looked at his tray of food.. it look.. less tasty as it would for her before.. "Im not.. interupting you or anything am I?" she asked, but before she could offer herself to the door Joliette walked in. "Heya Joliette." she grinned. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs blinked and looked down at his food and put the tray down. Joliette came in when he looked back up and he smiled to both women politely. " Um hey Joliette... and umm.. no, I'm just eating.. ah nothing special" Joliette Rigiel Joliette staed and looked up "Oh!, Hi guys" she smiled "How are you guys?" she asked stopping and looking at them both holding the photograaphs against her chest, not hiding them... just holding them Hargun Aikason Hargun nodded to Chubbs. "Well good.. at least Im not sending you running.." she said, figuring he was already told about what was going on.. if not told a very very good lie. "Not too bad actually, Joliette. Just finished chatting with Amaya and Greer, then popped in here after happening to hear this fellow." she said and turned to Chubbs. She held out a webbed hand. "I dont think weve met.. Im Hargun Aikason." Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs blushed as it was his usual routine when meeting with neew people. He looked at her hand, and held out his, taking a minute to try and find the right way to grasps it without hurting her. With a shake and a shy smile he looked back up from under the brim of his cap. " I aumm...no, I'm still a bit new.. ah well names Chubbs.. ah nice to meet ya" His accent was thick as Joliette's and he blushed a bit and looked to her to answer he response " Oh I'm ah fine... bit hungry. so ah came for dinner" Joliette Rigiel "He lives in the building next to mine Hargun, helped me move something for my darkroom the other day... speaking of which..." she walked over to the table putting hte photos down spreading them a little to find what she was looking for, there were a couple of hte island from quite a distance out in the water but still well defined, there were a couple of vasile running on the beach, a couple of a man with loud tourist clothing and white hair trying to hide his face one with part of his face showing hte other his hand almost completely in the way, a coupld of the village and a couple which had Hargun in them in a silly playful pose. She pulled the last two from the pile and held them towards her friend "Here Hargun, thought you might like these" she said the other photos left spread on the table for the time being Hargun Aikason Hargun laughed. "Thanks. Ill be needing them when I.. you know.. change again." she said and grabbed them. "Nice to meet you too Chubbs." she turned and began to head to the door. "Sorry to leave on short notice. I was originally heading back to my duplex anyways. We can all talk some other time though, right?" she said smiling. "Joliette knows where Im at." With that she waved and was out. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs looked over the phot's layed out across the table, he splayed them out and turned some around to face him with a pinkee finger, not wanting to make a smudge. He looked up at Joliette with a smile " These are pretty good" He watched as Hargun took the pictures offered, Chubbs wouldn't have minded seeing them, to see what she was like before. And soon after she headed out the door, he pondered if he scared her off. " Ah.. sure.. umm.. have to ah catch up sometime" Joliette Rigiel She looked down at them "Thanks, I took these all when I first got here" she sat down" The ones I gave Hargun aer the first day I met her, she was making a silly pose, but then thats also when I thought she was a movie star in costume" she leanedon the edge of the table "Theres Vasile, and this is from quite a ways out, and of course... the very confusing git" she said revealing she felt a lil confused about the man right then Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs with one hand used his fork to cut a bit of sausage and scopp it up with som potato and peas, the other brought each picture close enough to look at as she said them out. " I ah.. hmm don't know him... man.. so many people .. I.. well dunno" He took a bite of his food, and pushed it to one side of his mouth as he looked as Sabins pic and spoke " What ya mean umm by .. confusing?" Joliette Rigiel "Well he's been getting things totally wrong ever since I got here, almost as if purposefully... first my request for clothing, and then the darkroom stuff on Jamal's stoop.. that kinda thing... Jamal ruined some of it not knowing what it was so I wrote to get it replaced I hoped someone other then the git would get hte note... well he got it, and I walked into my darkroom today to find a box in it, and in it... everything I requested and a note on it from him, polite and everything correct... no tricks... was he having a bad day? is he playing with my head? you know that kinda thing... it's seriously confusing Chubbs, I don't know what to make of it..." she sighed Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs continued at his meal, taking large bites and looking down at the picture of Sabin. He still didn't trust him, the guy was okay to start, but it was all an act. Sabin was part of the sland, and they all knew what they were doing, and still did it. " I ah.. I still don't like him. I know this though.. he well... any of them.. they won't want to ah.. pay me any visits anytime soon" Joliette Rigiel "He's no less a gormless arse, I'm just trying to figure out what is going on in that head of his" she sighed gathering the other photos up and stacking them so the one of Vasile was on top "This one he's confusing too, but he seems nice when you get to know him, I guess that rough exterior is from his movie star days" she looked from teh photo to Chubbs with a smile, she found him easy to talk to despite her quiet reserved side Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs tuned his head to the side and looked at the picture closely, taking two more large bites, chewing and swallowing. It wasn't anyone he'd met yet, even if he'd pictured him with fur or scales. He pondered then how they got a movie star here. " He's a movie star?.. wow.. umm... wouldn't people be like ah looking for him?" Joliette Rigiel Joliette shook her head "No, he's presumed dead, that his plane went down, it was in the press that he was searched for and wasn't found... He's actually the reason I came to this area, I heard rumors that the disappearances in this area were not what they were chalked up to be..." she sighed "I should have stayed home, I should have ignored hte rumors" she berated herself Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs put his fork down, immediately trying to comfort Joliette anyway he could. He reached over the table and patted her hand gently and smiled. " Well.. ah.. if you hadn't I ah well wouldn't have the best well... neighbour in the world" He blushed a bit and looked elsewhere, trying to hide it Joliette Rigiel Joliette looked at Chubbs and gave him a smile. "Thanks Chubbs" she said softly putting her other hand atop his "I appreciate you helping me feel better about it. You are a wonderful neighbour too" she saw his blush that he tried to hide, it did nothing but make her smile, and she didn't comment on it Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs blushed even more, almost making him hide under his T-shirt. In situations like this he used humour to calm himself down some. He smiled back though, wasn't often he got many compliments, or had a girl hold his hand, but it seemed here that he was liked, and he wondered if being here was his destiny, and that the people here needed him. " aww.. geez.. you'll get sick of me soon enough... bears probably snore.. I bet you'll be beating me with a broom handle at three am.. too ah.. be quiet" Joliette Rigiel Joliette giggled "Hard to say Chubbs... I could wind up being nocturnal, who knows, I haven't had the courage to ask, besides the fact I do not want to risk getting the git on the com again" she had yet to move her hand off of hte 'pile' of hands or off his for that matter. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs layed his hand on top of the pile, made it feel complete some how. He was still blushing lightly and still wondering what Joliette might be. " Well mines.. umm.. fixed now.. so ah.. if ya need anything... you can umm.. well ask me" Joliette Rigiel "As much as I appreciate it, I don't think I could or rather would want to know, I'm afraid to find out. Something in my heart tells me I won't like what it is, I got the impression the git didn't like several aspects about me, that alone came across in his voice" she said "I wish I had your courage to know" Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs sighed a big, but tried to keep his smile. He didn't want a downed mood because of him. " Actually, I don't, umm well think.. it was courage..., it was more... ah.. well that I was pissed at how.. well how they ah hurt people... and I wanted to know.. if... if I'd to be a pig... so i could ah.. dump it all at them at once" Joliette Rigiel Joliette chuckled "Well, I'm glad they were sensible enough not to do that to you, not sure if you like what you did get much more... but it's better then that" she smiled softly "Thats one thing I admire about you... you care about others. About what happens to them, and things like that." Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs felt a bit shy at that, feeling like a big care bear. He'd had a theory about himself, something that he thought might explain himself, and he thought Joliette would understand. " I ah well.. I like to.. I feel that if people are happy, it infects.. and well then I'm happy. I kinda like to be well... like a big brother... like a.. well, protector. What I mean to umm say is. I feel I have a purpose then... umm like I'm worth something... and ah.. it almost feels as I'm destined to do that" Chubbs took a breath and kept his smile while continuing " You umm ever seen the movie Unbreakable?... the umm one with Bruce Willis. Well I liked it.. cuz I felt I related to it. Umm remember how.. he didn't feel right... cuz well he felt empty until he ah.. saved them kids...well.. I kinda feel that way when I can't help people out" Joliette Rigiel "You dont have to have a purpose to be worth something Chubbs, you have a goal in your life thats one thing... but... you are worth lots, even without being a protector" she nodded to herself "I can't say I ever watched that movie, I didn't do much of that kinda thing on the mainland" she blushed ever so slightly "kept myself... busy... with work" Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs blinked and went wide eyed. " Never seen it?!, you ah need to stay in more... wait... that's it, this calls for ah.. well an emergency umm.. movie showing" With that, Chubbs got up from his table, moved around to Joliette side and lifted her up into the scoop of his arm. " Time for you.. to see what ah.... you missed out on" With that he carried her towards the door Joliette Rigiel Joliette laughed barely grabbing her photos in time to be lifted up "All right a movie it is then" she giggled letting him carry her off

Wearing her Gi due to not only everything else spinning circles in teh washer and wanting to be covered completely Joliette looks at hte duplexes and then after a few minutes of thinking heads to Hargun's. She seriously did not want to be alone just then, her mind was playing over and over again the look the git had when he was doubled over for lack of air the look on his face and then his words. After a moment's hesitation she knocked...

Hargun sat up, having just flipped through her sketchbook for the uhmth time. She lost count when she suddenly decided to look through it in previous days before. It was rather unusual to get company, considering she was almost always outside, if not sleeping for a long time of the day or mopeing around.
"Uh, hold on please.." she said and tidied up around a little. The place was most definately a mess.
After straightening out the wrinkles on her just sat on bed, it becomming pretty easy to do with her webbed arms now,she turned to the door and struggled getting open with both hands.
Glad to see it was Joliette, (and not the small thought of a staff member happening to be there), she smiled. "Heya, Joliette!"

"Allo Hargun" Joliette looked up at the bat-girl whom she'd come to consider a friend and gave a weak smile "Hope you don't mind me just... dropping by" she said quietly, Joliette wasn't usually as quiet as she was right then

Hargun nodded and gestured for her to come inside, the change of light was starting to bother her eyes.
"Oh, no not at all. I just hope you dont mind my dark, messy room.." she said and stepped out of the doorway to let Joliette in, and to get out of the brightness. Everytime she went out she had her sunglasses handy but she never wore them inside her duplex.
"And... is there something wrong?" she asked.

"Darkness is fine, I'm used to it from the darkroom"Joliette said stepping into Hargun's messy duplex but saying nothing about hte mess as she moved a little aside to sit on a chair "I just had a really bad day yesterday" she says with a nod "I made one bad choice after another"

Hargun shut the door as soon as she could when Joliette was in, but not slamming it. She did a little more cleaning... as much as she could at least while Joliette talked, then walked over and sat indian-style on her bed.
"A bad day?" she pondered. Maybe she got in an argument with another islander?
"Well you couldnt have possibly done something... -that- bad.." she added, a bit confused, worried, and curious all at once.

"Lets see" she began ticking of things on her fingers "Trusted clothing the git sent me, had them disintigrate from me in the ocean with Chubbs right in front of me, went to calm in teh jungle and got lost, punched sabin, woke up in the cafeteria's meat locker... I think that sums it up" she pulled her legs close and wrapped her arms around them

Hargun tried to follow, a bit confused in the first part until she mentioned Sabin.
"Wait, the uh.. 'git' was Sabin?" she asked and looked thoughtfully. "WOAH. And.. and you PUNCHED him? Then.. wound up.. somewhere else?" she looked around rather desprately. "You mean to tell me he used that sleeping thing??! HE can use it too? And... AND you havent had any changes yet."
"I thought that a., only Moreau could do that, and b., he could only do it to us after weve changed." she brought up. This was something well needed to be dwelled on. Something told her it wasnt something they fed them.. because almost everything she ate now consisted of NATURAL bugs... apart from teh chocolate ants and candy cockroaches. It couldnt have anything to do with the liquid serum either..
She stopped sputtering and scooted towards the edge of her bed to pat Joliette on the shoulder. "Hey.. sorry that all happened. Exspecially to you."
