Proudly_Jewish not quite... the simple characters (numbers, sun and moon, and a few other ones) are the same, but most of them have changed a lot. Japanese kanji tend to be more simplified ninja Yes, they have same character with "sun, moon, number, etc." but they have many different character. Japanese is more simplified than Fantizi Chinese, but not Jiantizi Chinese. Jiantizi looks more calligraphy of Fantizi.

plingern ryouna Hokum ryouna plingern well...u aren't alone about that...! ^^;; I thought written chinese was the same, but the way the dialects sound were different. I could be wrong... They are the same, or they should be..although now with the traditional and simplified, it's gotten more confusing. Not that I can write sufficiently..just my names and not so complex words. sweatdrop I speak the Cantonese dialect though, so joy for me. Both my parents are from HK, but I was born in Canada. I speak cantonese too. fun times. I was born in China, but I moved to the US when I was very little. my parent isfrom different countries..but moved to HK...and now they moved to norway...and I am born here....talk cantonese too! blaugh I have never met so many Cantonese people. I was born in Belgium, but my parents are from Beijing or around near.

Hi everyone, ^^
I can speak & write mandarin, both complex and simple, although I'm much better at simple, since that was what I learnt in school.
I can speak Hokkien as well, because that's the only thing my grandparents speak, and I kind of learned it slowly after resorting to sign languages everytime I visited her... sweatdrop
I can understand quite a bit of cantonese, but I can't speak it though. Am trying to learn cantonese, since I am a cantonese... sweatdrop
Umm, just... glad to meet everyone... ^^

我在小学有三年是写繁体字, 一年写简体字, 在中学就有三年是写简体字,所以繁体和简体我都会写。 不过我以前住在香港, 所以我比较习惯写繁体字。 Edit: how come this post never shows up correctly to me? It shows up in the editing box, but not after I submit it.
