"There's a difference between learning to fight and being beaten," Antony said. "The trainer is actually going easier on the person learning to fight, and teaching him how to avoid being beaten ruthlessly. Father could easily kill me, or break every bone in my body. You get used to that fact after a while. Just like you can't beat me, I can't beat him."
He turned. "Now I'm going home to change. You two can continue on in your training," he said before starting to walk away.

"Well, that was a wash," said Jace to Rory, and she scrubbed down the front of her shorts with her hands. "Think about what I said with the reps things on weekends. d**k's got another thing coming if he thinks I can't beat him eventually. See ya, Rory."
Just like Antony, Jace swaggered off as well. It seemed everyone was leaving her!

Well, that figured. With a sigh and a shrug, she gathered up her own things. Seemed like no one else was coming, after all. Huh, interesting indeed. "Tell Wisp hi, for me!" she added.
Now she had several things to work on, after all.
