Skye smiled patiently and returned to stand beside Suzura once more. She had sort of expected not to be understood, she knew that she was always clearer when she spoke with her hands rather than attempting speech, though she preferred to speak when she could.
'First we start by standing in our starting position,' she told Suzura, signing with her hands this time, 'and then we just hop forward - or step if you prefer - three times. If you want to flap your wings you can, it makes it look as though you are flying, even if you are not.'
And she faced forward and showed Suzura what she meant, hopping forward three times (or rather taking three steps and gently pushing off from the ground) and then coming to a halt, standing in the exact same position as before.

Suzura nodded this time. That was much more clear. She took one step, then the second, and then the third, though she did not flap her wings. She wasn't good at walking and flapping at the same time. She always lost her balance and fell down when she tried.
She then smiled, and looked up at Skye once more, ready for the next step.

"Very good!" Skye exclaimed excitedly, clapping her hands at Suzura's performance. "Very good! Now we spin one time ..."
And she spun on her toes to show Suzura.
"... and then the same back to where we started! One, two, three, hop! Stop!"
And she did just that, coming to a stop where she had first started and giggling.

Suzura smiled and nodded as she attempted to get up on her toes. It was harder then it looked. After a few tries she got it...somewhat, at least good enough to do a quick spin. Then came the hopping. The first one was good, and by the second one she was getting excited, and as many beings with wings, her own started to flutter a bit right before she hopped for a third time.
Which was why she she took the tumble that she did.
It kind of looked like a lopsided somersault. Righting herself, she rubbed her head a little bit feeling awefully clumsy.
"You okay?" called her brother, slowly trying to weasle his way down to a lower branch on the tree so he could hop down without causing injury to himself.

"Oops," Skye murmured, her eyes sparkling softly as she knelt to help Suzura back to her feet again. "Don't worry, I falled down lots when I first start learning dance."
She felt speech vibrations coming from above them, in the tree where Syrus was watching them, and she looked up at him and smiled. "She okay!" she called cheerfully. "Not too hurt."
And she turned her attention back to Suzura, picking her up and rubbing her head for her. "What you think?" she asked softly. "Try again? Or do something else for a while?" She smiled encouragingly, hoping that she would make the poor embarrassed girl feel more at ease. After all, everyone made mistakes.

Suzura sighed a little bit. 'Though I would like to try some more, it might be of best interest that I wait until I learn to walk and flap my wings without falling first. My wings express how I feel without me knowing, and I would not want to fall again just because I am excited...' she said.
Syrus had finally plunked himself into a lower brach, and smiled at Suzura from his lower perch. "That might be a good idea. I'm sure when you grow into your wings more it won't be a problem." he stated.

Skye smiled at Suzura's words. Still a surprise she might be, but she was quite grown-up in her way of thinking. She was about to reply when she felt vibrations up in the tree, and she looked up just in time to see what Syrus said.
She smiled warmly up at him.
"You are good brother," she told him, her tone filled with admiration, even though she couldn't hear it herself. "You take good care of Suzura, give good encouragement. Suzura lucky to have brother like you."
Then she looked back down at Suzura. "If you want," she offered, "maybe I can help you learn walk and flap wings at same time."

'Maybe' Suzura said, heaving a sigh. 'Though I have been practicing. It might be because my wings are too big and strong compared to my body right now, but you have wings too, so you might know some tricks to getting around that, yes?'
Syrus finally hopped down from the tree and made himself comfortable against it, leaning on it while still mostly upright and standing. He merely blushed slightly at the compliment, but said nothing, wondering just what Skye could teach his little angel of a sister.

Skye knelt next to Suzura and smiled at her, putting one hand on her head and patting it softly.
"Sometimes it hard, but you must practice all you can to make wings work right," she told her with a smile. "When I was surprise, I fall down all the time ... sometimes from wings, but sometimes not ... I not can remember what had to do to make not fall down ..."
A thoughtful expression crossed slowly over her face as she tried to think back to her surprisehood. It had been quite a while ago ... over a year by this time ...
"I think ... I think my teachers hold my hands, help me not fall," she murmured. She smiled at Suzura again. "What if I hold you ... hold your hands and then when you wing flap you not fall down so much and you can get used to it?"

'That seems to be a good plan,' she signed as she pulled herself to her feet.
Syrus removed himself from the tree, finally finding a moment in which he could participate. He walked over to the two angels and smiled slightly.
"You don't mind if I help with this, do you Skye?" he asked. "I...you know...could hold one hand and you can hold the other....I mean...I just like helping when and if I can..." He shifted his weight, now unsure if it was even his place to ask

Skye took Suzura's hand and was about to take her other one as well when she saw Syrus joining them. She looked up and saw his suggestion, and her face lit up in a bright, eager smile.
"Please!" she agreed happily. "Is good you help! You are very good brother to Suzura!"
She was so excited that her wings began to flutter uncontrollably, and she couldn't help but jump over and throw her arms around Syrus's shoulders and give him a quick, tight hug. She loved the way he was so good to his sister, it was really wonderful of him!
"And it makes helping Suzura lots easier!" she beamed, letting go of him again and taking Suzura's hand once more. "Right?"

Syrus, being Syrus and all, flushed brightly at Skye's hug. He coughed and stammered random sounds before taking one of his sister's hands.
"She's the only sister I have, and I really care about her," he said finally with a defiant nod. "And besides...I do like helping people when I can, and if they let me."
Seeing as both her hands were being held, Suzura just nodded and smiled, flapping her wings partly due to her brother's devotion, and partly due to the fact that she wanted to get used to flapping them while they held on, even though they hadn't started to move yet.

Skye of course didn't notice Syrus's discomfort and couldn't hear the sounds that he made while she was taking Suzura's hand again, but once she had the girl's hand securely in her own she looked back at him just in time to see his explanation.
She smiled widely, though she was curious about the redness of his face.
"Syrus good man," she said solemnly, starting to walk forward slowly so that she wouldn't surprise Suzura. "Lots of people say ... burden, to take care of people who not can be like other people ... but Syrus good man, Syrus like to help ..."
She smiled brightly at him. "I think Syrus better man than most people," she said honestly.

Syrus used his free hand to rub the back of his neck as it was a compulsive habit when anyone complimented, especially on his character.
"I wouldn't say that..." he stated. "Sure, I'm willing to help people, but I am a coward as well...those two character traits really don't mix..." he said with a sigh.
Suzura frowned a little bit at Syrus in sadness, but it faded quickly as she lifted her feet off the ground, forcing Syrus to snap out of his sadness and focus on rebalencing himself with the newly added weight, though, being a surprise, she wasn't that heavy.

Skye cried out with surprise feeling Suzura pulling on her arm, but she quickly regained her balance and looked down at the girl to make sure she hadn't fallen. But it looked as though she was just playing around. She smiled and turned her attention back to Syrus.
"Why think you coward?" she asked him curiously. "I think ... maybe shy, but that not coward ... I have sister, Serenity, she shy, she not talk to anyone she not know ... but she not coward. If you help people, you brave! Not coward."
Of course there was always the possibility that he was referring to something else she didn't know about, but she honestly saw him as being brave.
