Joe smiled and shook his head, standing and walking to Doris, "Here sweat heart," he lit a match and held it up to her cigarette carefully. "What's a beauty like you doing in a dive like this?" He sipped more of his whiskey, toying with the kid. "Your daddy know you're down here?" He winked and chucked her chin.

She smiled as he lit her cigarette. She took a drag, and blew out the smoke. "My daddy owns this place," she told him, taking in his wink and his playfulness. She recognized him, but couldn't place. Her father would bring his 'business associates' over for dinner sometimes and jokingly try to marry her off to them, was he one of them? She looked at his face some more. "I've seen your face before," she said finally.

He took a step back, opening up his arms. He looked hurt, though the grin showed his obvious intent, "Sweet heart, you forgot my face already? Name's Joe. I've done a little work for your dad. Doris, right? I remember when you were such a sweet kid, and now you're smoking up in a bar. How times change. You drink at all?" He waved down the bartender for another drink.

"JOE!" She around the bar to where Joe stood and wrapped her arms around him and pecked his cheek. "It has been quite a while. I'm sorry I forgot your name, and I don't drink much, mainly smoke," she said to him. "How have you been, old timer?" She told him jokingly.

charles watched her hug joe as he walked back toward the stairs to get the rest of his shipment. a couple of customers snuck behind him in an attempt to steal the beer. He grabbed one of the barrels and turned around to see the two drunken customers, holding a couple of metal from one of the old barrels. "Hmm. What do you guys need?" He dodged just out of the way as one of them swung the metal at him. "Crap." He dropped the barrel and dodged another swing. With a quick uppercut he sent one of them sprawling to the floor, while the other scored a hit to his side with a hard swing. He stepped back, holding his side in pain. "Great, two tubs of lard at once." He smiled at the look of anger on both their faces as they rushed at him. He rested his foot on the barrel they hadn't noticed earlier and rolled i with his foot. Crashing both of the drunkers and their make-shift weapons fell at his feet. "There. Now then... What to do with the two of you?" He smiled as a few minutes later he followed the two drunkers as they carried the last barrels inside, while holding a pointed peice of metal at their backs. "Move it unless you want to feel this in your backs."

William was dusting off a few glasses when Charles walked in with the two drunkards. "Ah, thanks my friend." He grinned at the state of the two drunkards. "You really did them in, didn't ya Charlie?"

"Hey william. These two were trying to steal the beer but I taught them a little lesson." One of the costomers started to grumble but a quick stab with the metel piece shut him up. "Move you lards!" After they had walked into the back room, they both fell uncouncscious from two quick hits to their heads. "There, now how will I finish off these two?" He walked back out and lcoked the door behind him. "william, what should we do with those guys later? 'Cause if we let 'em go. they'll propably go to the cops."

"Old timer?" Joe sighed, rubbing his face, feeling the bags under his eyes, "I suppose I am. Damn. Well, youngin', heard you were getting yourself into all sorts of trouble, and I'm a sucker for the younger ladies." He winked and took a sip. "But where else was I going to go? The daughter of an old friend needs looking after, or at the very least, I wouldn't mind looking at her, so here I am." He shrugged. "What have you gotten yourself into Doris?" Looks at Charles and Williams. "Just make sure you're ready for this life, sweet heart."

"I was born ready," she told him. Which was sort of true, the life her mother wanted for her was dull and boring. She remembered her coming out party her mother held for her when she turned 16. The men her mother chose to come to 'suit' her daughter were boring guys. Sure, they had money, but she doesn't care about money, she wants adventure and none of them promised her that.
"I know what I'm getting into Joe," she told him. Which was true as well, her father made sure to tell her every possible bad thing that could happen, but she doesn't care. "You live life once," she told him, and now she's repeating it for Joe to hear. "Make the most of it," she took a drag on her cigarette, the long line of ash fell to the floor.
She then heard a commotion and saw Charles with two men passed out at his feet. The way he was holding his side made it noticeable that he was hurt, the two men were full of bruises and scrapes as well. She sighed, excused herself and walked over to him.
"What happened Charles?" She asked him, her face was still hot from the flattery she received from Joe.

He puffed out the smoke, and grinned as he watched her walk over to Charles. Joe went back to the bar for one more quick shot, getting himself nice and dizzy, and than headed over to the people, following behind Doris. He whispered, "You need any help, just ask."

"Oh these two were trying to steal my shipment but I fixed them up." He looked over at her, noticing that she seemed uncomfortable about something. "What's with you?"

"Aw, nothing, I just hope they don't say nothing to the cops is all," she told him. She was a little irritated at him, but it didn't matter. She turned to Joe,"I might be needing some of that help you offered." She thought for a little bit and remembered her father was in the office behind the bar. "I know, put them in my father's office, he'll know what to do with them," she said motioning towards the closed door behind the bar.

Joe sighed a little and stood almost straight up, revealing just how strangely tall he was. "What will you need help with?" He stood behind her, a scrawny, looming giant, watching Charles and the men he had. "I think they're too heavy for me, if that's what you're thinking." He put out his cigarette, and pulled out a toothpick to put between his lips. "However, if you really want to get rid of them, the ocean's a great place. Sure their bodies will wash up in a few days, but the coppers likely have 'em pegged already as crooks. They'll be upset, sure, but not too crushed."

"That idea is the bee's knee buddy. Though I'm making sure I have the pleasure of killing them." Charles grabbed one by the collar and started to drag him back upstairs. "Mind getting the other one? I want to finish this as soon as possible." He dragged the man next to his car and picked him up like a barrel full of rum and tossed him inside. "Heh, now where did the boss hide the rifle from me this time?"

((Sorry for delay!))
William shook his head. "Don't use the rifle; that's too much noise. Just... Irish them up a little bit." He said while holding up his fists. "They don't look too tough. Call me if you need help, eh?"
