Feng looked up and shook her head, "No... well... I had, but that was before I came here to look after Naida."
"Which.. isn't saying much since he disappeared a few days after you did," Ryu added with a sigh, "Celebor has also been missing and no one knows where he went to."
"Huh... that isn't like Celebor at all..."
She thought about it, but couldn't explain it, she didn't think Celebor would be the type to disappear period.

Jair had nothing to say to that, he just plain didn't know his brother at all, beyond the fact that it had been he who had taken care of Jair's vase for the first while and Jair wanted very badly to meet him.
Still, he had no idea that it was anything unusual for him to be missing at all, let alone for that long, so he simply shrugged and grinned, "Okay. Mommy said to ask, is all." and then dove back under the water to join Naida once more.

"So two missing family members, mother must be frantic," Feng murmured sheepishly with a scratch to the back of her head, "I guess I really should head home."
"Not to mention Elnara isn't any better at this point," Ryu murmured softly.
Naida during Jair's little distraction was swimming backwards in the water, taking her time to lounge around in what was a bigger place for her to play in.

Jair grinned as he rejoined Naida, floating just in front of her.
"I'm back," he announced as though it wasn't blatantly obvious already. "I just had to ask where Celebor is because nobody knows where he went 'cept that he's here somewhere."
He looked around at the darkness of the cave.
"Well maybe not here here, but somewhere in this world," he amended. "Because our home isn't in this world, this is where we're created, Uncle Ryu says, but our home is in an inn back in a different world where there's Mommy and brothers and sisters and aunts and uncles and Grandma and Grandpa and everyone else too! You should come home with us, there's a really nice place there for us to live in, it's very pretty ..."
He looked around again, one eyebrow raised.
"And it's brighter than in here," he concluded.

Naida looked around the place she considered her home, she had never thought about the brightness of the place. After all this is what she had known for her short life as it was.
"Really? I don't see how it could be brighter," she murmured looking about.

Jair was aghast. How could she not know what brighter than in there was? She was ... suffering!
"Come with me!" he exclaimed, darting forward and grabbing her hand. "We can go out to where the light is and then you can see a whole lot more! It's very pretty out there where it's light and there's so much more to see and when you can see more then there's more to do, too!"
And he tugged her in the direction Ryu had brought him in from, folding his wings against his back so that they wouldn't get caught in the current again.

Despite the fact Naida had to wonder if this was a wise idea, she was very curious about this idea that it could be brighter than what it already was in here. She let Jair tug her along swimming to catch up with him.
"Is it alright to go that way?" she asked him.

Jair grinned reassuringly at Naida, nodding his head eagerly.
"Uncle Ryu took me in this way," he told her confidently, "and there's nothing to be scared of. It's a little dark 'til we get to outside, but then it'll be plenty bright and we won't have to worry about a thing! And there's a whole river we can play in, and I saw some shiny stuff on the bottom, maybe we can find out what it is!"
He couldn't even see the bottom in here, it was so dark, and he wanted to play.

"Like the sort of shiny things that Mama keeps?" Naida asked innocently.
She had never seen the shiny stones before of course, so she didn't know anything about them. She had no idea the sort of thing that Jair had in mind really.
It was very dark, and she was worried for a moment that they might bump into a wall or something of the sort.

Jair had to think about that for a minute, and in the darkness a pensive look crossed his chibi features.
"I don't know what kind of things Aunt Feng has," he admitted as they swam, "but if it's stuff like Uncle Ryu has at home then ..."
He paused. What if they were the same? He still didn't know what was on the river bottom.
"I don't know," he giggled as the area began very gradually to grow lighter. "I don't know what kind of things Aunt Feng has, or what's on the bottom of the river ... but it's all very shiny, and I think it would be fun to find out what it all is. Don't you?"

She really couldn't disagree with that, because it would be fun to find out! Maybe since they were at the bottom of the river they could take one back with them, and she could give it to her Mama. It was about the same as a little girl picking flowers.
Naida nodded eagerly, "That does sound like fun! I like shinies a lot..."

Jair giggled. "I think I do, too - I was bored when I fell in the fountain when I came out of my vase so I was looking at all of Uncle Ryu's shinies ... I dropped one on him but I don't think it hurt him because he just woke up, he didn't yell or anything."
Which he counted as a point in his favour.
"Look!" he pointed ahead. "Light! Lots of it!"
Indeed, they could see where they were going now, as well as the sides of the cave and, further ahead, a touch of blue and green where the river met the grass and the sky.

She squinted a bit, her eyes adjusting to the sudden rays of light from the shining outdoors. She had never seen the waters so clear before, and she could see herself even more clearly than she had while inside. In fact her colours to her, looked very different now that there was so much light.
"Wow... look at it all!"

Jair grinned proudly, feeling somewhat like a show-off as he brought Naida out of the cave and into the full strength of the sun's rays.
"I told you it was light out here," he told her, letting go of her hands. "There's so much more to see out here ... and it's all so much prettier ..."
He pointed down at the bottom of the river, where something was sparkling gold in the sunlight. "Come on, let's go see what that is!" And he took her hand once more and started down towards the deeper water.

She dove deeper into the river along side Jair, feeling eloped in water in such a way that a shallow vase could not do to her. Naida peered around at the stones, keeping an eye on the glittering gold.
"What is it?" she asked curious as she got closer.
It was slightly covered by the mud and dirt at the bottom as well as with the stones. Whatever it was probably was dropped there a while ago by the river waters.
